With very short notice, Tomoko was quick to respond to a last minute request for accommodation. The room was perfect. Big, clean and comfortable. It was walking distance to beaches and shopping. And Tomoko had left a detailed list of things to do and see during her layover. Perfect spot for a short stay in Honolulu.

One thing i was not satisfying was that the room was little bit noisy and cold since the window in the room is located next to the street. Other things are all satisfied.

There is a building under construction across the street so little noisy during the day. Some noise from cars and buses on the street.

  Comments: Tomoko is very friendly and welcoming and invited me with a big hug to Waikiki ! I came alone and felt completely safe in the neighborhood even late nights and early mornings while still dark out. My room had plenty of space and was within walking distance to everything including all bus tops to go around the island which was perfect! but also means it can get pretty noisy outdoors at night if you are trying to sleep. my only wish is that the windows opened further. This was the perfect place for me and I look forward to coming to stay every time I'm there!

The location is perfect for walking everywhere right In town & uber / bus everywhere else like airport etc. it was perfect for me to come in for the night for a concert. I flew in from Maui took the bus from the airport dropped off my stuff & got ready to go out. I walked to eat & explore a bit, took an uber to the republik, did my thing got back to the pad ($6 ride back to the house) Crashed out & woke up & walked to grab coffee & the bus to the airport. Perfect for a solo traveler like me who doesn't need fancy just safe & welcoming. It felt like I had the whole place to myself too!

  Comments: Tomoko and Mary were wonderful hosts. I had made a mistake about the day I was arriving but they worked it out and were still able to accommodate me. Also I had underestimated how tired I would be after my flight and although it was hours before the check-in time they let me have a shower and leave my bags with them so I could go explore the beach and Waikiki before returning to my room to crash. It was so easy to contact them, everyone was really friendly and helpful and I felt very safe and secure. Thanks for a great stay :D

  Comments: Great location! Very close to all the restaurants, bars, and the beach! It's about a 15 minute walk to Waikiki beach. The room is as pictured, but there's no lock on the door. However, I felt fine leaving my things in the apartment. I rented a car and Tomoko was very accommodating. She rented out a spot in the garage to me for $10/day, which I didn't mind paying for because finding street parking in Waikiki is impossible. My only issue is that the bathroom shower could be a bit more cleaner or updated.. Maybe it's not pictured for a reason.. Other than that, this is a CONVENIENT location that provides AFFORDABLE accommodations.

Ce qui m'a moins plu est qu'il y a 4 chambres louées dans l'appartement et une seule salle de bain avec toilette à l'intérieur pour les 4 chambres. De plus la porte de la salle de bain n'a pas de verrou, donc pas commode ! La cuisine qui fait office de salle à manger n'est pas très conviviale. Plusieurs fois quand je suis rentrée, j'ai trouvé la porte de l'appartement grande ouverte, ce qui n'est pas très rassurant. Les portes des chambres ne fermaient pas à clé non plus.

  Comments: The ppace is extremely close to many things so it made travel really convenient. Also the host was very nice with helping me out to find food and with my many many bags. The room itself wasn't bad. It's cheap, it has a ved, you get what you pay for. It wasnt bad for the price at all. I just needed a bed for the night. The room does get extremely loud at night, so if you cant sleep with noises then it'll be troublesome. Also, beware of the slamming door! I did also find the curtain a litttttle too small for the window considering I was facing other apartments which nade it hard to change. But I guess if you maneuver it the right way you can get some coverage. Other than those things I was happy with the place. I had no issues.

  Comments: Sayaka checked me in and was very nice. The room is like a dorm room. As advertised, it's small and very bare bones. It's a great location if you just need a place to crash for the night. Only one window in the room opens and there's a lot of street noise at night. You can't close the window, however, since there is a lack of AC and without the window and fan, it would be very uncomfortable. I'd recommend ear plugs if you have them. The apartment itself is extremely tiny and there is no living room space. There is a kitchen area with a table and a couple of chairs if you want to hang out but I felt discouraged from doing so. When my friend and I were chatting at the table at 7:20pm we got scolded for talking too loudly because one of the girls could have been sleeping (which it turned out she wasn't). We didn't even know if any of the other girls were home since the other ladies are fairly private. The rental is very close to the beach and a lot of shopping too so that's a bonus. Overall, this is a great place if you just need to crash for a night or are really strapped for cash.

  Comments: This place and the people would probably the worst on Airbnb. I booked this place after reading the reviews, but the reviews were absolutely misleading. First of all, the place was ok for the price but the way the host and her assistant Mary treated me was bad. They checked me into the wrong wrong initially and then forced me to get out of that place without even having the basic courtesy. Then when the door was banging due to its defect, Mary started to bang her room wall which was extremely arrogant. They never tried to fix the door. The other two girls at the place was okay. Overall the people don't know how to treat fellow people.

This room is in an apartment that has been divided into 5 bedrooms with a small shared kitchen and bathroom. There is no other common living space. It is quite old. Having said that, it was in an amazing location and I felt very safe. I think it's a good place for young girls. Everyone there was very nice.

  Comments: Tomoko's rooms are very well located and are just like you can see on the pictures. You can walk to waikiki beach within 7 minutes and to a Very Nice park. There are close, but expensive food stores. Also, you can go jogging at the canal! There Is more than enough hot water to shower and appliances work properly. Since it Is located downtown, there Is noise. So ear plugs arent luxury! I was supposed to have a Room with a doorlock, but ended up without. Tomoko gave me 70$ US refund. That was honest (: The appartement Is somewhat small and could be a little cleaner, but I would still recommend it. The price Is correct for what you get and it was fun meeting the other girls from différent countries! Hope to stay there again ! (:

  Comments: The location was excellent. I spent 3x as much on a hotel a block away. The room was bigger than I thought it would be, too. It was a pleasant surprise. It’s a city, so expect a little noise. The bed was not super comfy, but well enough to get a good night’s sleep. I will say, the instructions made it sound like the host did not want to be bothered at all, but the check in was super easy so this was not a problem. Plus, I ran into her on the way out & she was friendly to me. ... All in all, this has got to be the best deal going in Waikiki! If it’s available, you won’t be sorry you booked!!

  Comments: Tomo is a great host! I've stayed with her for several years now and I'll never stay anywhere else in Honolulu as long as she's still on airbnb. Perfect for the low maintenance traveller who wants something simple and private. I love the city noise at night and having a kitchen available as an option. My room had a clothes rack and hangers and a little table and chair so I could really unpack and settle in. It was just perfect. The self check in was a new feature that was really helpful, too. I'll keep coming back.

  Comments: Die Lage der Unterkunft ist unschlagbar. Sie liegt direkt in Waikiki, öffentliche Verkehrsmittel sind direkt vor der Haustüre und zum Strand sind es nur zwei Straßen weiter. Das Zimmer ist klein aber völlig ausreichend, wenn man sowieso nur zum Schlafen dort ist. Das Zimmer und auch das Bad ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Tomoko ist sehr freundlich und sympathisch, die Kommunikation mit ihr einfach und die Infos und Beschreibungen, die sie gibt sind sehr genau. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier absolut, wenn man bedenkt wie teuer Waikiki ist.

  Comments: There’s nothing I don’t love about this place. The kitchen and bathroom were kept super clean all the time, not to mention the convenience of access to clean towels. Location was excellent too. 5 min walk to T galleria, and a bus stop literally 15 seconds from the building. You can get to anywhere you like from the bus stops-ala moana center, diamond head, walmart, hilton hawaiian village, Iolani palace, the airport, and all the other hotels in Waikiki. Pink line trolley stop is also nearby, which was super convenient. For this price, I don’t think I can find a better place to stay. Definitely would stay here next time I visit Waikiki.

  Comments: At Tomokos you can't really complain to much given the price. The apartment is right in Waikiki and much cheaper than a hotel. However, there are a few small changes that could and should be made to this unit. For instance, there is a 6 inch gap between the top of the door and the ceiling allowing the kitchen light to come pouring in at night. When I tried to turn it off one evening someone just turned it back on. It was nearly impossible to keep it dark. Second, the walls are paper thin. Sounds like people are drag racing outside the building at 2 am. So bring ear plugs. Mostly the gap above the door bothered me. Seems like a simple fix. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay. Thanks!

  Comments: If you’re looking for a quick and inexpensive place to sleep and shower in Waikiki without the prices of a fancy hotel, this is it! It is a simple place with no frills but it is definitely a steal when you compare prices to other options in downtown Waikiki. The checkin process was easy and straightforward - and Tomoko was quick to respond always. One note - if you’re a light sleeper this place is not for you (it gets LOUD at night with cars and people). Also, no AC - but the fan should do the trick for you in the room to keep you cool. Overall though, I would definitely recommend for single female travelers looking to spend their money on adventures instead of luxurious hotels.

Just 15 mins walking to Waikiki beach. It's in the middle of Waikiki. A lot of restaurants, DFS, International market place etc...they are walking distance. You could go almost everywhere you want to by walking. THE BUS takes you to this place from the airport for 1 hour without any transfers. Check in and out were super easy. The building is on the busy street so you'll hear a lot of sounds even late evening and early morning. However, it's very reasonable in the middle of Waikiki! Tomoko was a great host!

  Comments: Nice place if you're going to stay 1 or 2 days in Honolulu. Very noisy, but not because it's noisy outside, but because the windows are not like the windows we have back in Europe. Follow the instructions and the rules, and everything will be fine. + Best: Location. Parking was hard to find, but I ended up finding free parking Ala Wai Blvd. Try Eggs and Things for breakfast, 5 mins walk. Delish! Instructions are pretty clear, good recommendations from Tomoko. - Worst: Noisy. Windows not real windows and there was a noise coming from the kitchen, something like a smoke extractor that I couldn't figure out how to turn off.

  Comments: 기대 이상이었습니다 :) 장기 여행을 하느라 저렴한 숙소를 찾고 있었는데 방도 집도 깨끗하고 중심가에 있어서 편하게 지냈습니다. 다른 방 여행자들도 대부분 혼자 여행하는 일본인이어서 깨끗하고 조용했어요. 방은 무척 작습니다. 침대 옆 큰 캐리어 펼치면 끝. 그래도 테이블도 있고 옷걸이도 있고 책장도 있어 혼자 쓰는데 불편함은 없었습니다. 와이파이도 빨랐구요. 완벽한 숙소는 아니지만 가성비 대비 짱이라 생각합니다. 다음에 와도 머물 의사 있어요 :)

The wall of this room was a thin partition wall to the common area, and there was a large gap above the door, this wasn't an issue, however It did feel slightly less private and there was a lot of light coming in from the common area as those lights were never switched off. The pricing is fantastic and I really enjoyed mystay here, I would definitely stay in Tomokos place again.

  Comments: My experience at Tomoko's was honestly the best! As a first time international traveller, staying at Tomoko's all female apartment made me feel very safe. From the beginning prior to coming to my destination, Tomoko was very accomodating and helpful in regards to communication and answering questions with early check in. On arrival, I was fortunate enough to meet Tomoko as I was entering the apartment block and she helped me get the keys. She had clear instructions throughout our communication. The place was better than i expected! The room was so cute, and both room and bathroom was so clean! Bed was comfortable and there was also a fan in the room. Earplugs were available to use as it was quite noisy due to the thin walls but only used it on the first night as i got used to the outside noise quickly. I would definitely stay here again and recommend Tomoko's place for first time travellers or frequent solo travelers for an affordable, clean and awesome place to live that was only less than 7 minutes walk from Waikiki Beach. The apartment was 1 minute walk from a main bus stop and 2 minutes walk to the nearest ABC store and cafes! Overall 10/10 place to stay. Thank You Tomoko for everything!

  Comments: Tomoko's place is almost right on the beach, so the location is pretty good. There are shops around, bus stop and a bit further some good places to eat, too. The place is really cute with 4 bedrooms. I believe I had the smallest bedroom, which didn't bother me much as I mainly only used it for sleeping, maybe a tiny table and some light next to the bed for reading would help a bit, but these are really just some small extras. So the place is great and the host is great, too, very responsive and kind, helpful. I can recommend to book her place and if you have any questions just write her, she is happy to answer in a very timely manner!:)

If you are traveling with someone else and have luggage it could get crowded in the room. I think it is really good value, considering that it is just across the Ritz Carlton Hotel and the best areas in Waikiki.
