Neighborhood Overview: Upscale and quiet neighborhood. Listen to the sound of the ocean , watch tropical birds in your yard and pick some fresh fruits. The views are stunning. Surfing is the best in the world during the winter. Swimming, diving, snorkeling, hiking spots, amazing sunset views are just some of the gifts of staying on the North Shore. Can you walk to the beaches? Yes, you easily could, but I recommend taking your rental car. There is so much to see around the neighborhood, so many restaurants, food trucks, parks, stores, the beach with the turtles - parking is free and easy. The shoreline with a large Foodland Supermarket and a Coffee Bean Store, Pupukea Beach and Sharks Cove is less than a mile. Haleiwa Town or the Turtle Bay Hotel about 7 miles, Waimea Park, 1 1/2 miles, Sunset Beach 2-3 miles ( depending on where you go) The beach where you can swim with the turtles is 3 miles away. A boat tour to see sharks leaves from Haleiwa harbor (7 miles away) Enjoy horseback riding or a helicop

Notes: This is a true and very safe residential home and a local country neighborhood. People are friendly and the Aloha spirit governs here. Feel free to jog around the neighborhood. Don't worry about some barking dogs, you will love the homes around here and the views - it's really beautiful. Yes, we have mosquitos. The Northshore and Hawaii, in general is beautiful and green, it means we have rain, but mostly in the evening or during the night. It's important to keep the front door and bug screens closed to keep pest including mice out of the home. Twice a month my house is treated for pest, but you will always see Geckos and once in a while a cock roach. They are part of the inventory in any home and are harmless. Trash pick up is Wednesday morning and I would appreciate you putting the gray trash can out to the street on Tuesday night. Our water is clean and safe to drink, but I also provide ice cold drinking water to my guests, and you can find an additional container in the garage.

Transit: A rental car is the best solution to stay at this house. Public busses operate from Foodland and Kam Hwy. It's 1.1 mile walk up and down a hill to get there. (Hitchhiking is safe and used often)

Access: Guests have access to the entire home, but the owner has some personal items in the house. The house is your's alone to enjoy when rented.

Interaction: I would be happy to help whenever I can. I will be at my second apartment in Honolulu. I lived at the home I know rent at times for more than 25 years.

House Rules: Surfers, military, couples and single travelers (gay and straight) over 18 are welcome. Please discuss any parties or events planned prior to booking your room with the owner. There are additional requirements and cleaning charges for parties or events. This property is only available to NON-Hawaii residents.

Comments: Juergen was a very nice host, and his place was spatious and comfortable. We stayed for two days and got unlucky weather, so it was nice to have a relaxing living room kick back in. Juergen was actually not home very much. I believe he was just starting to rent the place out again, so he had bought new sheets, towels etc. The kitchen hadn't been used in a while, and there was a bit of dust and such around, otherwise, it was tidy enough and we were happy with our stay.

Comments: An amazing place in an incredible location right in the middle of the North Shore of Oahu!! It is the perfect place from which to explore the island and to view the famous waves!! Juergen is a very friendly and accommodating host and the room was perfect and the house amazing!! Unfortunately we did not meet him as he was away but he arranged everything for us to enter his house and our stay was perfect! There is a Foodland supermarket at the bottom of the road which is very convenient. The room was a good size and the double bed very comfortable! We highly recommend this place!!

Comments: Wow, what a special place to stay! Juergen is very kind, and his house overlooking the ocean is spectacular. I saw humpback whales jumping in the distance, and Chameleons climbing on the trees. If you are interested in visiting the North Shore, this a wonderful way to do it. The house works perfectly as a starting point for many fun North Shore activities, and there is a Foodland just down the street! Thanks Juergen :)

Comments: Great house and the view is amazing. Juergen was a great host, took good care of us and let us use the house as if we actually lived there with him. It was amazing. Thanks a lot for the espressos :) Mahalo!

Comments: This was lovely relaxing (Website hidden by Airbnb) is well located in North Island. The host is very relaxed person.

Comments: The room is very comfortable, the mattress is firm but not too hard and there are great pillows and high thread count clean sheets (Im very picky about these things!) You have a lock on your door, so there's an extra element of security. I think this is a good room for a single person but not so much a couple as the bed is squeaky so it could be rather embarrassing ;) I was traveling alone so I was a little nervous about staying with two people I didn't know but Juergen and his housemate Dimitri are extremely welcoming and made me feel very much at home. The location is wonderful, very easy to get to all the best parts of the North Shore. I would definitely stay here again.

Comments: Started our honeymoon at Juergen's home. The views from up on the cliff where his house is perched are stunning! He was very nice and even offered assistance when we had a little car trouble. Ample parking, great local knowledge and highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again next time we come to North Shore.

Comments: The view and privacy was perfect. We never saw the host so the place felt like our own. There is a washer and dryer, full kitchen, a beautiful living area and two bedrooms with three queen sized beds. The place was clean and well stocked with towels and linens.

Comments: Beautiful cabin-style home tucked on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Gorgeous sunsets, beautiful wrap around lanai. Very secluded and such a unique home. Beautiful art throughout the entire home. Sculptures, animals figurines, masks, statues - the artwork added an amazing vibe and feel to the entire place. Views from the living room were unbelievable. Views from the master bedrooms were just as good. The bed in the master bedroom was sooooo comfortable. The pillows along with the mattress made it feel like you were sleeping on a cloud! Water cooler in the kitchen was a very nice touch. Kitchen had all the amenities to prepare meals. Pictures were exactly as described.

Comments: Staying at Juergen's house was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii! It is the perfect location for those looking to hang around the North Shore area. It was a quick trip to the grocery store, beaches, etc. The area is private and quiet with outstanding views from the home. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Comments: Great location. House is older so expect some things to be worn. Comfy beds. Great views. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Very fast responses to any questions. Excellent value. Overall great stay and would stay again.

Comments: This place has amazing views and character in a truly great location. The only downside is it it tired and could do with a good spruce up. If your not too fussy then this is the place for you. Jorgen Is a great host and very responsive

Comments: Gorgeous view. Big, open house up the hill. A bit rustic, but has the basics. Car recommended to get to the beach/town. Very peaceful area up in the treetops overlooking the beautiful ocean. Be prepared for some bugs and geckos since you’re in nature, but overall a gorgeous spot to relax looking out at the ocean.

Comments: We had a great week at juergens place. It was a big house on the hills in Pupkea, only 1 mile from Foodland, but driving is much safer than walking down the narrow, whindy road to get to kamehameha hwy (main road to beaches). The house is made of all wood which was beautiful and unique. It has a lot of character and the location offers an amazing view of waimea sunset area. The house is a lil older (but clean and tidy) so expect a real hawaiian style vacation. The ac units in each room didnt do much for us but most of the fans worked out well. Some of the lights didnt work so if these things matter to you i think they would accomodate with a simple request for bulbs ahead of time. We were okay with the lights we had but upstairs was a little dim at times. The hosto was great responding to everything right away. He even treated us to dinner since he had to get the washer replaced, which was super prompt. Usually id prefer to stay closer to the beach but this location was so close to everything that it was a nice change of pace, and nice to be so close to northshore beaches (waimea, sunset, rockys) as opposed to being in waialua, where i stay usually. Overallourstay was great! Clean house, lots of towels, great view, new washer AND dryer!! Supersafe.garage doesnt close but doesnt need to since its a safe area.

Comments: A few of my friends and I stayed in this beautiful home on our vacation to Hawaii and we had such a wonderful experience. Amazing view, cabin-like feel to the home, serene, and very quick responses. I highly recommend this place to everyone!! Juergen had a beautiful home and he was a great host. Thank you!

  • Reviewer: Travis

Comments: Juergens house was great, just what we were expecting. Close access to many beaches, especially with a rental car, beautiful wrap around porch was used every night to sit and watch the sunsets and enjoy the quiet nights.

  • Reviewer: Jake

Comments: The home is located on the hillside near Sharks Cove. The views are breathtaking. Home is very spacious with everything you need. Don’t be afraid of the bugs, you’re in the jungle growth, and we were visited by some little Pigs in the morning. Juergen’s commuication and respond was outstanding and he has been one of our favorite host. I now understand why he is a super host.

  • Reviewer: Eve Marissa

Comments: This place, the view, the host—it’s awesome! Needs some TLC in the bathroom area, but spent the weekend in north shore for a stay cation and it really just fit the bill for our group spacious and private! Right up the mountain (2min) from Foodland and world known beaches! The host was nice enough to bring a blender by in the middle of the night when asked if he had one, and didn’t. That’s super-host status right there!! The view and character of the house is unforgettable, and we will be back soon! Mahalo, Juergen!!!

  • Reviewer: Sara

Comments: Staying at Juergen’s place was great fun! The sunset on the deck is beautiful and the visits from the pigs were always good fun. It was exactly as I expected and the location is great! (Rental car is a must in the North Shore) If I had to offer any suggestions it would be to put fly screens on the sliding doors so they can be left open during the night to let in the beautiful sea breeze that cools the house down!

Comments: Our family of 6 stayed at Juergen's for 8 days. The view was stunning and conveniently located- close to great beaches. During our stay we had a couple questions and he was very quick to respond.

  • Reviewer: LaTisha

Comments: This house was disguesting. Termites in sink and cupboards. M8ce turds in cupboards. Freezer was full of frost to point it was unusable. Garbage all over garage and deck. Thw place stunk. AC unit did not work. Frayed electrical cords plugged in. We do not recommend this place. Took host almost 12 hours to respond. We left and found other accomendations.

Comments: Ein super Haus an einer fantastischen Örtlichkeit. Leider schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen!

  • Reviewer: Milton

Comments: Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Great location and views from the lanai. However, we had a bit of issues with cleanliness of the house and some of the lighting fixtures were not able to work.

  • Reviewer: Hillarie

Comments: Loved the location, it's right in the heart of North Shore. Close to great beaches, groceries, shopping, and things to do. Loved that we could go surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, shopping, and have great food so close to the house. It is about a mile up the hill from the beach so you have gorgeous views of the ocean and sunsets with the wrap around deck. Geckos all over the place, which my kids loved. At the bottom of the hill was a grocery store which was great. The house is in the country side of the island with winding roads so it was a bit hard to find when we got in after dark but Juergen was super helpful in finding it and answered right away when I called. His place reminds me of a little surfer's bungalow. Totally gives a great island vibe. Definite value for the price and highly recommend.

Comments: Great spot on the North Shore. Foodland is right down the road along with several public beaches. The view from the deck is amazing and the inside is beautiful. Juergen is very nice and responsive to messages. A++

  • Reviewer: Eva

Comments: Our stay was great. Just expect no door connecting the upstairs room to the rest of the house. There will definitely be bugs, but the house is overall beautiful in itself. The downstairs bathroom will tend to clog. It's not exactly the cleanest house, but there is character within and if you don't mind that then you will definitely enjoy this home.

Comments: Juergen’s place provided a truly rustic feel if you’re looking for an “out-in-the-woods” kind of feel for your stay. The house was spacious and old-fashioned. Different from most stylish houses. Juergen was helpful and responsive when assistance was required. It was pleasant communicating with him.
