  Comments: Marie var ett mycket bra värd. Hon tog hand om mig från dag 1. Allt jag behövde veta om staden , hon var mycket vänlig och informerade mig allt jag behövde veta om hushållet och området. Framför allt så är det är väldigt fin lägenhet rent och snyggt. Jag fick ett väldigt bra bemötande och uppskattar verkigen allt hon har gjort för mig, Stort utbud härligt område nära Subway på 2 minuters avstånd. du har apollo 10 minuter gång avstånd. Du har harlems shopping gata på 125 street som är bara endast ca 5 minuter gång avstånd. Väldigt centralt och lätt att ta sig överallt med bussar och tåg. Nästa gång jag besöker New york så är det Marie jag kommer definitivt bo hos så länge det finns ett ledigt rum att hyra Ja rekommenderar Marie väldigt starkt!!

  Comments: Marie was friendly and accommodating, and made my 2nd trip to NYC and 1st time using Airbnb a great experience! The bed was comfortable and the hot shower in the morning helped after walking for miles each day! She also made coffee and I was free to store items in the fridge. The place was clean and pretty quiet for NYC, with so much activity going on. A decent location, especially if you love Puerto Rican food! Yum! Very close to a bus stop and only 1 1/2 blocks from the train going Uptown or Downtown.

  Comments: My host was unequivocally accommodating and extended the finest hospitality one could ask for. She was thorough and explicit with her instructions, making it very easy for me to go about my schedule without any conflict or confusion. On top of that, our conversation in the few times our schedules overlapped was refreshing and truly inspiring. The neighborhood is amazing and very easy to access in terms of pubic transportation.   Comments: My stay was perfect. I was expecting for a comfortable bed and a good bathroom in a quiet neighborhood. All of three aspects have fully met my expectations. The apt is located in a safe place, only 1 1/2 blocks from the green Metro line. Then it´s only a 15 minutes ride to most attractions in Manhattan. I had also the opportunity to interact with Marie, who is a very smart and nice person who will make everything possible for you to have a great stay. Highly recommended!

La cama es muy cómoda y lo mejor de todo es que el cuarto da a un patio interior y es muy silencioso y tranquilo (lo que no es fácil en el East Harlem).   Comments: This is going to be a mixed review. I never met Marie, which was kind of strange since she lives in this apartment. I stayed there for 3 nights. Every night I wondered where she would sleep since there's only one bedroom and one bed. Maybe the sofa in the living room is a sofa bed where she sleeps when there's a guest? That kind of puzzled me. Marie always answered my e-mails and was kind enough to let me bring my stuff before the check in time. She gave me instructions on how to open the apartment but I didn't get clear instructions on how to enter the building. I was very lucky that another airbnb couple staying in another apartment opened the door for me, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to open the building door. The apartment itself is tiny but comfortable. The bed is very comfortable and theres a fan for hot nights. Marie only provided a towel and nothing else. I was lucky I had a bar of soap. There's a tv that can't be watched by guests because there's no control. I wasn't sure if I could use the fridge and kitchen so I ate out. There's plenty of cheap restaurants around, mostly mexican. The neighborhood is quite rough and dirty. It didn't feel very safe especially at night. It's mostly a dominican-mexican neighborhood. The building is very old and shabby but the apartment is quite nice and cozy. Access to buses and metro station was great. Only two blocks to the metro.

  Comments: I feel lucky to have stayed at Marie's place. It was my first time in NYC and I was there just for the weekend. She welcomed me to the place when I arrived and explained routes & attractions around the city so I could plan accordingly. The apartment is as described and in a convenient location.   Comments: Marie's place is in a great location in East Harlem - a really quick walk to the 116th & Lexington subway station and close to some great restaurants and bars offering live music in the center of Harlem. I love that it's located in a less tourist-y spot; grabbing a bite to eat on the way to the subway was inexpensive and delicious. Then Marie herself is a great host! I got in pretty late my first night, and she was so kind and conversant even though I'd woken her up. She provided me all kinds of ideas for sightseeing, and we had some really good conversations besides. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Marie!

Marie's place is a bargain and a terrific option for short visits to New York City. I had a very comfortable stay in her compact, clean, and cozy apartment, and enjoyed meeting and speaking with Marie during my stay. She was very easy to reach and helpful, and I had everything I needed while staying at her place. I was really pleased with the location as I didn't feel stuck in a tourist trap, and it was overall a genuine and fun experience— I appreciated being able to explore East Harlem before heading further south in Manhattan to do other things. I'm very glad I found Marie's listing and was able to stay with her during my trip.

  Comments: The place was great, ideal for a short stay. It's a compact appartment, just as described. The area feels safe, I got to know the area a bit by walking the neighborhood several blocks from the apartment, including during the evening. Marie was very nice and accommodating. If you come by car, there is a reasonably priced parking garage a few blocks away (545 East 116th Street) where you can keep your car safely for under $20/day.

  Comments: Loved staying in East Harlem! Loved the diversity of this area. Marie's place is a stone's throw from the subway and has some cheap and TASTY Mexican restaurants nearby (one just next door and Hot Jalapeños opposite). Marie was very friendly, accomodating for a last minute change in my circumstances and a great conversationalist to chat with. She provides bed linen, fresh towels and her shower was great! I was out all day, every day - so often I left when she was still asleep. She didn't mind me tip toeing past her from my bedroom to the bathroom whilst she was asleep on the sofa. They say NYC is the city that never sleeps... if this is your first time to NYC then assume on eating out for your 3 meals a day. Marie let me leave milk and some fruit in the fridge which was great for an evening snack :)

  Comments: I am a professional working student who needed this place last minute for work in NYC for a week. Host hid the fact she didn't have her own room and slept on the couch outside. Was very very uncomfortable with this. Wish I was told beforehand host would sleep on the couch for the week. The keys did not work and I had to buzz in everytime to the apt which took 5 mins and was dangerous in east harlem. Host kept the apartment and bathroom very very dirty, the water was chalky white which got me sick, and there was no heat. The host also blasted the tv loudly and was incredibly rude to me. I ended up leaving a day early because it was too much. Please do not stay here, it was the worst experience and very unprofessional.

  Comments: This is the best place to stay in Uptown. It has reasonable price and good decorations. The location is also good, only 4 minutes walk to a subway station. The problem is that it is an old building and may suffer from heat system problem and other problems old buildings may have. Marie is very friendly and responsive to my need when dealing with problems. This makes me feel like at home.

The place is small but perfect for people who are out and about most of the day.   Comments: This place is located in a part of East Harlem where the latino community seems to have a strong presence. The neighborhood is not fancy but it is safe and quiet. It is somewhat far away from downtown but there is a subway stop just two blocks away so you can be anywhere downtown easily. There are many shops in the area and some banks also. The apartment is comfortable and I would say that it is perfect for one guest. Marie, the host, is very nice, quiet, open minded and friendly so my staying was really pleasant. If I have to go back to New York I would definitely try to stay at her place again.

  Comments: Spent three nights Marie's! Location was phenomenal. Target, 7-Eleven, Wendy's and two 24 hour Spanish Restaurants all less than a 10 minute walk. I couldn't think of a better location for late night stops and quick bites. The 2, 3 and 6, 4, 5 subway were also a 10 minute walk. Marie was welcoming, friendly, good conversationalist and overall a genuine person. Very responsive to messages. She even waited up to 3AM when my friend and I arrived. Bed was comfortable, had walking room with 2 luggage bags and a backpack! Definitely 100% would stay here again! :)

The apartment is on the small side (this is Manhattan), but despite the close quarters, the room you stay in is comfortable and surprisingly private (Marie sleeps on the couch in the adjacent living area but you won't even know she's there). The pictures were accurate. I came during the winter, and the room can get a little hot when the heating is on (there's a radiator next to the be bed that can't be controlled). The 6 line is located close by, giving easy access to the rest of the city. Marie is very friendly and accommodating host. I enjoyed talking with her. She even saved me from a wrinkled suit by letting me use her steamer!

We are thinking of moving to New York soon, and she made us feel not only accepted but supported and cared for. Her place was clean and organized, without being veneer-like as some Airbnb homes can be. The subway is an easy block and a half away that will take you all the way to lower Manhattan. Definitely check out Doña Maty’s right downstairs for the best late night tacos and quesadillas. The area is quite busy, but we felt safe at all times. Would absolutely recommend her place to anyone staying in New York. A stellar value!

The room was comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom (although a little cramped). You’re steps away from the subway (Line 6) and Citi rental bikes! The apartment is close to the subway and you can go downtown very quickly, and living in Harlem is much cheeper than in midtown - highly recommend this for your stay in New York.   Comments: Everything at Caroline’s place is exactly as it is described. She is very nice and also Lucky (her dog)!, always with a smile to help anything we needed. The location is pretty good, it is less than 2 blocks to the nearest subway station and it takes 15 minutes or less to get to the downtown by metro. The only thing to improve is to have a fan or ac in to the room, because at night it were about 30 Celsius degrees and it’s difficult for sleeping or just staying at least for us but apart from that everything was ok! Immediate neighborhood pretty safe and busy through the early evening but about 6 blocks west it is a little sketchy if you are taking the subway back after 9pm coming up the west side. Good value and close to the subway stop for east side of Manhattan.
