Comments: Wow, what a great location and wonderful, upscale condo in Chelsea, right next to the new Highline elevated park. Arthur is a remarkable Man, knowledgeable, friendly, warm-hearted and makes you feel at-home. You can use the living room, kitchen, etc., while viewing the high-line out the rear windows. The location is great for transportation access around the City by subway, bus or cab. Chelsea has become a hotbed of art, outdoor activities and of course you have the wonderful Joyce Theater nearby. The Red Cat is a great place to eat and have a drink, it's located downstairs. I will certainly visit Art's wonderful condo again and highly recommend it to others.

Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the HighLine B & B and our host Arthur. If we had to live in NYC this is would be the place, it is centrally located, close for walks along the Hudson River and minutes to the subway and Chelsea. Our walk along the Highline (even in Winter) was breathtaking. Our Host was extremely helpful in navigating our way through the city, providing maps and great instructions. The accommodations were very comfortable and we felt welcomed and at home. A light breakfast with coffee and orange juice was available. We used the living room with the fireplace at night to unwind from the day. We would highly recommend a stay here and look forward to coming back in the future.

Comments: Arthur & Ed are the consummate hosts. Their Chelsea space is beyond lovely: immaculately clean, stylish, centrally located and cozy. We felt at home from the moment we arrived and they were quick to lend us a hand at every turn, from restaurant recos to subway directions to colorful local history. Also, the mini flat screen in the bedroom was a great added touch. Can't recommend more - thanks again to our amazing hosts & new friends!

Comments: This is the best apartment I've ever found on Airbnb and the host Arthur was wonderful! The room was very clean. The living room was very cozy and the entire apartment was very artistic. Arthur was very nice in offering help in every single way and even provided coffee and breakfast for us. The location is super because it's only 2 blocks away from subway and it's not noisy at all even though it's situated on the second floor in a commercial district. There are bars and restaurants just around the corner so eating out at late night is not a problem at all. I will definitely recommend this apartment to everyone!

-- We had great time in Art & Ed's apartment. They are lovely people, warming (we shared at least 2 time a glass of wine, had great discussions and they provided some good tips to visit the quarter), very interesting, but also very discrete. Their apartment is comfortable and we were there like at home. It's a very well situated (only 2 blocks away from the subway line A,C,E, 23rd street) and convenient apartment. This part of the city (Chealsy) is a newly renovated quarter full of art gallery and news spots very interesting like the High-line. We will definitely warmly recommend this apartment and will probably come back soon.

Comments: Having never used airbnb before we were slightly nervous but Arthur soon put paid to that. He was a brilliant communicator from the start and continued to be until our departure. His level of service was impeccable from the perfect directions to reach his place, to carrying our huge suitcases up the stairs, to the breakfast provided and the cheese and wine in the evenings over interesting conversation. The apartment is stunning. We had free reign over the living room, kitchen and bathroom and our room was adequate with 2 single beds. Arthur is in the process of renovating the apartment too with new carpets etc. so it will be even better on our return and a 5* establishment. We highly recommend a visit.

Comments: I honestly could not have asked for a better host for my first trip to NYC! Arthur (and Ed) are gifted hosts, and made my father and I as comfortable as could be. The space was immaculately clean, and they even took it upon themselves to change our sheets and waste baskets halfway through our stay. There was always coffee in the morning and a few breakfast items so you could quickly run out the door and see the city. Ed even picked up some soy milk for me, which was above and beyond the call of duty! They are highly perceptive, and I have no doubt that they effortlessly adapt to each new guest and his or her unique needs. When I arrived, Arthur took me on a tour of Chelsea and gave me some pointers on how best to get around the city, as well as a few maps and restaurant/landmark recommendations. Arthur truly will be involved as much (or as little) as you'd like him to be, and he and Ed were an absolute joy to be around--great attitudes, highly knowledgeable, infinitely helpful. The apartment was in a great location, near subway and bus lines, and surprisingly peaceful. When I told Arthur that my father snored, he quickly pointed out that there were ear plugs and a sound machine in the room to help me out. Literally a life saver. Overall, I can't say enough wonderful things.

Comments: An oasis in the middle of Chelsea! The apartment is just as expected; spacious, cozy, very relaxing and private and location just can't be beaten. With a full view of the high line! We were greeted upon arrival with a cheeseboard, wine and a blazing fire. Ed and Arthur proved to be excellent hosts and helped us in any way they could to navigate our way around. It made our stay in New York all the more relaxing and fun. We were sad to leave! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with them and will return.

Comments: Arthur saved my trip and I won't stay anywhere else next time I'm in NY. He went out his ways to help out my problem with Airbnb (despite which I still need to thank Airbnb for meeting them) and made my stay in NY a perfect ending for this trip. Their panhouse apartment is awesomely located. you can see the high line park from the window, and bus stop right across the street, subway station 2 blocks away. They have 2 very proud cats, who don't bother anyone. The bathroom is separate and super clean. The bedroom is really cosy with 2 beds, perfect for a couple. I love the big kitchen, where I had the most interesting conversations. Mostly l listened because they tell great stories. I highly recommend Arthur's place as your NY stop for knowing both the people and the city there.

Comments: Sublime is the word to describe Arthur's apartment! I spent four nights there with my brother and I wouldn't go anywhere else for a future trip in New York. I never thought I could find such a large, quiet and beautiful place to stay in New York. Arthur is an amazing guest! He welcomed us with beer and wine, provided more than everything we needed for our stay, and offered us a lot of really good recommendations and interesting stories. We had a terrific time!

Comments: Our trip to NYC was amazing, thanks to the wonderful stay at Arthur (and Eds) appartement! It was very clean, quit and the location is perfect (next to the wonderful High line, near to bus&metro and a lot of nice restaurants at walking distance.) I think there are no better hosters than Arthur and Ed! So friendly, shared everything with use, made great reservations for bars and restaurants and really opend there home for us. If you want an unforgatteble trip to NYC than you must stay here, I can recommend it to everybody!!!

Comments: We (my 14 year old son and I) received 5-star service while staying at Arthur & Ed's place on 10th Avenue. It is a wonderful location, the apartment is super-clean and Arthur & Ed did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They are a generous couple. The room was cosy, we had our own bathroom - and we also practically had the kitchen and lounge to ourself too! Despite Arthur & Ed's giving us the utmost privacy, we became friends and hope to see them again another time. What more can you say than that?

  • Reviewer: Martin

Comments: For a first stay in NYC, that was a great one! It'll be difficult to find more awesome guests than Arthur & Ed. They set the bar very high. First, the location: Chelsea district ideally located for all south Manhattan points of interest (from Freedom Tower to Central Park). The flat itself is really great: private room and bathroom with a nice view on the Highline. The other rooms are nice too ... and the rooftop! Not an high one like on other buildings but still nice to enjoy. Concerning Arthur and Ed, they gave us so many addresses where to enjoy the city as New Yorkers. We had the opportunity to enjoy some dinners with them and their friends, yet another way to enjoy good time with locals. They were very keen to answer to any of our questions, discuss about the city, ... To sum up, the next trip to NYC should lead to Arthur & Ed's once more!

Comments: My stay at Arthur and Ed's beautiful home was the best I've ever had on Airbnb! The apartment itself is incredble, and located in one of the most scenic areas of New York. Arthur and Ed made the trip, though! They were the two most accommodating and kind hosts I've ever had, and went out of their way to not only make sure I felt comfortable but to give me incredible tips and tricks as to how best to settle into New York. Ed even made me a list of apartments for me to look at for when I move there. Now that I've been to Arthur and Ed's, I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

Comments: Art & Ed's penthouse is amazing. We couldn't ask for a better place to start our holiday in New York City. Their apartment is just next to the famous Highline and within the vicinity of the historical part of Chelsea. Art & Ed have beautifully styled the interior and filled their home with so much character. Art & Ed are really pleasant and accommodating that we felt so much at home as guest. We are so thankful to have known them and to have the privilege to share a place in their home. Thanks guys!

Comments: What a fabulous find! We recently moved from the City & were looking for a place to stay that would feel more like "home" again. Well, we found it! We need return to Manhattan often for medical appointments, theater, opera, meeting with friends, etc. This is the perfect solution. Arthur and Ed are the most welcoming of hosts. Our room was comfortable and quiet. They even obtained reservations for us at a popular restaurant! An assortment of breakfast foods was available to us. We give On Highline our highest recommendation! Thank you Arthur and Ed.

Comments: Although my stay with Arthur and Ed was extremely short I appreciate their flexibility with my time of arrival. Upon arrival I was taken on a tour of their beautiful house. The room that I stayed in was immaculate as was the bathroom. I am so grateful for the hospitality and conversation. Would definitely recommend!

Comments: Arthur and Ed were wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and oriented in the city. They also gave us some great tips about good local places to eat and visit. Our room had 2 very comfortable single beds. Each against a tall window overlooking the High Line! We stayed two nights, took in the city, walked a ton, ate and had drinks at some of Art and Ed's recommended spots. We loved our trip!

Comments: Art and Ed are exceptional hosts and sharing with them for my first trip to New York City has made my experience truly amazing! (this was also my first AirBnB experience!) Their flat is really well located with regards to public transport. It is very nicely thought out architecturally and arranged. The beds are very comfortable and everything has to be positive in all honesty! The area is rather quiet and very arty-like with galleries and slightly avant-garde buildings. Art and Ed were happy to guide me through parts of the city, help me plan my days etc. They are very kind and considerate, we had lots of interesting chats at breakfast and other times when going out together. I would not even think of any other accommodation when I return to NYC! I met Art and Ed as strangers and we left as friends!

  • Reviewer: Fritz

Comments: Arthur was a very accommodating host. He's so well-versed on NYC, especially the Westside, that it's like having a free tour guide with your room. For couples to note, the room is two separate single beds.

  • Reviewer: Angela

Comments: The apartment was exactly as described online - the room was great for our week long stay, our private bathroom was beautiful and spotlessly clean, the kitchen contained everything one could wish for, and breakfast was super (in particular the coffee ;-)). The location of the apartment in Chelsea, right next to the High Line, is absolutely perfect to explore Manhattan and the rest of NYC. If you plan to extend your trip, the Megabus station with many destinations in the North-East (we traveled to Philadelphia for $7!) is only a 10 minute-walk away. But all these comments on the room would not suffice to guide any future guests with respect to their decision for this place. Maybe more important are Art and Ed who were so much more than AirBnB hosts. They welcomed us like family/friends and were more than happy to share their experiences and recommendations for restaurants, bars, museums and all the little special things that you will never find in any travel guide. Thus, they helped us immeasurably to get the most from our lovely week in New York - thanks again for this! We had the impression that we arrived as guests and left as friends, a truly wonderful experience. Angela & Chris

Comments: I just cannot say enough good things about my stay at Ed and Arthur's place! They are both very caring and super friendly. Arthur teaches at the University I graduated from! so great! They both kept in touch as I was working my way to New York and gave me detail information on how to take transport. Ed, the bakeries you recommended were amazing! I look forward to my next visit to New York and a stay at Highline.

Comments: What can we say? Our new friends Art and Ed created a soothing and tranquil atmosphere right amidst the throb of an exciting urban surround. 'Art' and 'Ed' are apt names for these gracious hosts - they possess true art for hospitality and are an educative source for the history and personality of NYC. Our stay was met with thoughtful anticipation of all our needs - no matter how trivial - and a smiling enthusiasm for exceeding them. We had complete privacy when we desired and thrilling humorous contact when we wanted. We could not have enjoyed such ease, comfort, privacy, good cheer and insight in this city staying anywhere else.

Comments: Our stay at ON HIGHLINE exceeded all expectations. The layout of Arthur Tang's house lends itself well for the privacy of the guest quarters but still offering full access to his beautifully furnished large living room and kitchen. The sleeping area is completely quiet and it looks out onto the Highline Park, an amazing civic accomplishment, where I ran every other day. Our five stars apply not only to the location and the amenities of the place, but also, and especially, to our host himself. Arthur is an interesting and multi-faceted man. He's very knowledgeable about the area and conscientious about his guests' comforts. This was our first time to use AirBnB, and we could not have been happier. We look forward to repeating this experience. David and Jim

Comments: I realise I need to post this review in two parts - the apartment and the host The apartment is stylish, elegant and there is plenty of room to relax in the kitchen and the lounge room, the bedroom is spacious and the beds are really comfortable. The location is drop-dead fabulous!! Close to the subway and cross town bus and in the heart of lovely Chelsea. We were there in summer and arriving home (yes it felt like home) each afternoon was like walking into a cool inviting haven. The hosts - how can you review people that are now your friends? Ed and Art are generous hosts and lovely men. They are intelligent, funny and insightful and over a glass of wine we shared many fascinating stories and a lot of laughs. They know the city inside out and provided lots of local knowledge. With Ed and Art you will never feel like like a number (or a $$) you will feel like part of the family. We already miss them. If you want an authentic and memorable New York experience start by booking your accommodation here!!

Comments: Staying at Arthur and Ed's house was an unforgettable experience. It was not just a rent a roon at airbnb. It was much more than that: socializing with loving people, polite, fun, caring and know how to care very well. They provided me with tips in town that I would never find out without their help. Left wonderful friends in New York and for sure I will be with them again. Guys, you are great!

Comments: I had a GREAT time staying with Arthur and Ed in their lovely Highline Home, which was all they said it would be and more. They could not have been more hospitable. Five of five stars for them, their home, and the popular and artistic Chelsea district. One of the best features of my stay there was the ease with which I could access the Highline at any time up to 11 PM. Try this special urban walk on a warm evening with a bright moon and you will be hooked! Lee

Comments: This is a great space. The whole apartment is lovely and very conveniently located. It was nice being right by the Highline. There's plenty to do nearby and it is easy to get east west and north south from this location. Arthur was away during my stay, but he is an immediate email responder and made everything easy in terms of travel planning. Ed and Lea were most accommodating. As others have mentioned, Ed has a profound love of NYC and a delightful story teller. The only thing I would mention as a potential drawback is that they do have two cats who are lovely, Castor and Pollox, but people with cat allergies should be aware of that. My own allergies are minor, but was still affected.

Comments: It was our first time in NY and we are so lucky and happy that we had a chance to meet Arthur and Ed and stay at their fabulous pent-house! Their place is really nice and clean. Best location in NY, close to everything! And at the same time it is also in a quite spot, where you can enjoy a deep sleep, which is kind of rare in NY. Art and Ed are very kind and will do their best to make your stay in NY perfect. They helped us with the surroundings and gave wonderful tips how to experience the local lifestyle in NY. They also helped us with our next trips to other parts in the US, very helpful tips! Thanks to Art and Ed, our first impression of NY is fantastic!

Comments: We had an absolute wonderful time staying at Arthur and Ed's place. Ed was such a welcoming host, making us feel at home straight away. Also very accomodating about dropping off our luggage early which made it easy for us. The room was lovely, super soft sheets with lots of thoughtful little touches like a personalised map of the city, a DVD set on the history of New York and even a white noise machine. Beats staying at a hotel any day!

Comments: Art and Ed are very congenial, hospitable and go out of their way to assist. The location is very convenient and the environment appealing. The room, while not large is pleasant and clean, so is the bathroom. The room is in fact situated inside Art and Eds's apartment, with other participants. While this did not disturb us, this fact is not clear from the advance description on your site.

Comments: Arthur and Ed are great hosts. They are very friendly and very pleasant to talk to. They have given me great advices about what is to do around. The room is very comfy, the bathroom is great. All is very clean. I slept very well in the bed. The window to the room is looking to the highline. It is not only green and pleasant to look at, it also means that, for New York, it is not too loud at night. To sum it up, I really felt like home and I hope the room will be free when I come back next time! Oh yes, and Arthur speaks perfect French which was really helpful as I was too tired to speak English when I arrived... :)

Comments: This was my daughter and my first trip to New York. We LOVED the location!!! Away from the commotion of Times Square and close enough to the subway for our daily trips around New York. The apartment was clean and Ed and Art were the perfect hosts. They made suggestions of sites we might want to visit, and restaurants to go to. Thanks again to both of them for making us feel so comfortable in their home :)

Comments: Location. Location. Location. About as good as it gets in Chelsea. Literally next to the High Line, a couple of blocks to the subway, a great restaurant (Red Cat) downstairs, a friendly wine bar (Drunken Horse) next door, a cool art gallery two doors down, walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go, etc., etc. The house, room and bath were all immaculately clean and stylishly decorated. Plus Art and Ed were fantastic hosts -- about the most down to earth Manhattanites I've ever met. Overall, a great stay!

Comments: Our experience at Eds and Arts place was great! We stayed almost a week at their place. From the beginning, we were welcomed and we felt ''at home''. Both hosts are very helpful to show their city and tell about their experiences. At the mornings, we got the real American breakfast, made by them selves and that was lovely. The location could not be better. 5 to 10 minutes walk to blue and red lines and 15 minutes walk to the Chelsea market! We definitely recommend staying with these friendly people! When we were back home we missed them even a little.

The location is great, it is very close to Manhattan's tourist attractions and close to buses and the subway. Comments: My sister & I spent two nights with Art & Ed, and wished we could've stayed longer. Their place was everything we expected it to be and more. Their home was clean and beautifully appointed; the bedroom was comfortable, quiet, and we both slept well. But, it was the "lagniappe" (that something extra) that made our visit there so special: Art & Ed were very attentive, warm, and generous with their time and space. They made our stay in Chelsea one we will always remember. Thank you both very much!! We look forward to seeing you again sometime.

Comments: We arrived to a crackling fire, a beautifully decorated tree, and candle light throughout the spacious and elegant living room. This is a really gorgeous home, in a great location, which would cost a fortune in it's entirety but is available for the price of a modest bedroom. Ed and Art could not have made us feel more welcome. They are the consummate New York hosts full of knowledge and suggestions and were so generous with their time and hospitality. We had more than everything we could possibly need or want in our brief stay and feel we left with two new NY friends.

Comments: Art and Ed's home is a beautiful, classic NYC brownstone with high ceilings, tall windows, fireplace, and large kitchen. It is centered in the heart of Chelsea, in the heart of the art gallery district. And the new darling of NYC, the High Line, struts across the back windows of this home. You are surrounded in beauty and right in the midst of Chelsea. Art and Ed are gracious people. Throughout our stay, they gave us a mixture of privacy and entertainment. They are storytellers and art collectors. In front of their fireplace, I learned from their stories and from their art books the history of many successful artists. This was a perfect segue from these stories and out to the galleries right around the corner. Art and Ed are kind as well. My husband came down with a sinus cold while staying with them. Ed made his famous chicken soup - twice - for my husband. Art and Ed are lovely people and this is a lovely place to stay.

Comments: Great location with direct acces to High Line, nice neighbourhood, very nice hosts that can speak French :-) and give great tips, the house is very cute and well maintained, high quality bed. All you need for a perfect stay in magic New York city. I was there 3 nights with my friend and two on my own.

Comments: A match made in heaven. Art & Ed go out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable. As an older couple, we liked the separate twin beds which were very comfortable though the room is small. The private bath was clean and stocked with quality products. Lots of variety in breakfast products, and free run of the well equipped kitchen. We spent evenings enjoying a fire in the living room and talking to our hosts. Chelsea is a vibrant neighborhood, close to public transportation and many restaurants. Our bedroom overlooked the Highline, the old elevated railway which has been converted to a lovely walkway. Our hosts were generous, thoughtful and very helpful suggesting places to go and things to do. This was truly a 5 star experience.

A bientot!

Comments: Art and Ed couldn't be better hosts. We arrived tired and hungry after a long journey from Australia to be greeted with a roaring fire, two very welcoming hosts and the offer of dinner! We had a great evening and this set us up perfectly for the rest of our stay. The apartment itself was beautiful: great location (quiet and central), very comfortable, and Art and Ed are amazingly thoughtful with all the little extras they do for you. We would both love to stay there again.

Comments: Me and my sister had the most fantastic of times staying at Arthur & Ed's place when visiting NYC. We were greeted so warmly, the room and rest of apartment were everything claimed to be and more, and we were so comfortable throughout our stay. Arthur and Ed definitely both helped to make our experience in New York memorable; sharing history and stories and recommending good spots for food, coffees and art. This in addition to making sure we had everything we needed around the house and making us feel very at home. We were sad to leave and look forward to going back to New York and would choose this stay again without any doubt!

Comments: You will be treated well and be very happy if you get to stay on the Highline with Art and Ed. Their listing is deservedly popular because of the location which provides great access to the entire city from the N-S Blue Line subway stop and the cross-town #23 bus just around the corner. The Chelsea neighborhood itself is great, especially if you like galleries and want to explore the fabulous Highline (the best thing to happen to NYC since Central Park). But the real treat here are your hosts, Ed and Arthur, who do everything and more to make your stay the best it can be. From the beginning we were treated like friends rather than lodgers. They were generous with information, fun stories, kitchen use, recommendations and their time. For us, always, our travel experiences are shaped by the people we meet along the way. Getting to know Art and Ed was one of the highlights of five fabulous days in NYC.

Comments: Our recent stay with Ed & Arthur far exceeded our highest expectations. Every attempt was made to make our visit exceptional. Prior to my wife and I coming they sought out what we might need or want to make us most comfortable. Our room overlooked the scenic HighLine walkway and we had access to their spacious living room area & kitchen. Ed was a most gracious and entertaining host (Art was away) who was always available to help. We never felt more at ease and comfortable. During our stay we also had a lot of privacy. Almost felt liked we lived there. Everything about Ed & Arthur's airbnb was well organized, very clean, efficient, and personable. We now won't stay anywhere else in NYC!

Comments: Art and Ed are lovely, they really know how to make guests feel welcome. The apartment is so close to the Highline (a real highlight and retreat from the pace of the City), which makes the location wonderful. The room is very comfortable, the bathroom total luxury, and the rest if the apartment is gorgeous too. The hosts' living space is upstairs which gives them, as well as guests, plenty of privacy. Everything was wonderful regarding communication and checking in/out, all easy and stress-free. The breakfast was a welcome touch too! Perfect for a slower paced start to the busy NYC days. My stay couldn't have been better and I was really glad to be able to sit down with Art on my last morning and have a great chat. I'd definitely visit again. No hesitation!

Comments: My daughter and I had lovely time staying with Art and Ed. The room was perfect for us and the air conditioning kept us cool as the temperature increased. Our private bathroom was very welcome and the breakfast provided was excellent. We used the subway frequently and the apartment was only a few minutes walk away and the High-Line took us to one of our favourite areas of town. The boys were very gracious and even went out and bought us mint tea ! A great experience.

Luciana e Renzo

Comments: A great location in a relaxed yet vibrant part of New York. Very close to the blue metro line A,C,E, ideal to connect directly with JFK Airport, World Trade Center, 42nd Street, various Broadway sections and Times Square, Central Park and the Museum of Natural History, The MoMa, 5th Avenue and Rockefeller Center... The high line, outstanding example of urban architecture and art, is right around the corner, allowing wonderful strolls down to Chelsea Market. Pharmacy, shops and restaurants, and the fascinating waterside are all nearby. Ed & Art have prepared a nice colored map allowing you to find the right way to reach the most important places. Their home is nice and cozy, the hosts are accommodating and relaxed, their cats sweet and quiet. The stairs are steep and narrow, take you time with bulky overseas luggage. Air conditioning and fans in every room work perfectly and 24/7 round... but probably Europeans will have hard times to get used to the freezer effect and constant buzz (which is the norm all over the city, though, including trains, busses, boats). The room is not sterile or completely empty as in a hotel room, so their stuff and your stuff just look like being part of one family. (Just make sure you don't leave some socks or take away one of their coats). The mattresses were perfect for us, not too hard not too soft, with a thicker and a thinner pillow for those who the perfect height. Bathroom is all black without windows (could be claustrophobic for somebody) but well organized, especially a with spacious shower. What you need is available as in any real home, including books and brochures about the city, spare USA plug adapters, disposable razor blades or some aspirin. Should we come back to NYC sure we come back to Ed&Art, and will definitively recommend it to all our friends.

Comments: If you want to be centrally located in manhattan - If you want to stay with people who are truly interested in you having a fulfilling and low stress vacation - you really should consider Art and Ed's place in the heart of Chelsea. It is right on the Chelsea HighLine, which is a terrific addition to a city that doesn't even need more reasons to visit! Art and Ed could not have been more helpful to us. It is like having a concierge in-house. If we had a question, we had a human version of (Hidden by Airbnb) to check in with! Also - if cleanliness is important to you - this location will make you so happy! It also feels great to not worry about your personal belongings as you do in hotels. If you have not tried this sort of housing in NYC, Art and Ed's place is a perfect start.

Comments: Me and my boyfriend stayed for 4 nights. It was really awesome! The flat is fantastic and really quit for a central NYC Manhatten place. The bedroom is on the backside with the High Line directly behind it. Really nice! The room and beds are cosy, your own bathroom next to it very convenient. It was really great to have some food you could eat for breakfast (joghurt, banana, toast, jam, butter, sweets, orangejuice and coffee). So we were ready for the day every day without searching for breakfast. Unfortunately Art & Ed went on vacation, so we only had the chance to talk to them one night. Arthur gave us some exciting information about the city and advice what things to do and how to get there. If we had more time we probably would have learned more about them and their interesting family history and some more insider facts about NYC. Nevertheless there where a lot of infos on the wall & fridge in the kitchen as well. We were lucky to meet Ed's nice niece Kim. She was there when we arrived and helped us a lot! Pollux & Castor are really shy at the beginning and later they got used to us as guests, but you should really close the door. Pets are curious, but who is not. All in all we could not have a better place to stay in Manhatten!

Comments: Where to begin? The apartment is in a great location, convenient for many attractions, not far from the subway and so convenient for the Highline. There are plenty of restaurants and bars starting right next to the apartment. The apartment itself is lovely, very comfortable, with cereal, fruit and bread & spreads, tea and coffee provided for breakfast. The hosts, Ed and Art are the most congenial of hosts - frankly, it's like staying with a couple of good friends.

Comments: We are just back from a great time in NYC. Art and Ed are remarkable...from the minute we arrived we felt welcomed and supported by their good ideas, truly lovely home (spacious, comfortable, quiet and well located) and helpful guidance. They are amazing. The high line is a NYC MUST and they know the restaurants (check out "Bar Centrale" when you go to a show...wouldn't have found it without Art's help). We'll stay there again in a heart beat. Also, the home is very clean and the neighborhood is safe.

Comments: We stayed with Arthur and Ed during a busy weekend trip and I can't say enough good things about their place or their expertise as hosts. As with the rest of the Highline neighborhood, their listing can only get more and more in demand, unfortunately for us, and with good reason. Their Chelsea neighborhood, and access to everything you need for a great NY trip, is fantastic. We had no trouble with the thorough instructions they provided and they made themselves available before our arrival in case we needed any help making this a successful trip. Their BnB was exactly as advertised and as charming as it could be. A comfortable room and well appointed bath were all we were expecting but we got so much more. We actually ran out of time to take advantage of all of Ed's suggestions regarding fun NY activities. We plan on returning to continue with his list. If you want to experience the life available in NYC, without going through the buffer of a hotel, you can get it here. We look forward to returning.

Comments: If anyone had told me that one of the highlights of their trip to New York was their airbnb accommodation I would not have believed them; but that was definitely the case for us. We traveled from Australia to spend 11 nights in Ed and Art’s beautiful home and it was perfect. Everything you read in the reviews is true. Ed and Art are kind, warm and generous people and immediately make you feel at home. The neighborhood is wonderful. There are plenty of ‘cheap eats’ in the area and the high line is magnificent. Many times we came home exhausted after a big day out and collapsed in to bed, other times we stayed up chatting with our wonderful hosts. Whatever suits you is also fine with them. Art is totally charming and so very helpful. Ed loves to tell a story and is very funny. We felt comfortable making coffee and eating a light breakfast in the spotless kitchen. Our hosts provided lots of guidebooks and some good tips for sights in the area. We've been to New York many times and have lived here for short stints, but never explored Chelsea, so this was a first. Comments: The perfect spot if you love art! We stayed with Art & Ed just before Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time visiting museums, the High Line and all the galleries clustered around their Chelsea neighborhood. And don't forget their own personal art collection (and huge Christmas tree)! Art and Ed were excellent hosts. They provided great trip guidance beforehand and during the stay. They have several guides to city attractions (and personal experiences) you can use to plan each day.Their home is immaculate and the guest bath is fabulous. They offered a quick Continental breakfast for each day but we couldn't pass up the excellent Sullivan St. Bakery only a few blocks away (tasting the breakfast panini right now!). You can literally watch people walking on the High Line only 50' away from their breakfast room window. A few steps and you're walking there yourself. Subway stops are close by to take you anywhere in the city. One of our favorite AirBnB vacations!

Comments: Let me add to the chorus of superb reviews for this home and for the wonderful, caring hosts Art and Ed. They have thought of everything to make one’s stay memorable. The spotless bedroom had cable TV mounted over one of the beds, blackout shades over the windows, and even a “white noise” machine to lull you to sleep. The bathroom is wall-to-wall black marble and included brand new toothbrushes and an array of nice colognes. Art made sure that coffee was set up for brewing each morning, coupled with juice, bread, bananas and yogurt. When I arrived the first evening, Art and I sat around the kitchen table with glasses wine and had a great discussion about our backgrounds and about my plans to explore New York when my wife arrived the next morning. I corresponded with Art prior to my visit in order to get suggestions on where the locals go for restaurants. We were not in NYC long enough to try out his long list of places, but we did have a marvelous dinner right downstairs at the Red Cat restaurant and also tried his suggestion for a discrete after-theater place virtually unknown to tourists. Since our plans included a Broadway play on a rainy night, Art and Ed let us borrow a pair of opera glasses and umbrellas to keep us dry. If you are avid walkers, the location is perfect for exploring both mid-town via the High Line, the Chelsea Market, and also lower Manhattan. We did an enjoyable walk all the way downtown to the 9-11 museum. You will also notice that you are surrounded by great little art galleries. We were amazed at the rich collection of Picassos virtually around the corner at the Pace Gallery. In summary, we experienced the perfect combination of interaction with our hosts and freedom to come and go. You will not find more gracious, friendly and helpful hosts as Art and Ed. We can’t wait to go back!

Comments: Arthur and Ed were terrific hosts, just the right ratio of assistance, advice and respect for privacy, on both host and guest sides, with some fascinating local history thrown in for good measure. Location on the Highline @ 23rd was central to easy subway lines to get to midtown, upper east side or Brooklyn. That said, room was very private, as was the bath, and the main floor parlor/atrium/dining room was lovely. Richest, most lusciously decorated Xmas tree I've ever seen. Wish I was the lucky recipient of some of those gorgeously wrapped presents beneath. Morning pot o coffee @ the push of a button and quiet time to reflect on your upcoming day in Manhattan. I'd sum up my stay there as effortless and intend to return.

Comments: My friend and I stayed with Ed and Art for a week the week before Christmas. From the initial booking right through to the day we left, our experience was nothing but exceptional! What a pleasure it was to stay with these two gentlemen in their absolutely gorgeous apartment in the heart of Chelsea. Extremely hospitable, caring, talkative without being intrusive and welcoming. The knowledge of the cool places to go was exceptional also. From art and culture places, cafes, restaurants, cocktail bars... Anything we wanted to see or do Art and Ed had some great tips which you won't find in the Lonely Planet guide. I got the flu for a couple of days and Ed whipped up his amazing chicken soup for me - which was simply amazing and such a kind hearted gesture. The location is away from the noise and intensity of Times Square but only 1-2 blocks from the Subway, a bus station across the road and a 20 minute walk to Broadway. In summary, Ed and Art are incredibly kind hearted and possibly the most hospitable people I have had the pleasure of meeting. It was certainly a pleasure to stay with them during our time in NYC.

Comments: Arthur and Ed could not have been any more welcoming and helpful. They genuinely care that your New York experience is the best it can possibly be. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and shown around the lovely space. Guidebooks, maps, pictures, and answers to any questions will be at the ready. The room itself is quite comfortable and looks out directly onto the Highline. Every detail seems to be thought of, including fresh coffee and continental breakfast in the mornings. We found the location central to everything of interest and easily accessible to both the bus and subway. The neighborhood is one of the best in New York, full of galleries and great restaurants. We have been to the city many times, but this visit will remain special to us because of these perfect accommodations. We plan on staying again for future vists and would not hesitate to recommend this listing to anyone looking to experience New York and feel right at home in the process.

Comments: I would recommend this place, Art and Ed lived up to all of the wonderful expectations that we got from previous feedback. In terms of location, safety, quietness and ambience this house gets a high mark. Would I say there again? I sure would. Loved it, loved the fireplace and just adored the location. Thanks again, Art, Ed, and PnC (your feline babies).

Comments: What can I say? After a seamless arrival into Manhattan (thanks to the detailed info on the airbnb listing) we were warmly welcomed by Ed into their beautiful Chelsea apartment, offered a glass of wine and some food, then enjoyed a thoughtful tour of the apartment. The room and bathroom clean, tasteful, quiet and very comfortable. The shared kitchen very spacious with a unique view of the Highline. The daily continental breakfast was an excellent way to start the day. I have to say that although the amenities are perfect they do not surpass the hosts, Art and Ed! We enjoyed every opportunity we had to talk to them. They are kind, intelligent, gracious and full of unique stories and excellent advice about their beloved city. We feel so fortunate to have stayed with them...I just cannot recommend their rental enough. Erin

Grazie grazie!

Comments: Arthur and Ed were amazing hosts! We loved our stay in their very conveniently located, and lovely home in Chelsea. We arrived in the evening and were warmly welcomed with a glass of wine and lots of great advice and information about visiting the city. We had a full itinerary, but were able to recharge with a great night's sleep in very comfortable accommodation. When we were preparing to leave, Art and Ed helped us arrange very convenient transportation to the airport - we were well taken care of at all times. We will be back for sure! Thank you for a wonderful holiday in New York!

Comments: Art and Ed were excellent hosts. When we arrived Art enthusiastically gave us a lot of information on what to see and do in New York, and New York history. Their location is excellent - next to the High Line, close to bus and subway access, and close to many restaurants. We are planning to return to New York for another holiday in a couple of years, and we will stay with Art and Ed again. New York is a great city and you need more than 5-6 days to see everything worth seeing.

The guest area is just as described and includes little things like toothbrushes, shampoo, and a hair dryer. Art and Ed are almost invisible, giving guests privacy, yet available for any questions or concerns. I highly recommend their space for travelers looking to feel safe and secure in NYC.

Comments: INCREDIBLY GREAT! This is honestly the best airbnb experience I've ever had. Living in Chelsea, right under the high line is like a dream come true. The place has prime location, amazing decorations, homely atmosphere, and exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The bathroom, especially, is like 5-star hotel level. Makes me speechless. But most importantly, the hosts Art and Ed are like the sweetest people in this planet. They're so nice and kind and taught me so much about this city and being a New Yorker. They really care about how guests feel. Their cats are great!! I enjoy walking on high line just next to the house, walking along the Hudson River at night and visit the Chelsea piers. And living here just makes me fall in love with the city and really feel how warm New York actually is. Marvelous 3 nights. I would love to visit again. :) <3

They went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed. Had fantastic suggestions of things to do, places to eat and drink. The area is beautiful, especially being so close to the high line which I used frequently to get to other parts of the city. Their apartment is absolutely incredible and spacious. I felt instantly at ease, Ed ad Art make you feel at home straight away. My first airbnb experience and I doubt it will ever be beaten. I hope to come back and visit them soon!

Both of them made our stay an experience that I would call "home away from home"! They are just amazingly lovely and welcoming! Whatever help or information we needed - we received! I travelled with my 10 year old son and can only highly recommend staying with children at Ed & Arthur's place. Comments: Arthur and Ed are GREAT hosts! Their Superhost title is well deserved. As long as they continue to share their home through Airbnb, I will never stay anywhere else again while in NYC! Actually, they made my trip 100% much better and more fun! They are both highly intelligent men who are easy to talk to about any subject; especially NYC. I spent a week there, and could have sat and talked to them ALL day, if time allowed! Their home is as beautiful as the photos, and the bed is very comfortable. Transportation was convenient to get to around their area, and the Highline is a great place to walk and see more. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends who visit NYC.

They are friendly, open, and they make a huge effort to be helpful and accommodating. We had some great chats, and they shared lots of great local knowledge. Comments: My husband and I always stay with Art and Ed when we are in NY. They are wonderful hosts. Their home is conveniently located, always clean and comfortable, just a stone's throw from the High Line in Chelsea. This time we actually walked from Penn Station with our bags. It's not that far. Each time we needed a cab, we just walked downstairs and found one within minutes. They are both very knowledgeable about NY and points beyond. We were especially grateful for Art's tip to visit St. Augustine on our way to Savannah and Charleston. We will definitely stay with them any time we visit NY.

The Public Transport stop is 4 minutes from their home, and Art and Ed happily indulged us when we needed directions or information. They are also so welcoming and were earnestly interested in making sure we were having a good time. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating to us.

Comments: We were welcomed warmly by Art despite being delayed 1 1/2 hrs beyond our arrival time. After helping with our bags he gave us a great orientation to the neighborhood, suggesting several restaurants and things to do in the Chelsea area of Manhattan. All the restaurants turned out to be very good, so we were very grateful for the advice. Our week-end was wonderful, and the location for our activities on the West Side were just around the corner from the apartment!! If we needed anything ( which we did not) Art and Ed were just a phone call away and sweet Kim was on site. It felt like we had the apt to ourselves, which was a real luxury! Although our private bath was "down the hall" and not an en-suite, we were perfectly at ease with the arrangement. Being on the high-line was great fun! And we loved the location. If I had to find one thing in the "dislike" category, it would be the 1 1/2 flights of stairs to the apartment. That should not deter anyone -it's just an FYI.

Comments: My friend, Sue, and I had a grand 5 daystar in NewYork enhanced triple fold by staying in Arthur and Ed’s lovely, spacious, clean and aesthetically pleasing apartment. My achilles heel on holiday is always the pillow, not so here, it was PERFECT! If you are walkers, the accommodation is within walking distance of most of the ‘sights’, we walked to Central Park from there, taking in the Flat Iron Building, Grand Central Station, EmpireState Building etc etc, as well as Greenwich Village but if you prefer public transport the area is well served with buses and the metro. There are a number of good restaurants within walking distance and Arthur has produced a list of recommendations. Arthur gave us many useful tips about what to see and the quickest or most interesting ways of getting around. We enjoyed some social time with both Ed andArthur but they never intruded on our space or time. I would, without doubt, stay there again, if they would have me!

Comments: I can't speak highly enough about Art & Ed and their generous hospitality & beautiful apartment. From the first communication to our farewell we felt welcomed and cared about. Both have extensive knowledge of NY, history, unique sights, great restaurants like only locals do & are very happy to share these with their guests. The location is great, a 10 minute walk to the subway or bus right outside. The Highline is literally outside the door and it's lovely to walk it. included breakfast is a great start to the day & laid out thoughtfully each night ready for the morning , beds & pillows are great quality & very comfortable, linen, towels are clean, fresh & were changed during our 12 day stay. The private bathroom is spacious & immaculately clean, as is the whole apartment, with a stock of essentials including a hairdryer . We didn't use the kitchen to cook in apart from making a cup of tea & late night snacks, but it had everything you would need to make a meal if you want. We were welcome to use the lounge room, very pleasant to sit in comfort to read or catch up on emails etc and not feel that you have to stay in the bedroom, There are restaurants & a couple of bars downstairs & many more within walking distance what ever type of food you're after, a 24 hr pharmacy opposite, a liquor store & a supermarket in the next block. Although the intersection of Tenth & 23rd is busy, the bedroom is at the back, not on the street & apart from the odd siren, the street noise didn't bother us at all. It is New York after all, it's a busy place all hours. We slept very well. And only one flight of steps, easily manageable, and we were helped up the stairs with our bags. We felt safe at all times, the building is secure and our privacy was respected always. A wonderful stay with two lovely people, thanks so much Art & Ed.

Comments: My husband and I stayed in Art & Ed’s home for 12 days. We found their hospitality and friendship exceptional which added to the wonderful time we spent in New York. The apartment was fabulous as shown on their site, extremely well equipped with all you could possibility need, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds. Breakfast was supplied, we didn’t cook during our stay but we had the use of a full kitchen. Excellent location close to buses and subway, restaurants (The Red Cat was excellent especially the Tempura Green Beans), groceries and the apartment abuts the High Line. Early morning walks on the High Line to Chelsea Market were great, especially enjoying the Ninth Street Coffee in the market. We can’t speak highly enough of Art and Ed “Super Hosts Extraordinarine”, extremely generous in all aspects of our stay and willing to share their knowledge/history of New York. Art & Ed provided a comprehensive document detailing places to visit and excellent restaurants which all added to a wonderful experience. We would love to revisit New York and would definitely like to stay with Art and Ed again. Art & Ed’s belief in Airbnb is that it is a community for sharing experiences. There is no doubt they live up to this and were pleased to hear about our experiences as well.

Immediately felt at home and fully informed when we met Arthur, he provided us with a lot of information and took time to understand our plans for the trip. The private room was perfect, amazing view of the highline. Bathroom was brilliant and well equipped. The fact that we were able to use the kitchen and living room was great as the apartment itself is fantastic, all the facilities you could need and more. Location is excellent two blocks away from Subway, couple of minutes walk to access Highline which we used a lot. From this location we felt we had an ideal start point to do all the exploring we wanted. The area felt very safe and had lots of local services, shops, bars and restaurants. Highly recommend the Half King bar and restaurant which we visited a few times and is two minutes away. We were out a lot but were lucky one night to spend some time with Ed and Arthur, very interesting and open hosts and we had a great time with them, and I would love to meet them again. The apartment is, quite simply beautiful. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We had permission to use the kitchen at any time throughout our stay. The breakfast they supplied each morning, was a very generous gesture by Arthur & Ed, and very much appreciated. They also provided us with lots of very useful information on local attractions, restaurants, transport in and around New York and the Chelsea area also. They were very interesting to chat with, and engaged in conversations with us very easily. We truly enjoyed their company. This is the first time that I have used Airbnb where the owner is living in the property I have rented during my time there. So I was nervous before I arrived as to how this would work. However, I need not have worried at all. They are indeed super hosts. Arthur & Ed also like their privacy and the space within the apartment allows for everyone to have privacy if they want it. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone who is thinking of travelling to New York and looking for somewhere to stay. We will definitely return again. We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else except Arthur & Ed's penthouse on 10th Avenue. Thank you both for making our trip to New York such a wonderful experience.

Comments: Art and Ed were very gracious and helpful hosts. Their home is beautiful and located with very convenient access to the high line. The room was private and perfect for me. The bathroom is private and nearby. Having the ingredients for a light breakfast each morning was extremely helpful.

Comments: Art & Ed were great hosts and made us feel at home immediately. The apartment was very nice, with a lovely well decorated living room. The location is fantastic, with nice galleries and restaurants. They had such vast knowledge of New York and recommended all of the best places to go in the neighborhood. I can't imagine staying in another place whenever I go to New York again.

Comments: My sister Beth and I had a wonderful four day stay with Art and Ed in their lovely Chelsea penthouse. It offers the best of all possible worlds with a well-appointed private bed/bath combined with the use of the kitchen and comfy living room space. The location was ideal for our New York visit - easy walking to many of our destinations as well as access to lots of nearby transportation options. Art and Ed are both such generous hosts, always willing to share their wealth of NY knowledge. Thanks also to Castor and Pollux for sharing "their" couch ;-) Highly recommended! We hope to return.

Comments: This was my first time renting a room, and I couldn't have been luckier. Art and Ed were absolutely lovely! Art was quick to respond and helped me in every way possible. Overall, the apartment is a beautiful space, filled with art. Apropos, considering that the location is conveniently located around the corner from all the galleries—a perfect location for art lovers. They had a huge Christmas tree in the living room, which made the place feel warm and festive. The room and private bathroom was well-appointed with all the necessities. They even had bathrobes! Overall, my experience was A+. I would definitely stay here again when I'm back in the city. Highly recommended!

Comments: This house was right next to the High Line Park. The location is great for gallery going, restaurants, and the Whitney Museum. Their house is 2 blocks from subway; makes getting anywhere very easy. This was our first airbnb experience and it was a great introduction to the process. Would certainly stay with Arthur and Ed again. We were made to feel comfortable in their home and they offered local knowledge that would be impossible to get in any other manner. Our stay with Arthur and Ed was a perfect mix of accommodation into their home, sharing their experiences when helpful, and making us comfortable in doing our own thing as well. Their house is very large for NYC and the private bedroom and bath we used was perfect for our needs (a married couple). Highly Recommended!

Comments: We stayed for a week in Art and Ed's beautiful home. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed laughing with and chatting to Art around the kitchen table over a glass of wine or a coffee. Art and Ed were full of interesting and useful information about Manhattan, and the immediate neighbourhood of Chelsea. The location is fabulous - easy to access downtown or uptown Manhattan. We started most mornings setting off on The High Line on our adventures! There was always a roaring fire to greet us when we got in after a long day walking, shopping, sightseeing, eating and drinking. There's no place like New York at Christmas time, and there's no place like Art and Ed's for comfort, a warm friendly welcome, and superb hospitality. We'd like to think we've made new friends and would love to return sometime.

Comments: I've staid with Art and Ed for a second time during a business trip in NY. It's like staying with friends who make you feel extremely welcome and accommodate all my needs. They provide great insights on local news and surrounding area and provide great tips for restaurants and what to do nearby. It's a fantastic location for art lovers who want to check out local galleries or visit The Whitney and the Highline. Those coming to attend an event at the Jacob K. Javits centre can get there easily on foot, avoiding the hunt for taxis when trade shows finish. Thanks for making me feel so welcome again. x

Comments: Dear Art and Ed, having you host our first AirBnB stay was just the best thing that could have happened! I think your place is better than any hotel you could ever stay in. The seperate beds, the lovely bedroom, own bathroom an all those little details, the breakfast setup, the extra tooth brushes, I could go on... But the most important experience was meeting you two! I could have listened to your fabulous life experiences forever and I can imagine spending nights with you over discussing world politics with a good glass of wine. Travelling is made of who you meet. You made this trip very special! Would love to keep in touch! My offer is still in place: Please visit us in Stuttgart any time! my dearest regards, Sonja

Comments: We stayed for a week and couldn't have been luckier. Not only is the apartment breathtaking with direct view on High Line it's also perfectly located in a charming neighborhood with two bus lines right in front of the house and the tube just two blocks away. But what really made our stay so outstanding was the warmth and kindness of Art and Ed. They made us feel like being their friends and have an incredible knowledge of New York. I could have listened to them for hours. There was always time for a chat or discussion about what ever was in our mind. We felt like home and will come back for sure!

Comments: This is the place. Seriously, look no further. We could not have possibly chosen a better place to stay, location in the city, or better hosts. ESPECIALLY if this is your first time to the city, Arthur and Ed are so incredibly helpful. They're so prepared for their guests, with lists of suggested things to see/do and food to eat. Some of the best food we had while in the city we would have never known about without their suggestions. They were also very helpful in figuring out the public transportation system, which was SO easy to use from their place. Art encouraged us to text him with any questions throughout our stay, and he responded every time, usually within just a couple minutes, to help us out with suggestions or transportation questions. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else, just book this one now :-)

Comments: A lovely welcoming home, more spacious than I expected in NYC. My (adult) son and I shared a room, but with a full kitchen and other areas available to us, we were quite comfortable and never crowded. Comments: LOCATION: right next to the beautiful Highline Park, a scenic (check out the architecture) short walk to subway, surrounded by bus stops, in the heart of gorgeous Chelsea - you won't be disappointed! Mum and I felt perfectly safe travelling to and from at all hours of the day and night. FOOD: We loved having so many great options for eating out right at our doorstep. Art and Ed kindly provided us with coffee and breakfast items and also recommended some awesome places to eat lunch and dinner. If you're lucky, they might even whip up their signature dishes for you - Ed, I'm still thinking about that Navy bean soup :) OUR ROOM: oh so comfy beds, perfect temperature, quiet (even though there was renovations happening in the building we didn't hear a thing), TV was great to chill out to, a big plus was power points everywhere for us to charge our gear, sufficient wardrobe space and the bathrobes were a lovely touch! We slept like babies. BATHROOM: Spotless, clean, our own space to use with everything we needed right next to our room which was super handy. KITCHEN: Personally, I loved this space the most as it was the hub of Art & Ed's place. A light filled, clean cozy area to have breakfast while watching people walk the highline, recount the day/night adventures to Art & Ed and if you're deemed acceptable, play with Castor & Pollux (the tabbies). Got my mum's stamp of approval for clean & tidy too :) LOUNGE: We used the kitchen area mostly but we loved the soft music in the lounge as we came home. ART & ED: Talk about raising the bar - my mum's bucket list trip to NYC was made extra special by these two stand-out hosts. Genuine care for our need for space and a willingness to interact with us, share their stories and listen to ours really helped us to connect with the new Manhattan. Art's communication from the start reassured us that things were organised! Art was instrumental in prioritising our sight-seeing (the UN tour & The MET rooftop was a great tip) - he's just a wonderfully kind person that we are so grateful to have met :) Ed is full of awesome stories and I wish we had more time to chat!! Thanks for the movie too Ed :) Castor & Pollux - the space wouldn't be fun without these gorgeous creatures. I'm not a cat person but I loved these two. They keep to themselves and are immaculately clean. VALUE: If you're looking for the best of NYC & Airbnb combined, you can't go wrong with these hosts. Can't recommend highly enough.

Comments: Hard to know where to begin because everything was so perfect. Arthur and Ed have a beautiful penthouse in a quiet area of Chelsea. Close to public transport and just next to the Highlife park (which I highly recommend!). You really feel like a friend place instead of an Airbnb what is really appreciable. I can't say anything about cleaness because cleaner come before each stay. Arthur and Ed wrote a paper with all sites to visit in Manhattan. The paper is about 50pages. At this you should add all their advices and hacks! We followed their recommendations and our small 3days trip was so perfect! I'm not highly recommend to stay at their place, I would say you'll miss something if you're not going at their place! Wish you all the best for the future and thanks again for everything.

Comments: Whatever we say would not even begin to describe the amazing experience that we had at Art and Ed's place in the heart of Manhatten. The apartment is beautiful and to us it felt like home. But that is just the bonus. Meeting Art and Ed was what actually made our stay truly special. Dear future guests, you are in for a treat. You will meet two of the moat intelligent, kind, friendly and detail-oriented people, who would go the extra mile to make your stay in New York one to remember. History, cultural heritage, art, food, you name it... You will be treated to a comprehensive guide and isights that you can only get from real people and New Yorkers. Could not imagine a better location (view of ESB) through your living room window and the High Line 5, yes 5 meters away) and we can't wait to be back!!

Comments: What a wonderful experience for a first AirBnB experience! We picked Arthur and Ed's place for the location and all the positive reviews and were not disappointed. Chelsea market, Greenwich village, Flatiron district can all be reached by foot or a short bus/subway ride away. Since several subway lines have stations on 23rd St., it is easy to access all parts of NYC without the fear of getting lost. We also felt very safe walking 'home' late at night. Arthur met us when we arrived and provided a great deal of useful information for us and answered a number of questions we had. We told him the sites we were visiting and he provided suggestions to restaurants that one would not typically find on tourist sites. BTW, we texted Arthur for the name of a restaurant he told us about previously when we were in the Financial district and he immediately responded with the info! He also recommended dinner at the Red Cat restaurant just below the townhouse since we were arriving in the evening and did not want to venture too far for a good meal. The Red Cat was wonderful and we would definitely eat there again. We can only second all the reviews about the wonderful accommodations, cleanliness, and continental breakfast provided. I especially enjoyed sharing a glass of wine and conversation with Arthur and Ed when we returned early one night. As mentioned in other reviews, they will provide as much privacy or conversation as their guest desired. Will not have to spend time looking for accommodations for our next visit to NYC, it will be at Arthur and Ed's.

Comments: Whatever you're planning to do in NYC won't be nearly as good as staying in with Art and Ed over dinner and refreshments. Our only regret is that we didn't stay in every evening with them! They're amazingly generous, incredibly accommodating, and hilariously entertaining. We'll never, and I truly mean NEVER, stay anywhere else when passing through NYC again. You won't regret any of it!! My fiance and I are the easy-going type from Ontario, Canada. We have family/friends in Toronto and all over GTA but we even try to avoid that bc of the crowds. So we weren't really looking forward to NYC, even though friends, family, and co-workers obviously gave rave reviews and plenty of suggestions on things to do. We were happy to find this gorgeous penthouse in Chelsea based on their 5 star reviews. Their hospitality is truly above 5. Art is prompt at getting to know you and eager to offer a true New Yorker experience. We were texting details about ourselves and our ideal NYC experience weeks/days before our arrival. We arrived several hours before check-in and Art nearly demanded we drop our things off and freshen up in their spare bathroom, even if we couldn't access our room yet. We felt so welcomed and ended up staying a couple hours that morning to "catch up". Our stay was almost 3 days and left feeling so satisfied with fitting several suggestions that suited us into our visit - nearly all of which were suggestions of Art and Ed's. They have wild schedules but never failed to be amazing hosts when we saw each other, like we'd known them for years. And like their site says, they always left coffee and breakfast options available in the mornings, clean accommodations and fresh towels. The rest of their place is spotless and beautifully decorated with all kinds of art and photographs. Art and Ed do well in keeping out of your hair while there, which my fiance and I usually prefer, but we just couldn't get enough of our conversations with them! My fiance proposed to be the day after we left Art and Ed's for our cruise and we both actually wished they had been there too to celebrate with us haha. They are, at the very least, the cherry on top of your NYC experience. But they were definitely our highlight!

Comments: A fantastic place to say, both Art & Ed make you feel right at home. Their support throughout our stay was far better than you could get at a hotel. Their beautiful home is so well placed, only a few steps to get on to the very popular Highline, 2 blocks from the subway and bus stops outside. Plenty of eating places nearby, with great recommendations from the guys. Short walk to the Whitney art gallery and really interesting Chelsea Market, but only 2 stops, on the subway then a couple of blocks walk from Times square or 5 minutes to the World Trade Centre stop and access to downtown. Breakfast being supplied was a lovely touch, plus use of a small fridge makes life easy. We would highly recommend a stay here and really hope that we are able to get back to New York and a stay here again as soon as we can. Thank you.

Comments: We were absolutely thrilled with Arthur's apartment, which is very well located. The apartment is nicely quiet, very clean and well furnished. You have a view of the HighLine which is right behind the house. We liked it very much, to walk on the HighLine. Nature in New York City. The area feels safe and there are lots of restaurants outside the door. Arthur was absolutely delightful with us, very obliging, always available and quick to answer our questions. We will recommend this host and lovely place.

Comments: Everything about Art and Ed's place was fantastic. The pictures speak for themselves and the place was extremely cozy/homely. Not to mention they had the most beautiful Christmas tree we've ever seen. It was so much fun sitting by the fire at night - it even snowed twice while we were there. Coming from Australia we've never experienced a "White Christmas" but we can tick that off our bucket list now. The location was amazing, however we thought the highlight of our stay was getting to know Art & Ed/Caster & Pollux (their adorable kitties). They put so much time and effort into giving us tips and suggestions for things to do / places to eat / ways to get around. They went above and beyond! We loved spending time with them too having lots of chats about everything and anything. We learnt so much about Chelsea's History/ NYC's History etc. It was sad to leave, but hopefully we'll return to NYC one day soon! Art and Ed - We'll miss you guys and of course Pollux and Caster. Comments: It is worth a trip to NYC JUST to stay in Ed's warm, comfortable and gorgeous home. We felt welcome and spoiled from the moment of our arrival. In Chelsea, within steps of the high line, this home occupies the 3rd and 4th story (penthouse) of a charming 4 story building. Our bedroom, looking out on the high line, was on the same floor as the kitchen and art filled dining and living rooms. Ed and Art gave us great advice on where to go and what to see. We had dinner at The Red Cat on the first floor of the building; it was the best meal we had! If you want to treat yourself to a pampered visit, stay here. Its proximity to the high line, subways and buses make it a convenient location no matter what you want to do. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the excellent continental breakfasts and the availability of our very own mini-fridge.

Comments: Arthur and Ed are amazing hosts and their place is immaculate, cool, comfortable and perfectly located to explore Manhattan. The room is very nice, with a view of the High Line. The beds and linen are top quality - just what you need after a full-on day (or days) of walking and exploring the city. Arthur and Ed are incredibly thoughtful, providing breakfast, toiletries, local tips and good humour. Our days were packed so we had very little time to chat to them but when we did they were great company. Honestly, I can’t think about anything negative about our stay. Exemplary!

Comments: Staying at Arthur and Ed's was all that I expected and more. The location was excellent - really right next to the Highline with lots of restaurants, cafes, diners etc nearby. Check-in and communication was super easy and painless. The bedroom and bath are as shown and very nicely appointed with lots of extra amenities like spare toothbrushes, soap & shampoo for guests. The rest of the penthouse apartment is also beautifully done up and is a place of light and space. Both Arthur and Ed provided lots of tips for local eateries, transport, things to do etc. Thoughtful touches included provisions for breakfast, a little fridge for my use, bottomless coffee. Their two cats showed up occasionally but in general were too shy to stay in the kitchen and guest areas. Above and beyond all this, Arthur and Ed are very warm and welcoming hosts, and we ended up hanging out in the kitchen having great fun discussing the "interesting times" that the USA finds itself in under its 45th President over some food and wine. For me, this interaction was the real plus point of my stay - it’s something that I look/hope for when I'm travelling solo and staying at Airbnb rooms, but which doesn’t always happen. Another plus point was the anti-Trump art in the windows which is a mini-tourist attraction on the Highline - LOL! Even though they were away for part of my stay, I felt completely secure and at ease in the apartment and with their house sitter. Arthur was always available if I needed to check anything and he also checked in regularly to see that I was ok. My brother and sis-in-law had travelled to NYC as well and there were no issues with them coming to the apartment to hang out before checking in to their hotel etc. In conclusion, I can’t recommend Arthur and Ed highly enough.

Comments: Art and Ed were the most welcoming hosts ever. Due to flight delays, I wasn't able to check in until it was super late. In the back of my head, I was nervous since I was going to disrupt their sleep with all of the flight updates, but they were completely understanding the entire time and made me feel right at home from the start. The location was fantastic since it's right next to the High Line and close to the E train which made it super convenient to go to HK and Tribeca. Bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen amenities was top notch.

Comments: Arthur’s place is right at Highline. We had no trouble getting to places, buses and subways, all nearby. Arthur and Ed are extremely considerate and thoughtful. Their home is lovely and clean. They had quite a setting for their guests, the morning coffee, breakfast and so on. I and my husband didn’t get much chance to talk to them but the short period we talked, you just know they’re nice and wonderful people. We had a great time staying at their home. We went to some places Arthur recommended. It was amazing. I highly recommend their home to anyone who wants to go to New York and enjoy.

Comments: This is the real deal! I will definitely be staying here when I visit New York again. Arthur and Ed are fantastic hosts. They are courteous, generous, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about NYC. You can learn lots of interesting facts about the history of Manhattan and Chelsea from them, as well as recommendations for food and activities. Their home is gorgeous and was much nicer to stay at than a hotel. One of the best Airbnb experiences I’ve had.

Comments: This was everything you can expect from an AirBnB rental. The location, the space, the amenities, all top notch. And the hosts! Art and Ed couldn’t have been more hospitable; great communication, and their wealth of knowledge and recommendations for both the neighborhood and NYC in general were invaluable. There were many thoughtful touches - our own refrigerator stocked with breakfast items, freshly brewed coffee every morning, toiletries and bathrobes - that all added to make this a great stay.

Comments: I said in my previous comment that I couldn't imagine staying in another place whenever I went to New York again, so when we decided to return to New York, we naturally stayed with them again, and it was just as lovely as the last time. They also made some improvements around the house (like a fridge just for guests and better wifi), and they even had new recommendations of places for us to visit, so we had a great time again.

Comments: I don’t think any review can really do this place justice. Arthur and Ed are welcoming and wonderful hosts, and their 2 cats are similarly charming. The apartment is beautiful, everything is immaculate and you are surrounded by more excellent restaurants than you can count. The highline is a literal stone’s throw away and Arthur and Ed are full of tips and suggestions in the unlikely event you find yourself short of things to do. This is Airbnb at its very best and our trip was immeasurably enhanced by staying here.

Comments: This space is exactly as you see in the pictures - beautiful, clean, comfortable, convenient & affordable! Art & Ed were excellent and knowledgeable hosts who gave us privacy but also shared amazing history of NYC when we had the opportunity to chat with them. They provided every amenity you could possibly need and even bought some gluten-free products for my husband! Communication was easy, they provided an entire binder on NYC sites and restaurants, the beds were comfy and the overall space was clean & comfortable! We would definitely visit Art & Ed again!

They also prepared coffee/bread/juice/fruits with other food for breakfast. The room is super clean and the location is very convenient to everywhere. Subway station is just few steps away. The bus stop is downstairs. We went to / Whitney Museum of American Art— Andy warhol exhibition now / Nature history Museum / Wall street & Ellis island for Liberty Status / Lincoln Centre for concert/The Metropolitan Museum of Art. All places easy to go . There are many restaurants around the blocks, Some are 24 hours open.Supermarket is very nearby just cross the street.
