  Comments: Recep (Zafer) is a wonderful host. I did not know a word of Turkish and he did not know a word of English and we seemed to still have no problem communicating. He came and found me when I arrived from the airport, which was great. He was always offering delicious coffees and he made several wonderful meals (he is a chef) On my second day, he walked me around and was eager to share his city with me. If you are on a budget, like I was, then this is an excellent option for you. The location can not be beat, especially for the price.

  Comments: This is the perfect location and host for budget travellers to Istanbul. On less popular side of Taxim Square you go up a not very well kept stairwell to find a surprisingly pleasant, super small but well organized apartment with a very accomodating host. Zafer doesnt speak English but he makes use of translator and is really helpful. Can't find a better place in a better location for such a deal.

  Comments: Recep was a great host, his home is in the best location and so easy and convient to go out and about from taksim square everyday, even tho he doesn't speak English and we didn't speak turkish we communicated through a translator on our phones and it was fine! He has an adorable kitten to keep you company also! Will Definatley reccomend recepa home!

  Comments: Zafer is one of the most welcome and sincere host i have ever seen. He picked me up earlier than the check in time and immediately I went in the house i liked it! The location is very near Taksim square, a little bit difficult to find but very convenient. There are several animals in the house and they are very cute. Zafer doesn't speak English but it was very fun talking to him using the mobile phone. I felt lucky to find this place with Zafer during my stay in Istanbul.

  Comments: We arrived in Istanbul at 2 p.m. and had asked Zafer beforehand if it was and he said it was. But when we arrived at his place, he was asleep and didn't hear us call. So the first night we were paniqued because we didn't know where to sleep. We eventually found another hotel at 4 p.m... Zafer did apologize the next morning... The room is very very tiny (the bed too) and if you're allergic to cats then this isn't the place for you because the cats is very playful and jumps on your bed, pillow, shoes and stuff... The good thing was the location. At walking distance from Taksim. Very convenient. If you don't need luxury then you're good. We were never in the appartment as we were sightseeing the whole time and went out a lot.

  Comments: Recep and Zafer were terrific hosts. Our language barrier was overcome by the use of a great phone app. Recep carried our heavy bags up quite a few stairs then made us coffee and walked us into town to show us around. We really enjoyed their hospitality. We had to move on a couple of days earlier than we thought due to wifi connectivity (we were working), but other than that, we would recommend Zafer and Recep's flat as a cozy place to stay. Great location. Thank you!

  Comments: The place was nice and cozy (as described). Recep's cat is really cute. I did find it a bit difficult to communicate with translating via phone, I would ask him some stuff but it took to long to get the correct the right answer. Check out is strict, not flexible :) Other than that, he's a nice guy

  Comments: What can we say, we had a great stay at Recep's place. The location is great, really a few steps from Taksim square, and everything we wanted was therefore near. Though there is perhaps little privacy, since you do share the appartement with Recep, it is absolutely no problem as he is a very kind and easy-going person. And of course for that price one can only be happy. Mind you, as others had written, that Recep does not speak English so communication goes through (Hidden by Airbnb) translate, though for us that was not a problem whatsoever, at times it was even pleasant for it didn't force us to socialise. Also, Recep makes great Turkish coffee! In sum, if you are looking for a nice, cheap place that is centrally located, we recommend a stay at Recep's place!
