Neighborhood Overview: Molokai is one of the only Hawaiian islands where you can still experience the unspoiled natural beauty of Hawaii. Things move at a slower pace without a skyscraper or stoplight in sight. Many residents still practice traditional Hawaiian customs, including warm hospitality. The small town of Kaunakakai has everything you need with a large dose of small town charm. Head to Kanemitsu bakery for a tasty brunch or late at night in the back alley for their famous hot bread - the perfect late night sweet treat. Molokai Pizza Cafe and Molokai Burger serve up familiar foods as well as local specials. Pick up groceries and other essentials at Friendly Market or Misaki’s. Souvenir shop in all of the locally owned businesses in town. If you’d rather explore the great outdoors, Molokai has everything an adventurer needs. The island has beautiful hikes, pristine waterfalls, incredible views and spectacular beaches without the crowds. From the hot and sunny west side to the lush and green east side
Notes: Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding rates, additional accommodations, transportation, etc..
Transit: I highly recommend getting a rental car when visiting the island of Molokai. There is limited public transportation and a few taxis, but to truly experience what the island has to offer the freedom and cost of a rental car can’t be beat. The roads are not crowded and are easy to drive. With one main road, things are not hard to find. If you need help finding a rental car or if you have any other questions regarding transportation, please let me know!
Access: This condo includes all hotel amenities (except for daily cleaning) such as a beachfront pool and lounge, hammocks, a gazebo, free parking, ice and vending machines, free WiFi, lush and tropical landscaping and a sense of ‘Ohana (a family type of hospitality). It’s only a short walk (less than 2 minutes) from the condo to the beachfront pool and the hotel’s restaurant & bar. The condo is a 5 minute drive to Kaunakakai town which has grocery stores, restaurants and unique shops. It is centrally located, which gives visitors access to all that Molokai has to offer.
Interaction: The guest(s) of the condo have the entire unit to themselves, and is ideal for privacy - so there isn’t much contact with guests during their stay. But if you have any questions, concerns or curiosities leading up to your stay, please feel free to reach out to hotel staff or myself. We are head to make your trip as enjoyable and memorable as possible.

Comments: We had spend a great time in the condo! We got good instructions how to find the location and details about the check-in procedure. We didn't meet Raymond but the communication was very nice and friendly! The location is perfect if you plan to stay a few days on Molokai. We can definitively recommend this location.

Comments: This was like staying at the hotel for much less than the hotel rates were. Place was nice and clean. Bed seemed new; comfortable. Iron & ironing board, coffee maker, coffee cups, glass ware and soaps were included. There was A/C, although we didn't use it; night breeze through the unit kept us cool enough. Centrally located on the island nothing was a difficult drive. Raymond was quick with communication. Provided easy instructions for key card in lock box. Hotel has a nice smaller pool (7 ft deep end) and the bar/restaurant are convenient on site. Great ocean views on property, especially off the pool and bar areas. Has been one of our favorite places and plan to return on our next trip to Molokai.

Comments: The room was very clean and nice, we never even used the ac unit. The location is GREAT. Right next to a restaurant/bar on the beach (does it get any better?). Molokai is a fun place to explore. Highly recommend.

Comments: Very cute little room, clean and comfortable. Good location.Easy check in. Only downside was having rude/noisy neighbors late at night as noise traveled through the closed windows easily, it's also very light in the room due to there being no coverings over the frosted glass, so if you need a dark room to sleep in I recommend bringing some dark towels or something to hang over the windows. Food options on Molokai are quite limited and expensive.

Comments: I was there for a week, and found it very comfortable, peaceful, and well located. The host was quite professional, cordial, and exceptionally responsive. The hotel is a pleasure to stay in - very relaxing and unlike the polished and glitzy resort style hotels so often found in the islands. And their restaurant-bar veranda at the water is a tropical treat - there are even delightful and sincerely friendly local Hawaiian musicians entertaining every night. Service can be slow, but it's such a perfect place to relax - or to learn to relax - that this is no real problem. I'll definitely look forward to coming back!

Comments: Had such a great time staying here. The studio is perfectly located within Hotel Molokai and after a day of racing round the island to check things out it was lovely to relax by the pool over a beer or two overlooking the water. The grounds are beautifully well kept and the locals/staff are friendly and welcoming. Location was only 10-mins drive from airport, a couple of mins from petrol/food market so it felt very conveniently located. Would stay again!

Comments: We enjoyed our time there. the AC was surely important. The bed was comfortable. However, the electrical circuit tripped multiple times which seemed to involve both our room and the room next to ours. Communication during the reservation process was very good however, on arrival communication regarding the entry lock box was lacking. Fortunately the hotel desk was finally able to assist us.

Comments: 2nd stay at the Hotel Molokai, but Raymond's unit was a much better location. Neighbors were quiet, locale is safe, but then... it's Molokai! The bed and pillows were fantastic, and we appreciated all amenities. Greatly appreciated being able to reach Ray easily! Mahalo nui loa!

Comments: This was a private time share/condo in the hotel. So although we didn't have maid service daily (which we didn't need anyway), we still had access to the hotel's facilities and amenities such as the pool (didn't use cause we're on an island and surrounded by beautiful beaches), restaurant/bar (didn't patronize cause we ate at dakine local grinds spots instead), hammocks (which we chilled on every night), and washers/dryers (these we did use and were very inexpensive). There were some nice extras too like the beach chairs in the room which came in handy as we took them with us all around the island. We also got to borrow snorkeling equipment from the front desk for free. Also, when we lost our card key for the room, we didn't have to contact our Airbnb host. Instead, the hotel just made us a new one. Oh, I would also like to mention that the Wifi is through the (Website hidden by Airbnb) free and was pretty good. This location is a pretty central spot on Molokai, just minutes from any direction. We enjoyed our stay on this very laid back island and would stay here again if and when we revisit this lovely place!

Comments: The place was neat and clean. However, the A/C is not as effective as I would hope for because how it is placed. The wall is blocking the cold air. There was a sewage smell from the bathroom at times and had to close bathroom door from spreading the room.

Comments: This place is top grade as far as local standards go. I had a wonderful time exploring and immersing myself into the local environment, culture and people. Raymond's place is ideal. Being part of the Hotel Molokai, this helps tremendously in terms of comfort, entertainment, meals and ease of access to the town and most parts of the island. Mahalo, Raymond.

Comments: The stay was great. It was all we needed for comfort. The patio off the room was nice. The screen doors make it nice to have the breeze blow through. Great centralized location on the island in a quiet neighborhood. We saw deer on the beech and whales blowing in the ocean. Great vacation!

Comments: We loved Raymond's place. The bed was soft and comfortable. The pool was refreshing after a long walk on the beach. I was on the island for work, but we got to play too. We hope to come back in a few months. I will remember next time to bring my own soap and shampoo. Thank you

So musste man fürs Essen immer 1.5 Meilen ins Dorf fahren. Evtl. öffnet es ja in naher Zukunft wieder. Das Zimmer kann aber absolut weiter empfohlen werden.

Comments: This airbnb is one of the best values on Molokai. The hotel staff are helpful and courteous. Ask for Doreen at the front desk to arrange trips. You are only minutes from Kanakakai. People are very friendly. The Saturday market is fun and your trip won't be complete without getting Hot Bread. Paddler's Inn is a nearby restaurant, and it's a treat to hear the local talent. Molokai is the kind of place to experience rural Hawaii. The Halawa Valley Cutlural Hike is incredible and your experience at Kalaupapa will stay with you long after. The Macadamia Nut farm is interesting. Food is expensive and choices are limited; however Kumu Farms is a good place for local produce. There are only 2 gas stations on the island. Most shops close at 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. Just remember to slow down - you're on Molokai.

Comments: Straight forward and seamless stay. Easy communication with Raymond who was only a quick text/phone call away if I needed anything which I didn't. Great affordable rate to stay in Hotel Molokai which is otherwise a lot more expensive. Great onsite restaurant with beautiful view across the reef at sunset.

Comments: This room is a great value compared to the Hotel's actual rates. The bed was very comfy, the AC kept the room cool, and it was QUIET. Locals were actually surprised when I told them the rate. Just FYI, this room is privately owned so don't expect daily room service. The trade off is well worth it. I'm coming BACK. Thanks Raymond, a hui hou, malama pono.

Comments: The room was comfortable and was exactly what we needed for our stay on Moloka'i. The king-sized bed gave us plenty of room to stretch out. The room's access to the hotel's bar/restaurant was a plus. We relaxed there with iced tea or wine several times on our short visit to enjoy the ocean breeze and view. We also had Wifi from the hotel. Everything about our stay here was easy. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Ray.

Comments: Great low key place to stay. Easy to communicate with host and very simple check in/out process! The ac works but can still get very hot so just know that it's not a perfectly cool system. Would gladly recommend Raymond and his place!

Comments: This was a very lovely place in a very convenient location. Such an affordable price and we got to enjoy the hotel amenities. We had a great time celebrating our birthdays! I would definitely recommend Raymond's place! You're right on the ocean front and there is a great little restaurant at the hotel.

Comments: We really loved our one night stay in Raymond's rustic but well kept, clean unit. We were leaving early in the morning to hike down to Kalaupapa so really appreciated the very comfie bed and the Keurig coffee. We arrived early the day before our hike, but Raymond graciously allowed us to stash a few supplies in the frig while he got the room ready since we wanted to take off for some exploring on the west end of the island. It was lovely enjoying a beverage by the pool when we got back and to watch the amazing Molokai sunset before getting ready for dinner right there at the restaurant on the premises. The ahi was fantastic and the ambiance and live entertainment delightful....right next to the beach! Be sure to make reservations. We didn't so had a little wait but the staff went out of their way to give us the best available table as quickly as possible. All of the resort staff were friendly and helpful. Our only complaint is that we only booked for one night. We fell in love with Molokai and this quaint hotel. You couldn't ask for a more responsive, gracious host than Raymond. We will be going back!

Comments: Raymond's place is ground floor unit, part of the hotel. It's just like the pictures. We especially liked having beach chairs and towels provided and having a coffee machine, fridge and microwave in the room. You will hear the people upstairs so bring ear plugs if you're noise-sensitive. The restaurant/bar has a magnificent sunset view and staff are very friendly. We just wished we could've stayed longer! Moloka'i is a gorgeous island and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying here.

Comments: Superb! This little apartment was exactly what i needed. A king size bed, AC, and super clean! Raymond is fantastic host. Very helpful! I went to visit some friends who live in Molokai and when they came to visit me at the hotel, they said that this is one of the best apartments in Hotel Molokai that they've seen. I would definitely recommend staying at Raymond's place.

Comments: This place is basic and fine. The price is great! And having access to the amenities of the hotel is also great. Good coffee maker, and beach chairs and beachtowels. But nothing to stir the coffee with, not even a spoon, and no tea bags, Kleenex, or other small amenities that I have grown used to in previous Airbnb bookings I’ve made.

Comments: Raymonds place was very clean and tidy..... best part of our stay was the bar/ resturant just down the path. There was a little confusion with checkin and pricing but it was resolved quickly. Cheers for having us.

Comments: Raymond was a very accommodating host. He allowed us to check in hours early after learning we had been unable to reserve a car rental and had no place to put our luggage upon arrival on the island. His place was very comfortable and clean with access to many resort amenities. He also provided thoughtful extra amenities, including beach chairs and towels. It is close to local services in addition to those available at the resort. It is a beautiful setting, right on the ocean, although no beach on the property. We recommend it as a central location for touring the island.

Comments: The condo is part of Motel Molokai. There is a patio outside the condo or you can sit by the pool close to the water with beautiful sunsets. The room is basic with no daily cleaning which is fine with us. It’s has WiFi, refrigerator and coffee. You can use the computer and printer at the motel. There is a shampoo, conditioner and soap dispenser in shower. Hotel Molokai seemed to be one of the few nice restaurants to eat at in the evening with very good food.

Comments: Perfect spot for staying on Molokai! It's a bit of a walk to downtown, but the shuttle is only $5 per person, so it's pretty convenient. Staff is lovely and the beach is small but not crowded at all. We were the only people on the beach for hours. We loved it. Only complaints we had were the shower had a few hairs in it, and there was only one half roll of TP when we arrived. Totally minor.

Comments: Hotel Molokai was just the quiet getaway I was looking for and Ray’s unit was great. The amenities at the property are good: bar/restaurant, pool, hammocks, beach access. If you can’t rent a car (I wasn’t able to) you can easily pay the hotel shuttle for rides to town, airport, and tour activities.

Comments: Raymond, our host was responsive and helpful. His simple and clean unit at Hotel Molokai is in a convenient oceanside location near the main town. Great for the budget traveller who just wants the basics. The kitchy/cute complex has a nice restaurant for lunch or dinner with live music in the evening. Also recommend local Molokai Car Rental for decent used-car wheels at affordable rates. Be aware that cell service can be spotty there and elsewhere on island (T-Mobile did better, AT&T mostly skunked out). But hey, you're on Molokai to "get away from it all", right?

Comments: Raymond is a great host! He responded quickly and allowed me to check in earlier when I had an emergency to take care of. The place is located on Hotel Molokai so the cleaniless, amenities, location, view was great! I was only troubled by the barking dog next door but I don't think it belongs to the owner next door so don't worry too much about it. Overall, I had a great stay!

Comments: Hey, when you are in Hawaii and need a great place to rest your head after visiting the sites on Molokai this is a great place. Yummy warm coffee to start your day. My host had the air-conditioning on prior to my arrival so I felt welcomed One of the best restaurants I went to during my 12 day stay on the island Was right on site, fresh fish, steak, ono delicious. One of the perks, several chickens, roaming, no kidding, great to reduce bug population, especially mosquitoes!!

The sheets are sooooo soft we slept like babies. The Restraunt at the Hotel Molokai had the Best Live Hawaiian Music & we sat at a table right on the ocean. The Best mini vacation we ever had!

Comments: This is actually my second time staying at Raymond’s. I came a few months back with a friend and stayed here after doing the mule ride to Kalaupapa (an unforgettable trip). This time around we just wanted to relax and have a weekend getaway from Oahu. So first of all, you can’t beat the location! Raymond’s place is located at the Hotel Molokai, just a couple miles outside of the main town of Kaunakakai. The bar/restaurant attached to the hotel is just footsteps away from your room, and it’s open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. We had dinner one night there and sat right on the water and watched a beautiful sunset. The big bed in the room is so so comfy—it felt like a pillow. There are extra bathroom towels, beach towels, beach chairs, and keurig coffee available. Check in was simple and the a/c unit cools the room quickly. This room and the hotel in general are not what I’d consider luxurious, but rather quaint and comfortable and pretty perfect for anyone who would be interested in visiting Molokai. If I come back again, I’ll probably request to stay at Raymond’s a third time.

Comments: There aren’t many places to stay on Molokai. There are just a couple of condo complexes, the Molokai Hotel, and then single family homes with air BnB. This unit is s condo-ized former room at the Molokai Hotel. It’s okay, clean and centrally located. The lock on the lanai door was just a chain that left us feeling insecure. However, we had no problems whatsoever. This place will do, but you might be happier in condo with a bit more space and a kitchen as there are literally only 4-5 places to eat out and even then only one place remains open on Sundays.

Comments: Raymond’s communication was immediate and attentive from booking onward. His unit is a sweet little hotel suite unit that was impeccably clean and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable...worth the stay alone! He provided soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and there was even a variety of coffee pods to choose from so we could enjoy coffee on the patio in the mornings. He had beach towels, beach chairs and a beach mat available to use. The grounds were beautifully manicured...hammocks next to the ocean...a (Website hidden by Airbnb) on-site restaurant and lounge. It was a great base for us to enjoy our days exploring the island of Moloka’i and relax at night poolside while listening to the ocean waves lap the shores.

Comments: Great location, nice clean and updated room. The bed was INCREDIBLE - King size and so comfortable. Just steps away from the hotel bar, restaurant, pool, or hammock.

Comments: Very clean, the staff (and locals) at Hotel Moloka'i are some of the nicest, most helpful people I have ever met. The food at the restaurant was very good and the hotel is centrally located for tourism options. Would definitely stay here again.

Comments: Nice and clean, quiet hotel room with private entrance and patio. Keurig and assorted pods in the room. Good restaurant on the premises; we ate there every night. Not too far from town. Pool and laundry made it a great place to rest up and relax for a few days.

Comments: Look no further than Raymond’s place! This was the perfect spot for our weekend getaway. The location is central and very close to all food options. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. A/C was plenty cold and the amenities at the hotel such as the hammocks, pool, and restaurant were awesome. You cannot beat this place for the value.

Comments: Raymond’s place is nice. The building is on the ocean and you can walk to the sandy beach from the place. Moloka’i is a beautiful island. Very close to the town center of Kaunakakai.

Comments: Ray is very quick to respond and very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Be aware to visit waterfalls in Halawa Valley you must pay to visit... we were quoted 2 different prices.. $90, $60. Then I went down to the valley and found a local, she told me you should not spend over $30 booking direct with family that run tours. Which must be pre-booked. We didn’t realise so ended up missing out on the biggest experience we came to do in Molokai Highly recommend having a rental car for full duration of stay. Beach in front of Molokai Hotel isn’t good for swimming.

Comments: The room is in a good location, less than 2 miles from the town. Heed the advice, and rent a car in advance! Otherwise, your adventures will be severely limited. There is intermittent bus service, no Uber/Lyft, and very few taxis. The walk into town isn’t bad though. There are bikes available to rent as well. The hotel has a restaurant, that’s open from lunch though dinner. It’s right by the water, so beautiful views, and breezes. The lunch prices are good. Paddler’s Inn and the bakery in town, were also good choices. The room was just that, a hotel room, basically. There’s a microwave, and a nice size small fridge. It had a Keurig coffee maker, but I’d suggest bringing your own pods, as there was not much choice in what I was offered. There was a nice size tub/shower (low water pressure) separate from the sink area. The sink drain was having issues draining. There’s a nice, small patio where you can relax. It has a glass door that doesn’t lock, and a screen door that can be chained. There is a tear in the screen right where you could unlock the chain. The room also has a nice tv, with cable. Cell service isn’t readily available, but there’s a phone in the room that includes local & stateside coverage. There’s WiFi, but it’s spotty at times. The room included 2 beach chairs, a sand mat, and beach towels. The pool has nice chairs, and there are hammocks with a great view. The ocean there is very shallow, with a mud bottom. Bring water shoes. Perfect probably for kayaking or SUP, but wasn’t sure where to rent those. The hotel does have an activities desk where you can sign up for tours. You can also do that in town. The hotel has a shuttle that you pay to use. I never saw Raymond, and communication with him wasn’t timely (other than him letting me know when the room was ready for me).
