  Comments: My stay with Tanner was fantastic! He works from home, so check in and all other communication was super easy. The apartment is incredibly easy to get to and the neighborhood is super vibrant and safe. It's right next to an elementary school and within walking distance of tons of great restaurants and bars. However when you're in the room it's very very quiet. The room is on the basement floor, has it's own entrance, and a very comfortable bed. My only complaint is that you don't get much light from the window. For the location, comfort of the room, and quality of the host, the price of this listing was a steal. I would definetly recommend Tanner's apartment and hope to return soon.

  Comments: Don't second guess about anything and take it. The host is an awesome chill guy and maintains a quite neat (Website hidden by Airbnb) even provided bottled water and fresh towels which was awesome! The room and accommodations cannot be beat for the price .I just needed to crash for a night with a couple of friends and I was more than content with this place.I was planning on coding all night but the place felt so secure and comfortable that I couldn't help falling asleep.

  Comments: Tanner was, hands down, the best host ever. Being unbelievable friendly and always trying to help you to get the most out of your days in NYC. He mapped out everything we needed to see in the city, showed great hospitality and made us feel like home in New York. The apartment is located on Lower East Side, in a really nice neighborhood with tons of good restaurants, close to subway stations and shops/groceries from all over the world right around the corner. It is possible to walk all the way up to Central Park and see all the great things the city has to offer on the way up, me and my friend did it. I must say that Tanner fulfills his goal of creating a feeling of “Home Away From Home” with ease, and I highly recommend everyone to stay at this place when visiting the great NYC!

  Comments: Tanner was a great host, he really went out of his way to make us feel welcome and was helpful and open for any questions. The room - although it really doesn't get any daylight - is clean, quiet (especially for being pretty close to many cool restaurants and bars in the LES) and really close to Essex/Delancey subway. We can definitely recommend staying at his place, especially if you spend most of your time exploring Manhattan!

  Comments: Omg if you do not book this room you're loosing your mind. Clean, very comfortable bad & the best location there is! You do not need to walk more then one minute in order to get to great bars, parties and tons of restaurants. Tanner is amazing. Once we arrived he set with us and explained about the city and where to go. Was really wonderful ! Helps whenever and very kind always. The price was very cheap to this location. We walked to China town, little Italy and Soho. All are very close. Very good place to stay for a fantastic time in NY !

  Comments: Tanner and his roommate are very nice and welcoming hosts. Our arriving has never been so well prepared thanks to tanner's emails and manuals (very good practice !!). The flat is quiet and well located (near subway and in a cool area with lots of nice bars and restaurants). The room grants in the lower level grants privacy.   Comments: We arrived early AM to discover that the streets were barren and very grungy. At first we thought that we made such a mistake booking the Lower East Side... and then we realized that is how New York City is. The character is tough and it grew on us the longer we stayed! Tanner's apartment was in a fantastic location and the price was really great because it was right in the middle of where the action is yet it was a quiet and safe street with a school right next door. I'm glad we were at his place considering that we just came from beautiful outdoors of Utah to the city. Tanner himself was a amazing host as he spent a lot of time to speak to us about things we could do in the city. The recommendations he gave were perfect and the distance of the attractions from his apartment were exactly as written in the description. Thanks again Tanner for letting is be your guests! We were only there for one night so we didn't get to take advantage of the rooftop garden or any of the other amenities but the bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The informations we already received in the approach was very extensive and clear.   Comments: Tanner and roomate Coy were superb hosts. We had difficulty with our devices and Tanner was accessible in getting us there. We were very disappointed in the accomodations. We walked from the subway stop after dark around 8 PM and the neighborhood was seedy an felt unsafe. The block prior to the unit was full of trash and there was a trash dump next door that was rat infested. The unit may work for younger people, but was not comfortable for a couple like us in our 70's. We would not return and leave it up to see other reviews to make your decision.

  Comments: Tanner was the perfect host! He is a very kind and friendly guy, always ready to help with advice. The apartment ist clean and the room is big, having its own toilet gives you some privacy, it's actually a little apt. by itself. We would absolutely stay there again and warmly recommend it. Lower East Side is the place to go out in NYC and it's the perfect starting point to discover the lower half of Manhattan as well as Brooklyn.

  Comments: I had a nice stay. The room was very basic, but that's all that I needed. You have a lot of privacy and your own entrance which is really great. In addition to the room, you also have your own bathroom and sitting area. Being walking distance from the subway and shopping/restaurants was awesome. I would stay here again.

The location was great for us - plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance and easy to get all over New York via the subway (stop about 2 mins away from the apartment). We had the whole basement area to ourselves which was more than enough room, and the views from the rooftop were great. Tanner was a great host, and even helpfully printed out our Knicks tickets. Definitely recommend his place.

  Comments: From our first contact on AirBnB to arrival, to our departure this was a super experience. Tanner was very helpful and hospitable. He helped me find parking foe the duration of our stay which proved a very good saving. He provided site seeing brochures which were very useful. His own notes left for us were additionally useful. The room and them apt were very clean and comfortable. This is our first time not staying in a major hotel in NY. Compared to previous visits the apt and location in Lower East Side enabled us to feel the soul of NY. We would definitely stay here on a future visit.

Apt extremely clean and neighborhood quirky but fun and vibrant with a great coffee shop (Marm) just around the corner. Had a bit of trouble getting into the place but that was my mistake not reading the attachment Tanner sent ahead so don't forget to open the directions attachment before you go.   Comments: This was my first time to use Airbnb because I've always been worried about staying with a stranger. Tanner made this experience so comfortable and easy that if all hosts are like him, I'll never stay in a hotel again! His place was very clean, he kept to himself just enough to give me the hotel- feel of privacy, but was responsive and helpful with everything I needed. He sent a packet of very detailed info that not only helped me find his place, but to get around, have things to do, etc. I was there with two short days to find an apartment of my own and he actual volunteered some advice and helped me know which trains to take. Tanner is an amazing host and you will not regret staying with him. If I wasn't getting my own place in Manhattan I would stay with him every time!

  Comments: We only stayed one night in Tanner's place, as we arrived jetlag from Europe. The place is well located. The street and the area are safe but we were disappointed with the general cleanliness of the streets around. 2 weeks before we arrived, Tanner send us very detailed and useful information on how to get to his place. This was great and made us find the place very simple. The place was well equipped and we found it as described by Tanner... One draw back for us, as we were jetlag: the hours of operation of the clothes washer and dryer effected our sleep.

His place is very clean, near, comfortable and in a great location. Having the private enterance, and bathroom was perfect for my little get away.   Comments: Tanner was a great host! He was super knowledgeable about New York, and even gave my girlfriend and I some awesome recommendations for places to eat around town. The neighbourhood was safe - we definitely had our doubts at first, but once you get used to it (coming from Vancouver, BC), it was all good. The listing description was accurate. Tanner's place is nice, clean and very close to the subway station (ll be done within a couple weeks.

  Comments: We arrived at midnight, Tanner prepared all for us even with two chocolate, so considerate. The street is a little dirty and you can see big mouse running outside but the apt is clean and neat without any mouse, everything is reachable and convenient.Once I locked myself out of the apt, Tanner's roommate came back to helm me go back to the apt. Great roommate! The apt is basement and next to the laundry, someone do some washing at night and morning, so it's noisy sometime.But if you have a sound sleep, no problem. The subway is convenient and there are some fast food nearby. I recommend Tanner's apt to my friends and I will be back again.

  Comments: Staying at Tanner's was really great. Easy accessible from JFK by metro. In a way first stop on Manhattan with J and Z line. Room was clean and ready upon arrival. Really liked the private entrance. Location is really fine for explorimg manhattan. Walking distance Soho and west village. And don't forget to visit the east village. A borough which people forget to visit! Would come back to this place without hesitation.

  Comments: It was great! Tanner gave us great explanations about everything beforehand. Even though we had a little date mix up - my fault - he was super flexible and took us in (thanks again for that!). The location is a perfect starting point for exploring the city either walking or just hopping on the subway, which is really close to the apartment.   Comments: My girlfriend and I had an amazing stay at Tanners place. We arrived earlier than the planned check-in time but he worked with us and already had the room cleaned and ready for our stay. The apartment was very accommodating and Tanner made everything very simple and easy to find. The location was perfect as it had many bars, restaurants and little shops around it and was right by a subway entrance that will basically take you anywhere you want to go in the city.   Comments: Tanner's detailed information pack made life really easy getting to the apartment and navigating our way around it and the local area. Ideally located in the lower east side, easy to walk to the great bars and restaurants of this quite gritty, but cool neighbourhood. The apartment was very comfortable, nice size bedroom with a great bed and lovely crisp linen. As someone who has problems sleeping. I slept really well here. The downstairs private bathroom was a bonus. Nice shower in the shared upstairs bathroom. Although we didn't cook," just made tea" the kitchen was very well equipped. Unfortunately Tanner was away during our visit we only got to meet him briefly as we were leaving. Toy his flatmate was very helpful and made us feel welcome. I would definitely stay again. Love the Cow painting in the living room!

  Comments: Absolutely recommended. The apartament isn't the Rich hotel but is very clean and arranged. It is in a good neighborhood with good restaurants, close to subway. It is close to Williamsburg bridge and East River Park...amazing place for running!! Tanner is a very friendly guy.   Comments: Lest euch unbedingt das Appartment Manual durch, damit ihr auf jeden Fall Zutritt zu der Wohnung habt, im Idealfall druckt ihr euch es aus. Wir waren insgesamt etwas enttäuscht von dem Zimmer, weil wir wohl überlesen hatten, dass es im Keller liegt und man nur sehr wenig Licht hat. Es fehlt ein Platz für die Koffer, sodass wir unsere Sachen für die Zeit nur auf den Boden legen konnten. Auch unter der Beschreibung des super sauberen Zustandes hatten wir uns ehrlich gesagt etwas anderes vorgestellt. Das Zimmer liegt direkt neben dem Raum für Waschmaschinen und Trockner, sodass es durchaus relativ laut werden kann. Leider haben wir Tanner nur am Anfang kurz gesehen und hätten damit gerechnet, zumindest die Wohnung kurz gezeigt zu bekommen, was nicht der Fall war. Das nächste Mal haben wir ihn bei unserem fünftägigen Aufenthalt erst bei unserer Abreise zu Gesicht bekommen. Die Lage der Wohnung ist super, die Lower East Side ist ein belebtes und sicheres Viertel mit vielen Kneipen und Restaurants, die noch erschwingliche Preise bieten. Wenn man Lust hat, ist man auch schnell in Williamsburg (Brooklyn), von unserer Seite aus definitiv empfehlenswert.

  Comments: Excelente atención! Muy buena ubicacion, cerca del metro, y en un area muy segura. Habitación muy limpia y ordenada, y una cama muy cómoda. Tanner fue muy amable y servicial. Before the stay, Tanner provided us with detailed information about how to get to his apartment and to retrieve the key, which made the check in process very easy. We found the apartment very nice and clean - probably cleaner than my own house ever gets. It was very convenient to have a half bath right off our bedroom. We also loved the location with so many great bars, cafes, and restaurants nearby and an easy access to subway. Last but not least, Tanner seemed like a very nice person and a dedicated host willing to go the extra mile to make his guests comfortable. We really appreciated the possibility to leave our luggage in the apartment past the check-out time. Would absolutely recommend Tanner's place and stay here again!

  Comments: We stayed at Tanner’s place for 17 days and enjoyed the friendly and polite nature of Tanner and his flatmate. It was a pleasure to meet both of them. Besides Tanner provides excellent structured information for his guests. During our stay the whole apartment (incl. the shared bathroom with the shower tub) and also the rented room with the separate restroom were very clean. The bed was very comfortable, what is important especially for a longer stay.

  Comments: We loved this space and location. It is right around the corner from some fantastic bars and restaurants. Also, the subway is very close. There is a great market just up the street and we used that as an option to have a few meals at the apartment. The apartment itself is comfortable and spacious. The ground level was primarily our space with a bathroom and bedroom. The shower is upstairs, but this was not an issue at all. The space is super clean, too. Tanner was a great host from afar! He's easy to get in touch with and will answer questions or concerns very quickly. The Lower East Side is a primo part of Manhattan. With really no other lodging options, save one Comfort Inn, Airbnb saved the day (As did Tanner!).

  Comments: Me and my friend were for just one night at Tanner's place, but it was perfect for us. It is a big apartment and it's very clean! It is in the basement, so you have just a little window. But it was no problem for us because we were there just for one night to sleep. The advantage of the basement is that the room is very chilly during the warm days! Tanner is a very friendly host and trustworthy! He helped us with ecerything we needed. We have enjoyed our staying!

  Comments: Great location on LES. only 2 blocks away from subway, and the walk is on Delancey st which is big, so it always felt safe walking back. Even though it wasn't a full apartment rental, we had more privacy than we expected since we had the full lower floor of the apt, which was great! Also, Tanner provides clear manuals for apartment use, and has guiding sticky notes, which is a huge plus as you feel like you can get all your questions answered without the need to ask too many questions. The bed is super comfy which is a plus for me and I really enjoyed how the Williamsburg bridge was right in front. A 3 minute walk to the Subway station, to the grosery store and around the corner you have several lunchrooms, night bars and coffee corners. The appartment is clean, quite and good. Tanner offered everything I need and more, the place is almost a separate apartment even counting with its own entrance. Making it perfect 100% private, which is great when you come back from a long day around the city. He as a host respected my space and privacy and let me be the one who approached him in case I needed something or go for a drink. Everything is set out for you to be confortable, placing post-it’s all around the place showing tips for everything. As for amenities, you count with hair dryer, shampoo, even wash soap and advil. So there are really no complaints. It's a great apt to travel by yourself as it is located in the Lower east side, close to the subway. Thank you tanner for a great stay!

Tiene todo pensado: desde un lugar cómodo para dejar el equipaje hasta una fibra para marcar nuestras cosas en la heladera. Sin duda, uno de los mejores Airbnb's en los que nos quedamos. El barrio es ideal por su ubicación, ni tan cerca del ruido de Times Square, ni tan lejos. Igualmente con el metro puedes estar en cualquier lado en 20 minutos. La línea F será tu salvación. La limpieza y la veracidad de las fotos son un 10. Diría que incluso el apartamento se ve mejor en persona que en las fotos. Upon arrival, Tanner was personable and friendly. We had a nice chat, and he was genuinely interested in helping us find the unique city experiences we were seeking. He even texted us ideas a day later! The space itself is smallish and minimal, but it's everything you need. It is quiet, with no street noise. This was also the cleanest Airbnb I've been in, with many amenities provided. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shared living place was a great place to relax after a day out in the city. The location was personally ideal for me as well! Secluded enough from the noise of NYC but also easily accessible to the best of the Lower East Side (Chinatown, Little Italy and the East Village are all walkable). The Williamsburg Bridge is right outside, as well. Depending on the time of the year, I'd definitely recommend doing a run or walk on it and exploring Brooklyn on the other side.

The location was great- right in the lower East Side with tons of great restaurants and only a few blocks away from the subway. The bedroom was surprisingly quiet, given the neighborhood and the fact that there's a construction site next door. In a week, we were awoken 2 or 3 times early in the morning from construction noise or the laundry room next door. But each time we fell back to sleep. The place is very clean; the bed is very comfortable; the kitchen is adequate and we appreciated the private bath and entrance. We would definitely return.

  Comments: CONS - None PROS - Comfiest bed EVER seriously... The location was cool and funky and conveniently close to subways, this made it a breeze getting around. We also found it relatively safe coming home late at night as the apartment street entrance was pretty well lit up. Just note that the shower is upstairs and is shared between other house guests, this was not a problem for us. You do have your own private toilet. We didn't get a chance to meet Tanner, however all communications prior and during our stay was excellent. We had some trouble entering the apartment initially and Tanner was all over it and fixed the issue :) Our only regret with staying at Tanner's place would be that we didn't get a chance to go through his awesome guide book...

Your bedroom and toilet are downstairs in the apartment, adjacent to the living room but we managed not to see anyone for the four nights we stayed as we were out and about all day long so it felt very private. Shower upstairs which is fine! Couldn't recommend more!! The area is residential but also lively, round the corner is a great ramen restaurant and seriously tasty 99 cent pizza slices if you're hungry on the way in! A couple of blocks down you get in to the heart of the lower east side, so many restaurants, bars etc. Highly recommend Dudley's for brunch and Mr Purple if you want a cocktail with a great view. The perfect place to stay if you want SoHo but cannot afford it, just ten minutes walk away if that, but what we found is you don't need SoHo!

The shower is shared (a quick spiral staircase trip upstairs) and is very clean as well. This place is very close to the subway (Tanner's suggestion of the citymapper app is a godsend). The neighborhood has great eating (Clinton Street Bakery is yummy) too! Tanner is a great host. Highly recommended.

Well, everything matches exactly what is advertised and this level of detail and consideration persists throughout the stay. He provided a ton of information (in the form of a house manual, instructions for check in, tips on getting around the city, etc) that helped us have a smooth stay and enjoy the city a lot. The apartment is very clean and the bed is comfortable. The eletronic lock is convenient for check in and check out. Although we didn't stay around the neighborhood much, it seems quite nice. We never felt unsafe, even arriving at 2-3 AM by subway. It was a pleasant experience overall and my wife and I would definetly stay at Tanner's place again.

  Comments: This place is exactly as described! Tanner took a lot of time to write out descriptions for his guests, so please READ THEM ALL! The location was great for us. We loved the Lower East Side neighborhood. It was the perfect launching point for all the things we wanted to do in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It felt so safe to stay here, being right across from a school and a police station. You have your own basement entrance and your own half bathroom. The shared TV room is also in the basement next to your room, but Tanner nor his roommate came down to watch TV during our stay. It was very private! The only "inconvenience" is that the shower is upstairs on the first floor and you have to share with Tanner and his roommate. This is CLEARLY stated in Tanner's description, so I do not have any issue with this-- just want to point it out again. Also, there is NO closet in the room and again this is clearly stated in the description. He does have a hanging bar with hangers where we put our clothes. Tanner is very quick at responding and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! I wish we could've stayed even longer

Deuxième bémol, laverie près de la chambre, et le bruit des machines en fonctionnement tard le soir est vraiment gênant. Il serait peut être bien d’instaurer un règlement avec une plage horaire pour éviter cette nuisance.

  Comments: Hi everybody, I stayed 3 nights at Tanner's appartment, and I can recommend it for your short NYC holiday. Anyway it would be better to know beforehand that the room is in the basement of the building and there is the laundry near the apartment. That's ok if the laundry doesnt' work at night or early in the morning, otherwise it would make noise. The room and bathroom was very clean, and Tanner is a very welcoming host. And it's really comfortable to enter the apartment independently because the lock is automatic and tuned to your own code.

Tanner is quick to respond. For the price though you'd save more by going to the Hotel Pennsylvania, or other likewise hotels. The kitchen wasn't clean, and Tanner never came and spoke with us. He did reach out to us through messages to see how things were going though. All in all it was an okay experience, but if a friend asked me for advice I'd recommend a hotel over Tanner's place.
