  Comments: The 2 bedroom is in an old building in a great location. The bathroom, mainly the shower, is very old and a bit dingy. We also encountered a number of cockroaches, which, given that it's Hawaii is not shocking. That said I think the place can be a bit cleaner and less musty. There is only one air conditioning unit, which means one of the bedrooms isn't air conditioned. But all this said, the apartment is decent for a short period of time. Having a kitchen, washer and dryer while on vacation is fantastic, after all. The main thing that made our stay a bit weird was Derek's communication. My mother, who I was traveling with, asked if we could have a few more beach towels as there weren't enough for the 4 of us. After he said that he didn't, my mother texted that he should probably have more. Granted, I have no doubt that my mother's tone could have been better. But I don't think it excuses his response. In response he called her, mad that she texted rather than called (it was late), raised his voice and said things like "I don't have a thousand towels to give you." The conversation ended with him hanging up on her. The experience made us avoid communication with him for the rest of our stay.

  Comments: Derek's apartment was excellent. He greeted us at 3:00am due to flight delays and yet he greeted us with with open arms. The location is central to Waikiki to food and shops all in walking distance. Derek was extremely easy to get a hold of via text or by phone. He would follow up to ensure our stay was comfortable and accommodating. The apartment was clean and very nicely furnished. And to top it off, we had a great view! I will be definitely back again.

  Comments: Derek had an awesome place for us to stay at. It made our whole vacation. With a 5 minute walk to Waikiki, what more can you ask for. Walking distance to great shops, restaurants, marketplaces, we couldn't ask for more. Hardly interacted with Derek with exception to receiving the keys and handing them off but that's exactly what we wanted. Definitely a place I would recommend staying at.

  Comments: Derek was super welcome and friendly! My plane was delayed an hour so he had to wait for us extra but he didn't seem to be annoyed at all. his place is clean, tidy and cuzy. the location is great! it's only a short walk away from the beach, many restaurants (an amazing musubi place included), an outdoor mall and many convenient stores. I stayed there with my husband and my parents. the layout of the place was perfect for 2 couples. it's not big but every inch of the place was leverage to its full potential. Derek stocked up on everything we needed there including shampoo, conditioner , body wash (he used legit brands), towels, snorkel gears and etc. i definitely recommend Derek's place.

Place was all stocked up, loved that it had a washer/dryer (so nice when you go to the beach and walk around Honolulu a lot when it's really humid). Would definitely use this place again and recommend to friends.

Derek was super nice and helpful. He let me know that we could check in early and he accomodated for us changing our check out time. The location is close to the main part of Waikiki. The condo was exactly as shown on airbnb - beautifully furnished, very clean, great view, safe and close to everything you could possibly need (ABC-Store, shopping, dining, beach...). Derek answered all our questions about Hawaii when we checked-in - he gave us tips on what to do while on Hawaii. Long story short: everything was perfect. We definitely recommend this rental.   Comments: Derek was such a great host! He was able to meet us when our flight had been delayed. He made me and my family's stay very comfortable with a beautifully furnished condo along with amenities; he went over and beyond for leaving us the necessities in a home. This place was convenient and close to literally everything. I spent every morning walking to the beach (only a 5 minute walk), and was close to many restaurants and shopping in the area. He was very responsive and friendly to my family and I. Would definitely consider coming back to stay again, we had an awesome time. Thank you!

  Comments: Derek was very welcoming on our arrival to Hawaii and even though we arrived from the airport earlier than first anticipated, he had no issues in meeting us earlier and welcoming us to the apartment! The apartment is in a great location with just a 400 metre walk to the beach! Derek was very helpful with our queries and an excellent host. It's the little things that stand out and Derek had everything covered, even providing snorkeling equipment for our trips to the beach!   Comments: When we arrived Derek was away but he'd arranged for his friend Donovan to meet us who was helpful and welcoming. Having said that, Derek was really good at communicating beforehand so there were never any concerns or problems. The apartment was nicely decorated and had a lovely outlook over the canal. Location was great as it was a short walk to the beach and close to the Waikiki shops.

  Comments: We stayed here with my mom for our 6 days trip. It is a nice size for 3 ppl with everything you need from basic kitchen utensils, beach towels and snorkeling equipments. Condo was little outdated and not as clean as I expected, however the location is unbeatable. About few blocks walk to waikiki beach, restaurants and grocery store. Very convenient! In addition, this building is very secured. We feel very safe during our stay. We would recommend this place for sure.

  Comments: There is a lot to like about this rental: quiet, convenient location a few blocks from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki Beach, overlooking the Ala Wai Canal, pleasant view of the Honolulu hills from the balcony. Nicely furnished, comfy beds, plenty of hot water. The "ABC" convenience store is a quick walk for food and sundries. The AC in the master bedroom works well, but it can get a little warm in the second bedroom if the doors are closed. The provided fan helps to ameliorate the heat. Also, we misconstrued the "one and a half bathrooms" wording. There are (as shown in the pictures) two vanities adjacent to a central room with one shower and one toilet. That said, Derek is a responsive, pleasant host, and we can certainly recommend this place.

  Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at Derek's home. He was a true gentleman and went out of his way to be helpful and make our stay memorable. Derek gave us great advice and made us feel welcome. The condo is very pretty and resembles all of the pictures. The location is only 4 blocks (5 minutes) from the beach and close to several grocery stores. There is also parking spot at the condo that is quite convenient. When we return to Honolulu, we will most certainly stay with Derek again and so should you!

He corresponded with us constantly prior to arrival and his friends met us at the front door due to other commitments Derek had on the day. The beds were very comfortable and everything worked well in the apartment. Two bathrooms worked very well for us and our teenage son. We found all the information left by Derek in the apartment to be very helpful.

  Comments: Derek is a great host, responding to all communication promptly and welcoming us warmly to his home. The condo is compact but very comfortable for four and is conveniently located near the Ala Wai Canal. The parking space is a real bonus and there is a small pool area within the complex. Derek is a lovely guy and happy to provide his guests with local information, eg good eating spots etc. If you need to contact Derek from the airport make sure you have some data as the airport doesn't have great wifi connectivity. We enjoyed our stay.

He also provided transport eg airport transfers etc. He was informative and very welcoming. The apartment is well located and most services are within easy walking distance. Local buses are also nearby for accessing services beyond Wiakiki. It is if a good 4 star standard and was comfortable.

Derek was overseas when we arrived however he organised a friend to let us in & show us the place. From the females point of view the only things missing were an ironing board & a kettle.   Comments: Three older women on a dream vacation to Waikiki and this place was awesome! Two block walk to the beaches, close to the zoo, and freeway but it faces the beautiful canal. Wonderful breezes flow through every room, we were very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked, and we loved having our morning coffee on the balcony. Having a washer and dryer in the condo was very convenient too. Derek is so welcoming and provides you with beach towels, snorkels, boogie boards, even sunscreen! What a wonderful host he is.   Comments: Derek's place is fantastic! My friend and I spent 4 weeks here and it truly could not have been a better, more comfortable stay. Derek is so sweet and helpful, and was always very easy to reach via text/call. Pros: -Quiet but literally 1.5 blocks from all the hustle and bustle (restaurants, bars, ABC stores, groceries, shopping, beach, etc.) -Gated very secure building. We kept the front door open most days while we were home and the worst thing that ever happened was we had an adorable toddler come visit us -Balcony with table/chairs and a gorgeous view of the canal -All kinds of beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, snorkel gear, floaties, beach towels) -In unit washer/dryer -Fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc, even some tupperware and plastic/paper supplies) -One sink in each room (shower/toilet are shared) -Reserved parking space in gated lot Cons: -Mattresses are fairly firm (plus or minus depending on your preference) -The smaller bedroom has shutters separating it from the kitchen/living room. My friend and I had similar schedules so this was never an issue but the shutters really don't block out any sound. -WiFi is not the fastest. Pages take a second to load. We were able to stream Netflix some days, other times not at all. -There's only 1 AC unit and it's in the master. While I was very concerned about this before our trip, we hardly ended up using it. If you open the front and balcony doors, there's there's a strong cross breeze that cools the apartment well. Also there's a large fan in the smaller bedroom which I used at night. -You can't receive mail/packages here

He showed us the place where we will live, answered our questions, advised the places that should be visited. The presentation was excellent, we immediately liked the apartments. The location of the apt is very convenient, a few minutes walk to the ocean, in the neighborhood there are several shops, at night it is very quiet, so nothing will interfere with your sleep. The apartment is fully consistent with the photos. Two bedrooms, kitchen and living room, toilet and shower. There is air conditioning, refrigerator, stove, washing machine, and everything else that is necessary for a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed staying at Derek's apt. To all who are going to have a good vacation in Hawaii, we definitely can recommend this place.

  Comments: The condo is just as pictured: very stylish and comfortable. We appreciated the cleanliness and convenient location. Be mindful that with the convenient location comes street/traffic noise. (You're in the middle of a large city, after all.) It was our choice to have the windows open to enjoy the breezes, so we were aware of the traffic. But, you could use air conditioning. This comment would likely apply to any apt. near the beach/downtown. The kitchen was extremely well equipped--right down to rubber gloves for tidying up! We had a rented car part of the time, and the parking space was an added plus. Highly recommend this condo. Derek is an enthusiastic and welcoming host, always available if there are questions. I would rate this 10 stars if I could.

The apartment had many extras including snorkel equipment, beach mats and towels and the kitchen had everything we needed. We could easily walk or take the bus anywhere! It's smallish for two couples but would be excellent for a young family. The unit is functional and well equipped for beach activities including folding chairs, boogie boards and mats. Overall, good value for the location and accommodation.
