Comments: What a beautiful house in a beautiful area. Jennifer was a gracious host who left us a lot of information and chocolates, apples and flowers! The house is in a convenient location with Woolworths nearby which made simple food preparation a breeze after a long day.

Comments: Place was in an excellent prepared state with all amenities in working order. Jennifer made us feel especially welcome and was always available to solve any potential problems

Comments: Three old friends arrived to share Jennifer's house for 5 days. On arrival Jennifer was there to greet us. She showed us around her beautiful house, had left us information about the local area and lots of travel pamphlets. She also invited us to use anything she had left in the fridge. This was really helpful as when you fly you don't bring any extra food etc. She had also left a bottle of wine and chocolates for us to munch on. The house was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The backyard was also great to look out onto and had the weather been better would have been beautiful to sit out in. The house is even better that the great photo's Jennifer has supplied to Air bnb. We spent an entire day exploring the area around Balmain and found lots of interesting places to visit. We felt very safe in that area and on 2 nights we returned to the house quite late after being out exploring all day. I have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful house to anyone and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Comments: Jennifer went over and above the call of duty in making us feel as though we were welcome guests in her beautiful property. She left us wine, chocolates, milk and other provisions on arrival which were such a treat as we were too tired to go to the shops. Jenny also took the time to explain the bus and ferry routes and gave us information about where to visit. The property was most definitely a home and I appreciated that Jenny trusted us to stay in her home and to treat it with respect, which I hope we did. It is an honour to have someone place so much trust in another person, especially as every item in the property was so obviously a much treasured possession. I would love to stay at this property again at some time in the future.

Comments: Very glad we chose this place. Three good size bedrooms, 2 living areas and separate well appointed kitchen/dining, private courtyard - all we could have hoped for. Our friendly and obliging host, Jennifer, met us on arrival and showed us round, clearly explaining the features of the property. Parking outside, quiet street yet close to the main drag of Balmain makes it an excellent location.

Comments: Jennifer was a very accommodating and friendly host with a beautiful house. We couldn't have asked for anything more from our stay. She even offered to take some of our excess baggage to the Op Shop as we were running out of time and space to pack! Would definitely recommend her as a host and her house as a place to stay-very comfortable and our home from home.

  • Reviewer: Sally

Comments: Charming accommodation With everything you could possibly need to make for a perfect holiday Walking distance to great shops and restaurants and a short stroll to the ferry Lovely outdoor sitting areas Jennifer was a very welcoming and accommodating host Would definitely recommend

Comments: Jennifer met us at the house when we arrived and made us feel at home. The house looked just as we had viewed on the website and fulfilled our expectations. We loved the private outdoor area.

  • Reviewer: Jean

Comments: Jennifer's house is comfortable, spacious and graceful, the fully-equipped kitchen and beautiful garden are our favorite sections. Jennifer is very friendly, charming and she prepared many flesh foods for us, introduced us the information about supermarkets, restaurants and transportation. During our stay, we embarked on a ferry and enjoyed the landscape in the harbor district, then returned to the tranquil Balmain Village, which has become our important memory of Sydney.

  • Reviewer: Michele

Comments: Everything described in previous reviews is absolutely true. Warm welcome by Jennifer, charming house in a quiet neighborhood, very accessible to public transport to the georgeous city . Thank you so much Jennifer, to have made our stay so easy and agreable.

  • Reviewer: Clare

Comments: Stayed for 3 nights in Jennifer's beautiful Balmain terrace. The kitchen was well stocked. We had a great stay in this beautiful house, no issues at all. I would note that the stairs are steep, which is typical for this type of house. If you have small children staying (as we had) or people with mobility issues, you would need to take extra care.

  • Reviewer: David

Comments: Lovely home in a great location. So much better than staying in a hotel. Jennifer is a wonderful host who worked hard to make sure all our needs were met. Highly recommended.

  • Reviewer: Megan

Comments: Jennifer's Balmain house is an absolute delight. A lovingly decorated and comfortable house in a quiet street. Our family had a most enjoyable stay - breakfast in the tree-filled courtyard, nicely appointed bedrooms with quality linen. We enjoyed spending time in Balmain and imagining how nice it would be to live there.

Comments: Jennifer made us feel extremely welcome. She was there to greet us when we arrived and even had a fridge stocked full of essentials for us. This wan't necessary but was greatly appreciated. As for the house itself, it was better than perfect and suited our needs down to a tee. The area is very quiet yet very close to the shops on Darling St and would be a perfect place for you to have as a base camp while exploring the city. Highly recommended.

Comments: We had a lovely stay at the Balmain Village Garden House. Jennifer was a perfect host, meeting us on arrival and making sure everything was in order. We arrived to a well-stocked pantry, fresh fruit and a bottle of wine. The location was great - close to transport, cafes and shops. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished - taking us back in time. We would be very happy to come and stay again.

  • Reviewer: Anthony

Comments: Jennifer was agreeable to an early arrival and was very welcoming, explaining how the house 'worked' without being intrusive.

Comments: We had a wonderful week in Balmain. Jennifer was very welcoming, the house was charming, very attractively furnished and in a perfect location close to the shops, bus stop and ferry(with a frequent minibus connection) and was very quiet. Jennifer was very generous with a well stocked fridge & pantry , shampoo, soaps etc in the bathroom and fresh flowers. Would love to return one day!

Comments: We stayed at the Balmain Village Garden House in July, 2016. Jennifer met us on our arrival and made us feel very welcome including a bottle of wine and some chocolates. The house is lovely, full of character and in a perfect location about 15 minutes walk from the ferry and 5 minutes from the buses. Balmain is a bustling place, with a multitude of cafes, bars and restuarents. The beds were comfortable, and even though it was the middle of winter we were never cold, in fact when we had the gas fire on it was very cosy indeed. The kitchen is well stocked and a supermarket is less than 5 minutes away. I don't think I could find a fault at all; everything was as described. The only concern would be the steepness of the stairs, common in house like this I imagine, but for a person with mobility issues the upstairs bedrooms could be difficult. The master bedroom+en-suite and the family bathroom are downstairs however, so it might not be an issue at all. Highly recommended indeed.

Comments: This is a delightful gem cottage in Balmain with easy access to local cafes and walks, and near the city via bus or ferry. Jennifer had bus & ferry information, spare 'opal' transport cards, brochures and maps for us. Everything is beautifully presented, wonderful breakfast treats & welcome wine and chocolates. Perfect weekender when visiting Sydney.

Comments: Jennifer was a great host who met us on arrival and explained all to us. We loved staying at her house - it's a great location within walking distance of all Balmain facilities. Parking was no problem. The house itself is lovely with a great ambiance and many amenities including breakfast packs, free wi-fi cable tv. We stayed for a week and will definitely return if our travels bring us back to Sydney. Highly recommended.

  • Reviewer: Alex

Comments: We all absolutely loved staying in Jennifer's house. There were 6 of us staying across the 3 rooms as although the house has a cosy feel it had lots of room for group meals etc. All spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. When we arrived Jennifer greeted us with a bottle of wine and fresh fruit, crumpets and other breakfast stuffs in the fridge. Made us feel at home right away. Balmain as an area is lovely and has lots of good food and drink options and and handy supermarket a short walk away. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Comments: Had a wonderful long weekend at Balmain Cottage. Jennifer was very welcoming and left us breakfast, wine and chocolates. The cottage is beautiful, clean and the beds very comfortable. There's only a five minute walk to Balmain village with many great restaurants to choose from. Would highly recommend.

  • Reviewer: Bruce

Comments: A warm and sincere greeting into a treasure of a house filled with beautiful things. The location was quiet and with close shopping and transport links. Wonderful restaurants nearby, although the kitchen is very well equipped. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Reviewer: Alain

Comments: Jennifer's welcome is fantastic. Plenty of food, drinks and chocdolate... The2 house is lovely, cosy and really well located.

  • Reviewer: Julia

Comments: Jennifer was very welcoming and clearly puts a lot of love and care into her home. We thought the photos didn't do it full justice and were overwhelmed with the consideration she had put into items left for us. As described in other reviews, the facilities are great and close to lots of amenities. Great for exploring Balmain where there are restaurants, shops and pubs and good access to the buses which go into the city on a ten minute basis, and the ferry wharf is also available. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jennifer's home and would definitely recommend it.

Comments: Jennifer responded to my emails promptly and was very helpful. The extras of breakie provisions and wine was a lovely bonus. The private outdoor area was a delight. House accurately described. Nice house lovely owner. Highly recommended.

  • Reviewer: Tessa

Comments: The photos on Airbnb do not do Jennifer's house and garden justice. This is a traditional old house with all the modern comforts you would expect. Lovely quality cotton bedding. Jennifer made sure we were comfortable and even put in some deck lighting which made our three week Christmas stay all the more special. The daily copy of the Sydney Herald delivered to the front porch in time for breakfast was a bonus as were the other treats left for us. It suited our needs perfectly and we were a three generation group where the oldest person could stay on one level with the master en suite bedroom adjacent to the kitchen and family sitting rooms We would recommend this house and the host. Rest assured any problem would be quickly resolved as Jennifer is usually only five minutes away

Comments: Just leaving after a 3 day stay in this beautiful house. The place is flawless with great character and a lovely garden, a real home from home. Jennifer has thought of everything from cards to use local transport to the local paper delivered early each morning, she even left us fresh food for breakfast and some liquid refreshments. The location is ideal, being a short 5 min walk from Balmain shops and restaurants and 15 minute walk to the ferry, bringing you straight to circular quay under Sydneys famous harbour bridge and along the Opera house. We would highly recommend staying here and will look it up again ourselves if in the area.

Comments: Jennifer has a lovely period period home in what is like an inner city suburb. Might not feel inner city being in Balmain, but does have that feel. Our host is lovely and left us lots of provisions which made eating breakfast easy. There are books to read, a daily newspaper delivered and a quick bus ride to the ferry. A lovely time had by the four of us. Thank you.

  • Reviewer: Andrew

Comments: A lovely house in a beautiful neighbourhood, within easy reach of the city centre by bus or ferry, with ample on-street parking for the car. Jennifer ensured that the house was clean, well-presented and stocked with all the necessities and then some on our arrival. Our incoming flight was heavily delayed, yet she was still on hand to welcome us and was always available to answer questions. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Comments: A lovely house just a few blocks from shops and restaurants as well as the bus line. We loved everything about it.

  • Reviewer: Tim

Comments: We love Balmain and Jennifer's place is perfect for a quiet house but a short stroll to the centre. Also the public transport is very accessible from here. The house is very comfortable and cosy and the garden is very pleasant.

  • Reviewer: Sue

Comments: Everything you could possibly want is available. Access to Balmain shops/restaurants is 5 min walk. Easy access to city

  • Reviewer: Vera

Comments: The host canceled this reservation 60 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Reviewer: Noel

Comments: Jennifer's house was more than we could have hoped for. Easily big enough for 6 people and the 2 bathrooms proved so useful. The house has such a cosy feel to it, with a gas coal-effect fire in the very comfortable rear lounge. The large kitchen diner is such a great area in which to socialise and if the weather had been a bit better, we would have made more use of the beautiful garden and barbecue area. The house is situated in a lovely area of Balmain, not far from the main shopping street (including Woolworths supermarket) and numerous bars, pubs and restaurants, with great links to the city. Couldn't have wished for a better place to stay for our four-and-a-half week stay in Australia visiting our new granddaughter and her parents.

Comments: Home from home!!! Excellent facilities . Beautiful goodies for a first breakfast and a chilled bottle of wine to unwind with after our long flight. A most gorgeous private garden to enjoy the sunshine. If like me you don't want to leave as Jennifer's home better than any 5 star lodgings I have stayed in. It's in a beautiful suburb well serviced by retail shops coffee shops and restaurants. Will definitely return some day

Comments: Lovely traditional house very close to Balmain centre. September evenings were quite cold so had to use heating. In summer would be perfect. Jennifer is the perfect host. Many Thanks.

Comments: This beautiful tastefully decorated home offers supreme comfort and terrific location. The garden in the backyard is an oasis of beautiful and healthy plants. A very quiet location with on street parking that was never a problem. The house is full of charm and Jennifer's bedding and towels are of the highest quality and cleanliness. Jennifer was so generous and welcoming, giving us a walk through of all that we would need to know to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The kitchen was fully stocked for our use and Jennifer had thoughtfully provided breakfast provisions for us - which we gratefully used - enjoying a leisurely start to the day and breakfast and coffee in the garden. Position of the house is excellent - walking distance to the shopping centre, ferry and bus transport, not to mention how easy it was to access the house with the help of (Hidden by Airbnb) maps. My friends and I can not recommended this property highly enough!

Comments: Jennifer was a wonderful host very quick to communicate and her home was so comfortable and inviting in a perfect location. Comments: Jennifer has been a great host! We have enjoyed our stay at Jennifer's house for the past 7 nights. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils and other supplies like bread, milk and eggs. The interiors are based on traditional English design and we felt peaceful, warm and cosy in the house. Highly recommended!

Comments: My siblings and I stayed here for 10 nights. This is one of the best Airbnb places we ever stayed at! The house is just beautiful with a nice garden. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Close to public transport and shops. The kitchen is well equipped to cook a full meal. We only cooked once just because there’s so many restaurants in Sydney. Lots of towels, the bed and pillows were comfortable, the bed sheets smelled fresh and there’s even bathrobes for us to use. Wifi was fast. Jennifer was a great host. Highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again!

Comments: Great place and great hospitality. There were 3 couples in our party and we all thought it was a treat to stay there. Note bathroom is on ground floor and two bedrooms upstairs. Master bedroom has an en suite. We stayed in winter and heaters and aircon kept place warm when needed. Highly Recommended.

Comments: A serene home and pleasant garden perfect for a family stay. Balmain is a special part of Sydney - on its own peninsular, yet only a 12 minute bus ride into the CBD. The suburb is one of Sydney's best - with houses of original character and an extensive shopping street and supermarket nearby, and the Sydney harbour and ferry boats for alternative transport and scenic walking routes. Jennifer's sandstone house is decorated beautifully and in character with its 100+ year origins, with a light-filled kitchen that is extremely well organised and equipped, and stocked with essentials and extra delicacies to enjoy. Jennifer is the perfect host and I guarantee you will enjoy your stay.

Comments: Jennifer ‘s house was perfect for our stay in Sydney. The house was a home away from home and we all really appreciated the breakfast supplies. Our beautiful Aunty came to visit and enjoyed the wine that Jennifer left for us. The garden is a special place to spend time in on sunny mornings and afternoons.
