Comments: I was your first Airbnb and you were mine, and i can hardly imagine that i will once have a better airbnb experience! The room and bed is great, lots of privacy and space, even for all my suitcases! The own bathroom is also great, everything you will need is there! I told Steve that the showerhead needed a replacement, but my guess i that he did that the same day;) The location is great for trips to newyork and brooklyn! The walk to the subway is about 8 minutes, but i sincerely recomment to take a city bike, which is located just around the corner. With the bike Steve's house is a great startingpoint for a bike trip across the brooklyn bridge and manhatten! If you are as lucky as I was, Steve might even show you his amazing cooking skills and you can enjoy a marvelous dinner with this amazing host! I can only say, if you see this add... Pack your bags strait away and fly out to meet Steve! I'll return to New York for sure, and when i do.. I already know where i'm gonna go. I wish you the best Steve! Cheers

Comments: We enjoyed staying at Steve's apartment. Pros The apartment is about 10 min from the subway station, it takes approximately another 20 min to get to the Central Park. We had our own bathroom. The apartment was quite clean, we had really nice bedsheets and towels. Steve is a very nice host, he answered all our questions really quickly, he helped us with our luggage and we had 2 fresh cinnamon rolls waiting for us on our first day. It was a great value deal. Cons The area where the building is situated is a bit industrial, but it takes just a few minutes to get to a nice neighborhood. We had no cold water in the sink, but Steve was going to get it fixed. It wasn't crucial for us, but if it is for you check this with Steve. We enjoyed staying at the apartment and would definitely recommend it as a great value deal.

Comments: I just spent two amazing weeks at Steve's apartment. Steve is a great person, very kind, helpful and laid back. He gave me a lot of privacy and made me feel like at home. His apartment is very cozy, the room was great, large, very bright with comfortable bed and air condition. A big advantage was a private bathroom. The location is great, very close to Manhattan and there are a lot of bars and restaurants in walking distance. I highly recommend this place and want to thank Steve for everything, I had a great time! :-)

Comments: My boyfriend and I spent one night at Steve's place. He was a great host from the get-go - very responsive to questions and messages. Upon arrival, the room was immaculate and as pictured. We also had a private bathroom and our own AC window box. Steve was so welcoming and made us feel at home! The area is up and coming, but entirely safe. We had no issues walking around, even during the wee hours of the morning. While we did not spend a lot of time in Brooklyn, what we did experience was great. Some of the best restaurants and shops are within walking distance from Steve's. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable stay in NYC!!!

Comments: Steve's apartment was really lovely, exactly as the listing showed - clean, bright and comfortable. Steve was a brilliant host, giving us lots of information about the local area and things to do. Fort Greene is a great area to be staying in, with lots of bars, restaurants and cafes to hang out in as well as in close proximity to Prospect Park, Atlantic Avenue Mall and with easy access to Williamsburg and Manhattan. Would love to stay here again!

Comments: The room was exactly as advertised and Steve turned out to be a great host. We had really good conversations and quite a lot of laughs. There's nothing bad I could say about the apartment or the neighbourhood. Public transportation and a great variety of good places to eat and drink out are just a short walk away. It's really easy to go to Manhattan in just a couple of Minutes, too. The room and the bathroom were very clean and Steve provided me with towels, internet access, subway map, restaurant and bar locations and even a welcome doughnut!

Comments: Our stay at Steve's place was great! He was very friendly and welcoming, and gave us lots of great info about the city. The accommodations were exactly as described, and we usually had the place to ourselves when we were there. The location was great- on the edge of a nice area of Brooklyn and easy access by subway or bus into Manhattan.

Reviewer: Dinara
Comments: Steve is a very gentle and helpful host, he accommodated all our requests and provided us valuable advices and hints to enjoy the experience. the apartment itself could use some update, but overall it was decent size, clean and having a private bathroom is a luxury in NYC. The location is good, but the apartment is located a little bit (like 100m) outside the best neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe or anything, and metro, bars and restaurants were all walking distance. Overall we were very satisfied.

Comments: Steve was a great host. Super nice. He gave us a map and a list of recommendations for bars/restaurants in the neighborhood, which was very handy. He thought about everything, and even gave us a european power plug adapter! The room was exactly like in the picture, nice and clean. There was also AC. The bed was very comfy. The only negative thing I can say is about the location: the street is very industrial and dirty, and can feel a bit uncomfortable. That being said it's a 5 minute walk to a very nice neighborhood, a 15 minute walk to the subway station, and the restaurants on deKalb avenue are great.

Comments: We stayed at Steve's apartment for one week. He is a nice guy and provides a lot of helpful information about the neighborhood. We did not see Steve a lot but when we met him, we always had a nice conversation and he gave us some advice for interesting things to do. From the apartment you can reach the subway in a short 15 minute walk to go to Manhattan or other parts of Brooklyn. Nice coffeeshops (Bittersweet on Dekalb Ave has great coffee and doughnuts to start your day), restaurants and stores are just a couple of blocks away. The room as well as the rest of the apartment were very clean. The room also has an own air condition. The close-by highway is a little bit noisy.

Comments: Steve was a great host! He was very nice, gave us a lot of information about the area, restaurants, bars, etc. He even drew us a map. The room was clean and as shown in the photos. Comments: Steve was a great host and full of awesome ideas for restaurants and cafes. He also was more than willing to help us find local shops like random stationary places. And if he didn't readily know the answer he would search for it and text you later with a response. Upon arrival he also helped orient us to the neighbourhood and the nearby subway (15 minute walk). Overall a good experience.

Comments: Steve was very nice and helpful, and communication went smoothly throughout the visit. The room is really cozy and pleasant, clean, and as pictured, and it's really nice to have your own bathroom. The street is a bit gritty but the neighborhood is nice - there are many good coffee shops, restaurants etc., within walking distance. The only challenge for me was that the metro was a bit far away (for me it ended up being ca. 20 mins walking distance) which can be a bit difficult if it's cold, or late, or you are carrying something. But other than that, great stay.

Comments: My time at Steve's place was awesome. He is very flexible, helpful, communicative and super friendly. The apartment is very clean and well maintained. The room is great, lots of light, space and very comfy. Having an own bathroom is a luxury in New York, 6 stars for that! There are 2 citibike stations next to the apartment, so getting to the subway is quick and fun. I can highly recommend staying at Steves place and would be happy to stay there another time myself. Thanks again for everything!

Comments: My friend and I love this apartment! Steve is really nice. The furnishing is modern. We get our own bathroom with towels provided which is awesome! Room can get kinda chilly but as we turn the heater on problem is solved. The apartment is within walking distance to the metro so it's convenient to get around. In all, I would definitely recommend this place!

Comments: I had such a nice stay at Steve's apartment. The room was beautiful and peaceful, and I had a great time exploring the neighborhood. It's a bit of a walk from the subway, but I felt pretty safe walking back alone at night. I only got to meet Steve briefly, but he was very friendly and welcoming, and gave me detailed instructions for getting into the apartment. It was a lovely place to come back to after exploring the city all day!

Comments: Steve is a nice guy and was very accommodating / understanding around my arrival. Overall though we did not have a great experience as there are some issues with the apartment - including a kitchen sink that doesn't really work and a shower that is a bit tricky to use. Additionally the internet went out when my girlfriend was trying to work. On top of this, the building itself was a bit uncomfortable. At one point we called the police about what seemed like a domestic dispute and there overall seemed to be some strange people floating around. The location is also not particularly inviting as it sits nearly below the BQE. Again, Steve seems like a good guy and yes, the place is all in all on the inexpensive end of for central Brooklyn, but I would suggest that he put some time into making sure some basic things are fixed in the place.

Comments: We were initially hesitant to book the place because it was a 15-20 min walk from the metro but there's actually two bus stops a block away near the Unit that connects you to the metro that made it very convenient. Steve's a great host, very friendly and ready to give advice on food and stuff. Having your own bathroom is indeed a steal in New York.

Comments: What a lovely apartment and a cozy room in Brooklyn. It is well located close to several facilities (bars, restaurants, street market, subway...) and close to the Brooklyn bridge. Moreover Steve is a really helpful host always willing to give very useful tips. I have really appreciated my stay there.

Comments: Steve is a friendly host and is aware of your well being. I had a nice and bright room at Steve's and a good bed. I did not use the facilities much because NYC and the area near by was amazing to discover. As i arrived the area looked a bit rough and industrial. That is a part of the charm and only a fem blocks away there are lots of restaurants, deli's, parks. I would not hesitate to go back... If Steve will have me :)

Comments: Steve was amazing! He received us perfect, He gave us subway maps, restaurants, etc. We did not have any expectations and was truly amazing, super friendly and helpful and made our stay a real place to vacation and want to stay forever The department was and is beautiful, exactly as in the photo, the fact of having private bathroom is a luxury and a priceless comfort, the neighborhood super safe and quiet, go to the subway is a short 10 minute walk across the street from Fort Greene is beautiful (also has buses at the corner but do not take it because we did not know how to move in that means of transport), it is close to many supermarkets and places to eat. 100% recommended in conclusion, we were very happy with our stay :)

Comments: Steve was a nice host, he waited for me till late to check in and patiently show me the place, like how to lock and unlock the door. The apartment is located in a convenient place in Brooklyn. It's clean cozy. But there's only one thing I'd like to point out, it's the noise out of the window at night. Because of the AC installment, the noise is not well blocked. If you're a light sleeper like me, that's the thing you need to take into consideration before booking this room. And hopefully the host can solve the problem in the future. Overall, the experience was good.

Comments: Steve's apartment was as advertised/pictured. Very clean and comfortable, and well located to Ft. Greene, DUMBO, and downtown Brooklyn areas. Steve was out and about most of the weekend, but was friendly and helpful when he was around. I'd just recommend confirming your planned arrival time in advance; there's no key box, and since Steve isn't always around the apartment you'll need to work out a time when he's available to check you in.

Comments: My sister and I visited NYC for our journey to Afro Punk's two day festival. The location of Steve's apartment was within walking distance to the event! The room appears as it does on the photo and the AC was greatly appreciated after hanging out in the NYC Humidity and sun all day. Only suggestion is more dusting and setting up arrival times prior (possibly a week or two out). Aside from that Steve was prepared with a nice folder and map with dining options and recommendations, local areas, and routes to the nearest train station and popular areas. Thank you Steve for opening your home up and hospitality!

Comments: Steve was very friendly and helpful in providing us info on what to check out in the city. He had a little folder in the room that included a map on how to get around the city (felt like a hotel room). The location is about 20 mins walking from the metro, so I recommend getting a CitiBike pass. Overall, our stay in the room was very comfortable! We had a great time.

Comments: Steve is an outstanding host, and extremely good at communicating regarding any questions that you may have about the apartment, or just recommendations for places to visit, eat, drink or commutes. Furthermore, Steve always makes you feel welcomed. The apartment is very homely and clean. You have your own bedroom (double sized bed), and your own private bathroom. The location is perfect to explore, both, Manhattan and Brooklyn. Brooklyn Bridge is only approx 15 mins walk from the apartment, which is a must. There are a number of Subway stations (York St/Jay St/DeKalb/Lafayette Ave) in close proximity (appox 10-15mins walk), which take you directly into Lower Manhattan and are only a few stops away. If you have any further questions, then do hesitate to message Steve and he'll be more than happy to assist.

Comments: Check in was smooth. We arrived at around 12pm and Steve let us in. The room is as described very bright with a full size bed, a small closet, a drawer, a table. We had own bathroom and privacy in Steve's apartment. We were free to use everything. Centrally located in Brooklyn a bit far from train stations. In aprox. 15-20 minutes walk from nearby train stations and Brooklyn Bridge. we were told about it before booking the room. Bike rentals are at both corners, but it is additional cost to your pocket. A lot of convinient stores and food around. First days were a bit cold and we had to use a heater. Last two days were very hot and there was no AC in the room, only fan, but it did not help a lot. Checked out at 11 am. Overall, our stay was good. Thank you.

Comments: This place was a steal! I'm from Philly so I dig the "hood" if it were. That means bodegas opened late and a lot more people watching...which I love. I stayed for the AP musical fest so it being within walking distance of the park which was a major perk. The neighbors were hella friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised at how chill the area was with parking and the noise being basically nil. The photos are true to the apt and it's a good size for two people for sure. The only other thing I would suggest is getting a mini tv for the living area but with fast wifi and my own personal tablet I was able to watch my weekend shows undisturbed. I would definitely stay here again.

Comments: The room at Steve’s is bright and nicely furnished. You also have your own little bathroom there, which is really convenient. Kitchen (coffee maker, fridge,...) can also be used. If you’re okay with walking a few minutes to the next subway station (which I perfectly was), then the location of the appartement is really okay. If not: There’s also a citibike station and I think also a bus-station nearby. I think for New York City this neighbourhood is rather quiet (traffic and neighbours). Although Steve and I only met briefly in person, contact via airbnb-Chat was helpful and pleasing. So: I really an recommend this cozy room in Fort Greene/Brooklyn/NYC. Thanks for having me at you place, Steve.

Comments: Steve was super communicative over the Airbnb app and had very clear instructions on checking in. The space was nice, and it was great having our own bathroom as well. The walk to the nearest station is a little long if you’re looking to get into the city on a daily basis, but it’s a pretty walk. We didn’t get to see him very much since he was working and we were out exploring a lot, but the moments we got to talk with him, he was super nice, funny and easy to talk to!

Comments: The pictures are very accurate and the place is kind of located near a lot of stores. The G train wasn’t working when I visited then at night the A and C also stopped so it is a bit of a nightmare if you main purpose is to be in manhattan. Otherwise it’s a beautiful place.

Comments: Steve was super friendly and quick to respond to any messages. His quaint home was a great place to lay our head after such long days exploring the city. Bus, subway stations, and citibike locations were very walkable from his home. Just a few blocks up we’re plenty of restaurants and cafes. Good place and great price

Comments: Steve's place is small but exactly as advertised. The room itself was a good size and very clean, as was the bathroom. The bed is very comfortable and the neighborhood/street pretty quiet. Steve himself is a nice person - friendly yet not too intrusive. I felt very comfortable being in his home after meeting him. The location was pretty good too (considering the price of the stay). It took me about 10 minutes to walk to amazing restaurants on DeKalb, 20 minutes to walk to the Brooklyn Academy of Music and 25 minutes to walk to DUMBO. I felt safe walking to all these neighborhoods during the day and early evening. (I took cabs late at night).

Comments: Steve was very kind and had great communication with me before and during my stay. His place was just as it was in pictures, very nice and clean. The located for me was great because my friend's wedding venue was close by, and the neighborhood he is in is close to so much great stuff. It's a nice easy walk to different metro stations, but if you are in a rush it's very easy to lyft or uber anywhere quickly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in NYC!

Comments: Steve was a wonderful host. He is very hospitable. I requested an extra blanket and he got me one next day! I was very cozy. I travel to NYC for work weekly and always look for simple, clean, thoughtfully decorated rooms and this one was exactly as described and perfect for my work week. The private bath is a plus. For my commute I decided it was more fun to take the 57 or 59 bus on Flushing to the F train so I could grab a coffee at Brooklyn roasters on my way, than to take Q or B. The commute to midtown was easy.

Comments: Great location in Brooklyn with nearby shops and restaurants, and also a quick 15 min train ride into downtown Manhattan as well! Steve's place was just perfect for a couple. Quiet, clean, cozy. We cooked a lot of simple food to save money on our trip, and the kitchen was well equipped. Steve was a friendly host, interesting to talk with and had great tips of things to do and see. Highly recommended!

Comments: Steve's place was located easy walk to the Subway, with plenty of restaurants and coffee spots along the way. There are Citi Bikes available at both ends of the block which made commuting around very easy. Steve's street is relatively quiet, and we felt pretty safe in the neighbourhood. We unfortunately didn't meet Steve until our last nights stay, but he was very easy to communicate with throughout the entire stay.

Comments: Steve was extremely nice & more than accommodating during my stay! He gave my friend & me a super warm welcome and ensured that we had a smooth and easy check-in/check-out. The room was clean and exactly as pictured and the bed was beyond comfortable, not to mention the amazingly soft and warm comforter. Steve even offered to allow us to overstay our check-out time. His response time to my messages was very quick & communicating with him was stress-free & simple. Overall, I would definitely book with Steve again & I would suggest to anyone looking to book a place in Brooklyn to go with him as well.

Comments: Steve's place was ace. I checked in very late at night, and Steve had left really thorough and easy to understand instructions of how to access the apartment (he was working late that night). As I'd been in Brooklyn for work, my trip was really hectic and super tiring, and so Steve allowed me to have a lie in and check out at a convenient time on my final day. The place was really clean, quiet and very homely. The bed is so comfortable - slept like a log every night. Would totally recommend this place and if I need to go back, this will be my first choice. Thank you Steve!

Comments: We spent a great week at the lovely apartment of Steve. It’s beautiful decorated and the room is bright and just like on the pictures. We felt immediately comfy and safe. Brooklyn is gorgeous if you need a short break from the loud and crowded Manhattan visits and want to eat a lot of really good food in a nice area. We’re truly thankful to have decided to spend our time at Steve’s place. He is such a nice, super interesting and intelligent guy who gave us great tips and let us let our luggage at the room on our last days until our flight home in the evening.

Comments: Steve's apartment is the perfect "home base" for a quick trip to NYC. Advance communication was clear, and checking in and out was streamlined to perfection. The space was clean and although relatively compact, there was more than enough room, both communal and private. I've previously lived in the neighborhood and enjoy the convenient access to multiple subway stops and bus lines. Steve is a generous and friendly host and is very easy to get along with. Thanks for a great stay Steve!

Comments: Awesome centralized location with easy commute into the city. Ended up spending most of my time over at UrbanGlass which was a nice 15 minute walk through Fort Green Park. Never felt unsafe walking home late at night. Steve’s place was a nice comfortable space to come back to and decompress after a long day/night. The room was larger than I expected, great natural lighting, thoughtful touches throughout, fantastic host with some great stories. Thank you Steve, hope to be back soon. Happy Holidays!

Comments: Steve’s accommodation is a great spot to spend the nights while exploring NYC. But beware that the room is extremely cold during the winter since there is no installed heater. So we would recommend it only in the summer. Steve is a great host. He is mostly gone but always answers texts within minutes. The neighborhood is ok, but we (2 Girls) felt a little unsafe sometimes, just because there is a liquor store right around the corner and there are always some people sitting there, trying to talk to you. Beware that you will have to walk around 15 minutes to get to the closest Metro Station. Same is with supermarkets. But the walk is not too bad in the mornings, but once you get home at night after a long day it can be annoying. The bed is quit small for two friends but comfy. Over all we can recommend Steve’s accommodation but only if you are aware of the facts above so that you know what you are getting.
