Neighborhood Overview: Voted Brooklyn's Most Livable Neighborhood by L Magazine. . This is the best neighborhood in New York City. It is friendly, diverse, laid-back, and urban. The restaurants are great. The people are wonderful and the architecture is beautiful!

Comments: I can't say enough about my and my mom's experience with Doug and Jessica. They were warm, welcoming, accomodating and just plain lovely to spend time with. Their home is exceptional. Exceptionally beautiful, while also being incredibly comfortable and well-thought out both as homeowners and for guests. We loved our accomodations. The neighborhood is a gem. And although I had lived in Manhattan for many years and been to Brooklyn often, I had never been to this little corner of the world and after walking around the neighborhood on a stunning Spring evening, I wondered how I had not known about it before as I would have moved here years ago! If you're coming to NY and you want a memorable experience ~ stay with Doug and Jessica!

Comments: Doug was off on business when we arrived but Jessica and her two loveable dogs welcomed us into "Notorious" like we were old friends. A tour of the home was the first order of business followed by an engaging chat about art and design over tea in the bright and airy kitchen. Every room we saw had little treasures to uncover and corners to explore, it was truly a remarkable experience. If you love art and exploration this is like staying at a gallery but you CAN touch and don't necessarily have to take off your shoes, in other words it's a home first, gallery second. It was rainy but Jessica gave us ideas on what to see and do in Brooklyn and because I had forgotten a jacket and Jessica leant me hers! She and Doug were very warm and kind hosts and Jessica's fantastic breakfast managed to satisfy us for most of the day! She promised to send me her granola and muffin recipe which she makes up in her head every day...and I'm holding her to it.

Comments: Jessica and Doug's house is really amazing. Staying with them is a great experience. The house is a historic property and it is really nicely remodeled. The rooms are some of the largest you will see in NYC. The bathroom is fully renovated and the room is really comfortable. I hope to stay there again soon. Highly recommendable!

Comments: Our stay with Jessica and Doug at The Notorious B.N.B. {William H.} room was a superlative experience, and was undoubtedly one of the best airbnb stays of our lives (comparing with the fourteen other places we have booked with airbnb and similar sites these past three years). However, it would be all too easy to place all our accolades exclusively upon the stunning grandeur of this historical and beautifully renovated brownstone. Yes, the place is gorgeous and all the fine details of how so many individual pieces of the home came together in the renovation (as told to us by Jessica and Doug) were endlessly fascinating to hear about and see up close; the ride up to our bedroom floor in one of the oldest operating Otis elevators in New York, being but one of the many cool highlights of our time spent here. But put all of that aside, and you still should want to book one of the rooms at The Notorious B.N.B if only to experience the hospitality of Jessica and Doug. They are truly hosts who have earned their "Superhost" status by not only offering guests an amazing place to stay, but in topping it all off with fantastic service, wonderful breakfasts, and genuine warmth and hospitality that exceeds any expectations one might hold for even a 5-star hotel. As "Superhosts" ourselves with more than 270+ reviews to our own name, we left here with the convictions that (a) we will most definitely be back for a longer stay in The Notorious as soon as possible and (b) we need to kick it up quite a few more notches in our own hosting duties back home, if we are ever to consider ourselves in the same league as Jessica and Doug. Just book it. You will find no better listing—and certainly no better hosts—anywhere else in the world.

Comments: We had a lovely time staying in Jessica and Doug's home. It felt more like we were visiting friends. We enjoyed our conversations in the morning over breakfast. Their home was beautiful, peaceful and comfortable and their 2 dogs were very friendly. It would be a pleasure to stay in their home again when we visit New York.

Comments: Jessica and Doug were genuine, open and sincere. They made my daughter and I feel very welcome and pampered. They always seemed to go beyond any possible expectation, anticipating what we might need and offering wonderful suggestions. Their breakfasts were lovely and they had a nice balance of interacting with their guests and leaving room for privacy. Our room was clean and comfortable and had many little added amenities that were both thoughtful and practical. The area felt very safe and was walking distance to some lovely shops and cafes. The subway was right outside their door practically which made navigating the city quite easy. We appreciated the extra efforts they made to connect with us and let us feel like we belonged and were not intruding. Their home has an interesting history and is grand without being pretentious! I liked not having a TV in the room, it helped create time to relish the moments. The elevator was super cool and the art; avant garde, The dogs added some character and fun... plus they are getting a girl puppy soon so that will create even more excitement. I had always dreamed of staying in a Brownstone in Brooklyn while visiting New York City, and quite frankly, this was perfection.... completely dreamy and wonderful. Doug and Jessica made our first Airbnb experience so good; in fact , when we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria on our last night in Manhattan and it was rather disappointing compared : ) My two final words: Gorgeous and Delicious!

Comments: Lovely and beautiful house and great hosts! and the two dogs were super friendly and welcoming as well. The weather was pretty bad so me and my friend mostly stayed in our room, and it was cozy and comfortable. The location is great, metro very close by. Breakfast was nice and having a chat with other guests was fun :) I would love to stay here again next time I am in Brooklyn.

Comments: This was our 1st Airbnb experience and Jessica and Doug left a great first impression. It'd be easy to get jaded from running a busy, successful b&b with a constant barrage of tourists coming and going, but J&D have mastered the fine art of hospitality, being friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We came back from a family affair on our second evening to find a small outdoor gathering of J&D's friends and much to our delight, J&D invited us to join them and then proceeded to introduce us to some of their very interesting friends and neighbors....plus they shared dinner, dessert and wine with us. A few nights later, they invited us to watch the democratic debate on TV with them. This is very different from the faceless anonymity of most lodging situations and imbued our four night visit to Brooklyn with a sense of temporary, welcoming community. Breakfasts were simple (but ample and delicious) continental with fresh, warm bread, strawberries, blueberries and homemade muffins and biscuits -- shared with other interesting, international travelers. We had driven our car to Brooklyn, loaded with two bikes and appreciated that the parking was secure and without added costs. Over the four days of our visit, we biked every day - Central Park, across the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan and the High Line, to Brooklyn Botanical Gardens (free on Tuesday AM) and to the Brooklyn Grange rooftop farm. Biking is a great way to see NYC! The area around the Notorious BnB has tons of interesting restaurants that are within easy walking distance. All in all, this is a great base for touring NYC and is highly recommended.

Comments: A fantastic place! We were welcomed to this beautiful brownstone by Jessica and her friendly dogs and swept away by this very unique space. From the art work to the wood work, there is something to admire in every room. The bathrooms, bedrooms and common spaces are all tastefully decorated for the guests' pleasure and Doug and Jessica were welcoming hosts with great tips for how best to get the Brooklyn experience. We were lucky enough to be there for both Halloween and the New York Marathon, reason enough to visit this neighborhood alone! Costumes and Haunted Houses like you wouldn't believe, a Zombie Jazz Band and a Gospel Choir cheering on the runners- all within walking distance of the Notorious B.N.B. The breakfast was set each day with a delicious array of fresh fruit, bread, pastries and cereals. We appreciated the graciousness with which Jessica and Doug welcomed us into their home and would definately recommend this unique Brooklyn Brownstone experience!

Comments: I had a wonderful stay at The Notorious B.N.B. Usually I stay in hotels when I visit New York and this was a different experience allowing me to feel more like a resident than a visitor. It was near where my daughter lives so it was easy for me to join her for a walk to the park and experience Brooklyn. I also enjoyed the opportunity to visit with Jessica and Doug, as well as, the other guests. The accommodations were wonderful, a beautifully restored brownstone with wonderful art. Breakfast was good including the best blueberry muffins I have ever eaten!

Comments: Absolutely loved this beautiful place and hope to return again and again. Doug and Jessica are wonderful -- true fixtures in the neighborhood -- and the brownstone is so calm and peaceful, not to mention exquisitely designed and decorated. The tiniest, most beautiful details come to light here -- from the locally made soap and toiletries in the bathroom, on down to the fact that they did my laundry after two weeks away. This just could not be a better oasis tucked away in Brooklyn. Could not recommend more highly, this is a really special place.

Comments: This was our first Airbnb experience, and it was fabulous ! We would highly recommend staying with Jessica and Doug. They are incredibly friendly, open, interesting and so comfortable. We got the chance to get to know each other a bit, chatting over breakfast and playing games in the evening. They opened their home to us as if we were friends in from out of town. We really appreciated all the care and beauty they have put into their home. It is gorgeous and spacious and impeccably designed. In addition, they serve the most amazing breakfast, with delicious homemade breads, muffins and granola. Our son especially enjoyed being greeted by their 2 sweet dogs. Having previously lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn, we found the location to be very convenient. Clinton Hill is a great neighborhood with beautiful architecture and great restaurants. Thank you Doug and Jessica for a fantastic experience. We look forward to our return.

Comments: I booked this listing for my parents to stay during their visit, as I live down the street. My parents have only really spent time in Manhattan, and I wanted to give them the full Brooklyn experience in a classic and breathtaking townhouse. Jessica and Doug were so accommodating and lovely. They communicated very well and even personally called my dad to make sure he was OK with the 60 stair walk up. My parents said they had the most incredible hand-made breakfast and seriously enjoyed their stay. The bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. Jessica decorated the house so beautifully that it made it a unique and magical Brooklyn experience I was hoping for.

Comments: Jessica & Doug have done an incredible job restoring this beautiful townhouse and Jessica has a great eye for interiors. Since we stayed I've been recommending it non-stop, even to people who live in NY - it's the perfect place to take a mini-holiday in your own city. I booked this for my parents who were visiting and they loved it but would also love to go back myself for a weekend.

Comments: I reserved Jessica and Doug's beautiful airbnb for my parents first visit to Brooklyn. My parents had a great stay and had nothing but positive things to say about Jessica and Doug and their incredible home. The Notorious B.N.B. is truly a one-of-a-kind, and it's a great location to enjoy all that Brooklyn has to offer. I would highly this airbnb, and would book it again for any visitors to the area.

Comments: My experience of our stay at Jessica's place rather neatly sums up why I use AirBnB. I can't recommend this as a stay more. The beautiful, gorgeously renovated, large home was a block and a half from the G line subway which was an easy 3 minute walk. The room we had was large with huge windows overlooking a tree lined street and had its own attached modern en suite bathroom with a bonus treat of art on the walls. There is a lift to help with those heavy cases. The 2 dogs were welcoming and enthusiastic about becoming friends! Jessica made us a lovely breakfast made all the more delicious by her exquisite selection of hand made and designer mugs and napkins etc. We sat and talked over breakfast about New York, about art and music, about the history of this building. I'm rather looking forward to staying here again one day and perhaps organizing a dinner banquet for New York friends on that 26 seater dinning table. The only negative i can think of is that the G subway line crosses Brooklyn and doesn't connect to Manhattan but a switch to the L line is easy at the Metropolitan station. The place cost slightly more than my initial budget but is totally worth it and I'm so glad we just went with it. I'm sorry we didn't get to meet Doug. Thank you Jessica for the perfect stay for us to end our New York trip with. I do hope we meet again someday.

Comments: My husband stayed here while on a business trip. He was within walking distance of all his meetings and two blocks away from our daughter. Jessica made him welcome even before he arrived. Their home is beautifully and comfortably appointed, with every detail carefully thought out. He particularly enjoyed chatting over common interests with a glass of wine in the afternoon. He doesn't often enthuse over accommodations, but this was an experience of warmth, comfort and ease while being able to take care of business. Thank you so very much.

Comments: Jessica and Doug made our 23rd wedding anniversary feel extra special. Jessica's interior design expertise was evident on every wall and surface in every nook and cranny... Everywhere, inside their home, there was something lovely and interesting to look at. Both Jessica and Doug are art collectors and their home feels like both a well curated gallery and a high end boutique hotel. Breakfast was spectacular- smoked paprika creme fraiche with those potatoes? So yummy. And Jessica not only accommodated my gluten allergy-- she dazzled me with her delicious GF cake. And their recommendations for local activities/restaurants were helpful too- we had a great time at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and the Greek restaurant listed in their Airbnb info. Thanks so much, Jessica and Doug!

Comments: My girlfriend's parents had never been to Brooklyn before - so when they finally decided to come and visit us for a weekend I wanted to make sure they stayed somewhere that would help impress upon them just how lovely our slice of Brooklyn can be. Luckily enough for me, the Notorious B&B was exactly what the doctor ordered - and Jessica and Doug went out of their way to make sure my girlfriend's parents had a great stay. Comments: The Notorious B.N.B along with the William Henry room was absolutely perfect. If you are looking for a place to feel welcome and appreciate the design and history of brownstones, this is your place. We met Rachelle who showed us around the home when we first arrived and Doug, who was so kind and great to talk with - I think we ended up talking with him for a good hour at breakfast. The point is, these are great people who open up there home and make you feel part of it. It doesn't get much better and we appreciate it. Greatly.

Comments: This is a big league Airbnb listing! The house is full of character and charm - in ambience and people. Rachelle was a great house manager and put out a nice spread for breakfast. She also gave fantastic recommendations for food and drinks for our one night stay (Jordan helped). Jessica was warm and inviting and even showed us plans for the new garden - we'll have to come back to see it all finished (it looks worthy of the house). And the house is incredible. It's full of details that would be near impossible to replicate today. It's easy to get to from Penn Station and in an excellent neighborhood. 10/10 would do it again.

Comments: I stayed with my bf 3 nights and we had a memorable stay at the notorious BNB! This house is a dream house. We were amazed by the attention Jessica puts in every details of the fantastic deco of her house but also in the service she provides to her guests: delicious products (some home-made) served for breakfast, very comfy mastress, qualitative bedding, a great list of places to go in the neighborhood... We didn't know Fort Green/ Clinton Hill and we loved it. It's residential but also super lively, we found tones of great places at walking distance, nothing was missing (good coffee, resto, bars...). We really recommend this place and this neighborhood!

We were made to feel right at home in the house - chatting over breakfast (which was delicious) in the mornings and throughout our stay. Comments: Wow. This was a spectacular Airbnb experience. We've both been to NYC many times and used Airbnb frequently. Our experiences have been great, but this was the best yet! Jessica and her two doggies are very warm and inviting yet totally unobtrusive. The room and entire house are (Website hidden by Airbnb) enormous! And the included breakfast was topnotch. The neighborhood is also lovely and quieter than much of the city. It was pleasant to return there after our very long days in Manhattan. The only downside for us was that it did feel like we were on the subway a lot, as our travel plans were all over Manhattan...but I think returning to a peaceful, beautiful place was worth it :). Thank you, Jessica!

Comments: The home is very pretty, quiet and inviting. Jessica was very friendly and communicative. She was also very accommodating with special requests. If you are not used to climbing a lot of steps, you will be doing that here. But, most of NY is like that, so her home is not unusual. She does bring your bags upstairs on a lift, so that is helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

Comments: My friend and I were able to stay for one night at The Notorious BnB and our only complaint is that we didn't get to stay longer! A stunning and rare mansion in Brooklyn with intelligent and highly tasteful decor that provided a warm and inviting setting. The shower in our room was awesome! The beds were super comfortable, even the rollaway. As cool and amazing as the house was, the best part was Jessica our host. She was super communicative and helpful from the moment I inquired about booking to even after we left. She made every effort to let us check in early and prepared a great breakfast for us in the morning. We shared a nice conversation and she even sent us some cool underground events in the city for us to check out. It was a very cool and memorable stay for us and we will definitely be back. Five stars all the way! Thank you Jessica!

Comments: We really enjoyed staying and Jessica's place, the house looks even more majestic than from the pictures with every detail thought through and in harmony. We also enjoyed the quiet mornings at the breakfast table with delicious food prepared by Jessica herself, Christmas tree in the living room added to the warm festive feeling while we had one of the coldest New Year's Eve's in NYC. Subway is just a few steps from the house and express train takes you almost directly either to Times Square or JFK airport.

Comments: Jessica is a warm and welcoming host. Her home is beautiful and enormous. The home is so large that if there are other guests you may not even notice anyone is there except perhaps over Jessica’s very nice continental breakfast. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. This was my second stay at Jessica’s and I enjoyed my stay both times.

Comments: Unbelievable. This is one if he most unique, beautiful and well kept homes I have ever visited. Jessica was a pleasure to organize a trip with and was prompt to answer any question we had. The rooms were meticulously organized and clean and the beds were comfy. The art in her home is definitely museum quality with a couple massive swoon pieces which blew us away. I will be coming back with my fiancé in the near future and will do everything I can to book again. Thanks Jessica.

Comments: This house is a stunning gem inside. It’s worth staying just to walk around the living room spaces. It was unfortunate that there were plumbing problems in our room and we had to be moved, but each room has its own character and is equally beautiful. This is a great way to experience Brooklyn.

Comments: Jessica was an amazing host! The stay and the accommodations were even more lovely than we had imagined. The pictures simply don't do it justice!! We were looking for a space to have a private wedding ceremony, and Jessica welcomed our family with open arms. We felt like royalty! We stayed with her for 4 nights. Each room has it's own unique vibe, and the staff were extremely helpful as we pulled off a beautiful wedding! My husband is vegan, and Jessica even prepared a vegan-friendly breakfast cake for us. We truly could not have found a better place to experience such a special time in our lives.

Comments: This was my second time to Jessica’s gorgeous house in Clinton Hill. This time I came for a longer stay and could feel the neighborhood vibe which I loved even more than my first time. The area is growing with a wide range of restaurants and shops, all of them very fancy with great food and music. We got to visit Detroit too in the middle of our stay, Jessica’s hometown, so again as the great hostest she is, she gave us lots of tips to visit and great stories about the city. Jessica is a very professional hostess and handles any situation with great expertise. She's a great woman. Wise and interesting. I really wish she comes and visit us in Spain to show her wonderful places and treausures I'm sure she'll love!

Comments: We had a few nights at Jessica's gorgeous brownstone after a few days in Manhattan. What a glorious contrast! Brooklyn is a wonderful place to spend some time, and Jessica's place is the ideal base to explore it from. Besides the beautiful accommodation, which you can tell from the photos, we loved the really comfy bed, great shower, delicious breakfast (unsure if the best bit was the coffee, the cake, or, honestly, the granola(!)), and gracious hosting from Jessica. The internet was great too, I really appreciated that wasn't skimped on.

Comments: The rich ambiance, iconic sun-filled rooms, massive stained glass windows, an amazing chandelier, the original wood floors in the living room... a perfect blend of historic and modern. The interior design details in every room really caught my attention. But nothing beats walking down the stairs for breakfast to find a huge room with a spacious table covered in Jessica's homemade goodies. I'm a coffee snob, so I greatly appreciated freshly ground beans in the French press to sip with her perfect berry scones and jam. The conversations with Jessica and my fellow guests really made me feel welcomed. And Jessica is a fantastic host, made all of her guests feel like we are visiting family.

Comments: Beautiful place, much better in real life than what you might expect from the pictures. Loads of art and design everywhere. Loved the shower and bathroom. Plus the beds are super comfortable, as Jessica has specifically chosen everything for comfort down to the mattress pad! And the location is great, near Pratt for context, and within walking distance of some great food.

Comments: Living the Brooklyn dream... If you want to enjoy Brooklyn (and Manhattan, of course) - look no further! Jessicas house is breathtaking - very tastefully and high-end furnished, lots of beautiful art everywhere. Our bedroom on the third floor was huge with a comfortable bed, nice linens and a spacious shower. There is breakfast early in the morning (bread, cooked eggs, yoghurt, fresh fruit, granola) where you will sometimes meet other guests, which we enjoyed. Communicating with Jessica was easy and quick, we found her very accommodating. This is a very special place to spend a few nights and explore the area. We´d come back in a heartbeat!

Nice walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the Brooklyn's townhouse architecture and local restaurants. Enjoy the delightful breakfast every morning prepared by Jessica! So if you can find the available dates you want, just go. You will not be disappointed.

Each is decorated to the highest style and each is a different. Jessica is an interior designer and her place reflects her talent. There's a beautiful table set each morning for a lovely breakfast. We had homemade coffee cake, crusty bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, coffee.

Comments: Jessica, thoroughly enjoyed your warm and welcoming home again. Being my second time staying you made me feel like I’m in the family. You have a natural gift for making people feel welcomed. Life is too short and precious not to stay at a place that feels like home. Thank you for the passion you put into your home. It is truly a special place on the Earth. See you next time.

Comments: Staying in Jessica’s home was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The space is even more beautiful than you could imagine from the photographs. You can tell from the moment you step into the home the level of attention and intention that was put in to restoring this Brownstone, and throughout our stay there we kept finding little things that we loved about the place and how it was designed and decorated. But despite this level of design, it still felt like we could be comfortable and at home there. My friends and I were tempted to even just spend the night in because we loved the comfort of our rooms so much. I can’t wait to stay here again. P.S. I’d definitely recommend having breakfast there at least once during your stay. It was delicious (I loved the coffee cake!) and Jessica was very gracious in considering everyone’s dietary restrictions. Breakfast there was the perfect way to start our day.
