Comments: Great place to stay if you are on a budget. Very nice and comfortable bed. Catherine is enjoyable to work with. I even messed up our reservation and overpaid and she sent me a check for the difference. I would recommend this place!

Comments: My wife and I had the best time while at Catherine's condo! Simply a fantastic location on an island in the middle of all the wonder of the Pacific Ocean. We couldn't have asked for more. And as far as Catherine, goes, well, she responded to every email I sent her - even early the next morning after she had been on a camping trip - and guided us to one of the best beaches we've ever been to. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet getaway at the edge of the United States.

Comments: Our stay at Catherine's studio was fabulous. Check in was simple, directions and location easy to find and conveinent. We had everything we needed for a enjoyable week. I will tell my friends and family to use airbnb for travel plans, and I highly recommend Catherine's studio.

  • Reviewer: Marilyne

Comments: The studio itself is nice and is exactly as described. Nice furniture and excellent bed. The pool and jacuzzi are welcome after a long day of hiking. The negative point is that it's poorly insonorised and you feel like you share the same room than the neighbours, which is annoying when you have to get up early in the morning.

  • Reviewer: Frederick

Comments: Great location and the place looks just like the pictures. It did get warm at times without the AC, so we had to leave the windows open which meant getting some more noise than we had anticipated. Light sleepers beware--the walls were really thin and heard most of what our neighbors were up to when they were in their homes or walking around. That said, the rate is great and can't be beat.

Comments: The communication with Catherine was very good, she replied always very quick. Our stay at her place was fabulous! It's a very clean and nice appartment. It had everything you needed! we enjoyed the evenings on the balcony. It's located perfectly. the grocery store is not far as well. We will definetly recommend the place to our friends.

Comments: We had a excellent time at Catherine's studio. The Check in was easy and convenient. The apartment is very comfortable and we found everything we needed to have a perfect stay. We can highly recommend this place!

  • Reviewer: Benjamin

Comments: My wife and I had a great time in Kauai and we really liked the studio apt/room that we stayed in. We'd stay there again if we ever go back to Kauai. Because of our busy schedule during our stay we really only used the apt for eating and sleeping. Everything in the description of the studio was accurate including the amenities, location, etc. There isn't any A/C but that didn't bother me at first. However, the 3 days we were there (early October) was unusually humid so the ceiling fan helped cool things down just enough. Still overall, we had a great stay! Thanks Catherine!

  • Reviewer: Lari

Comments: Fabulous facility. Absolutely perfect for our needs. Communication with Catherine is second to none.

  • Reviewer: Gabriel

Comments: Very clean. As was described. Surrounding noise a bit annoying.

  • Reviewer: Neil

Comments: Great place, modern setup, easy to find, and beautiful location!

  • Reviewer: Justin

Comments: Catherine was fantastic, she had everything prepped and setup for our honeymoon stay. The room included many practical supplies such as paper towels, a day cooler, silver ware, and other odds and ends that were quite helpful, even a wine bottle opener! The bed is ultra comfortable, nice TV, neat clean, well decorated, and has a large shower. Catherine was very friendly and helpful and we had an amazing stay in Princeville. if you want to see the real Kauai and pretend you actually live there, this is the place to go!

  • Reviewer: Kit

Comments: We had a great time in this Princeville studio! It's a great spot for exploring all the wonderful spots on the north shore and beyond. The bed is super comfy and wifi very fast. It was nice to come back to such a comfortable place at the end of a long day. Would definitely stay again!

  • Reviewer: Julia

Comments: This was a cute little room for a great price. Nice balcony to sit out and read a good book on the rainy days. There were many thoughtful extras such as coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, and beach towels, dishes, TV, toaster-oven etc. The closest laundry mat was in Kapaa which is over a half hour drive south so keep that in mind when you pack. The pool was being renovated while we were there, but no problem since we went to the beach most of the day anyhow. As many other visitors have commented, the noise is an issue. The walls are thin and you can hear every detail in the room next to you. The neighbors at the time were quiet at night so it wasn't a problem for sleeping. The bed was very comfortable. Parking was an issue if you arrive after 8pm when the lot tends to fill up, otherwise plenty of spots during the day. Overall, a great experience!

  • Reviewer: Matt

Comments: I stayed in Catherine's condo for three nights in mid February and quite liked it. The roosters (ubiquitous in Kauai) weren't in the vicinity at all, and the bed is super comfortable. Catherine is really great and dependable about communication throughout as well, both before and during my stay there. Highly recommended for singles and couples visiting the north shore.

  • Reviewer: Terra

Comments: My partner and I stayed here for a week in August, 2014. We chose this unit without knowing too much about Princeville or the North Shore. However, we were so happy when we landed. Princeville, while lacking in charm/character, is beautiful and quite close to Hanalei which we spent a lot of time in. There are also beautiful beaches close by which are a bit more secluded compared to the tourist packed ones. There were lots of conveniences close by so that was handy too. The unit itself was actually nicer and larger than we thought it was going to be. The lanai was really big too. And like others have said the bed was sooo comfortable. We met Christine briefly during our check-in which was actually a chance encounter as she had mistakenly let another couple into our unit thinking it was us! This was resolved quickly and without issue, but had we arrived later that evening it might have been a problem, as she had emailed us a new code for the lock box and not having a travel plan on my phone I did not get the new code before arriving. We could have arrived late at night, with no access to the lock box and someone else in our unit! Alas, that did not happen. The phone was not working while we were there which was an inconvenience for us in trying to confirm some things locally. I emailed Christine to inform her, she said she would look into it but we never heard back, nor did it get fixed during our stay. Also, a family moved into the until next door during a couple evenings of our stay, who chose to watch movies loudly with all their doors open. It was essentially like being in a movie theater in our room. This combined with the sounds from other families/people in the units, makes for a bit of a noisy stay, albeit not all the time. The one thing we were wishing for though was air conditioning. We knew the unit did not have any going in, but it was soooo hot. The fan did nothing to cool things down, so really we did not spend too much time in the room other than to sleep, when it did cool down a bit. Although we weren't 100% satisfied, for the price per night, this unit was overall a good deal. We couldn't find anything even close to this price for the space/location. Think about the importance of quiet and coolness before you book, and if they are not must-haves for you, I would say this will be a great space!

  • Reviewer: Shannon

Comments: Very nice property, especially the pool and hot tub. The suite was great, and very comfortable. The bed and linens were luxurious. The lanai was spacious and nice to sit on. The bar fridge and toaster oven also convenient.

  • Reviewer: Maurice

Comments: Very nice and clean studio. We had a great time! The equipments are top notch. Definitely recommended :)

  • Reviewer: Megan

Comments: The studio was very clean and comfortable. The Sandlpiper condos were in a nice neighborhood and close to Hanalei. I'd stay there again.

  • Reviewer: Lolly

Comments: We loved how easy it was to check in. With the key lock box we could show up on our schedule and not have to worry about coordinating meeting times. Everything we needed was provided including a cooler and beach chairs which were incredibly useful! The location was ideal for us. Being north shore lovers we were able to easily go to all our favorite spots while bing close to the local grocery store and some very good restaurants in the Princeville area. We would stay here again without a doubt and would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a great location on north shore!

  • Reviewer: Rachel And Tovi

Comments: Catherine's studio apartment was central, modern, and ample for two people. Although Catherine's communication was good leading up to our trip, our stay got off to a rocky start when we tried unsuccessfully to access the lock box on the front door with the code she had provided. Initially unable to reach Catherine by phone or text, we stood outside the complex with growing concern, but she eventually returned our call and provided us with the appropriate code. Once inside, we could not find the 'local phone' that was advertised in the condo description, but all of the other amenities were as described. The bed was quite comfortable, although the top sheet smelled as if it had not been cleaned recently. The walls were also very thin, so we could hear conversations and television programs from our neighbouring units. Overall, Catherine's studio apartment in Princeville was a reasonably priced and decent place to stay for a couple of nights. With so much beauty in the nearby north shore of Kauai, these minor issues did not affect the enjoyment inherent in our overall trip.

  • Reviewer: Mishka

Comments: Great place. A 5 minute drive from the nearest stores or bars but Princeville is pretty small. The room was not too equipped for long stays (no oven, dish soap etc) but was good for a short weekend

  • Reviewer: Courtney

Comments: The neighborhood was great! It seemed like everyone had vacation rental. Airbnb didn't give us the instructions to get the keys to the room, but we called Catherine and she was able to text us. We didn't realize that check-in wasn't until 3pm, not any earlier. Important to note that!

  • Reviewer: Byron

Comments: Description was accurate. It's a very good deal. Bed was comfortable and you get a lot of "condo" for the price, including access to a hot tub and swimming pool. Place was clean upon arrival. I'd definitely recommend Catherine's place for those looking to stay on the Northshore.

  • Reviewer: Tami

Comments: Perfect location! The studio is clean, new and delicious! I truly recommend! Aloha!!!

  • Reviewer: Savannah

Comments: This place was great for an on the go couple ready to adventure the north side of Kauai!

  • Reviewer: Atanas

Comments: We had a really excellent stay at Catherine's studio. It was very quiet, clean, and beautiful. We would definitely consider it again if we come back to Kauai.

  • Reviewer: Ty

Comments: Catherine opened her door to a great studio for us. The studio is in a great area and has very easy to access many beautiful parts of the island. If you do come in at night the parking can be tough and finding the turn off the main road was difficult in the dark. Plan of (Hidden by Airbnb) maps from the airport. The pool and spa area is a nice touch and is in such close walking distance from the studio. We really loved everything about this. Bed is very comfortable and the studio was a great home base for the many adventures Kaua'i has to offer! Great stay for a great price!

  • Reviewer: Greg

Comments: Great place!! The studio was modern and clean- perfect for a base on the north shore.

  • Reviewer: Kristiana

Comments: We had a very enjoyable stay here. The studio was very welcoming and clean. It was very nice that beach/pool towels, dishes, shampoo, etc were provided. We had no issues and it was a very pleasant stay! Thank you!

  • Reviewer: David

Comments: Catherine's place was conveniently located in Princeville (a really great part of Kauai). The place suited us well for four days, with a nice size and clean studio. The bed is comfortable. There are a few kitchen materials; however, these aren't enough for any real cooking.

  • Reviewer: Pavlo

Comments: We spent a good time in this studio . The place was very nice , newly remodeled and beautifully staged . The host provided all necessities . Large covered balcony worked great for having breakfasts . I wish we had more time to use great community pool .

  • Reviewer: Adrienne

Comments: Although we did not get a chance to meet Catherine, she ensured that our stay was comfortable, enjoyable, and hassle-free. The bed was super comfortable. The apartment was well-equipped, with extras such as dishes, beach towels, a cooler, and beach chairs that made our stay all the more pleasurable. The suite is also situated in a very nice area of Kauai. The drive to the west coast is about two hours so we only visited that area of the island once during our five-day stay, but the north, east, and south shores gave us plenty to see and do. The only downside is that because there are no sealed windows (some of the window are screens with blinds over them), you do hear the roosters crowing quite early in the morning.

  • Reviewer: Bill

Comments: Catherine's place was just as described. Very neat and clean. Pool and spa were great, overall the complex was well maintained. Great value!

  • Reviewer: Seth

Comments: Very nice place. Great location for the north shore. Close to the Queen's bath which was amazing!

  • Reviewer: Rolf

Comments: This place is GREAT! The host is excellent, and the location is pretty alright. The two things I would like to have known before getting in, there's no freezer (we had to purchase ice for our cooler), and no Air Conditioning (when we were there, the fans were plenty to keep the room at a nice temperature). Neither of these are deal breakers, though. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Reviewer: Lars

Comments: Fine, little studio with basic amenities to make breakfast. Nice to get beach towels, chairs and a cooler. The area is a resort, so not much personality or cozyness here, but it has a supermarket nearby and is conveniently placed to explore the North Shore. Bring earplugs as the neighbors (and their tv) can be heard easily. We never met Catherine, but our communication was good. Sounded nice with the pool, but we sadly did not have time to try it out during our three days in the studio. Breakfast on the balcony, however, did we do every morning. No vistas at this price range, but it was nice to sit outside.

  • Reviewer: Jitterbug

Comments: Wonderful location, beautiful room, all of the necessities are there including beach chairs and a small cooler. Parking can be a problem at night sometimes though, but we were able to work around this easily.

  • Reviewer: Robin

Comments: We loved our stay here! The location, amenities, and price were exactly what we were looking for while on vacation in Princeville. The studio was so clean and comfortable. It was also great having access to the hot tub and pool. We would definitely recommend this space as well as look to book it again for a return visit to Kauai. Mahalo! :)

  • Reviewer: Rachel

Comments: Great stay! Well kept place. Good location. Very comfortable!

  • Reviewer: Erin

Comments: My boyfriend and I rented this space for two nights, we absolutely loved our stay in Princeville! The place was perfect for the two of us and was equipped with everything we needed. The first day was rainy, so we enjoyed time in the hot tub, making friends with the neighbors. There is even a great grill that we used to make some delicious Opah on the second night. Everything was perfect, thank you!!

  • Reviewer: Brittany

Comments: Nice studio at a bargain price and close to everything on the north shore. The place was clean and convenient, check in/check out was very easy. Parking wasn't a problem, and the pool was clean. Only issues were that the microwave rotating plate did not fit the model (but I only used the microwave for heating water), and the keurig machine was broken when I arrived. Overall, a relaxing stay in a nice place at a great value. Be aware that there is no freezer and no air conditioning though.

  • Reviewer: Vladi

Comments: I've never met Catherine in person, but had no problem checking in and out by following the directions she provided. The place is what you see on the pictures, no surprises. I initially liked the look of furniture and the price (not a fan of Hawaiian style when it comes to furnishings). I was not disappointed, it's a tasteful little studio. The bed is very comfortable. Everything worked out great. I would definitely stay there again and I highly recommend you do too.

  • Reviewer: Matt

Comments: Perfect location, close to everything. Comfortable studio, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The lanai was great to enjoy a night cap. We were comfortable with the windows open and ceiling fan. We would definitely come back!

  • Reviewer: Megan

Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Catherine's studio. It was a perfect home base for the 4 days we wanted to explore the north shore of Kauai. It had everything to make sandwiches to bring with us on our adventures and a small refrigerator to store some snacks. The bed was comfortable. We arrived at night and it was a little confusing but we were able to find our way. Overall we would stay here again, it was lovely.

  • Reviewer: Winter

Comments: ok stay, place wasn't anything spectacular but fine for price. walls are very thin, there was a rowdy group next door and we could hear all conversations as if in the same room. parking was difficult in evenings after sunset, there are a limited number of free spaces while the rest are reserved and we got a ticket from parking on street.

  • Reviewer: Michelle

Comments: We loved our stay in Kauai this past Memorial Day week. My husband and I stayed in Princeville for the first time. Pros: The apt was very cute and met our needs. The bed was SUPER comfortable and the apt was clean, tidy and functional. There were two beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels available to use! The pool and hot tub are located VERY close to the apt. Blue-Ray disc player allowed for a fun movie night! Cons: LOUD next door neighbors. We could hear their TV through the walls. LOUD (Website hidden by Airbnb) 5:30am every day. (Note: bring earplugs) Washing dishes in a bathroom sink is hard to do (only sink in the apt). Curtains are inadequate for windows...light pours through at 6am (Note: bring sleep eyewear). Of course, the roosters had already woken us up by that time :) All in all, decent place to stay for the price! We will certainly be back.

  • Reviewer: Julia

Comments: Place has no AC and host has bad attitude. Host failed to mention in the description of the listing that there was no AC in the unit. When we arrived to the place and saw there was no AC I called the host. She said that she "did not mention in the listing that the place has AC." Well... she did not mention otherwise either and when I go to a tropical island where the temperature is 85F with extremely high humidity I do expect the AC. Instead of trying to work it out the host said "why don't you just check out right now?" I could not believe my ears! I just flew for 11 hours and that was the welcoming I got! We ended up staying (3 nights) and then moved to Lihue (South of the island). It was impossible to stay inside the place during the day - place would get so hot! We did not like the area either, if you really have to go to the North of the island I would suggest to go in Hanalei area.

  • Reviewer: Katherine

Comments: Great spot in Princeville! Comfortable bed, easy access to the North Shore from Princeville. Will definitely stay here again, Catherine was super quick to accept our same day reservation.

  • Reviewer: Peter

Comments: The studio is clean, comfortable, and cozy, and only a short drive from Hanalei Bay, Queen's Beach, and other North Shore attractions. There is no A/C and no real kitchen (there is a fridge, microwave, and toaster oven), but this was not a problem for us as we spent the afternoons on the beach or eating at several of the great restaurants in the area.

  • Reviewer: Joelle

Comments: It was a really nice studio. There is enough space for two. We did also enjoy the terasse. The only thing we could complain about, was the fan. It didn't work that strong, so it got really hot in the studio. We did enjoy our stay very much though! Thank you Catherine!!

  • Reviewer: Hannah

Comments: Exactly as described, matched my expectations and equal value to its cost! Kitchen amenities were just enough to be able to make ourselves simple breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Access to the pool was great too! My only complaint would be that the fan could only move at an awfully slow speed, making it more tortuous to watch than functional. However, the breeze from the balcony door made sleeping easy with little discomfort. Also, the Princeville area is lovely, so glad we were in walking distance to the Queen's Bath since there was such limited parking over there!

  • Reviewer: Will

Comments: Room was as described, easy to access with plenty of parking. This was a great staging ground for our Kauai adventures. Would recommend.

  • Reviewer: Jenniemai

Comments: The Studio was perfect for me and my husband. Nicely decorated space and very clean. The ceiling fan stopped working, I called Catherine and it was fixed by the time we got back to our room. Our neighbors were noisy, but overall was a nice place to stay

  • Reviewer: Monique

Comments: Very comfortable studio, but very hot despite the fan. Directions to get there were very clear. Thank you!

  • Reviewer: Marco

Comments: Great little studio if you plan to be out and about while you're in Kauai. It was very well kept and comfortable with a nice balcony to get fresh air. The only drawback is the lack of AC so check the weather forecast for your visit- it wasn't an issue for our stay at the end of August. The location is perfect- close to Queen's Bath, St. Regis hotel (great for happy hour) and hikes/beaches on the Na Pali Coast.

  • Reviewer: Scott

Comments: Catherine's studio was the perfect budget spot for our vacation. Cozy, comfortable, nice patio, it definitely met our needs. Perfect location in Priceville, close to the north shore (where you want to be), very close to Hanalei (food, shops, kayaking, everything). Beaches within a 5 minute drive (Hideaways, Queen's Bath, Sealodge Beach). Only knock is that it was unseasonably hot in Kauai (a little over 90) during our visit. Way uncomfortable hot really. The fan helped a little, but still, it was too hot to sleep most nights. Most places here don't have A/C, so we didn't anticipate having it, but you might want to pick up an extra fan if it's super hot when you visit (not common). Nice amenities, like beach towels, MP3 clock for music, beach chairs, a little cooler for your use. We spent 11 nights and found parking in the complex 10 of them. Great pool, hot tub, and BBQ area. Grocery store within a 5 minute drive (albeit an expensive one). This is a great unit if you're on a budget, and not too particular. A few little awkward things like washing dishes in the bathroom sink, but so minor compared to the splendor of the area. Be aware that you're in a beautiful humid area, so you might find a cockroach or gecko running around inside. It really isn't a big deal. Let it back out. But I know that bothers some people (hotels have them too). Highly recommended!

Comments: When we arrived in the late evening, the appartement wasn't cleaned by the responsible company. After informing Catherine, she managed it very quickly. The bed was pretty comfortable, the "kitchen" was minimal, but everything useful was there.

  • Reviewer: Julien

Comments: Very good apartment. Well equipped, clean, balcony, swimming pool, well located,... I recommended you Catherine's apartment

Comments: We had a wonderful time staying here. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. I really loved the personal touches such as the beach towels, chairs, and cooler. There is a lovely balcony where you can enjoy a cup of coffee. The mattress was very easy to sleep on as well. Great location too! Will definitely be staying here again for our future Kauai visits.

  • Reviewer: Nicolle

Comments: Couldn't have asked for more with this place! The place was in such a nice location, clean and so big for a studio. The ease of checking in and out is a dream, it feels like your own apartment as there is no shared space.

Comments: I was a very last minute booking, and Catherine was quick to respond and finalize the booking. The studio is spacious, well equipped and located in the heart of Princeville. I was pleasantly surprised and will return again. This is a great value in a vacation rental Mecca. Mahalo Catherine!

We can use a good swimming pool and spa and from this place is possible to go walking to Anini Beach and Hanaley Beach Park. It is possible to cross the river from this beach to Hanaley Bay too! It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the northshore of Kauai! Everything was perfect!

Comments: We stayed for 2 nights. Great location in a quiet district with small holiday condos close to shopping and famous Hanalei beach town. The apartment itself is very cozy and clean. It lacks a kitchen, but that's not really negative, because you are provided with a fridge and small oven on the balcony and microwave in the bedroom. Overall, we were very happy with our accomodation.

Comments: This space was very cozy and well-equipped, just as implied in the description. A few things to note: 1) The beach is a ten minute drive. Do not stay here if you want to walk to the beach. 2) If you prefer to chat on the balcony after 10pm, be prepared for a resident to yell at you to keep quiet. 3) The shower pressure is VERY WEAK. Other than that, we loved this space.

Comments: We had a terrific stay at Catherine's property. Extremely comfortable and well supplied. Excellent communication throughout the stay and easy check in/out. Great location for the Na Pali coast and Hanalei restaurants. The St Regis is a mile walk and has a wonderful sushi offering at the lobby bar. We highly recommend Catherine's place.

Comments: The studio was perfect - I was staying by myself, but there was plenty of room for clothes, a breakfast table and a convenient bathroom (along with microwave, fridge and screened in porch). Catherine described it perfectly, and it was very clean and usable. I would definitely stay there again if I am back in the area.

Comments: Catherine's studio was easy to find, very clean, well stocked and the bed was super comfortable! We would highly recommend her place to anyone interested in traveling to Kauai!

Comments: The place was in a good location with a nice patio. We enjoyed our stay in Princeville as it's close to some nice snorkeling beaches and the Na pali coast hike. There is a keurig that had a couple pods for use and basic dishes, microwave, nice toaster and small frig. Recommend to check out the St. Regis bar for sunset that is right down the way.

Comments: The location was GREAT! The units were very close together, it felt like a shared space and unfortunately the walls were very thin. The little children in the other unit were being children and playing, however, it was too loud for me. The pictures of the studio apt are accurate, it was a nice room. I was looking for more of peaceful atmosphere, I did not make an issue of it, I paid for my nights, but chose to stay elsewhere. If you need a place to stay, I'd recommend it. Thank you Catherine.

Comments: Catherine was a great host though we didn't see her. The apartment was a great location and everything was easily accessible.

  • Reviewer: Kathryn

Comments: Catherine's place is in a nice area and the property feels like an apartment complex. The space is fine if you're planning to spend most of your time out. Note that there is no AC (not uncommon in the islands) so you'll have the windows open much of the time. This is usually really nice but the trash bins and other units are close by so you'll hear most conversations and anyone who visits the dumpster. There was also some construction going on while we visited that was loud at times.

Comments: This was a great, easy, and affordable option in the ritzy Princeville area. The community and grounds are pristine and clean. The host was very kind and gave very thorough instructions and directions to the unit. The unit was clean, spacious, and modern. It is perfect amount of space for 1-2 people. It comes equipped with a fridge, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, utensils, plates, etc. To be honest, we didn't linger or hang out much in the unit since there is simply too much to do and see in Kauai, so the unit was perfect to rest your head. The bed was SO COMFORTABLE. I slept like a log every night. I was concerned about the directions to the unit, since another reviewer wrote their GPS didn't work and it was dark out. My phone's GPS worked fine, but I printed directions just to be safe. The street signs in Kauai are hard to see as they are usually several feet before the actual street, so I relied heavily on the GPS for the first day or two until I got my bearings. So, bring a car charger if you plan to rent a car and print directions just to make sure you can get there. The location was ideal too--it was situated in the middle of the North Shore and about 15 minutes to Kilauea, and 30 minutes to Kapaa. As a bonus, the residence is only 1 mile from the Queens Bath, which is absolutely worth the venture. You could walk there since parking is rough, and you have to hike downhill about 0.6 miles to the actual bath. I had no issues or complaints and would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Comments: Catherine's place was a perfect spot for a getaway on Kauai. It's nestled in a beautiful part of Princeville right near the golf course and the Westin right down the street, it's even within walking distance to a secluded beach if you can find it! My fiancé and I had a great time enjoying the tropical feeling on the outdoor porch and being within driving distance of some of the greatest hikes and snorkeling spots on this planet was amazing. Could not have asked for a better location for on the north part of Kauai. Thanks again!

  • Reviewer: Brooke

Comments: I was super happy with the apartment/condo. It was extremely clean, had everything I needed to make small meals (small fridge, plates, silverware, microwave, etc.). The outside porch area was also very nice to relax on and also to leave the door open to let the breeze in. Catherine was very responsive, helpful, and kind in making my stay as easy as possible. Thank you!

Comments: We had a great time on Kauai! The studio was clean, comfy and offered everything we needed. The location was perfect for exploring the island. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay at Catherine's place. Thanks a lot!

Comments: We had a great visit here. As Catherine mentions in her listing, this condo was an investment for their kids for the future so it seems to be not lived in, but more so treated like a hotel. Which was great! Princeville is a nice spot to have as a home base. We did not try out the pool, but loved the bed. I highly recommend brunch at St. Regis, a trek to the Queen's Bath (keep your car parked at Catherine's lot - little parking by the baths) and dinner at Tahiti Nut. Hanalei is nearby and simply gorgeous.

Comments: Easy directions to find unit. Was located within short walk of golf course and shopping center, a few eateries and coffee /bakery shop. Luxury bedding and comfort plus. A couple of fans are handy in the humidity. Back porch had small frig and toaster oven. Unit has microwave. Pool use for guests, key provided. Hot tub was out of service during our stay. The unit connects to a larger compound of condos. Tenants and short term guests are very near one another. Shares a front porch and wall with other unit. This is not a good location for privacy. However, served our needs and why we visited Kauai.

Comments: The studio was in a great location, close to St.Regis and Hanalei Bay, although not walking distance. Upon arrival to the studio we though it was a bit dingy but I think it was the brown curtains and old brown breadspread that made it seem that way. The pictures of the studio were the same except for the furnishings. The ammenities were great: use of the pool and beach items to use. There were dishes and a coffee maker with all of the furnishings. The bathroom was clean and shower was nice. The studio was definitely great for the price! Thanks Catherine!

Comments: Easy late check-in and the unit is as described. Great location... close to food, shops, gas, the beach, etc. Pool and hot tub were wonderful and the hot tub was working during our stay. The noise level was almost unbearable due to thin walls and the construction workers remodeling the condo across from this unit. If you are looking for a private, quiet, and peaceful location, book a different spot. If you can handle some noise and are a deep sleeper who wants convenience and to check out the North shore, book this spot!

Comments: Catherine's Studio was an affordable, comfortable, and clean experience! The location was perfect for commuting purposes and surrounded by beauty. Within walking distance to Queen's Bath! The only surprise for me about this studio upon arrival is that it didn't have a kitchenette, which was an issue as My friend and I planned to make meals here. Fortunately we were able to get a little creative with the complementary Keurig (an awesome bonus!) to make meals with the hot water. The studio does have a microwave, a small oven, fridge, plates, and utensils - which was very useful. Overall, a great experience and will definitely book with Catherine again on my next adventure in Kauai!

  • Reviewer: Emily

Comments: Convenient location, clean and relatively quiet. The unit is near the recycling and trash bins so it can get noisy when people take out their trash and bottles but not a big deal. Close to everything on the north shore.

Comments: I loved my stay at Cathrines place. It was very clean, great linens, filled with everything you need for the beach and close to everything. I travel to Princeville once a year and this truly was a gem. It was quiet and easy. Bed extremely comfortable. Cathrine got back to me in a reasonable time frame, but was all business. A bit to impersonal for my taste, but she was good about communication. The place is exactly as described, I would say even better. No complaints other than the vent for the dryer at the next door unit blows directly onto the lani. So sitting on the lani I got hit with the heat when the dryer was on. Outside of that the place was perfect. Thank you Cathrine, I truly enjoyed your place and look forward to coming back again next year.

Comments: Beautiful place to stay, pool is great, room is very clean. Good location in princeville. Beach chairs and towels are provided. There's also a fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a small grill/toaster which were all very useful. Catherine was great with communication.

Comments: Awesome neighborhood! Very close to the princeville village to get all the items you might need. Tons of beaches & trails near here & walking distance from queens bath! Not as many roosters up here so no worries on having them wake you up each morning! Cooler, beach chairs, and beach towels were provided with the room so that was a big plus! Thanks for the stay, we loved it here! Mahalo!!

Comments: The listing was accurate, clean, and comfortable. The room had modern amenities and is comparable to many hotel chains. The bed was extra comfortable and the breeze that moved through the room was soothing. The neighborhood is fancy, well landscaped, and close to the "Queens Bath", several other beaches, and a local market. We spent most of each day exploring the island, so the room was a great place to relax after each day. We never met the host; there was a coded lock box with a key waiting for us upon arrival.

  • Reviewer: Evan

Comments: Everything was as described and the listing is fairly well priced. There is no air conditioning, which may be an issue for some, but the room definitely cooled off at night. Our host was responsive to our messages and we had a great time in the area!

Comments: Clean space, comfortable bed, convenient location. Good value for a basic studio. We couldn't figure out how to turn on one of the lights, and Catherine was easy to reach. • Reviewer: Nathan

Comments: We unfortunately had to only stay one night out of our two initially planned nights because of noise issues with the adjoining unit (not noted as joined by a shared interior door in the listing). Catherine gave us a partial refund, but the stay ended up being quite expensive as the cleaning fee and Airbnb fee were not adjusted. We also noted some concerns with cleanliness and condition that should be addressed and make this unit less appealing than other available Airbnb listings. Problem areas: Beach chairs rusty and completely covered in sand upon arrival. Dining seat cushions stained and discolored. The ceiling fan makes an irregular metallic clicking sound that is loud enough to be disruptive to sleep, but given the lack of air conditioning needs to be used to make the space comfortable. The blinds don't go down sufficiently to block the front windows and the curtains aren't sufficiently wide to cover the patio door. SHARED INTERIOR DOOR with the adjoining unit is a huge noise/privacy problem. We found several cockroaches in the apartment (likely due to close proximity to the dumpsters). The area surrounding the shower is badly in need of cleaning -- very dusty and grimy. Crusty stain (semen?) on the duvet cover. -Even small things like the laminated sheet with directions needed a wipe down or just replacement (outdated info, just print a new one). The good: Comfortable bed. Location. Ease of check-in. I'm not sure what the $62 cleaning fee is going toward, but it doesn't appear to be particularly effectively spent. I'm appreciative of the partial refund for the canceled portion of our stay, but I am somewhat incensed that our one night ended up being so expensive -- and in fact, our most expensive night of our vacation, when it fell so short of even basic levels of cleanliness, privacy and comfort. I'm still dissatisfied with amount of refund we received and believe more effort should have been made to make things right, including at least a partial refund of the cleaning fee given the lack of cleanliness when we arrived. There needs to be some attention paid to this apparently neglected unit. It has potential to be a good listing again, but it's not there now.

Comments: The room was exactly as described in the listing. It is a nice small space that fit our needs while we were visiting the island. Comments: Here's what you need to know about this rental. The bed is super comfortable and the shower is really nice. There aren't many chickens because it is in a very upscale area. The density is pretty high but there wasn't too much noise from neighbors. One night there was no parking available. It is a very simple space and the cleaning fee seems pretty high. We didn't hear from Catherine during our stay, but didn't need to.

Comments: Catherine's place is exactly as described. It is a small studio, without an actual kitchen, but she has everything you need, minus an oven!, to make your stay easy. The bed was comfortable, there is a small fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker and tea kettle and I believe there is a microwave. She also supplies a small cooler, beach chairs, towels and mats! Great to have someone supply those kinds of things when you are traveling. The condo complex was quiet (we didn't hear ANY roosters while we were there!) and there is a great walking path very near. Great value for the location!

Catherine was very helpful guiding us to the correct parking lot when our phone navigation got confused. We met her cleaning lady and she was also very nice. We were given a pool key but never used it, there were too many beaches to explore. There was a grocery store nearby as well. We enjoyed our stay.

Comments: The place was nice with all the basic needs for one or two people. The only thing I would suggest is additional curtains over the Lani sliding door. Those that are on the door do not completely provide enough privacy. This room is very close to the pool and hot tub although we didn't get use them due to our lack of time.

Comments: Our stay here was pleasant. It was clean, well-described and the shower was a dream. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the coffee left for us. Only negative comment is that it was difficult to rest as we are accustomed to, due to the constant noise outside. The area is residential and there are always children playing outside. Since we don't have kids ourselves, it is not something we are used to. However if you have children this is a great place for your kids to play with other children.

Comments: The description of the unit itself was accurate, however I had 2 issues with this stay, one major one and one minor one. The major issue was that the unit has no allocated parking spot. If the property isn't full, this likely isn't an issue. During my stay the property was very full, and since the unit doesn't have a reserved parking spot, one must utilize a visitor parking space. There are only so many visitor parking spots, and once they fill up folks can make up a few more spots under trees, on the grass, or around medians, but even those vanish after a while. After that, I don't know where one could park without worrying about being towed. As such, I felt like I had a curfew during the say and was constantly nervous when out at night that no spot would be available when I got back to the property. The minor problem was related; the wireless Internet in the unit was VERY slow. Much too slow to stream anything, so since I was stuck in the unit fairly early at night, it got a little boring.

Comments: This studio apt. is comfortable. The queen bed is excellent. The nearby pool and hot tub are great. The location is in a residential area with any services a half mile or more away. Unless I'm unaware, there are no self serve laundry facilities closer than Kapa'a, about 25 miles away. Kauai is such a beautiful place that the lack of some conveniences doesn't spoil the overall charm of time spent here. Enjoy!

  • Reviewer: Kelly

Comments: Overall, our stay at Catherine's place was great. Check in was easy and the place is very centrally located, just a quick drive to a lot of shopping and restaurants. We used the place more as a location to sleep and shower, and were out exploring most of the days, and for that type of schedule, this was perfect. I am not sure if it would be suitable if you are planning to spend a lot of time in the room. The only big issue we had, as others noted, was that parking was very difficult to find at night. Both nights of our stay we came back (around 8 or 9) to find that all the unmarked spots were taken and ended up driving back and forth between the two parking lots for 20 minutes waiting for someone to leave. One of the nights we ended up parking on the grass because nothing opened up. A very frustrating way to end the day, especially when parking is a listed amenity. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

  • Reviewer: Johanna

Comments: The space was clean and as described. The parking is in guest spaces and thankfully there were not that many people in parking spaces so we had no problems. The area is in a complex with many families and the walls are very thin, so we were woken up every morning by screaming kids, which is by no fault of the owner! Otherwise we had a great stay.

Comments: Studio is exactly as described. It is well located in Princeville - a very short drive / walk to one of the best beaches on Kauai via the St Regis. We found the north more beautiful than the south, and fully explored the island from this location. The host provides some excellent wooden beach mats (or chairs). Bathroom amenities are provided and the bed is comfortable. The host is also great at communication if you have any issues or questions. There is a nice balcony where the mini-fridge is located to enjoy an evening meal. The place is lovely and great for couples. As others have stated - there is no AC. The 2 fans suited us just fine. You may have to search for parking if you arrive home after 9:30 pm, but we found parking in the lot every night.

Comments: The room is perfect for us and come as expected. Location is amazing in princeville which puts you very close to Queens Bath and St. Regis for a nice sunset drink every night. But also still give you easy accessibility into Hanalei (less than 10 min drive) for good eats and necessities. Given how expensive it is to stay in the north shore, the studio is really a gem for a no frill clean and practical stay! Also, we didn't get to use it, there is a community pool and jacuzzi too!!

Comments: Catherine's place is nice. Its location is great and it's clean and comfortable. We didn't have a problem not having A/C but we were there in October and it wasn't that hot. The bed is super comfortable and the lanai is great for hanging out (a sofa here would be a huge plus!). We could do surprisingly much with only a toaster oven but a few more utensils would make life easier when cooking in such a limited space. The bathroom sink is also where you do the dishes but that wasn't really a problem. The one thing is that it's quite noisy. We could hear the next door neighbors as if they were in the room with us and even people who were farther still seemed as if they were in the next room. This did make it difficult for us to sleep and it even woke us up in the middle of the night; if you're a heavy-sleeper you'll be fine, if not, bring earplugs! Overall we enjoyed our stay, Kauai is small enough that you get to the farthest point in ~2 hours but the Northshore is beautiful and full of things to do!

The price was right. The location was perfect. I was visiting my son staying in Hanalei so I only spent the evenings in the studio decompressing comfortably. The space was great for just me. Complementary amenities like beach chairs and towels, refrigerator, coffee maker and dish ware added to my comfort. It rained a great deal and was cool one evening. An extra blanket on the bed was helpful.

Comments: The Princeville studio was nice, as expected - clean, really comfortable bed, great wi-fi (I needed to do some work), wonderful location as a jumping-off point to do North Shore exploring. I appreciated the toaster oven one late night, when I wanted to reheat some manapua from Foodland. Check-in was a breeze, everything as outlined in Catherine's pre-check-in communications. I arrived when it was island-chilly (lows in the 50s) and was surprised that the unit's louver windows didn't close. There were plenty of blankets in the closet to stay cozy, though, and the rain made for quite a lullaby. The studio is in a condo complex, and parking could be a little ... competitive ... at times, but I always found a spot eventually. It's not the most cliché Hawaiian vacation place to stay - not jungley, covered in tropical prints, etc. But the price was right, and it was an awesome place to find peace at the end of adventurous days. Mahalo nui, Catherine!

Comments: A lovely place up in Princeville. It was windy the whole week we were on Kauai but this was a nice, quiet place to relax. Bed was a little soft for us but it was quiet, well equipped and a great place to settle into for a stay on the North Shore!

Comments: Check in was easy despite my very late arrival. Nice amenities, clean and having a balcony was an added bonus. The location is wonderful , close to many hikes (which is why I came to Kauai.) This was my first Airbnb experience and I am not disappointed.

Comments: It is a great location near the shopping center. We had an issue with the Keurig provided malfunctioning and she replaced it with a working one quickly. We also appreciated that she had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, extra sunscreen, and aloe available. We had no real issues or complaints! Mahalo!

Comments: Fantastic location and Catherine makes check-in and check-out so easy so it makes more time for vacation. The flat and amenities were more than we expected. Great valie.

Comments: The location of the studio is beautiful, but there are many things Catherine needs to improve. Her home needs more towels, toilet papers, fixing the toilet, the blowdryer looked very used and unsafe, and the studio was extremely dark, needs more light. Also, she should text to the people who rent their home at least once while they are there and ask if they need anything or just being kind. She should be curious if everything is all right with them and they feel good there.

Comments: I had a great week in Princeville, the room is very nice and clean and you find everything you need. The place is not far away from a supermarket and some shops but to see all the island you definitely need a car. The communication with Catherine was good, got answers always very fast. Thank you for everything!

Comments: Had a fantastic stay. Neat and tidy, and in a well kept neighbourhood. Quick 2 minute drive to local shops to grab food, necessities and souvenir. Access to a private pool was great for those lazy afternoons.

Comments: We had a nice stay at Catherine's place. Though we never met Catherine, she was very responsive in email. Check-in was super easy as well. Everything was as described in the listing. Location was good, a very short drive to everything in the Princeville/Hanalei, which make it convenient to get out and explore the area. Without AC the room did get a little warm during the heat of the day, but there is a room fan and ceiling fan to help with that. It was very comfortable at night which is obviously most important. Overall, we had a nice stay, it was just what we expected, and we would come back again.

Comments: Catherine's studio is in a great location in Princeville, close to tons of beaches, Hanalei Bay, numerous food/drink options nearby. She provides snorkel equipment, beach towels, beach chairs, so convenient. We also appreciated her consistently prompt responses when communicating. Studio was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Definitely would stay again whenever vacationing on the north shore.

Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Catherine’s place. Princeville is a nice area very close to Hanalei and a grocery store, and the apartment had all the amenities we needed. We felt like we had limited on privacy as the blinds were broken on one window and the curtains on the door to the porch did not cover the windows completely, but those would be easy fixes. Other than that, we had a great stay and loved the apartment!

Comments: Last minute plans actually prevented us from staying a night in Catherine’s place. Though we did go into the unit, and everything was as advertised. The place was clean, has a good sized patio/lanai, and the location is in a perfect Princeville resort spot. Short (10-15 min) drive to Hanalei Bay. And even shorter to the foodland area - there’s a gas station/general store there with the best (and cheap) breakfast burritos, which we ate every morning :)

Comments: Catherine's place is great (and so is Kauai). The room was comparable to other places on the island, no stove / full kitchen, but a mini fridge, water boiler, microwave and microwave oven. There's no AC (many places don't have AC on the island) but sleeping at night, even in the summer, was just fine with a fan and ceiling fan. It gets below 70 most nights on the island. The room was private and quiet, with ample parking. The pool and hot tub were very nice and never crowded. Catherine's place is also less than a thirty minute walk from queen's bath (highly recommended!), which is convenient since you have to drive everywhere in Kauai, and there's usually a 45+ minute, cutthroat, car line waiting to park in one of the few spots at queen's bath. It's also close to kayaking, snorkeling, cozy beach towns, some amazing beaches, and an airport that does helicopter tours. It's also less than an hour drive to Wailua, where there's many scenic things to see. Be aware that in 2018, until at least (estimated) September, basically anything west of Hanalei Bay is closed except to locals only due to the historic flood damage that has affected much of the island. The whole island is still open for tourism (trust me, you should still go), and there's still plenty to do on the north shore alone, but some beaches and hiking (like the Kalalau Trail) are not accessible. Also as there is no road going through the middle of Kauai. If you want to do hiking around Waimea Canyon, it's about a 2 hour drive from Princeville, which means you should be ok with getting an early start to your hiking day!

Comments: Great Location, easy to find parking. Catherine was very professional and responsive to my inquiries. It was nice to have access to the pool and Jacuzzi, which I didn’t take advantage of because the ocean was too inviting! The studio offers basic amenities, clean linen, large beach towels and snorkel sets that can save you money from renting them (but I always haul my own, so I can’t speak to how good the sets were) handy beach chairs which I also should’ve taken advantage of but I never sat down, there’s too much to enjoy in Kauai than stay seated! WiFi sort of slow if you’re attempting to do research on activities or send photos to make your family and friends jealous of your amazing vacation ;-)

Comments: Our stay here was amazing! We were here for two night and we had what we needed. Enough space for our belongings, a comfortable bed to sleep on, a warm shower, fridge, microwave, small oven, patio to air dry clothes, and a fan for the hot nights. It’s located in a very pretty area if you want to explore Princeville and the towns nearby. There are many shops and places to eat minutes away, but plan accordingly because they close early. There was also some beach equipment in the closet, like snorkel gear, beach chairs, and beach towels in case you needed it. The place was very clean and check in and out was made easy with all instructions easy to follow. Thank you for letting us stay in your home and we hope to be back soon!

Comments: I had a wonderful time at Catherine’s place. This unit is in a great location, is clean, comfy, and had everything my boyfriend and I wanted to snorkel, go to the beach, keep and prepare food, and relax. I especially appreciated her quick tech support when there was an internet issue. Highly recommend! It was fabulous.

Comments: Catherine’s place was simply lovely! Very clean, great location, had all basic amenities you expect. It also has a beautiful terrace. Very nice to hang out there after a hot sunny day at the beach. The pool area is also great - very quiet tho. I will definitely stay here again if I will return to Kauai. Mahalo, Catherine!

Mahalo Catherine

Comments: The good: It’s in the middle of Princeville, easy access to where you need to go. Bed was super comfy, large nice shower. The bad: Curtain on sliding door was not big enough to cover the window so there were privacy issues, had to prop chair against screen to keep it closed so mosquitoes would not get in, had to wash dishes in the small bathroom sink, deck chairs were broken so if you leaned back you would almost fall over, could hear everyone in to complex. Overall it was a place to stay that was clean and had a comfy bed.

Comments: Catherine’s condo was a wonderful place to stay during my trip to Kauai. Everything was clean, and easy to find. The pool and hot tub area were great, and I liked being able to grill at the pool area. There was a grocery store right around the corner, which was very convieniant. I would definitely stay here again!

Comments: Catherine's place is conveniently located to explore the Northern part of Kauai. We didn't meet her in person, but she always answered very quickly and was friendly. The apartment is suitable for 2 people and has a microwave, a small oven and a small refrigerator which allows to prepare simple meals. All in all, we were satisfied with the stay.

Comments: Cozy unit for a couple with nice balcony, fridge, small electric oven and microwave. The residential object looks new and clean, there is a pool and jacuzzi available. The neighborhood is lovely. Overall I rated this accommodation with 4 stars for 2 reasons: 1. The apartment was not build as a separate apartment (it is one big apartment separated by doors and wardrobe), so we can heart every single word of the family staying in the second part of the apartment (5AM - TV, shower, talking). 2. We do not see Catherine, she was just send us a password for the key. Did not ask if we need anything, no tips for Kauai. I get only one message from her and it was answer on my question when the apartment will be ready. Anyway I can recommended this place if you are ok with noise from next door apartment and impersonal communication.

Comments: You get what you pay for. Location requires a car for everything. No AC & putting that right at the top as this is important most likely every month but Jan-Feb. Bed is comfy and the bathroom was clean & towels were soft :). Parking spot was easy. However, please note the following: Pictures are not from this unit, but same layout. Many things are broken including the chairs outside, the front blinds, and the screen door takes some oomph per se to move. The linens are a hot wrinkled mess and the dishes are to be washed in the little bathroom sink (read: Do NOT use-- oooh gross!!!). Overall, I am going to pass on Catherine's place in the future.

Comments: Location... it's great. 10 minutes to Hanalei 13 minutes to Kilauea. That makes the Lighthouse an easy drive. Good snorkling at Anini Beach (until road opens) only 8 minutes away. The Bistro Kilauea 15 minutes to Happy Hour and some of the best food on the north shore plus meet a lot of locals. Kalypso in Hanalei is another Happy Hour spot with very nice staff and good food and drink. You want to splurge go to the Westin or Princeville Resorts breakfasts (don't miss Puu Poa beach or Secret beach) less than 5 minutes away. And the condo itself is steps away to the pool/spa... Another place to meet fellow travellers. And your car is parked just 100 feet from the stairs to your door, easy daily unloading and loading. The unit is cozy comfortable.. largish lanai to sit outside in all weather. View is lacking but just a 2 minute walk up to the main road/park and you'll be quite happy with the view and great walking paths. So it was better than expected. Doesn't exceeding your expectations always feel better!

Comments: The place is in a great location and provides nice amenities. The value is very good as well. However, because the metal shutters do not close entirely, you are left with the choice of whistling wind throughout the night, or the open shutter with wind whipping through causing the front door to rattle. We ended up putting a chair up against the door which stopped the rattling. Overall, a nice area for a pleasant stay with everything you could need assuming you aren’t planning on cooking.
