Comments: Michael and I loved staying with Paulina and her family! They were so accommodating during our stay on the North Shore and made our last few days on Kauai very enjoyable. The location of the house is great, right in the heart of Princeville and only a few minutes drive to Hanalei. We spent most of our time at the beach and also enjoyed a beautiful sunset at the St Regis Hotel, which is just right down the road from Paulina's house and provides incredible views. We will definitely keep in touch with Paulina the next time we come to Kauai, and I recommend her hale to anyone looking for a welcoming and wonderful stay on Kauai's north shore.

Comments: My husband and I stayed at Paulina's place before backpacking the kalalau trail. Paulina was great! She was quick to respond to all communication. Both her and her husband were very friendly and happy to provide suggestions and answer our questions. The bathroom is shared with the other air B&B room that she rents out which was perfectly fine with us and fun to chat with the other couple. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable! Thanks so much!!

Comments: Our Kauai experience was greatly enhanced by our host's interaction and assistance. Paulina and her family personify the island's aloha and ohana spirit. Thank you Paulina and Harry! My daughter and I take home a better understanding and appreciation of just why so many people love your beautiful island. It's not only the picturesque beauty but the people. Mahalo...

Comments: My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay with Paulina on Kauai. Her and her husband were great hosts and gave really helpful advice on where to go and what to see. We were able to visit the Queen's Bath, Turtle Cave, great beaches and beautiful hiking trails all in two days since the location was so central to these activities. The room is located in a private area of the house with a separate entrance from the main one and the space is shared with one other air bnb room, which could be great for travelers with four guests. We had a great time and would definitely stay with them again the next time we make the trip back.

Comments: We stayed here for 5 nights, and Paulina and Harry were wonderful, gracious hosts. They loaned us beach chairs, an umbrella and boogie boards for our entire stay and gave us great information about nearby beaches and places to eat. The room has a private entrance that is shared with another rental room and bathroom. Very comfy bed, peaceful nights. Thank you so much!

Comments: Paulina made me feel very welcome. She is polite and willing to give information. The listing was accurate. I was surprised to find that Princeville was such an upmarket area with manicured gardens and absolutely beautiful homes. The 2 rooms underneath her house were perfect. Lovely towels and a drier which was great! Own entrance and about a 15 minute walk to Princeville Centre for shops, groceries, restaurants and a bar. You need to walk to the centre in order to catch the local bus which leaves from the main highway. That's if you don't have a car. A 15 minute walk to Queens Bath. I would highly recommend staying at Paulinas.

Comments: This was our favorite place we stayed on Kauai! Paulina and her family were very welcoming and provided us with an oasis in between hiking, snorkeling, and all the other outdoor activities on the island. The room is quiet and has a private entrance and a deck outside. There's also a small kitchen with a coffee maker, dishes/silverware, and fresh fruit so you can comfortably have home made meals!. I will enthusiastically recommend this place to my friends and family traveling to Kauai.

Comments: In a great area! Close to Hanalei Bay, tunnels beach and Na Pali coast. I stayed in the room closest to the front of the house, amazing breeze, clean and big comfy bed. There is a small kitchen with a mini fridge, a single electric stove top and coffee maker. There are grocery stores in the area. I highly recommend Paulina's place.

Comments: Paulina and Harry are awsome hosts. The room as well as the little kitchen, the bathroom and the lanai are super sweet, very clean and nice located in sandpiper village. We felt comfortable from the first minute on. Also our little one was in paradise, since Paulina is well equiped with baby and kids toys :) Thanks very much for lending the surf- and boogie board (and the very good surf lesson by Harry), the invitation to the Easter Saturday dinner and the nice conversations. It was a pleasure staying at your place. We would do it again immediately :)

Comments: A convenient location to explore the north coast. Keep in mind that there's a family living upstairs and the bathroom kitchen/lounge is shared with another room of guests or family. Harry and Paulina are very welcoming and helpful. Great if you want to be able borrow the surfboard or kayak and go down to Hanalei Bay.

Comments: Paula was very kind in welcoming my wife and I into her home. Her location is in a great little neighborhood in an ideal location on the North end of the island. She was generous to offer beach towels, chairs, surfboards, snorkel gear, kayak, and more. We had a great stay!

Comments: Paulina was unable to greet me when I arrived, but she gave me a thorough walk-through of the property on the phone. I did end up meeting her in person later on in my stay and found her friendly and helpful. She told me about a "secret" beach in the neighborhood that (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps alone would not have revealed to me. Another plus is that the place is even nicer than it looks in the photos. The Princeville neighborhood is quiet and suburban, a mix of homes and hotels, with easy access to beaches, a grocery, and restaurants.

-
Reviewer: Bethan
Comments: Paulina and Harry were great hosts, they made us feel extremely welcome and were very generous, allowing us to borrow a surf board, bringing us fresh fruit from their friends farm, and always greeting us with a smile. We were there with our six month old son, and since laundry is a huge part of having a baby it was very convenient to have unlimited access to the washer and dryer. The bedroom was large enough for our travel crib and our belongings, and the sitting area/kitchenette area was a good size. The only drawback would be if you were wanting to cook a lot of your own meals as the fridge is very small and its not possible to buy much and store it, and there is limited facilities for cooking, but we were easily able to make breakfast daily, some lunches, and a few dinners as well. A great location in princeville, walking distance to queens bath, hideaways and sealodge beach (handy since there is no parking there most of the time), and close to a small shopping centre and to Hanalei Bay with all of its shops and restaurants (not walking distance).

Comments: I can't recommend Paulina's place enough! Amazing location on the north island, and easy access to Princeville, Hanalei and tons of great hiking. Her husband Harry is awesome, and offers surfing lessons and board rentals. I did two lessons with him and he showed me how to find good locations, read the waves, and on my third time out I was able to get up on my own and 'ride the rail' a few times. They also do a great job keeping the place clean and comfortable. Some girls staying before me left a huge mess of sand and food, but a few hours later it was spotless. Also has a mini-kitchen with a small fridge coffee maker, toaster, dishes, etc. which was great for making breakfast. You can't go wrong staying here!

Comments: Beautiful area, home is in a golf community. Harry met us when we arrived and was super friendly, just a great personality with lots of Aloha! Paulina was out of town but was very easy to reach and helpful in every way. The space was much bigger then expected, we were able to just relax and have a great time in the house when we were not out exploring all the beauty of the North Shore of Kaua'i!!

Comments: Paulina and her husband were extremely warm and welcoming but also gave us plenty of privacy. The apartment was situated on a beautiful property and we loved having coffee on the porch in the morning. The bed was very comfortable. There's great food and places to hang out, swim, and surf nearby. Paulina gave us great recommendations for all those things.

Comments: We absolutely loved staying at Paulina's place! It was the perfect place to stay if you intend to be mostly on the north side of the island. The extra perk of having surf boards, snorkeling gear, beach towels, etc all available for our use was the icing on the cake for us at this wonderful accommodation. Would definitely stay again!

Comments: -gracious host with palpable 'aloha' attitude. -every visitor I had was surprised with how much I got for the price. -immaculate part of town. -cozy communal area shared with only one other room; private entrance. -wifi; full kitchenette, large outdoor deck; bodyboards, surfboards, snorkels, beach chairs, matts, umbrellas... -the two rooms are separated by the bath so I never heard a peep from the couple down the hall. -outside the bedroom window are 60ft. stalks of bamboo that sound like rain when the wind blows. -there's even a guitar & didgeridoo should you feel the need to express your joy.

Comments: Paulinas place is awesome! It is basically a holiday apartment with two bedrooms, bath and living room with small kitchen plus lanai! You will have a lot of privacy, parking at the house, beach gear, surf boards and a well sorted foodland right around the corner. We enjoyed our stay a lot and can highly recommend this place!

Comments: Paulina was very nice and the place was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was a mix up and no one was available for a few hours after check in to let us in. She was very nice and apologetic about this offering a refund. Also let us store our bags while hiking for a few days- this was great!

Comments: Paulina was a great host -- always quick to respond and handle any questions. As far as the location, it's in a very nice residential neighborhood. Only negatives are that it doesn't have a TV and was a little loud in the mornings. However, overall, I think it's a good find.

Comments: Paulina's place includes the bottom floor of her house, with living room/ mini kitchen, a big sunny deck, and two rooms available to rent, so you may have great privacy, or may have roomates! You can walk to princeville center, or use her bikes to get down to the st. Regis beach, plus theres surfboards, boogie boards, and snorkeling equipment for all the fun you need. I did not have a car (would recommend getting one on kauai) so all this worked out great for me. I biked around and surfed the bay every day. Place was clean, had coffee, fridge and hotplate/pans to cook. Mahalo Paulina, a great stay.

Comments: Paulina is a nice host. Her place provides a nice place to land after time spent at Kauai's many attractions. Her home is close to Tunnels Beach, Ke'e Beach and the Na Pali Coast. Paulina shared her beach gear (umbrella, cooler, snorkeling masks and fins, and beach towels) bikes, and kayak gear. I cooked fish every night on the hot plate and baked brownies in the toaster oven. The bed was comfy and the space was homey. No TV, which might be a problem for some, but you're in Hawaii, so who needs TV! Wi-fi works great, though

Comments: Paulina's place is near to beautiful Hanalei Bay and the Na Pali coast. It is located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood and waking up to the sound of birds and the ocean was very serene. Paulina has bikes, kayak, snorkel gear etc that you can borrow which was appealing to me and I could really take in the beauty of the island.

Comments: We arrived in the afternoon and Paulina was here to show us around. Interaction with guest is limited but if you have a question Paulina is easy to reach. Very nice and easy going. The appartment is the bottom part of the house with a large uncovered deck at the back. You are sharing the appartment with one other airbnb room. There is one shared bathroom with a bath tub in it. The toilet is in the bathroom which is the only downside as when we stayed someone decided to have a bath in the evening so no access to the toilet for about an hour. The kitchen is simple but has everything you need to cook simple meals, pots, pans, dishes etc. There is a hot plate, oven/toaster. The living room is nice and cosy. Internet worked well too. The house is in the heart of princeville in a cul de sac, lots of kids around but overall its slick and quiet (except there was a kid gathering for easter and that was very noisy). Easy parking in the driveway and close to beaches too. Note that the washing and dryer are adjacent to the unit it can be noisy if people decide to do a load in the evening. Paulina was flexible for us leaving our bagage in the living on the day of our check out so it was convenient.

Comments: We loved staying at Paulina's place. It was quiet, clean and our room was bright and had its windows to the garden which was beautiful. We slept very well in Paulina's bed. We had the ground floor for ourselves, only shared it with other AirBnB guests. Next to the bathroom it consisted of a living room area with a mini kitchen and a terrace where we loved to sit to greet the night and welcome the day. Paulina was there, when we needed her, but left us our privacy otherwise, which we very much appreciated.

Comments: Wonderful host and great airbnb experience! Private entrance, porch, kitchen and sitting area separate from rest of house. Comfortable bed and room. Shared bathroom with one other room, so very easy to access. Area is right next to walking trails, golf course, and Queens Bath. I loved walking to get fresh smoothies in the morning at the shopping area nearby--check out the rainbow eucalyptus trees on the course! Paulina gives guests use of snorkeling gear, beach towels and washer/dryer. Would definitely stay here again. A gem!

Comments: Paulina was great and super responsive - especially since I had a last minute booking (just 1 hr prior to arrival). The place is clean and location is amazing. We stayed just one night and location was perfect for the activities on our list (St. Regis happy hour, dinner, Queens bath the next morning). There was a fan that was used by us all the time and the kitchen toaster oven and patio made for a great breakfast at home

Reviewer: Eszter
Comments: The house is in a really nice neighborhood. The house is quiet. If you are looking for a place, where you are not disturbed by the owner this is your place. Room is good, bed is comfy. Kitchen is not really practical. Good for making sandwiches and tea, but not really well equipped for more "complex" things (like heating food). Fridge is small, so buy your grocery and drink for the day. Providing beach towels, chairs, snorkeling gear for free is priceless. Other tenants leaving things behind is helpful. Grocery store is close, area is beautiful.

Comments: We just stayed for 4 nights and had a nice stay. Paulina was very friendly and responsive and easy to work with. The room was very nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shared living area was simple, but nice. We used the hot plate to cook breakfast and the refrigerator was useful. There is no microwave. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The living space is shared with another Airbnb guest room, and we had a nice couple to share with. Porch was nice. We used the beach chairs available and the laundry. It is a great location to explore the north shore. Our only major surprise was that it was a shared bathroom. The listing says "1 bathroom shared laundry." I guess it should read "1 bathroom, shared, and shared laundry." It was not a big deal for us, but just be aware. Overall, a nice place and we would stay again, especially for the rate in that location.

I was surprised to be able to hear the surf at night! Paulina is very friendly and willing to offer advice if needed. Yes the bathroom is shared. We enjoyed meeting the others that were staying down the hall so no problem. They also offered advice on things to do/see. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here! Can't wait to come back!

Comments: The room is a nice size with good storage space. The shared kitchen and bathroom area are welcoming and has everything you need to make coffee and whip up a simple meal. We enjoyed meeting our fellow guests. Paulina is a great host. She had lots of little beach items available like chairs and beach mats. Great experience.

Comments: Great location in Princeville, and lovely bedroom space (one of at least three that are rented out on the property), with two windows that open to a beautiful yard view from either one. No roosters (yay!)!! Very clean living areas, including the nice, elevated lanai. Recommended!

Comments: Good place to go for it's value, just remember that they don't have a microwave :) If you're afraid of your stuff getting stolen, don't stay here, there isn't a way to lock up the place (we didn't have any issues, but just thought I'd let you know.) Also if you're deathly afraid of bugs this may not be the place for you, we definitely had our fair share of beetles, cockroaches, spiders, and ants while we were there, but that's pretty hard to avoid when going to Hawaii. They're not taking over the apartment by any means, but every night we had to kill a few bugs before going to bed. Also it's a bit out of the way from most of the island, so make sure you have a rental car to get around, this is not a central location.

Comments: We stayed for three nights, it was a comfortable way to begin our vacation before going camping. The location was perfect, down the street from beautiful beaches and close to a shopping center where they played music two nights we were there. Paulina provides plenty of beach towels and supplies (like snorkeling gear and boogie boards). There’s also a dog and cat on the property, both very friendly and love to be petted! A huge plus was the washer and dryer, which came in handy after falling around in the mud one morning. But beware of huge cockroaches- I could have gone my whole life without seeing that little guy!

Comments: This room was cozy, clean, and felt like home right away. The living area was spacious and the bathroom pristine. The walls were a little thin at times, but we didn’t mind so much since our neighbors were respectful and quiet. The mini fridge was convenient for storing a couple meal staples, but don’t buy too much; it is a mini fridge after all. Whenever we come back to Princeville, we’ll first check to see if Paulina’s place is available. Cat and dog were precious too! :)

Comments: The stay was as described in the listing and generally everything was good but a few minor issues. For starters the bathroom lock didn’t work and there was no way to lock up the room/house when you left. The neighborhood was very safe and never had any issues but some might not feel comfortable with that. The bed was also overly soft and our backs hurt every morning when we got up. The property was clean, but there were a few bugs, not a big issue. The location was fine for visiting north coast attractions but it was very far (2 hour drive) from Waimea Canyon and NaPali coast. I didn’t realize this when I booked this place since on a map it looks right next to it. Also due to all the rains/flooding/landslides this past April the road didn’t go past Hanalei so you couldn’t get to Tunnels Beach or the Kalalau Trail. Having said all of this Pauline was very nice and we’d stay here again, just not for the entire time we were on the island.

Comments: We had a one-night stay at Pauline's room. The other room was occupied by two Canadian girls, with whom we shared the bathroom. Room was small but clean, and bed was comfortable enough. Shared kitchen looked clean (we did not use it), and shared fridge was clean and very convenient to store food. The lanai was the best part of the shared spaces: it was very nice to spend the evening there having dinner and a glass of wine, watching a movie or chatting with the other guests. Bathroom is small and the drain of the sink was not working properly. Fresh towels and soap were provided, but no shampoo. It was possible to park for free in fron of the house, but parking was a little crowded with the host's car as well as the other guests' car. It was ok for one night.

Comments: As a solo female traveler, this spot was it. I spent a couple of days on the north shore to see/do things that are normally far from a day’s drive from the south shore (where I spent majority of my time on the island), and this location was super. If I wasn’t in Hanalei, I was on foot exploring Princeville and nearby beaches/snorkeling/biking the path. Unit is clean, quiet, gorgeous deck/view, and my air bnb house mates were wonderful (noise wasn’t an issue - for me).

Comments: easy access Princeville location great for an adventuring person who will be out and about most of the time. bring ear plugs and eye mask to sleep beyond sunrise and rooster talk as windows are open for breeze due to no central air. this room is in a shared space with other airbnb renters, not the hostess. sweet outdoor pets and close to late night grocery.

Comments: We never met Paulina, but the place was good for our short stay (2 nights). We overlapped for one night with another couple in the other AirBnB bedroom -- they were easygoing and we didn't have any problems with noise. The laundry access is a plus, and wifi was excellent. The mini-fridge is small to be sharing with folks if you're planning on cooking and eating a lot of your meals in.

Comments: Two bedrooms for guests are located in a roomy downstairs of Paulina's house, along with a laundry room (available to guests), partial kitchen, and shared bathroom. Outdoor access is thru a shared (unlocked) patio door; bedroom doors do not appear to lock either; take note if this is an issue for you. Paulina was generous, and accessible by text.

Comments: Paulina was an amazing host! She went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay! She made sure we knew all the great spots to swim, snorkel and surf as well as all the awesome attractions and things to do! She was so caring and understanding to our first Christmas away from home and made sure we felt the Aloha spirit!! The house was great! Very clean and had everything we needed and more! Also there was laundry which was very much needed due to swimming and snorkeling daily! She provided a hunch of extras as well - snorkel gear, towels, cooler etc to be used while we were there! Overall we had a perfect Kauai experience thanks to Paulina!! We will definitely stay with her again and will recommend her to everyone we know!!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Thanks Paulina!

The home itself is a bit far to walk to many places but the bikes were very convenient! If your looking for a relaxing beautiful home in a nice area, this is for you!!

Comments: Cozy room, shared kitchen, large living room and bathroom, a lanai with a table and chairs, and Paulina is a very sweet and friendly host. She helps wherever she can and answers all sorts of questions you have. It is a very peaceful place. We cooked breakfasts and dinners for us, and if there is another couple who does the same, the fridge can be too small. We would return anytime again, we loved the peace and quiet, too.
