Comments: We loved staying at this home the night before and night of our wedding- it was spacious, well appointed and beautiful! The host Rachel goes out of her way to help you and ensure you have everything you need. Would highly recommend- thanks!

Comments: We had a wonderful month at the Idyllic Sanctuary on moving to Sydney. Stayed there with my wife and two young children who had a great time. Accommodation was as advertised and host was easily contactable and very accommodating. Location is extremely convenient for everything from shops to public transport to parks. The third room provides options for an extra person but it is significantly smaller than the two main rooms which are very spacious and have built in cupboards.

Comments: Our stay at Rachels home was everything the pictures show.We found it to be very spacious and secluded and so much to explore within walking distance.Or many busses only 5 minutes walk to take you to the city. We and our teenage girls loved it.

Comments: Rachel met me on the morning of my arrival and showed me round the house. The house was exactly as described, the beds were very comfortable and everything was of a high quality. I preferred living in Mosman to the centre of Sydney. It has a lovely community feeling but the city is easily accessible by bus or ferry. We ate breakfast and dinner within a very short distance of the house and there was a large range of places to choose from, all providing excellent food. Balmoral beach was also a short walk away which I think is the most perfect beach in Sydney.

Comments: A truly wonderful experience. The home is so lovely and in a fantastic location. Rachel is a great host and very helpful and attentive. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

Comments: Beautiful home and Rachel was an excellent host.

Comments: Rachel met us at the property with a warm welcome. We appreciated the milk in the fridge for a cup of tea - always great to have after a day of travel! The house was as advertised- spacious and in a great location. We much preferred staying in Mosman to the city as it gave us a different part of Sydney to experience. Ferries from Mosman Bay were easy to use and so beautiful, Balmoral Beach was so close by I think we went there every day! Very enjoyable stay.

Comments: We had an absolutely amazing time at this beautiful home. It really is a sanctuary. Beautiful linen, big bath, lovely patios and big old fashioned verandahs with comfy lounges you can curl up in and read with leafy surrounds. Shops with a village atmosphere and ***** dining. Balmoral beach and sea pool. A 10 minute bus ride to town. Trully the best place to stay in all of Sydney with a great host!

Comments: Rachels place was perfect for accommodating various family members who came to Sydney for my daughters wedding. The bridal party readied themselves there and the decor enhanced the vibe. Locale handy although we did not really do any touristy things. Thanks Rachel for the beautiful flowers.

The house is perfect! Lots of space, everything we needed, inside /outside spaces to give us lots of choice and the most comfy beds possible! We will all be back and will highly recommend it to everyone . We did the Mossman -Manly walk (Trail we could walk to) . Up to Freshwater on a bus caught 5 min walk away . We walked to Balmoral beach ( can get a bus) .We walked to the ferry ( 20min ) Everything we needed was close by and easy . Thanks Rachel for everything .

Comments: Such a beautiful house, perfect for my pre-wedding photos. Had everything we needed to make our stay lovely, stress free and easy. Would recommend the house to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Comments: Although I did not meet Rachel in person, she was a fantastic host and great communicator, who gave excellent directions and ensured that we found her property easily. Keys were left as agreed and any questions were answered quickly. We found the property was light filled, airy, beautiful and as pictured, including special touches like fresh roses on the dining room table. The beds were comfortable and french provincial kitchen well equipped. My daughter especially liked playing the piano. The Mosman location was a treat as it was only a quick 800m walk to shops, including a supermarket and great take-away food / restaurants nearby were plentiful. The beach at Balmoral (3 minute drive or 20 minute walk) was gorgeous, a short drive (2 minute) to Mosman Wharf had us on the ferry into Circular Quay with those amazing harbour views and Taronga Zoo was a 3 minute drive away too. My husband travels to Sydney CBD frequently for work so I chose Rachels property in Mosman so he could experience Sydney like a local and how he has never seen it before. Now he tells me he could live there! Rachel's place ticked all our boxes for a family road trip to Sydney with two, almost teenage children in tow. I would definitely recommend to others

Comments: Beautifully furnished, spacious and well equipped house within easy walking distance of the stylish shopping and eating amenities of Mosman village. Well placed for ferry and bus transport to Sydney Harbour area. Although Rachel was not able to meet us, she answered any questions w had very fully and helpfully by text message.

Comments: Great experience. Rachel sent detailed instructions for finding and getting access to the flat. The flat was very clean and comfortable. Easy 2 minutes walk to military rd with lots of shops and cafes or a 15 minute walk to the ferry. Great place I'll definitely recommend

Comments: Rachel made the entire process so easy! It was such a beautiful place and the perfect location to get ready before my wedding. Thank you!

Comments: Rachel was very easy deal to with, nothing was a problem. Very accommodating in our arrival time and departure. House is in a fantastic location, very close to everything you could need. The beds are very comfortable, was a great place to base ourselves with our two small children. We would definitely stay there again.

Comments: My husband and I and two friends stayed in this lovely home for 9 days. Its a very comfortable space, with 2 large bedrooms upstairs, both having lots of light, a full and spacious bathroom and there is a small additional room downstairs (more a small office) that can be used as a third bedroom. One of our group was older and had trouble with stairs so she stayed in this room which Rachel had made up with a single bed. This room also has a toilet with sink off it so very convenient. The kitchen is well supplied with cooking utensils, dishes, pots and pans so cooking was quite easy. We even hosted a dinner one evening for our friends' aunt who lives here in Sydney. About a 3 block walk from the house is Military Road, the main road in Mosman. It is quite a busy street and this is where you would catch a bus down to the Mosman Wharf to catch a ferry into Circular Quay. All very convenient and smooth connections, both going and returning home, as the bus is waiting for you when the ferry comes back to the wharf. We enjoyed sitting on the back veranda having a glass of wine in the evening. There is a deli close by, an IGA supermarket and farmer type market as well, plus a bottle shop, all close walking distance. We were most pleased with our stay here and would definitely recommend this home as your base in the city.

Comments: Staying in Mosman at this stunning property really set us up for our stay in Australia. We only stayed 3 nights and wished it could have been for longer. Photos were exactly as shown, it was lovely and cool in a funky suburb where you get to hang out with the locals. Found some great cafes round the corner for breakfast and lunch. Nearby Balmoral Beach was a great walk and well worth a visit as was the walk to Taronga Zoo for magnificent skyline views. Having a parking area for our 4x4 was a bonus and the outside seating areas were great. Just wish we had stayed longer to fully appreciate all that the property had to offer. Bedrooms lovely and airy with access to the verandah and sofas. Bathroom huge and loads of towels. Bedding luxurious and the beds were some of the comfiest ever ! Great experience and the memories of Mosman will stay with us. Thank you for making our first few nights in Sydney so perfect ! Lex and family.

Comments: Rachel gave us excellent instructions on how to find her home and upon arrival we couldn't have wished for anything more. The beds were outrageously comfortable, the neighbourhood was quiet with a village like atmosphere and the house itself was well equipped with all the things one needs to make a visit memorable.... and then there was the spa bath!!

  • Reviewer: Gwen

Comments: Rachel, has been very helpful and easy to deal with. The house is gorgeous and described accurately, but is even better in reality than the photos. Every thing we might need is there, Rachel even had a beautiful vase of enormous roses on the table for us, very welcoming. Location is great, handy to shops, transport and Balmorel beach. I would highly recommend Rachel's house to everyone.

  • Reviewer: Stuart

Comments: The house was great. Very roomy considering there are just 2 proper bedrooms. The decor was beautiful, the place was clean and the beds were very comfy. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, and lots of bath towels. Good location for reaching city and the Northern Beaches. It was a pleasure staying there.

Comments: Rachel was super! Everything was found as described and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at her lovely house in Mossman! It was perfect for us as we had a wedding to attend at Balmoral Beach which is not too far away.

Comments: Architecturally this is a fabulous building and well located for Mosman. Rachel provided excellent instructions on accessing the property. Unfortunately we did not meet Rachel in person during our stay.

  • Reviewer: Carolyn

Comments: The house was easy to find with the instructions we were given. It was true to the images displayed. The kitchen was well equiped and the house was very central to everything we required such as public transport, shops, restaurants and a local beach. There was an art gallery and large oval at the end of the street. The bedding was of a high standard.

Comments: Absolutely beautiful abode in a great little neighbourhood. Very clean and comfortable, can't fault it.

Comments: We have been staying all around the world with air BnB for years and this is one of the best. Homely, light, breezy. Exceptional facilities. Beautiful kitchen. Close to parks, cafes, groceries, public transport. So family friendly. We can't wait to stay here again.

Comments: We loved staying for a few days at Rachel's exquisite home. It is in such a great location, with a excellent providore up the road, and a 3 minute walk to the Military Road to catch a 15 minute bus ride into the CBD. The house was clean and tidy and spacious for 5 of us. Rachel was very helpful, especially in giving directions and quick in her replies.

  • Reviewer: Steve

Comments: Rachel's home was certainly "Idyllic". 4 of us were accommodated most comfortably across the two large bedrooms upstairs and one single downstairs. The walking proximity to Military Road shops and laneway cafe's was very convenient. We even popped in to the free public Mosman Art Gallery at the end of the street. We chose Rachel's home for its location - close to the Georges Head venue of a family wedding, accessible to the City and easy driving to and from the airport. We had a car, so the off street parking was welcome - parking on the street was at a premium. The home was represented accurately in all photo's and the description. I also enjoyed tickling the ivories of the baby grand! Although we didn't meet Rachel, she was a great communicator and all the arrangements she made for our arrival and during the stay went off without a hitch. Thanks. We would choose this place again if we find ourselves on the North side of Sydney.

Comments: We are just back from our two week vacation in NSW. We had the good fortune to run across Rachels gorgeous home on Air bnb. This place was amazing. We were here visiting relatives and sight seeing from the USA. Its wonderful to hear the kookaburras right in the city and all the beautiful birds. This place is like a garden oasis. Rachel was so lovely and gave us all the information we needed to make this trip perfect. Our family of four was very comfortable and we felt very at home here. My daughter is studying music and played Rachels gorgeous piano while we were there which was an added plus. This home is in the most perfect place. Military road is two minutes walking distance from the house and there are plenty of buses if you do not have a car. We parked on the street because we had a very large mini van and it was just easier. Plenty of parking in the surrounding streets if you need to but there is a private garage there as well for your use. There are wonderful cafe's everywhere and you are very close to Raglan street which takes you down to Balmoral beach. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home but my kids and husband and I were sad to leave our home away from home. Thank you so much Rachel for sharing your lovely place with us. Hopefully we will be back again.

Comments: This is a great house in a fantastic location in Mosman. The rooms upstairs are lovely old bedrooms with timber floors and spacious high ceilings. So close to cafes and everything you need on Military Rd. Parking was easy and convenient too! Thanks Rachel for a lovely stay.

Comments: I rented this property for several special guests in Australia on business. Rachel was an ideal host and extremely hospitable to us. The property is a elegant modern home with a beautiful decor. We were 15 minutes from the centre of Sydney and enjoyed the secluded nature of this property. Only 15 minutes from the beautiful Taronga Zoo and a local Beach. The stunning environment that was well heated on cold days but bright and warm on the sunny days was a great bonus as well as a gorgeous piano in the lounge room. We would recommend this to any AirBnB users who want a special Sydney experience.

Comments: Rachel's house was perfect for us - it's just as shown on the photographs and close to transport and shopping. We were flying in early in the morning and Rachel was very accommodating allowing us to access the property early. We were there for 9 nights in preparation for my daughter's wedding and it really felt like home from home. We didn't meet Rachel but did contact her a couple of times and she always respond quickly.

Comments: The house was very beautiful, and not too far from town. My family loved the style of the place. Only feedback would be cleaner sheets. Thanks a lot for sharing your home :)

Comments: The unit is pretty and had some nice conveniences. There was a lot of other conveniences in the kitchen that was so much better than a hotel. That was thoughtful. It looked bigger to me in the photos and fresher. Maybe more current photos would represent it better. It is located close to everything which was nice and the kitchen had everything we needed. The dishwater was great and it had plenty of nice extras needed to prepare a meal.....lThank You for that. It is a drafty place and there seemed to be a lot of noise of cars driving by.( seems the street has become a busy pass thru)there was lots of banging noises in the morning that we solved by putting towels over the doorway to stop that( one of the bedrooms has doors that lead to an semi exposed sitting area that was blowing a draft if the doors were closed it kept banging REALLY loud, after the towel was placed on top it stopped the constant open and closing of it. And one of the brass window closures was also banging all night from the breeze, I moved it to stop that but it woke us. I wanted to use the Jacuzzi tub but tried three times and the hot water ran out before it could be filled to level of jets.Maybe a bigger hot water tank might solve that. Bathroom was really good otherwise, quite gorgeous and towels were great. Liked the hand held shower head and shower was plenty of room. The beds weren't as large as I thought, I believe they were full size instead of Queen or King which I expected for the master suite. The bedding and Dooners as well as pillows were great. The chairs downstairs had blankets on them which seemed like a great touch. There was major rips and not much chair support left in them under the blankets( FYI ) all in all it was a nice stay. I just expected a bit more for the money paid. Slightly awkward floor plan. Wanted the four of us to chill out to watch a movie it just was laid out awkward downstairs. Just thought that area was bigger . Laundry was good, never used the drier. Dishwasher is a plus and it worked great.check in and out was seamless. The key in the door thing was weird. You had to leave the key in the door or you couldn't leave. This was awkward when we went for a walk and left kids at home we couldn't take keys with us because they could get out otherwise. Parking spot was good. Back yard looked nice but the fountain was full of old water that was green. Verandah was lovely. There are motion sensors in three of the rooms which felt a little weird to me when they went on but must be a security thing. I know we hadn't put the security on. Electricity didn't work in the bedrooms...

Comments: My family and I had a fantastic stay in Rachel's home. The house was beautiful and very clean. I chose this place because the photos looked amazing and it did not disappoint. I got ready for my wedding here and the house provided the perfect backdrop for our photos. The 2 main beds upstairs were large and comfortable. Very spacious bedrooms with lots of wardrobe space. The only draw back was that it didn't have enough curtains in one of the rooms so it became really bright and sunny early in the morning when we wanted to sleep in. The single bed downstairs was great. It was great having two toilets, one up stairs in the main bathroom and one downstairs in the laundry room next to the single room. That way we didn't have to go up and down the stairs for the toilet. Another draw back was that two of the steel chairs on the dining table were missing its seat cushion so I used the bar stool cushions but it may be time to replace them. Also, the 2 single sofa chair cushions were old and worn out. It was covered by a blanket so you couldn't tell, but when you sat on it, the cushion would slide off the sofa with you on it. We had everything that we needed like bath towels and extra blankets (the weather was cold during our stay). It was a 5 minute walk to the local shops and restaurants which was super handy. The garage provided was super handy too because street parking in Mosman fills up pretty quickly. I did not get to meet Rachel in person but we communicated via mobile phones. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your lovely home.

Comments: Rachel's house is lovely. We were a family of 5 in Sydney for my son's wedding at Balmoral and this spot was perfect for very easy access to Mosman shopping centre, buses to the city and Balmoral Beach. We parked the car and basically didn't use it again the entire weekend. There is only one full bathroom however so if you don't like sharing then maybe not for you. We had no problem as it is a huge bathroom and there is another toilet in the laundry/3rd bedroom. The house is spacious with lots of places to 'escape' for quiet time

  • Reviewer: Sharyn

Comments: This house is in a perfect location for cafes, shops and restaurants as well as wedding venues and ferry and buses to beach and city. While in a private courtyard the noise from the road was more than expected.

  • Reviewer: Robyn

Comments: Rachel's place was central for us near shops oval, art gallery and public transport. It is well equipped and very comfortable.

  • Reviewer: Leonora

Comments: Having travelled from the UK the house was a major disappointment in so many ways. The cleanliness for a start particularly in the kitchen was quite disgusting, which probably is why we had visitors from lots of cockroaches each night! The house had defiantly not been fumigated! The third bedroom and ensuite bathroom should not be described as a third bedroom and the bathroom is very much a utility room with a sink and toilet. The linen was put on the beds un-ironed and the towels were even presented to us with stains on. The threadbare furniture in the lounge was a disgrace as was the debris in the garden. Not an enjoyable experience at all, we couldn't wait to leave and it has defiantly put me off renting on Air B & B again.

Comments: Really quirky house to stay in and we enjoyed our stay. The pictures on Air bib reflected house very well. Unfortunately there wasn't a house manual there which would help visitors with knowledge of the area etc. We arrived early evening time and weren't sure what was around in the way of restaurants etc but we walked around and realised we were close to the centre of Mosman and there were plenty of good restaurants within walking distance although a lot were closed on Monday evening. The house has probably been painted internally fairly recently and generally everything was clean apart from the kitchen especially the chopping board, glasses and the cupboards which were pretty cluttered. Wifi is a problem as it ran out very quickly however we asked Rachel if it could be topped up which she arranged for us but that also soon ran out. Really good sized bedrooms and a very small bedroom downstairs but that was sufficient for one adult for a short stay. The road was very noisy especially in the early hours of the morning but the house only has single glazing and some lovely stained glass windows. The garden furniture was ok but large chair had broken leg and was resting on a brick. There was a washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher so that was really useful. It was a 20 minute walk to the ferry terminal but there is a bus service too. Mosman is a really nice location

  • Reviewer: Carol

Comments: Rachel's place has loads of charm and character, very much like the photos. A pleasant surprise! We stayed for 3 nights and found the beds very comfortable, the house close to restaurants, shops and public transport (bus and ferry). There is only one full bathroom, but 2 toilets and basins. The kitchen appeared well appointed, however we didn't need to use it. There was evidence of cockroaches (as there is all over Sydney), perhaps regular pest control would be a suggestion to the host. Unfortunately we didn't make into the lovely garden because of the incessant rain, but it had plenty of character as well. I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

Comments: This was our second stay at Rachel's place. The location of this property is brilliant. Right in the heart of affluent and central suburb Mosman, loads of things for kids to do close by - amazing pizza, oval, park, shops, public pool. Perfect. All you need is in walking distance. The accommodation itself is lovely and everything you could want for a family stay.

Comments: The two upstairs bedrooms are large and well lit. Very comfortable. The third bedroom is more of a maid's quarters (with attached laundry room). If you plan to have a relative stay in that room, prepare for some feedback. My only real issue with the home is the vehicle traffic. Do not understand how a narrow suburban road that is only 3 blocks long can support so much traffic starting at 6am, continuing to 10pm. Plus one day there were some early major deliveries to the facility across the street. [Not sure why this did not appear in other reviews. After my visit I rechecked the reviews. Traffic mentioned on page 3. Deeper than I usually look.] Don't plan to sleep in. Perhaps this was the price to pay for convenience to Mosman village. Walked there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, shopping, wandering. Very convenient. Very friendly.

Comments: Great place in the leafy suburb of Mosman, short walk to really nice eateries, public transport etc. House was great value, and Rachel a great host who answered questions promptly. Would definitely come back when next in Sydney, just so easy to access all that is north of the Harbour.

Comments: Rachel's place is an amazing house within a perfect location. It is situated within walking distance of most things and the house itself is amazing! 5 of us were very comfortable in the house for a long weekend.

Comments: The house is an old house in both good and bad, but we found it very comfortable and kids just loved having a garden to play in. Windows and balcony doors are a bit leaky, especially on stormy weather, but putting a piece of paper between the window will do the job. Public transportation was much better than expected, with M30 getting us fast to any place near the CBD. There are many grocery stores to pick from, and plenty of other small shops too. The square next to Mosman Council is quite lively on both mornings and evenings. Could've definitely stayed here longer!

Comments: Mosman is a beautiful suburb. From this location you can walk to Taronga Zoo, Middle Head, Chowder Bay, Balmoral Beach and the Spit. It is close to many fine cafes and restaurants. Mosman also has excellent shopping. Townhouse was in a quiet location close to Military Road.

Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Rachels home, however there were positives and negatives. Positives were the décor, the spacious bedrooms, the comfortable beds, the backyard area and the location. Although I didn’t get to meet Rachel, she seems very friendly. Overall, the cleanliness was unsatisfactory. The kitchen needed a good clean. The fridge interior, kitchen drawers and kitchen floor were all food stained. We had to wash all the unclean cutlery, glasses, pots, etc before using them. We also found dirty items in the dishwasher. We wanted to use the outside table for a group lunch but the large umbrella appeared to be broken and fixed or stuck in the corner. While the location is great to walk to restaurants, shops and down to Balmoral Beach, the noise of car traffic is very loud in the mornings. Difficult to sleep beyond 7am. The wifi did not work at all. We tried on many devices and nothing. Before we checked out, a broadband company arrived so hopefully the wifi will be ready for the next tenants.

Comments: Lovely house in a great location but let down by a dirty kitchen including the fridge along with a cockroach problem all of which could have been sorted with proper cleaning before handover. The Wifi was very weak throughout the house.

Comments: Rachel's house is so beautiful. the garden is sunlit and magical and the details of the home are wonderful. Some of the vintage furniture is aged but to me this only adds to the beauty of the house. The sofa, beds, linens etc are fresh, clean and comfortable. If you appreciate a period house this place is a delight.

Comments: Five of us stayed here for a few nights. Overall the stay was nice and suited us perfectly. The architecture and furnishings had a classy feel and location was great. There were a few let-downs, though: we had to wash all plates and cutlery before use as they had food stains, pillows and linen were also stained and felt humid, some items in the fridge were way passed use-by date... If the cleanliness was up to scratch, this would be a top place to stay.
