  Comments: Pete's apartment is adorable. As a lone business traveller it was a perfect fit. The apartment is small but I could definitely envisage a couple comfortably staying there too. My first impression was relief quite honestly. The photo's on AirBnB do not do it any justice at all. It was absolutely clean, smelt sweet and was tastefully decorated (even freshly painted) and clutter-free. Pete was a great host, upon arrival he gave me a full run-down of the apartment and the surrounding areas, even highlighting places of local interest on my map! He was available at the end of a phone whenever I called (which was literally only at the beginning to arrange key-collection) nothing at all cropped up that I needed him for during the rest of my 2 week stay. All amenities in the apartment worked great, cooker, heating, power shower, toaster and internet. There is also a laundry room in the basement (I never used it) but can see it being useful to some. Location was also fabulous, in SOHO's "European" NY next to Little Italy and with streets full of good eateries. Then just a few subway stops away you can find the hustle and bustle of times-square. Closest subways were Houston Street (2 minute walk) or Spring Street (5 minute walk). Pete was also flexible on the check-out arrangements allowing me to stay until 3pm before sending in his cleaner at 4pm. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Pete!

  Comments: Thank you Pete for renting your apt for two weeks. Few minute walk to broadway, west village etc and subways are just around the corner. Everything went well with our stay in NYC (and wireless internet in the apt was a huge plus!) Pete was very very helpful and really nice guy. Pete's neighbour Geoff was also a great help. So thanks to him as well. I can highly recommend this apt! ++++++++++++

  Comments: We had a fantastic time staying in Pete's apartment. The area in which it is based - SoHo - is great. There are some really nice restaurants and bars close by, and the subway station is no more than a minute's walk away. Pete was also really helpful which was great as an Airbnb newcomer. All in all, it was a fantastic experience - I definitely know where I'll stay when I go back to New York.

  Comments: The apartment was great and was even better than how it looks in the photos. For a one bed apartment I think it was an excellent size, and the bed was truly wonderful! Location is key for me, and this did not disappoint. It is surrounded by bars and restaurants, which meant I spent hardly any money on cabs during my whole week. The shopping area on Broadway was also super close. Pete kept in communication and quickly replied to my emails. Unfortunately for me another guest was coming to stay on the day I was leaving so I was unable to leave my bags there until my flight, however Pete's wife kindly looked up baggage storage for the day so that I wasn't left with a problem. I would highly recommend Pete's apartment and I would be very happy to stay there again if I was to visit New York for a second time.

  Comments: Pete was very quick to respond to our initial enquiry and was very friendly in his communication with us. Unfortunately, he was out of town during our trip but made the necessary arrangements to get us going. The place is as described, very warm, very clean. Location is great!! Within walking distance to so many things. Make sure you ask him about food recommendations in the area. Hope to stay here again on future visits.

  Comments: If you're going to NY, I highly recommend that you stay at Pete's place in SoHo! My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a fantastic experience. Pete was very responsive to emails/texts throughout the booking process! Marie, Pete's wife, came to check us in and she was very kind and incredibly helpful! She even emailed us a list of restaurants in the area to check out! Speaking of food----there are tons of cute/tasty restaurants in walking distance and lots of shopping as well. Lombardi's pizza (well known and arguably one of the best in NY) is about a 15 minute walk down Spring St. We also ate at SALT which is one block down King st where it dead ends into MacDougal. It was phenomenal. They even comped us an extra dessert. :) And at the end of the night, all we had to do was walk down the block and we were home. Perfect! Great location! Also close walking distance to just about any subway line you need to take you anywhere. Whether you're going to Times Square or the MET, you can easily get to where you need to go! Something else to consider, most of the apartments I've seen/been in in the city are walk ups. This unit is on the second floor---ideal location. Not at ground level, but not so far up that you pass out after carrying your luggage up the stairs. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again!   Comments: My daughter and I stayed for almost 3 weeks at Pete's appartment and we truly enjoyed it...the appartment is very well, clean and tastefelly layed out, kitchen and bathroom had everything one needs when living there for a longer period of time, living room and bedroom tasteful and had a great homy feeling...all was well thought out and especially its location was so convenient, one can walk to all major neerby subways, restaurants, stores etc...being there for a longer period of time made us feel like being in our own second home!!

  Comments: We stayed at Pete's place for 9 nights in July and had a fantastic time. Located on the 3rd floor of a old style walk-up building, the location was amazing. Within easy walking distance to the great shops on Prince St and all the Soho eating, it also has easy access to the rest of town with the 1, C and E trains only a minute or two walk.   We were really unsure of where we should stay, as it was our first trip to NY but this area is really fun and away from all the tourist trap rubbish, so you do get that real NY experience without the Times Square nonsense.  Of course it's only 10 minutes on the subway to Times Square and Broadway.  The place is clean, modern and well appointed, with all the things you will need. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils you'll want, if you want to eat in and being able to have some french press coffee was a plus!   A high quality air mattress was also available for that extra bed, which was great. Air conditioning works well, as it was HOT in NY in July.  The place also had access to a great laundry and fast wifi.  Both Pete and his wife Marie were really fantastic with communication and responded to any questions immediately. We were running a little late into NY, but Marie was so easy to contact to rearrange meeting time and very accommodating. Thanks so much guys!! Overall a really great base for any sort of stay in NY, will definitely stay there again.

  Comments: Pete's apartment was in a PERFECT location - beautiful cafes and restaurants everywhere, a supermarket five minutes away, subway stations a few minutes walk away.. we couldn't have asked for better. I stayed a week with my parents and while it was a little small (though Pete did warn us!) it was very clean and comfortable. Pete was out of town but his friend met me at the apartment and showed me around. Pete was always contactable via phone and checked in to make sure everything was fine. I would definitely recommend Pete's apartment for anyone looking for an authentic NY experience!

  Comments: My partner and I stayed at Pete's 'Sleek Soho Apt' for six days and had an amazing time. Pete met us at the apartment to personally give us the keys even though we arrived around 11pm, and was very kind to share some local knowledge. The location was brilliant, right amongst the action of Soho, yet in a quiet street. We would certainly stay at Pete's again and would recommend 'Sleek Soho Apt' without hesitation.

  Comments: Pete was excellent! His apartment is exactly as pictured and was clean and had all the necessities eg. toilet paper, lots of clean towels, Wifi, a tv and DVD for down time (or while my husband waited for me to get ready) and such a big comfy bed (it was a true queen not a double called a queen which we have come across before). Pete was there if I ever needed help and did not disturb us otherwise. Our friends who also booked through Air BNB were not so lucky. They booked an apartment in Hell's Kitchen which was supposed to be 2 bed 2 bath but ended up being one bed with an ensuite and a terrible fold out sofa. Their host let a friend just let himself into their apartment when they were there and it was terribly unclean. My point is that if you want a sure bet, a great holiday, great host and to not be disappointed when you arrive then I can strongly recommend Pete. Not only this but his neighbours were friendly and very helpful. Lastly the location, in the popular West Village, of the apartment was a stand out for us. Last trip we stayed in Times Square and didn't truly get to experience the day to day life of New Yorkers. We were trapped in that overly touristy area and missed some really great places as our hotel was surrounded by a business district which was largely closed at night. Staying in the West Village meant that we were so close to all the other wonderful areas such as Soho, Nolita, Little Italy and China Town. There is a subway just around the corner that took us any where we needed such as Times Square and the Upper East and West sides. Strolling distance from the apartment was all the best areas for shopping and so many great bars and restaurants...we loved this place!!

We were so happy to discover not only many subway stations close by, but also many great restaurants and cafés. The apartment is ideal for a couple and looks exactly like the pictures. Our communication with the host went well and Pete had great understanding for our need to be flexible with our check-in/check-out times. Would we stay here again? Absolutely.

We had great communication with him before and during our stay This flat is superb and highly recommended! Pictures are 100% the same of reality. It was super clean and well organized. It has the best location in the city centre, next to the Village and with a lot of restaurants, cafes, and everything you need around. I strongly recommend to book it if you're going to visit New York!!!

As others have commented, the location is really amazing and gave us a sense of what it must actually be like to live in the Soho area - a welcome change from staying in a hotel and feeling like a tourist. Other details: the apartment is spotless, the bed is comfy, and Pete is very helpful and friendly. This was our first time using Airbnb and I would highly recommend it!!

  Comments: Pete was a great host who was easy to communicate and coordinate with! He was helpful and attentive to details even with our visit falling over the holidays. The apartment was wonderful - clean and conveniently located. We really couldn't have asked for a better location. Travel to Penn Station, Newark Airport and all of the major sights in the city was fast and simple via the subway stop that is literally around the corner. It was wonderful to end the day by coming back to a location that had that small neighborhood feel, as opposed to a hotel in the crowded tourist district. Within a few blocks of the apartment there are a ton of great restaurants, coffee spots and pastry shops to choose from as well as several grocery and convenience stores. This is really the way to see the city from a more authentic perspective!

  Comments: We had a great 3 week stay in Pete's Soho apartment which was conveniently located walking distance to everything we needed. We literally walked everywhere! Had great coffee at Jacks, cocktails at Raouls, dinner at New Mekong and Bar Pitti and these were just the things located in about 2 mins walk. The apartment itself was clean and tidy in a lovely apartment block which was very secure and well looked after. The bedroom had lots of natural light. There was ample storage space for all our belongings and the kitchen was fully equipped with all you needed for a home cooked meal. There was also a study set up and a great wifi connection which made it really convenient for doing any work and admin. Pete was a great host, very responsive and helpful to any queries we had and made the whole process really easy and pleasant. I would definitely recommend Pete's apartment and would stay again next time we visit NYC.

  Comments: Pete is an interesting guy who ensured a seamless experience for my arrival and departure at his South Village place. The home was exactly as shown in the pictures. I've heard from friends who are in the neighborhood that it's a rather big one bedroom for the neighborhood. Note that there isn't a microwave in the place but that seems commonplace in NYC. The area itself is a paradise of convenience. Subways to Uptown/Brooklyn/Anywhere are within a 3 minute walk. There's a snazzy Vietnamese restaurant round the corner to people watch. The holy grail of NYC street food, MacDougal street, is but one block away. IFC cinema, "cute" West Village Streets, the madness of Soho are all within stones throw of a strong arm. You can't go wrong with this place.

  Comments: We had a very pleasant stay at Pete’s apartment. Keys were deposited at a nearby market and everything worked out perfectly. Pete was very responsive on all questions we had. Location of the apartment was ideal, close to several metro stations and in a great neighborhood with excellent restaurants and bars. Surprisingly quiet for such a location, only on the weekend we had to use our earplugs. This apartment truly gives you a genuine NYC experience and it is in a really beautiful and authentic building.

We sent a text msg to Pete in the cab from the airport and he was here on time to welcome us when we arrived. Only one bad thing is the noise coming from the window in the bedroom: hard to sleep in the morning! but with the jetlag it was no big deal. The location of the apartment is great ! neighborhood is really nice!

Pete was very flexible with our check-in and check-out times, and we appreciated that very much. We had plenty of clean fresh towels. And the shower was perfect with plenty of hot water after a long day of sightseeing. We stayed in for dinner one of our five nights and had everything we needed to make a quick meal. The bed was comfy and clean as well. It was cold in NYC while we were there, but Pete has good heating in his apt. Everything was clean upon our arrival. An extra added BIG plus is the subway station at the end of his block! Since we were on the third floor, we brought our "sound" machine so street noise wouldn't wake us. It was perfect, and we heard nothing outside. Thanks, Pete!

  Comments: This is a cool place in a good hood. It's a little off the beaten path -- not really Soho, not really the Village -- but a short walk to both. Apartment is clean and spacious, bed is comfortable. There are nice touches, like a container of filtered water and beers in the fridge. The only downsides are that the bathroom is on one end of the unit, the bedroom on another, so there's a lot of walking between them. And 6th Ave is right there, so traffic noise can be a problem at night. I'd recommend bringing earplugs or a white noise generator. Also: The Keycafe key pickup/dropoff did not work for me at all. Your mileage may vary.

  Comments: Pete was a stellar host and his apartment was exactly what we were looking for. He was easy to communicate with prior to our booking and was extremely helpful and easy to reach while we were in New York. His apartment is in an amazing location between SOHO and Greenwich Village. There are two subway lines just blocks away and lots of food options just outside the door. The apartment was clean and had nice decor. The bed is large and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. Pete also has lots of extras like champagne glasses, hair dryer & straightener, books, maps, shampoo and much more. We had a great time at his place and we would definitely book with him again.

  Comments: We spent a week in Pete's apartment. Exc­ellent location between different subway­ stations, lovely area of the West Villa­ge close to lots of shops, restaurants a­nd brunch places. Pete was excellent, always communicating­ and allowed us to leave our bags in the­ apartment on the final day after the ch­eckout time as our flight left late. The apartment was lovely, just the right­ size for 2 people, massive comfy bed wi­th plenty of wardrobe space. Very clean bathroom, good size overall and we miss ­it very much! There was a very hot shower, hairdryer a­nd some toiletries available. The kitche­n had an oven, cooker and fridge so we c­ould reheat meals. The lounge had a nice­ TV and sofas too! If we come back to New York, we would no­t hesitate to stay in Pete's Apartment, ­we had an amazing time! Thanks for every­thing Pete, much appreciated!

  Comments: Spacious, very clean apartment in excellent location next to Soho and well connected by express and local subway lines. The check-in was frustrating as no mention was made of the automated key pickup process at a cafe 10min away. It took some time to resolve this and get access to the apartment. From there, the experience was great and Pete was a very attentive host.

  Comments: We absolutely loved staying at Pete's place! The location is fantastic and the apartment was spotlessly clean and well-stocked when we arrived. Need an umbrella? No problem. Need a space heater? No problem. Need an extra blanket? No problem! It looks exactly like the photos, so there were no surprises (thank goodness). We were very impressed. Important to note for some that it is a 2-floor walkup and we couldn't find a microwave. The key pick-up process isn't ideal, but it's perfectly manageable. Pete was very responsive and kindly checked in on us a couple of times during our 2+ week stay. Would love to stay here again!

  Comments: Our stay at Pete's was absolutely fantastic! The whole experience was seamless. Communication was great, it was easy to get the keys, easy to find the place, we had everything we needed and wanted, it was quiet, and simply no problems at all. It was clean and marvelous There was even cold water in the refrigerator when we arrived! That was the best! It is a great location, secure, and close to different subways so no matter where we were going, it wasn't far. There is also a terrific deli around the corner! Definitely would repeat the stay.   Comments: I bloody love this place!!! What a nice little apartment that we had for a few days whilst working in NYC. Everything was amazing, clean and roughly about the same size as out flat in London so we had no complaints at all. Pete was a gentleman who always answered emails prior to us arriving and also wanted to make sure that we got to the apartment okay too, which was late thanks to a two hour delay leaving. I hope that they next time I come to NY then I can bag this same apartment again. The local area is quite quiet and there is a wine shop around the corner and a small grocery shop near by too so you can't exactly starve. Do a few minutes walk either north or south from the apartment and you can find a whole host of places to eat and drink. About three or four blocks from the nearest subway line helps should you need to get about plus there are always a few Uber or Yellow cabs near by if you want a quicker way to get to your destination. As for the apartment, well if had everything we needed to have a great stay and the shower was lovely after being in the hot and humid NY summer. Just can't fault it at all!   Comments: Pete's apartment in the heart of Soho was a terrific place to stay. It is close to all one would want to do in New York, including some of the most amazing restaurants in the city. That the apartment is close to several train stations was an added bonus. The apartment itself was cozy and spacious, and the AC was much appreciated in the sweltering New York City heat. I would certainly stay here again on my next trip back, and would expect nothing but another incredible experience.

Pete was easy to get in touch with; he kindly checked in to make sure I was enjoying my stay, and additionally ensured that the check-in and check-out process was smooth and simple. The location is great, everything is walkable, restaurants, cafes, bars, groceries and fancy and hip stores; it is close to subway stations which is convenient particularly if you want to go uptown to visit the museums. The bathroom is clean, with a bath and shower-pressure! Not very much natural light in the living room, but if you come to visit NY, you surely come back in the apartment in the end of the afternoon, or evening, so it’s not a big problem! The neighbors are quiet. Little, little noise from the street in the room (the street is very quiet for NY), so it’s not a big problem too if you come to visit (even if you come to work), the street wake up as you! The subway is at the corner, and other lines few blocks away. It’s a very convenient place to visit NY! The apartment is at the limit of Greenwich and SoHo, so it’s a very cool place with lots of bars and restaurants. And little supermarket not too far. We didn’t meet Pete (he was travelling) but it was easy to pick up/drop off the keys and he was easy to contact. Very accommodating too, we book the apartment one week before our arrival, and it was not a problem for him. The same to leave. We ask him to leave our bags a bit more time and he was ok! So everything was perfect!!! I surely recommend Pete’s apartment and if I’ll come back, I’ll book it again!!! Thanks again Pete for everything!!! L’appartement de Pete est parfait! Très propre et bien équipé! Une vraie et lumineuse chambre, avec un grand et confortable lit. Nous n’avons pas cuisiné, mais tout semble présent pour le faire. La salle de bain est propre avec une baignoire et de la pression dans la douche ! Pas trop de lumière naturelle dans le salon, mais si vous venez à NY pour visiter, vous rentrerez certainement en fin d’après-midi ou le soir, donc ce n’est pas vraiment un problème. Les voisins ne sont pas bruyants. Il y a un tout petit peu de bruit dans la chambre venant de la rue (la rue est calme pour NY), mais là encore, si vous venez pour visiter (et même si c’est pour travailler), ça ne sera pas un problème. La rue se réveille en même temps que vous ! Le métro est au coin de la rue, et il y a d’autres lignes à quelques blocs. C’est un endroit très pratique pour visiter NY ! L’appartement est à la limite de Greenwich et de SoHo, donc c’est un endroit très cool et il y a plein de bars et de restaurants. Et un petit supermarché pas trop loin. Nous n’avons pas rencontré Pete (il voyageait) mais nous avons récupéré/déposé les clefs facilement. Et Pete a été très facile à contacter. Il nous a aussi bien facilité les choses en acceptant sans problème notre réservation tardive (une semaine avant d’arriver), et en nous permettant de laisser nos bagages...

Loved the location, which is right in the middle of Soho and Greenwich Village. Shops, delis, restaurants and bars are so close, you will never have to leave the area, if you don't want to. You can spend weeks just exploring the area surrounding the apartment. It's really fantastic. The subway station is 1 block away. The apartment itself was just as expected. It's located on a typical nice New York street. The neighborhood feels safe and homey. The apartment was clean, the bed was comfortable, sheets and towels were provided. You will find everything you need in the kitchen like coffee maker, electric water kettle, toaster, pots, etc.... but seriously, who wants to eat at home while in NYC :-) The bed was comfortable and a cute little desk in the bedroom by the window, allowed me to work in the morning while watching New Yorkers rush to work. What else can I say? We hope to be back soon and if available, we will stay at Pete's again, as 5 days were not enough to soak in the cuteness of this neighborhood.

This was my second time in the apartment on a business trip, and once again a comfortable and quiet place to be. It’s not easy to find an apartment in NY that has a full bathtub and space to easily move about in; no tight corners narrow spaces to navigate, thanks to the long layout. The kitchen now has a microwave in addition to everything else (full stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer). The location is fantastic: just a few blocks from the water and tons of restaurants, little grocery and convenience stores around the corner, and shopping nearby. Stay here!

  Comments: MANY MORE CONS THAN PROS. Let me start by stating that we are also Airbnb hosts (Super hosts actually) and do know the short term rental business. I specifically explained to the host that we were arriving early (after a visit to our kids' in College) and asked him, since we knew that the apartment was free the night before (by simply checking on the availability calendar), if he would allow us to check in a bit earlier. BTW, this is (or should be) customary in this industry, let alone if you are a "colleague". He couldn't care less about our requirement. Not only he took few days to respond (and to, at the end, deny it), he simply lied to us by explaining that the cleaning people were not able to come in earlier. When we arrived to the apartment and checked in, we came across the cleaning people and asked them if that was true. It was obviously not. Hard to understand the logic behind. To begin with, check in process is overall very complicated. Keys are located several blocks away from the apartment on a 7Eleven. It is a hassle, particularly if you come with lots of luggage or if it is raining (as it was when we checked out) or if it is cold. This should be noticed clearly on the description. It is not. You only come to acknowledge it once you confirmed the rental and have access to the Full house manual. You just can't come with a taxi, step out and get them, as where the keys are located is a very busy area (in the middle of Greenwich Village, right next to the Blue Note Jazz Bar, just a of block away from Washington Square Park). Quite inconvenient. Also, the apartment is located on the 3rd floor, on an old building. These are very high floors. You have to be ready for this. Although is (slightly) noted on the listing, there should be a more clear warning on what it takes to get to the unit. Although it is also noted on the listing, there is NO TV/Cable service... I know, I saw it, but again, another negative. Internet was not working the first day and it took the host several hours (until the following day) to respond. I had to access a video call and needed full speed Internet. Communication in general was slow. No A/C on the main room (just a fan) and only an old and very noisy A/C unit on the living room that clearly needs maintenance. This is simply not an apartment to come in plain summer with 85+ degrees outside. You will suffer. Some of positives: The location and the area are very good. Although is not technically SoHo, as published (the boundary is either West Broadway or 6th Ave. for some others), there are subway lines very close which are very convenient. The apartment was perfectly clean. Impeccable. This is an absolute must for us....

Having had a lot of experience with NYC throughout my life and knowing how difficult it is to find a decent place to stay with enough space to keep one from feeling suffocated, I can easily say that this apartment is a gem. It’s a 1-bedroom apt with everything: full kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, stove (4 burners), oven, microwave; a bathroom that has a full bathtub/shower combo (many places don’t have this), and the bedroom has an amazingly comfortable bed—way better than what I’ve found at most hotels (I travel constantly for work, and the bed in Pete’s apt outshines hotel beds 9 out of 10 times). The location of this place is amazing. It’s close to many wonderful restaurants and has very easy access to the subway, so finding something to eat and getting around the city is extremely convenient. If you like shopping, this is also the place to be, because the best shops and brands are a mere 5 min walk down the street. The only thing to be aware of is that this is a walk-up to the 3rd floor—so it can be a little difficult moving in if you have more than a single bag (my stay was in the middle of a month-long tour, so I had a lot of stuff to carry), but otherwise, the stairs are a great burst of exercise! Can’t say enough good things. Pete is an attentive and concerned host. His reliable hospitality and all the great features of his apt are the reasons I keep coming back year after year. Don’t miss out on a chance to stay here!
