  Comments: Michael was a great host. He responded right away to my texts and emails. The check in was easy, I met Andrew the super and he provided everything I needed. The listing itself is a classic new York walkup, and is as Michael described on the most famous street in Brooklyn. Right outside you can find three very famous restaurants including Grimaldi's and the Shake Shack. And you are steps away from the Brooklyn Bridge Park with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline. This location is about as centrally located as it gets. I would recommend this listing to anyone who wants to be in the middle of the action!

The location is amazing, close to the A train and an easy walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. The apartment is as described, shower is good and the bed is very comfortable. This is great base for someone looking to get out and about exploring Brooklyn and Manhattan.

The building caretaker was great and offered help if we ever needed it during our stay. The neighborhood has a cool friendly vibe, next to a great park, and good restaurants. The subway was close, which was a plus since we made trips to Manhattan often. I loved my stay in Brooklyn. I recommend this place!

  Comments: Michael and the building caretaker Andrew were pleasant and professional. The apartment is located in a beautiful part of Brooklyn right under the bridge. My only complaints are that the apartment smelled a little like mothballs and the bathroom was somewhat dirty. The caretaker Andrew was quick to respond to all communications.   Comments: Michael was not home, so the apartment landlord Anthony came to meet me when I arrived and when I checked out. He was extremely punctual and helpful, and even carried my gigantic suitcase up the stairs for me :) The apartment is as described, comfortable for 1-2 people. The location is fantastic, as it is so close to the Brooklyn bridge and right by a park and some great restaurants. Definitely recommend if you are interested in exploring the neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

  Comments: Don't rent. Had to wait 25 minutes to get into apartment. Apartment is tiny, with two windows that face a brick wall less then 2 feet away. Cupboards, bathroom, kitchen, walls... DIRTY. Wi-fi did not work, as the Network was not available nor recognized. Michael, who offered the apartment was no help, and was dismissive. Didn't know password or network name. Not clear on box. Found infor packet behind fridge on dirty shelf, and network was not recognized. The only redeeming parts of the place were sheets and bed. Location was fine. Would have cancelled after immediately arriving but would have been a hassle. Would have gladly spent 3x the amount on another place, had I known. The picture of the place is misleading. Michael's "guy" met me at the exact time we scheduled and was very nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend Michael's apartment to an out of town guest.

  Comments: This apartment was perfect for our needs - great location, easy access to the subway, close to cafes and a couple of great pizza places. It's comfortably furnished with the basic necessities, including A/C (so essential for NY in the summer). Michael was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. His landlord Andrew let us into the apartment and was nice enough to move our check in time forward because we had large backpacks. Overall, a great experience from beginning to end!

  Comments: Great apt that has a prime location! Easy access to subway, great food and shopping nearby and walking distance to the waterfront with an amazing view of the city. For those who are looking for an upscale place to stay in, this may not fit your bill. But for anyone who wants a piece of the city and right in DUMBO, best location! And HUGE space for a NYC apt. My friend and I had ample room and we were SO grateful for how flexible Michael and his landlord Andrew were for both check in and check out. We even got to check out a little later than originally planned which was convenient for us having a Very late flight. I will look up this location again in the future for any NYC trips!

  Comments: This is a fantastic location at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. That is the best part. The bedding & towels etc were clean and the greet n meet passable. The price was a sting - I think it was too expensive for a one star joint [bedroom with no window, tiny pokey bathroom etc] but I guess that's the price you pay in the peak summer holiday period. However, be aware if you stay here that the building does not appear to comply with any modern fire safety regulations, there are no fire escape stairs, you can't jump out the window because there is only a 1ft gap with the building next door, the stairs are wooden & if the place caught fire you would likely be incinerated.

  Comments: The location was ideal since it was close to my office and the bridge. However, the apartment could use some TLC. We ended up staying at a hotel because the sheets were rather dirty and bugs were flying in through a crack where the A/C units are located. Michael was quite responsive and kind, but the person he uses to check people in and out could have been a better experience.

L'appartamento, considerato il costo, è adeguato. C'è un letto matrimoniale, e uno di una piazza e mezza. L'aria condizionata funziona bene ma è un po' rumorosa, il bagno è piccolo ma sufficiente. Appena arrivati è stata necessaria una rapida pulizia, poichè l'appartamento era un po' impolverato e il bagno non pulitissimo. Il proprietario è molto gentile.   Comments: Cockroaches! Rundown! I would never ever book this apartment again. Except of location and quick respond of Michael there is nothing positive. The apartment has two windows with view of brick walls (so near that you can touch them), so there is no daylight. There are no dishes (only 2 glasses and 2 cups) no kitchen utensils...nothing. Light in bathroom is nearly coming down and a big fat coackroach is waiting there for you. The apartment need to be renovated! The A/C is so loud that you couldn't sleep. And Wifi did not work (it didn't come up). Michael is available at all times, but saying sth,but does (Website hidden by Airbnb) it is a piece of impudence to require so much money for this sh...apartment. Bed sheets are dirty. We paid over $500 for 4 nights...unbelievable! Don't book it!

  Comments: The apartment could use a renovation, it is old and worn. when we arrived the apartment was dirty and smelled, but Michael was easy to get a hold of, and he sent Andrew, the caretaker who clearede the place while we were sightseeing. we wrote a list of the things that was missing and it came the day after. we did not meet Michael, but Andrew was very helpful. But the apartment has a super good location, in a super nice neighborhood and right on the harbor promenade and pier 1-6 where there is plenty of life. sweeping views of Lower Manhattan and just under the Brooklyn bridge. it takes 5-10 minutes to get to the metro, drive straight to Manhattan. we loved the location and would definitely come again, just the apartment is cleaned. The last 2 days, there was no hot water.

Michael has LOTS of excuses and my impression was that he did not tell me the truth when I contacted him (more than once). Ultimately I had to file a complaint with air bnb.

Espectaculares vistas al lado del mejor mirador donde poder observar las vistas de Manhattan. Debajo del apartamento hay varios restaurantes muy populares: Grimaldi's, Juliana's... Hay muy buen ambiente en el barrio, varios supermercados cerca y la estación de metro a 2/3 minutos a pie (High St.) a solo una parada de Manhattan.

The apartment was very simple but cool. He provided everything you need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is in a beautiful location with a view of Manhattan and the Brooklyn bridge.   Comments: Been going to NY for years, but never stayed or visited DUMBO. LOVE IT!!! Such a great area and this listing was right in the heart of the action. The downside is that it is a NYC-style apartment with some shortcomings. But the location and price make this an unbeatable combination. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. We were there on business, and the bed-sized couch was quite comfortable. Plenty of linens, AC worked great, good wifi connection and full cable tv offerings made this a place to hang out in. 100 yards away is the Ferry, so access to manhattan and beyond is a breeze. A subway is located 5 min away (2,3 lines). Maybe the best part about DUMBO are the restaurants. Cranberry Street took my heart. The activities on the water are extensive and we ended up taking multiple walks in the evening.

  Comments: Location- Steps away to amazing food places AND Brooklyn Bridge Park (with beautiful view). One among our group was a runner, and he said it was perfect for his morning runs. Very central to several subway lines into Manhattan. It was also quiet despite being under the bridge. Apartment was spacious for 3. Clean with all the bathroom amenities and extra towels and sheets. Very accurate to what pictures and description show. Michael was very responsive and accommodating. We dealt with Andrew the building manager for keys, and he was available anytime by phone.

  Comments: In my opinion best location to stay in NYC. Gorgeous panoramatic view on south of Manhattan only 1 minute by walk. Must see sunrise and sunshine from this place more than once. Also great location as a starting point for trips to Manhattan. 8 minutes by walk to the nearest subway (just one stop to Manhattan) Apartment was not so important as the location. But it was usable for sleeping. Most time you want to be outside because you want to see new and new things. Apartment is little bit noisy because of Brooklyn bridge. But it is still acceptable. Thanks for great opportunity to stay at this place for 8 nights.

  Comments: Michael and his property manager Andrew were fantastic. Checked in with me multiple times before my arrival and was very flexible with my check in time, which was important since I was driving in and had to pick up a friend from the airport first before rushing to a wedding ceremony. Andrew met me right when I got there, no wait. The place was pretty big, in a great central spot in Dumbo. We didn't spend all that much time actually staying in the apartment, but it was exactly what was described and fit our needs perfectly. There was even a parking garage around the corner for way easier parking than I expected. I'd definitely stay here again!

I was doing a photoshoot in the area and only needed the apartment to do hair, makeup and somewhere for my model to change. The bathroom needs completely cleaning out, mould in the shower and the sink brings out orange water but other than that it is in a great location and good price.

  Comments: Michael is outstanding with communication as a host. We were in NY on transit for a flight to SE Asia. Storm Stella disrupted our travel plan and Michael was truly flexible and understanding with the subsequent changes. When we finally arrived with all our luggages and snowy grounds, Andrew was extremely helpful getting us settled in. The apartment is 2 flights of stairs up, so if you have big, heavy luggage, please be aware. The apartment is also neat, albeit a bit dark due to lack of sunlight/window (there's only one window but it was totally covered by a neighboring wall inches away). Very small and tight bathroom, and the shower stall might need updating, or serious cleaning. There are 2 beds, a Queen (?) in the main bedroom and a twin in the living room. There are sheets and pillow cases but not blankets/comforter/duvet. Also lacking proper shower amenities. Hopefully those issues can be taken care of in the future. Location in DUMBO was extremely convenient. Overall, Michael is an exemplary host.

We made full use of the close proximity to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the great restaurants in the Dumbo area. The flat was much bigger than I thought it would be. The bedroom was quite large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bed in the living area was also a good size, and very comfortable. The small kitchen had everything which we needed. Overall, I would highly recommend this flat.

  Comments: The accommodation is perfect ....great location with easy access to transport, restaurants, bars and local attractions. This place is great if you just want a place to wash and sleep. It is very dark with no views of anything and the accommodation is very basic. Be fit....2 flights of stairs! The place is in need of DIY but perfect location. It really suited our needs and Michael and the manager Andrew were great (nothing was a problem). If you just need a bed for a few nights this is perfect.

  Comments: The flat is simple but comfortable. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy a view of the Manhattan skyline and a walk across Brooklyn Bridge. Although the flat is right below the bridge, the small internal widows make it fairly quiet.

  Comments: Michael's place worked perfect for us, since we were there for our daughter's wedding and the venue was within walking distance. It's a great location and very easy to get to (we drove from CT). There was plenty of cold water in the fridge, which was a pleasant surprise! Michael was very accommodating and helpful, and although he couldn't be there himself to let us in, he made sure the super was there, who couldn't have been nicer! All in all a good two days!

  Comments: This is great location to stay while visiting the DUMBO area of Brooklyn. You step outside the apartment, to a few restaurants and an amazing view of the Brooklyn Bridge. The bed was comfortable, the A/C worked great and the shower pressure and temperature were perfect. Cons: This apartment is not lived in, so there is nothing cozy/homey about it... just the basics. The views are outside of this apartment, you can't see anything from the inside windows.

  Comments: The house is at a perfect location at the Brooklyn neighbourhood, near the bridge, the bridge park and nice places to eat. 5 to 10 minutes from the metro (according to each line you want). The apartment is good for a couple plus one person that will sleep in the living room. It wasn't as clean as we expected and we found some cockroaches. Michael guaranteed us that we will take care of it.

It is in a prime location: walking distance from the pier with an amazing view (less than 1 min), the bridge (about 5 to get up on it), the metro (7-10 minutes depending on pace), and the wedding we were attending that weekend. It was spacious, at far as NY goes, and provided the basics of what we needed. Thank you for letting us be New Yorkers for a weekend!

  Comments: Positives first... Breathtaking location and a fairly big space. Comfortable bed and building manager Andrew was very helpful at check in. Good communication with host. Big issue is cleanliness. On our second night we returned to a cockroach scurrying between the kitchen floor corner and the stove. The towels were very dirty and we had to ask for new towels. Michael did send someone over with clean towels. I’m concerned that the spot was not cared for properly and is not being adequately cleaned in between rentals. The water in bathroom shower clogs and does not drain well, and there is standing water in the shower as one is showering. Despite the awesome location, cleanliness needs to be addressed.

  Comments: A perfect location in Brooklyn. The apartment is obviously old and the renovation work is not top notch. Another thing to take into account is that this is not suitable for seniors at it would be too difficult to climb the stairs up two stories carrying bags. And just basic stuff in the apartment. The location is so good that everything else can be overlooked (except seniors having to climb stairs of course).

This is truly a bare bones rental though designed for people not spending much time there. Michael was very responsive to any and all communication which was much appreciated.   Comments: The location and cleanliness were terrific. It goes downhill from there. There were no breakfast provisions (coffee pot, coffee or anything). There were see-through flimsy curtains which didn't block any light. Although there wasn't much light as both windows were about 1 foot from brick walls. (while not exactly stating it, the description implied water views.)The building super was supposed to let me in between 1 and 2. He arrived at 1:25. There was no mention of two flights of steep stairs with rickety bannisters.

  Comments: Having been to New York many times I have found that homes here are either perfectly located but too small or have plenty of space but are too far out from the tourist spots. Michael’s place, surprisingly, is perfectly located and also has ample space for 3 people. Located in Brooklyn, it is close to 2 subway stops and I could take my parents to most tourist spots in NYC just by a short walk and taking the train. We did the liberty ferry and we got back to the apartment using the water taxi stop in DUMBO (costs $2.75 same as one ride in the metro) and a minute’s walk. Great view of Manhattan at night nearby and highly recommend the slightly expensive but delicious pizzas 2 doors down from the apartment. Can’t recommend Michael’s place enough

  Comments: Viaggio spesso, anche a New York, e non ho mai visto niente di più squallido e sudicio. Se trovarsi in una buona location, come sotto il ponte di Brooklyn, vuol dire fregarsene di tutto il resto, non sono d’accordo e lo ritengo una grossa mancanza di rispetto per gli ospiti. La casa non ha FINESTRE, ovvero aprendo la finestra, tutta piena di polvere e con una tenda che non viene lavata da anni, a 5 cm c’è’ il muro. Cio’ non ti permette di avere luce naturale durante la giornata; e’ una pessima sensazione!!!! Inoltre il wc, pur avendo fatto attenzione a non buttare carta, si è otturato ben 2 volte. Appena arrivata, avrei immediatamente cambiato appartamento, ma la mia ricerca era specifica in quella zona e purtroppo non ho trovato all’ultimo momento niente di disponibile. Anche io sono un host a Roma e sinceramente mi vergognerei ad affittare una casa del genere, e mi domando come airbnb possa permettere questo.

The day bed worked well for a third guest - PLENTY of suitcase space in the bedroom and closet - lots of blankets sheets and towels - It has minimal kitchen supplies and thanks to another review we were alerted to bring our own travel coffee pot but there’s a Starbucks next door!! HUGE PLUS!! Also the famous Grimaldis pizza is next door! SO WORTH GOING This area of Brooklyn is fantastic - literally under the bridge and a short walk to the subway- if you are going to NY to stay in luxury and spend time in your room relaxing and enjoying scenic views this is not your place- but if you are on a BUDGET -AND want the privacy of an ENTIRE APT in a GREAT LOCATION with a comfortable bed to crash - this is it-
