Comments: I am so happy I booked my stay here for my boyfriend and I while we were in town for a wedding. The house was so beautiful and fully renovated. I really enjoyed the high ceilings and stunning kitchen - made cooking at home feel like a vacation too. The home got a great breeze (so long as you open all the windows) and the rooms were comfortable and relaxing. The house had many authentic emblems of Hawaiian culture and waterman sports as well as the owner's family decorated through out it. The town in Kailua was bustling and we were only 10 minutes away from Lanakai Beach. I did window shopping and picked up some nice snorkeling gear in town too. The grocery store (Foodlands) offers yummy poke (which I had for lunch nearly everyday) and I was in love with the local fruit flavored mochi balls (with ice cream filling). The property manager - Vai was welcoming and I only really reached out to her when I first got there but she gave us some great advice on where to eat, which beaches to get rentals from, and where to find items in the house. Between my boyfriend and myself we used our netflix, apple, and amazon IDs to watch movies and tv in the evenings (bc there is no cable) which was a perfect way to end nights when we wanted to stay in. I can't wait to bring my family here next time since the house is huge. I'd recommend this place to any friends visiting Oahu.

Comments: Our stay at Tutu's Hale home couldn't have been better. Blaine and his host / caretaker were easy to work with and very accommodating. The home was perfect and "exactly" like the photos. Great location in Kailua for ease of travel to the east side of Oahu and the rest of the island. My family and I are not the typical tourists....we don't like Wikki and Blaine's home was a perfect base of operations for our daily water activities. Highly recommend it and will stay there again.

Comments: The house is beautifull! With excellent views over the mountain and in the far distance the sea. Very clean, fully equiped kitchen And good beds. I really can recommend this house to anyone! We really enjoyed our time And we felt at home.

Comments: Despite our late evening arrival, Vai graciously greeted us at the door, making sure the air was flowing and that we were well situated. In the kitchen, there was a nice welcome basket filled with goodies to hold us down until the following morning. The house looked newly renovated; was very clean, comfortable & spacious; and had all the comforts of home (farmhouse kitchen sink, appliances, nice kitchen & bath tiles, sheets, bath towels, beach towels, etc). Lanikai Beach is a short drive from the house, so we were able to enjoy a morning swim and snorkeling. A market, Starbucks, and a few fast food restaurants are conveniently nearby as well. Great place to stay if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.

Comments: Tutu's Hale is a beautiful home located in a Kailua. It is close to the local shops and some of the most amazing beaches of Oahu. Our family of six enjoyed our stay at this delightful and welcoming home. The open layout and well-equipped kitchen were very much appreciated. The morning sunrises are spectacular. Blaine and Vai are gracious hosts. We would recommend Tutu's Hales to our family and friends.

Comments: The house is super clean and perfectly located for a family who prefers a quiet residential area to a tourist spot while still very close to the top notch beaches - just 5 minutes' drive. Haven't had a chance to meet Blaine or his agent who manages the property, but they contacted me way before our arrival with kind notes and sufficient instructions. It could have been better if there were AC's, but the breeze itself sufficiently cools off the air in the evenings. There were ants, but that was bearable. Highly recommendable for a family who wants to stay away from a tourist spot but still wants to be close enough to Kailua & Lanikai.

Comments: We were contacted and warmly greeted by Vai (property manager) prior to arrival. The home was a perfect home away from home. No air conditioning (which is standard for the island), but fans in every room do the trick nicely. The home is just as described and then some. Having access to snorkels and towels left us one less thing to worry about! All appliances in the home were top notch & the cutlery & plates were beautiful! My family completely enjoyed our stay and felt like we were part of the "ohana"!!!

Comments: Blaine and his property manager Vai was very prompt and welcoming. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed from the kitchen supplies to the snorkeling gear for the kids. The welcome basket gave us a taste of the islands right away. The house was immaculate and looks like the pictures. Only issue for us was there was no AC but there were fans in every room and that helped when the island wind came. The location was great close to restaurants and 2 miles from Kailua beach. Upon departing Blaine had notified us that we left a small hole in the wall possibly from moving some furniture. He was very kind about it and waived the fee for fixing it. Overall our family had an amazing time in Oahu, a big part thanks to your beautiful home. Will be recommending this place to friends and family!

Comments: This home was perfect for our group of 4 couples visiting the islands for a wedding. We loved the location, neighborhood and especially how close it was to Lanikai Beach! Our hosts were very welcoming and available if we had any questions. The house was very well kept, updated and has pretty much everything we needed for a wonderful stay. We appreciated the extra beach toys, Hawaiian snacks as a welcome, 3 parking spots and lots of room for our group to hang out in the house. It was only 25-30 minutes from Waikiki and about an 45-1hour to North Shore. I would definitely recommend to other groups!

Comments: Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac in the laid-back Hawaiian town of Kailua, Tutu’s Hale delivers as a peaceful respite on the oft-overlooked windward (or east) side of Oahu. Short story: My wife and I traveled to Oahu 10 years ago. We stayed in a hotel on Waikiki Beach, we largely kept to Honolulu (beaches, shopping, restaurants, etc.), we spent a lot of money, and had a miserable time. We were determined this time to really experience all that Oahu had to offer, and generally avoid the heavy tourist areas. Instead of the traffic and headaches of Honolulu, we opted to stay in Kailua – which turned out to be a great decision. If you are concerned that Kailua may be too far from the action of Honolulu, don’t worry. With the Pali Highway (Route 61), Route 72, and H3, we found ourselves only a scenic 30-minute drive from downtown Honolulu, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Pearl Harbor, or the junction to North Shore. If you don’t believe me, check out these images – this is your drive every day! (Website hidden by Airbnb) The house we stayed in was a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath with a massive kitchen (the owner said there’s even a 4th bedroom if you need it, for just a little more). “Fully furnished” does not quite describe the attention to detail and valuable extras that are provided. Snorkeling gear (check!), boogie boards (check!), ice coolers (check!), washer/dryer (check!), as well as tons of kitchenware, a massive gas grill under the carport, and more. We saved a lot of money on gear we didn’t need to rent, and saved time not having to make that extra trip to the store for “essentials.” A flat-screen TV, Apple TV, and a nice wi-fi setup bring this vintage Hawaiian home into the digital age. There are some great restaurants (4-star or better on Yelp, Saigon Noodle House was one of our favorites - (Website hidden by Airbnb) just a mile away in a nearby shopping center, or in downtown Kailua. Kailua Beach and Lanakai Beach are just a short drive away, and quickly became our favorite beaches of the trip. We got way more for our money in Kailua, and truly felt like we had been to Oahu for the first time. Bottom line: If you want to sip umbrella drinks on Wakiki Beach, with a short walk back to an overpriced, tiny condo, this is not the place for you. But if you want to feel like you are truly living in Hawaii, and experience the island from the perspective of a multi-generational Hawaiian family (the photos are right on the walls!) – with all the modern perks you would expect, I highly recommend this property.

Comments: This is my family's first time in Hawaii and we had a wonderful time here! Blaine's place provided a perfect place for us to stay and live a local's life. The neighborhood is very quite and clean. Safeway and gas station are just a five minutes drive away and the nearby beaches are amazing! Vai the property manager is very responsive and replied all my questions promptly. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in Hawaii!

Comments: My family and I recently stayed at Blaine's beautiful home in Kailua. I had a mix up in our plans and Blaine was extremely accommodating to help us modify our reservation dates. Both Blaine and his property manager, Vai were very responsive and accessible. They welcomed us with a gift basket full of Hawaiian goodies. The home was very comfortable for our family of six. The kitchen is beautifully remodeled, as are the bathrooms. You could tell the remodel was done with meticulous care. The location is just a short drive from Lanikai, my girlfriend and my favorite beach on Oahu. Also nearby is Kailua beach park where you can easily rent all sorts of toys for beach activities including surf boards, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc. Blaine kindly offered us to use his boogie boards, snorkeling gear and beach mats, which came quite handy. I do have to say, however, that the house can get quite hot. I thought there would be air conditioning but as I had learned, it's not common to have air condition in the homes in that area. It was also unusually hot for the time of year that we stayed. Opening the windows does help a bit. Despite that, I would still definitely stay at Blaine's place again. His and Vai's hospitality helped top off our vacation! If you're looking to get away from the busy and crowded Waikiki area, I would highly suggest staying at Tutu's Hale!

Comments: What a beautiful home! Felt VERY homey and our family loved our stay here. You can see it is a very lived in home, with many pictures of grandparents, 3 generations of family photos, traditional hawaiian decor, everything is well taken care of! With beautiful furniture, modern appliances, and a renovated HGTV kitchen. Close to many amenities and grocery stores. Only 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Waikiki (which we wanted to avoid 90% of the time anyways) and only 7 minutes away from kailua beach and lanikai beach! MAHALO for hosting us, we will definitely start looking for a return trip with our Ohana! :)

Comments: Tutu's house was great! Blaine and his property manager, Vai, were fast with communication by email before the trip and by text when we needed anything during the trip. The house is well kept, and the space is great! We stayed here with 6 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby and fit comfortably. There is a company nearby that we rented a playpen from for my nephew to sleep in and they delivered it free because it was so close!...and Vai helped coordinate that to have it delivered and set up before we even arrived. The location is great. We were only 5-10 min from one of the nicest beaches, Lanikai beach! Take note that it's just a few minutes past Kailua beach which we originally mistook it for. Both are beautiful! We were also a 7 min drive from tons of great restaurants (just check on Yelp) and Foodland, where we had delicious tuna poke on the DAILY. I would definitely recommend Tutu's to friends and would even stay here again. Location was great, hosts were great, the house was great! My only concern were the micro ants in the kitchen...but as long as you keep the place clean and don't leave your food laying out, you'll be fine!

Comments: Blaine was quite welcoming; Vai (property manager) was helpful, checking in with us before and during our stay to ensure our satisfaction. Upon arrival, we discovered a very clean home with island treats. The home offers a personal touch with pictures of family members. The view was great; the neighborhood was very nice. The home is located close to shopping and restaurants. The kitchen is fabulous and well stocked with all you need to make your own dinners. Bedrooms were comfortable. Beach toys were provided along with an umbrella and cooler.

Comments: Great home! Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and ready to make full dinners for whole family and friends. The view from dining room, looking down the town of Kailua is beautiful and the backyard is so relaxing and perfect for morning coffee. I would definitely recommend to other groups!

Comments: Blaine's family home was a perfect getaway for me and my family. Not only was there ample room for the three of us, but we found the location and amenities at the house more than capable of fulfilling everything we wanted to do on our first trip to Oahu. Vai, the property manager, was attentive and helpful if ever a question arose. If you're looking for a Hawaiian getaway, but want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Honolulu this house is a definite contender. So much to see all within a 30 minute drive—even better, Lanikai and Kailua beaches are a 15 minute drive away. I would hands down stay here again next time I visit Oahu.

Comments: Tutu's Hale was a wonderful place to stay! I'm so glad that we stayed in Kailua for our first trip to Hawaii. Blane's rental was just as the pictures displayed and everything is high end from the fixtures to the linens. Having beach equipment to use was very handy and enabled us to hit the beach as soon as we got there. Several beaches are just a short drive and several stores are just 5 to 10 minutes away. Vai was great to work with and all of the recommendations were very helpful. If you get the chance, check out Morning Brew and Cactus where chef Thomas went above and beyond to make our dinner extra special!Everywhere we went people were so kind and generous. If we ever get the chance to make it back to Oahu, we will be staying here and we will be telling our friends about this little piece of paradise.

Comments: This house give us wonderful memory!!! Not for location because it takes us little bit time to find it. But it is very quiet and safty. You can easily find supermarket and restaurant over there. You would have full tablewares to cook BBQ/ seafood even Chinese food. All of them are new and we love the dishwasher, it is huge and high efficiency. The house looks very new from inside, new towel new bed new washroom new kitchen. The house owener give us some gift(local food), we take them on our the way out.

Comments: Vai, Blaine's property manager for the space, was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Although I didn't get to meet her in person, she was communicative and certainly made us feel at home. Comments: Our stay at Tutu's Hale was fantastic. The house was beautiful, clean with all up-to-date amenities. Our host left us an assortment of Hawaiian treats to welcome us into their home, and we really hated having to leave when our time ended.

  • Reviewer: Bonnie

Comments: While the description does say that the house does not have AC, the tradewinds that supposedly cool down the house did not do their job during our stay. We were traveling with our two month old which required one of us to stay in the house most of the day and it was unbearably hot. It also made it impossible for us to swaddle our baby at night for fear of overheating. Overall, the condition of the house was nice except for the washer which smelled like mildew and the shower curtain liners which were dirty. It's hard to be positive about the house when we were so uncomfortable with the heat. If we weren't traveling with such a small child, we would have done better to escape the heat by staying outside of the house all day. I think the host should warn families with babies and small children - it seemed unreasonable to expect anyone to stay inside all day with no relief from the heat. We ended up having to purchase a portable AC for our bedroom. Our host suggested to rent one but we couldn't find a company that rented out small portable air conditioners. After reading the reviews, I had high expectations of this house. Also, since my correspondence with Blaine months before our visit was friendly and positive, I thought for sure that our stay would be great. Unfortunately, during our stay, I didn't find him to be as friendly or helpful. Vai, the property manager, was not available for most of our stay which was not explained to us until our attempts to contact her failed our first day there. My family loves Kailua and this neighborhood was really quiet and nice. I was really optimistic about this listing because it was reasonably priced for Kailua. Next time, I'll make sure to stay in a cooler and nicer place and make the drive if I want to go to Lanikai.

Comments: This property is amazing! It housed my whole family of 8 comfortably. The location was lovely. The beaches where pristine. Vai and Blaine were sweet and patient and helped me through my whole credit card ordeal. The beach umbrella/cooler and chairs provided was just the right touch! I would recommend this property to anyone! I live in the city so being only 20-30 min away from Honolulu was optimal. The trails and hikes are so close we made it an everyday morning activity!

Comments: I loved the house, and it topped my first expectation of airbnb. Ladies in my group were so pleased with spacious kitchen and all new appliances. I myself loved the backyard with awesome view. It made my 20 years' wedding anniversary trip so memorable. I would definitely recommend this house to my friends. BTW this house doesn't have AC, and rooms could be quite hot daytime. But the air will be cooled down quickly as it has many doors and windows. I miss the house already, and I would definitely revisit this place next time.

Comments: The host and the property manager responded quickly to all our communications. The description of the house is accurate. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and the view from the back is great. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. It is not a resort neighborhood, but a residential neighborhood close to everything.

Comments: Our party of 8 had a wonderful time at Tutu's Hale with a View. The house is a recent remodel which was exceptionally clean. Although the house got somewhat stuffy during the middle of the day, it was tolerable and its convenient location and safe neighborhood more than compensated. Our two toddlers especially liked finding lizards in the spacious backyard, 'swimming' in the bathtub, and patting the friendly neighborhood tabby cat. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Vai and Blaine for a wonderful stay.

Comments: Blaine and his Team made us feel like one if the family. Easy to reach and help trouble shoot in the middle of his day when wi-fi when it went down, who does that?? If there is only 2 of you, pick Grandmas room. So comfortable that we found ourselves wanting to stay in bed, but thanks to the amzing view of Kailua bekoning us to join her, we liesurely enjoyed fresh brewed coffee in the outside garden while chatting with the nieghbors before departing for downtown and the beach. Tutu's Hale made it easy to forget that we do not actually live in Kailua. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Kailua, and if there is it must be Blaine's place #2. The toiletries beat out any hotel selection. My wife and I loved the shampoo& conditioner picks. The gift basket was a nice touch and having an ice maker you do not have to take an elevator to get to was great. Live the Kailua lifestyle, stay at Tutu's Place!

Comments: My friends and I were in Kailua for a wedding and this was the closest place to our bride who was staying on right on the beach. The house is even better than the pictures and much cuter in person. The kitchen and house are renovated nicely and it's perfectly decorated. The house is fully stocked with dish ware, pots and pans, towels and even snorkeling gear! It's a quaint neighborhood and within a five minute drive to Safeway. It does get a bit muggy in the rooms, but it's nicer if you open the windows and doors. It was a great stay. I highly recommend it!

Comments: There was a little mix up upon entry with the cleaning crew so we were delayed about an hour and a half but Vai was more than apologetic and we were still able to swing by and drop our luggage off. Upon arrival and getting situated the beautiful home and view totally made up for the minor hiccup. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful view! The home itself is also emmaculate - the kitchen has more than enough for all your cooking needs. Once we opened up the windows and got the fans going the home cooled off pretty quickly. The wifi wasn't working during our stay but that didn't bother us, who comes to Hawaii to sit at home and play on wifi?! Not us that's for sure! Lots of great beaches, places to eat, and hiking. Can't wait to come back! Mahalo Blaine and Vai for your amazing hospitality!

Comments: When looking for a place to stay for our family, Blaine's family home stood out far above any other I had seen. The home was lovely and priced well. Everything was comfortable and there were many special touches that showed the Hawaiian hospitality. The beforehand communication was great and the follow up was amazing as well, the desire to make sure our stay was everything we hoped for was evident. I am extremely happy with our stay and our whole family enjoyed this beautiful home, I know I made an excellent choice. thank you Blaine and Vai, we appreciate you!

Comments: My family (me and husband, brother, and my parents) were in Hawai'i for my grandfather's funeral as well as the 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor bombing. This house gave us a comfortable place to stay as a family with plenty of room and lots of great amenities. With the house close to grocery shopping and a cook's kitchen (great pots and pans, gas stove), we were able to have many dinners at "home". Being that we were there for my grandfather, it was especially comforting being in your grandmother's home. The beds were comfortable, the view was beautiful, and the drive to the Honolulu side of the island is really not that far. It was a bit rainy while we were there, and the tradewinds weren't blowing much. It made evenings a little warm, but the bedrooms have ceiling fans, so that made up for it. Thank you so much for being great hosts, and providing such a gorgeous place to stay. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Comments: This home was very spacious. We were a family of 8 when we had rented this home. Pictures dont do justice to this beautiful home. It had a backyard where my children played, a bbq grill to cook in so that we didnt have to eat out often, a gorgeous kitchen, a table that can fit 8, & a great breeze that made the entire home cool. There were no AC units but the breeze & ceiling fans made it nice & comfortable. I must say that this home is in spectacular condition & very clean. Bathrooms had all the amenities as well. You would need to rent a car if you would like to rent this home. We explored the famous beaches nearby, hiked at pillbox & was able to witness President Obama play golf at the 18th hole. There are many restaurants, little boutiques, starbucks, target, & wholefoods (my happy place) at your convenience. This is a place to get away from the tourist area. And if you decide to drive in town.. It is only less than a 30 minute drive. Our host, Blaine & our property manager, Vai was always quick to respond if there were any questions. We had all the privacy we needed. This was a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend this home.

Comments: The place is fantastic and Kailua is magical. We stayed here for four weeks and couldn't have had a better time. We have a 2.5 year old son and the neighborhood was perfect for playing (cul-de-sac) and it was also very quiet at night helping him (and us) get plenty of sleep. I would recommend this place to my closest friends and family for sure. If you are on the fence, book it! You won't be disappointed.

Comments: Mahalo Cousin Blaine for sharing Tutu's Hale with our Ohana for our family vacation. We were so impressed with the space, ammenities, and serene view from the top! Quiet mornings out in the backyard to start our days and after a busy day of local adventures, we'd come back to such a peaceful oasis! Was really cool too, the app options on the TV, making it convenient to chill out and watch our favorite flicks after a long day! Even with a house packed full, the layout gave us all plenty of space to enjoy ourselves, not feeling like we were on top of each other. Tutu's is beautiful, my favorite part; getting to smell the Pikake flowers every morning in the front yard before starting my day! Location is perfect, not being far from every day conveniences (I.e. grocery, restaurants, etc.) and even fun local spots (The Shack, Kailua Beach, Zippys!). Our trip was absolutely wonderful and Tutu's Hale made us feel right at home. Mahalo again cousin.

Comments: We are a family with 3 young children (ages 6, 5 and 2) and Tutu's Hale was an amazing place to stay on Oahu. We have stayed in Kailua before and when we first booked Tutu's Hale, we were a little worried that it was far from the beach, but in fact the trip is very short to both Lanikai and Kailua beaches and I couldn't have been more happy with our choice. The house has everything you need to feel like you're at home and Vai was always available when we had any questions. It is spacious and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. There is even a coffee bean grinder for those who want to know whether to purchase ground coffee or beans. There is even a libations cabinet for those who can get through the child safety lock (which we eventually figured out). There are beach toys, boogie boards, snorkels, coolers, beach mats and lawn chairs. Everything you need for an awesome beach day! The only recommendation I have is that if you have a child who is 3 and under, I would consider bringing your pak n' play for bedtime. The beds at the house are big and comfortable, but pretty high off the ground. We loved the photos of Tutu and her 'Ohana around the house. You really get the sense that you've been welcomed into this beautiful home. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Comments: Blaine's place is cozy with a great open kitchen for you and your family/friends to eat in after a day full of activities. It's located in a quiet, residential area but still close (walking distance) to restaurants and the local supermarket, has 2 very clean bathrooms and the best part is, you can do your laundry right away after a day at the beach. Thank you for being a great host.

Comments: Our families had a wonderful stay at Tutu's Hale! It was in a quiet, residential area which was nice at night since we slept with the windows open. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and the house even comes with a sonos sound system ready to go. Vai was super nice and made sure to check in on us halfway through our stay. The welcome basket was also a nice touch since we devoured the treats upon arrival. The yard is very well kept and has a a great view of Kailua. It is a short drive to Kailua and Lanikai beaches and parking was generally easy to find. We used all of the beach stuff at the house which was a nice bonus. The only slight downside is that there is no a/c but with all of the fans, it was completely fine. Would definitely stay here again and really enjoyed our time here!!

Comments: Tutu's Hale is the perfect extension of our own home for extended family visiting from the mainland. We LOVED not having to trek back and forth from downtown to spend time with each other. The big kitchen is a huge bonus. We will use this home again for future gatherings. Mahalo, Blaine and Vai!

Comments: We loved Blaine's house! Communication with the property manager, Vai, was great! The little welcome basket was a nice touch especially after our long travel from the East Coast. The house was super clean and slept all 8 of us quite comfortably. The drive from the airport to the house was one of the highlights of our trip and was a great way to start things off (awesome views)! We loved the local beach. It was breathtaking and less busy than the beaches closer to the city. The house is also very close to the pillbox hiking trail which we did twice. We enjoyed the local restaurants in Kailua and found getting around to be easy. We visited much of the island from Blaine's place and could reach all of our destination in under an hour. Being from the East Coast, we often awoke early and sat in chairs in the back yard as the sun came up. Watch out for the local kitty (I called Vincent since he was missing an ear) who likes to go behinds cars when it is dark. The only nit picks (and they really are nit picks) is that the water pressure in one shower was a bit low and an army of slugs liked to appear in the back yard late at night and in the early morning (OK by me but the girls didn't like it!). A boat parked opposite the drive way makes backing out a little tricky. But the positives of this house vastly outway those little issues. If we can return, we would absolutely stay here again! Highly recommended! Thanks Blaine and Vai!

Comments: A lovely home with tasteful decorations in a convenience location if you are interested in spending time at the beaches. Two great beaches within 5 mins driving are Kailua state beach and Lanaikai beach. We spent most of our time at these two beaches for 9 days vacation. The picture matches the house exactly. The kitchen was fully stocked with every condiments to make a multi-nationals dishes. A good steak or an Asian dish. Well made pots and pans and a great collection of cooking books to help us created many great dishes. A good collection of travel guides books in the house were very helpful for our trip. We found many other hidden beaches in NorthShore by reading through some of these books which we explored. The neighborhood was quiet, the house has a big back yard for the kids to play and a beautify city view. Vai, the host was responsive to our needs and not very intrusive. She was always attentive from the time we arrived to the tine we left. Thanks Vai for creating a great Hawaiian experience for us, we will definitely stay at your home again the next time we visit Oahu.

Comments: My friends and I had a wonderful time at Tutu’s Hale! The location is in a very quiet neighborhood and near a couple of beautiful beaches. Local eateries and a grocery store are less than 5 minutes away. Very convenient. The home is tastefully decorated showing its island family heritage. We felt instantly comfortable. There is plenty of living space for everyone and the kitchen is well equipped to cook great meals/ dinners if you decide to stay in. Vai, the property manager, was fantastic. She provided the perfect amount of communication and service. It was a pleasure coordinating with her. We highly recommend.

Comments: The home was wonderful. Communication before arriving was great. We didn't get a chance to meet Vai but Blaine stopped by and he was very kind. The home was perfect for our family-- we came with both sets of parents and there were two separate wings which was great. The bathrooms were in good condition too. While we were there it was pretty hot and humid (trade winds were limited due to pressure over the island), but we had windows open and fans running and felt fine. We cooked breakfast every morning and a couple dinners and the large spacious kitchen made it easy for 4 people to be in the kitchen at once. Sitting outside in the yard on the reclining chairs while a breeze blew thru in the mornings and the sun came up over the mountains was one of our favorite parts! Totally recommend this place!

  • Reviewer: Morgan

Comments: The house is just lovely with everything you need for a comfortable stay and location is fantastic for being close to "town" and the best beach at Lanikai and my favorite hike (pillbox and kaiwa ridge trail). The 4 bedrooms are situated in a way that still provides quiet from the common areas and television area where early risers might be gathering. The house is pretty warm and often hotter inside than it is outside - 1 bedroom does not have a ceiling fan but there are 2 standing fans in the house (but the house could probably use a cooling fan or standalone airconditioner). The front door does not have a screen so I would not recommend leaving it open for air because critters fly in!

Comments: The house is very sweet. It definitely feels like home. It is very clean and well-maintained. The large kitchen was great for a family 0f 8 staying there. We also had my 6 month old baby with us. It was definitely nice staying at a home versus a hotel with a young baby. I also forgot to request for an early check-in for my parents and brother, who were arriving one day earlier than the rest of us. Blaine and Vai were very accommodating and made sure that my parents were able to get in earlier than planned and settled in. Thank you again!

Amazing kitchen, plenty of room for everyone to sit at the dining table, plenty of comfy seats in the lounge area, extremely comfy beds, plenty of hanging space and drawers in all 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms makes it easy for large families staying here. All appliances are new and spotless, as is the whole house. Lovely to have the beach gear to use. Many gorgeous beaches and eateries just a short drive away. Quiet street. Lovely views. Comments: After some issues with delayed flights (London clearly can't cope with a bit of snow!) we arrived later than expected and were praying that the long journey and shortened break would be worth it. We were not disappointed. The house certainly exceeded our expectations - the little touches such as the local coffee and chocolates were very welcoming and appreciated! You can tell this is a much-loved family home and we really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us - unbelievable beaches only a short drive away. The view from the garden is lovely and we realised very quickly that our decision to stay near Kailua vs the touristy Waikiki was absolutely right. The communication from Vai was brilliant, she was very warm, friendly and professional. She answered my questions really quickly and when an issue arose (ours) she was extremely understanding. Vai and Blaine are the epitome of the amazing hospitality that Hawaiians prides themselves on and I would really recommend staying here.

It was really nice to stay in Kailua in close proximity to shops and restaurants but away from the congested tourist traps. The house is great, but the level of preparation and professionalism of the host is truly distinctive. Everything about the process went smoothly. This was the perfect place for the 6 people plus a baby in my party and offered an experience far better than any hotel could have. Comments: If you are ready to escape your busy schedule and enjoy time with your family but don’t want to feel like a tourist (unless you decide to) - look no further! From the start communication with Vai & Blaine was very easy and their responses were very prompt. Our family arrived before 4:00pm and we were able to get in the house early. We were very grateful for that since some of our family had 10h flight from Australia. When you enter the house you feel very welcomed. Everything was clean and nicely organized. Snacks were waiting for us- very thoughtful and nice gesture. The house was perfect for 6 adults, one teenager and 15 month old. We enjoyed our morning coffee in the backyard watching sunrise. It was very convenient to have a kitchen equipped with all tools for cooking, dishwasher, laundry, towels, beach toys, parking for two cars, etc. The house has many windows and high sealing -great light and the wind keeps the house very cool and comfortable. (No need for AC in April -temp. high 70s). Each room has fans too. There are books, magazines and guidebooks to plan your activities. The neighborhood is quiet and just down the street there is Safeway and restaurants. Few min drive from the house are the most beautiful white sand (Website hidden by Airbnb) beautiful! We definitely recommend this house especially if you want to escape touristy areas and be woken up by soft sound of birds. Aloha! ✨

Comments: Great experience overall. Our small family came from different parts of the country amd we hadn't seen each other in a long time. We were playing card games and were shocked to get a phone call saying a neighbor was complaining. It really sucked the life out of our trip. Expect VERY STRICT neighbors that complain. The towels and blankets have not been updated in a really long time. It is a nice manufactured style home with a nice sized kitchen. The location and nearby amenities are what really make this place worth it. We could walk to nearby shopping. It really helped when we realized there wasn't any toilet paper supplied other than the nearly empty rolls that were there. I don't mean to make this sound like a bad review, becaise other than these things, it was adequate for what we were in Hawaii to do.

Vai, the host, was great at communicating and offered help should we need it. Loved that the home had a bbq and beach stuff! The neighborhood was quiet, which was amazing. My one and only suggestion would be to have a patio set or more seating in the beautiful backyard. We would have loved to sit out there more as the weather was amazing!! Thank you for an amazing 10 days in your home, hopefully we will get to stay here again someday!

The kitchen is updated, spacious and perfect for having a big family dinner. Amenities like having shampoo, conditioner, soap, beach towels as well as bath towels were very much appreciated. The home is walking distance to Safeway, but also less than 2 miles away from much more shopping + food. The closest beach is 2 miles away, and some of my friends were able to go on morning runs to and from the beach! Everyone in my group was pleasantly surprised with the home.

Comments: Great place in a great location. Beautiful home. We had a problem with the hot water but the host was responsive and willing to work with us when the problem couldn't be solved. First stay in Kailua and it is a fantastic place.
