  Comments: Amy was a really amazing and caring host, and her flat is a beautiful and serene oasis in an up-and-coming Brooklyn neighborhood with great restaurants, like Saraghina (which also has a really cool bar) and Peaches (owned by Fort Greene's Smoke Joint with the best BBQ in the city!) and a nice cafe one block down with coffee and sandwiches. And, most important, there is a bodega with tons of great organic staples for cooking and a wine shop down the block. I lived in Fort Greene for 8 years, and I still can't believe how quiet her apartment is, so it is the perfect place to rest if you are out sightseeing all day (also really close to buses and trains) or, if you need to get work done, like me. I am a PhD student with a young child at home and needed a comfy and quiet place near great food options to work on writing my dissertation. Amy's apartment was perfect! I worked straight for 8 days at her amazing long wood table with a row of windows of light pouring in. And, after these long days of work, I cooked in Amy's beautiful kitchen and slept in the most comfy bed ever! This was my first time using Airbnb, and I didn't know what to expect or how everything would work. Amy was really great, and her son Yasha who lives downstairs was sweet and helpful if I needed anything. When I submitted my reservation request, Amy responded within an hour and answered all of my questions, and we talked on the phone the next day to solidify things. She was there to greet me when I checked in (with coffee and tea and fresh baked bread and chocolate!!) and met my husband and son who were dropping me off for my retreat. Everything went so smoothly, so great in fact that I have already booked her place for another writing retreat in March. I absolutely recommend Amy's place for work or holiday or maybe even if you just need a night to yourself.

  Comments: This was my second visit at Amy's lovely flat in Bed-Stuy. It was just as beautiful and amazing as my first time. Amy is a wonderful and caring host, who offered her quiet and calm home for me to complete the writing of my dissertation. I have been working for seven years in this project and was able to finish the final parts and turn it in to my committee only because I had such a soothing and inspirational home to work from. And after, my husband and I celebrated with dinner and drinks down the street at Saraghina, which has the best gin & tonic in the universe!! Thank you, Amy, I could not have done it without you!!

  Comments: This comfortable first-floor studio, conveniently located near both the A and C subway lines in a lovely section of Bed-Stuy, was perfect for our recent 8-night stay. This light-filled apartment has all the charm of the older brownstones, plus the spacious feel and modern conveniences of a recently renovated building. For two people, this is a perfect spot. Small grocery stores (classic NY bodegas) are close by, as are restaurants, cafés, and a delicious bakery. Amy is a friendly and accommodating host, who graciously provided us with fresh bread and pastries on our first morning. We very much enjoyed meeting her. We enthusiastically recommend this studio and hope to return again ourselves!

  Comments: We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Amy's loft. It is beautiful, spacious, very bright and extemely neat and well kept. Amy was very generous and thoughtful. She had prepared a small bed for our toddler and even had cookies for her upon our arrival. She is also very easy to get in touch with. There isnt much to do in close proximity to the appartment but there are 2-3 amazing restaurants and the subway is a 10 min walk. But overall the location is good and feels safe.

  Comments: Amy hat uns am Tag unserer Ankunft mit frischem Brot und Tee empfangen und uns das schöne Loft gezeigt. Es ist dort alles vorhanden was man benötigt und entspricht absolut den auf Airbnb gezeigten Fotos. Die Lage des Loftes ist perfekt um die Stadt zu erkunden. Mit der nahe gelegenen Subway A ist man in ca.25 min in Manhattan. Das Loft ist wunderschön renoviert und lichtdurchflutet. Ich hätte mir gewünscht das der Lärm der Familie die darüber wohnt abends nicht so stark gewesen wäre und wenn das Loft zur Gartenseite einen Vorhang zum Abdunkeln bekommen würde. Abschließend haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt in Amys zu hause und würden wieder bei ihr buchen.

  Comments: Nous avons passer un excellent séjour dans le loft d'Amy. Elle nous a accueilli chaleureusement, et nous a donné pleins d'informations sur le quartier. Le loft est très beau, très lumineux, avec tout ce dont nous avions besoins (machine à laver, lave vaisselle, machine à café,...) c'était très agréable de pouvoir y séjourner pendant 9 jours. L'accès au métro est très rapide (5 minutes à pieds) et le quartier est très sympa. Petit plus : elle avait prévu pour nous de quoi faire nos petits déjeuner (pain de mie, café, gâteaux, ....) Un grand merci à Amy, en espérant peu être pouvoir revenir une prochaine fois.

  Comments: Amy a été une hôte fantastique, elle a tout fait pour qu'on se sente bien et à l'aise. Le loft est comme sur les photos, très lumineux, très confortable et décoré avec gout. Nous ne savions pas à quoi nous attendre pour le quartier mais nous avons été agréablement surpris. Les voisins sont très agréables, souriants, accueillants. La quartier est jeune, mais la rue est très calme. On va très vite jusqu'à manhattan avec le métro. Définitivement, on conseille ce loft !

  Comments: I couldn't love Amy's flat more. It's beautifully decorated, very clean, and has all the conveniences of home (a dishwasher and laundry in NY? Not to mention the Netflix). Amy greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour, along with helpful advice about the neighborhood and subway. We loved our stay - our trip was part work and part vacation and it suited both purposes perfectly. We hope to stay here again!

  Comments: This is a lovely apartment with fantastic interior decoration, Amy has put a lot of effort into making it a great and unique place to stay. Comfortable bed and really good kitchen. It's just one floor up from the street so there is good light but not too many stairs to carry your bags up. We really enjoyed the neighbourhood - there are a couple of corner shops to buy supplies (one of them selling a lot of organic food) and some really nice restaurants and cafes too, and a short walk to the subway. I would highly recommend Amy's apartment.

  Comments: Amy made us feel welcome and secure from the time of booking. Any questions we had leading up to our stay was quickly answered and no problem. The apartment was amazing- exactly as it is in the photos and was fantastic to come home to after walking all over Brooklyn and NYC. Thank God for the aircon because otherwise there is no air in the hot NYC summer. The neighbourhood is safe and a few blocks down from the subway- I suggest you use the Fulton park entrance for the subway as it appears safer and not as much rubbish around.

  Comments: We stayed in Amy's loft during a heat wave, and found it to be a comfortable refuge from the "mean streets" of Bed Stuy. There is a serenity that is almost palpable in her choice of decor, minimal but tasteful furnishings and views of the garden beyond the French doors. We didn't get to meet Amy but her presence was strongly felt...everything we needed was provided for us, and she was prompt to respond to questions via email. Highly recommended to those wishing to explore an up-and-coming transitional neighborhood of Brooklyn.

  Comments: Amy has a wonderful loft that whisks you away to another world! It is very bright, cozy and relaxing. It is on the first floor of a brownstone. The neighbors are quite and the surroundings are quiet. There is a community garden you can order veggies from, and fresh pasta at Saraghines. Oh did I mention the loft has a full kitchen and a washer and dryer?! It has tons of great eateries within walking distance. Definitely eat at the local resturants and get a Latte. The subway is in walking distance, I'm a Lyft girl myself though:). I will return in the future to stay at Amy's place! And I highly recommend it!

  Comments: I arrived in New York during a huge rainstorm. Amy greeted me at the apartment with a pot of tea and cookies, and I immediately felt at home. I was traveling alone, had never stayed in Brooklyn, and was running late for an event in Manhattan, and she helped me figure out the best way to get there. The metro station is only a few blocks away in this very cute section of Stuyvesant Heights, and I felt safe the whole time. The apartment itself is light, airy, sweet, and homey. It was such a lovely place to come back to every night. Knowing that I could contact Amy or the other tenant in the building if I needed anything was reassuring.

  Comments: I was very, very happy at Amy's house. The neighborhood let you feel the real spirit of Brooklyn, sometimes like jazz and others like hip hop. There's a metro station a few blocks away, so you can go direct to Manhattan without any problem in the A or C train. But this place is so beautiful that you can just stay in the terrace drinking a glass of wine, cooking or reading a book while the warm light of the afternoon turns everything better. And Amy was so nice and caring that I really felt in home.

  Comments: I enjoyed my stay very much. I was comfortable in the neighborhood but didn't go out alone at night. Amy is an attentive host and went out of her way to make me feel at home. I tried several of the neighborhood restaurants & grocery shops up the street. It was so convenient having a kitchen & laundry facilities right in the apartment. I made use of the A train often & enjoyed the few block walk to get there. The Cloisters Museum is on the line & is well worth a visit. The space is charming & looks like the photos.

After a very nice welcome with tea and croissants, she took the time to let us know about the neighbourhood, and everything we needed to know (where to go for breakfast, diner, groceries, etc etc). The flat is a little more than 5 min to the A train which directly goes to Manhattan. It takes a bit of time to appreciate the surroundings but it feels nice and quiet. And there are great places to eat. For who wants the super trendy Brooklyn, it's getting there but not yet. For who wants Manhattan, it might feel a bit too far. But for someone searching for a very cosy and nice flat at a great rate, and the possibility to get to Manhattan or Williamsburg at a few stops away, that's the one.

  Comments: Amy Amy Amy, where do I even begin? A wonderful stay from start to finish. I was greeted warmly with hot tea, a delicious pastry, and more information about the neighborhood than I could hope to explore during my short stay. Amy was particularly accommodating to my cooking needs; the kitchen is equipped with just about anything you could imagine needing, and I was directed to all of the local markets in the neighborhood. As for the place itself, it's very secure and safe. So much so that I accidentally locked myself out on the first night (the door to the foyer locks automatically, so don't forget your keys! ;) Amy, however, was quick to come to the rescue and saved me from the cold. Inside, you'll find that though the photos are wonderful, they don't do justice to the apartment. It's more spacious than you would imagine, and the lighting is fantastic. I only wish I could come back in the warmer months to make use of the lovely patio out back. Plenty of natural light coming in the back windows (not by the bed) making the kitchen area perfect for cooking breakfast, reading, or even rolling your mat out and doing a little yoga; the large mirror is perfect for checking your alignment :) The washer and dryer are in great shape if you need to do laundry, and there's space in the bathroom and closets for all of your things. Simply put, it doesn't get much better than Amy's. If you're looking for a place that's not overly busy itself, with easy access to the more bustling parts of Brooklyn, this is the place. Cheers!

  Comments: This might be the best place to stay in Brooklyn! If you are searching for a place, this is it! Really close to the subway where you can get to anywhere in Manhattan. The neighborhood is really lovely with great restaurants and coffee shops. I always felt safe at night even when I was on my own. We didn't get to enjoy the patio because it was freezing outside, but that would be really lovely in warmer weather. The apartment looks exactly like it does in the photos, very cozy and lots of daylight coming in in the afternoon. Everything is provided and very thoughtful. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend this place to anyone and I hope to stay there again! Amy is really great!

  Comments: What a gem this place is! Amy was so very kind and attentive upon our arrival and throughout the weekend. Despite the copious amounts of snow dumped upon NYC, we had an amazing time, which primarily centered around this fantastic loft. The light is amazing, the decor is perfectly eclectic, the bed SO comfortable...a short walk to multiple unique places to dine and an easy few blocks to the subway. Now we just cannot wait to come back in a different season and experience Brooklyn with green! We never once felt unsafe in our neighborhood and in fact met some lovely people on our walks.   Comments: From the outset Amy was hugely attentive via email and ensured our stay and the run up was hassle free. The loft was exactly as pictured and was beautifully clean. The loft is a 5 minute walk to the Subway and easily accessible to Manhatten and Williamsburgh. The neighbourhood is very quiet and residential with some great bars and restaurants just up the street; perfect if you want a much more relaxed experience than the hustle and bustle. We had a brilliant time and would highly recommend the loft and Amy as a host.

  Comments: Amy was a great host. When we arrived she gave us some neighbourhood orientation over some coffee and cake that she bought from a local bakery and then left us to enjoy our stay. We had wanted to experience staying in Brooklyn and between the delicious produce in the corner shop only a few doors away and the location of the apartment close by the Subway in this lovely leafy suburb we had all we needed. The apartment is impressive and we were not disappointed in relation to its AirBnB listing. We wouldn't change a thing about our stay there.

Apartment was fine and location ok in terms of getting about, however on the Saturday we found ourselves boxed in by a block party which we had no idea about, and our leaving by car was not taken too kindly by the locals. Lots of citibikes for a quick ride to Williamsburg or bushwick areas and 10 min walk to A train for a quick 20 minute ride to heart of downtown, but personally I would focus on the many trendy, slightly rougher, and the upscale areas in Brooklyn while staying here. Amy was very helpful and quickly provided wine glasses and shower body wash on request. Much appreciated.

The flat was quite beautiful, but also cozy and light. The area was good but Amy did warn us to avoid certain nearby neighbourhoods at night, and we felt that was good advice. There were good shops close by and especially the splendid Saraghina restaurant, where we had one the best dinners of our ten day stay in New York. Also very good connections to the rest of Brooklyn and Manhattan.

  Comments: Amy was extremely good at communicating throughout. The place was nicer than I expected with a great patio and backyard. Even in this cold weather, the sun warmed up the back patio nicely. Amy was super proactive in making sure nothing is missed in informing about everything from places in the area to arrival, departure and the apartment. This is a quiet neighborhood and is more suitable for people who prefer that for a night after rushing in the city. There are enough nice places in the area to eat.

  Comments: Amy's place was lovely. Great communication. She came by to meet us and brought some delicious treats for us in the morning, from a famous bakery. The home is very comfy and homie. The bed is heaven. The floor is lovely and it does not get cold (since we went in mid winter with snow out) it was nice to get home take off your winter boots and step on the warm wood floors. However you can hear the people upstairs walking and coming in and out, even from the basement apartment. The sound does come in thru the front window which is where the bed is by, but I'm already a light sleeper and I wake up early so it didn't bother me much. If you're a deep sleeper and don't mind, then you should be okay. There's a few deli and places to get breakfast and food down the block. There's an awesome bakery two blocks down, Saraghina, awesome place. Great coffee, pastries and bread, everything made there. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again.

At first we thought that the location was too far away from Manhattan, but as we understood how to get to the subway, we realised that it was super easy to get to Manhattan and it was only a good thing that the apartment wasn't in the center. The neighborhood felt so safe and the people were nice. We slept well at night, though we woke up in the morning because of the noise outside, but it was ok for us!   Comments: First of all, Amy is amazing. She was very communicative with us throughout the entire process and even provided a long list of local restaurants, bars, and other things to do. We arrived pretty late and she ensured that we both knew how to get to the loft and were able to get in without any problems. The apartment itself is lovely. It looks exactly how it is represented in the photos, except there is not a white fuzzy chair. The bed was super comfortable and everything was very clean and tidy when we arrived. Additionally, Amy ensured that some light was left on and the heat as on so that we were comfortable and not stumbling in the dark when we arrived. The ONLY problem with the loft was the noise. We could hear EVERYTHING going on out on the street. Additionally we could hear the people in the apartment upstairs both going up and down the stairs and walking around in their apartment. Additionally, being an old building, we could hear thee water running in the walls from the heater, which we were not used to since neither of us have lived somewhere like that. However, the noise did not prevent us from sleeping. The neighborhood is very quiet and everyone we encountered was very nice. However, there is not a ton of stuff to do around the area, other than a couple of restaurants and some small convenience stores. So, we did have to travel kind of far into Manhattan or to the more poppin areas of Brooklyn, but there is a subway stop about a 10 minute walk from the apartment so it was no problem getting around. Overall we had a great time and the apartment was a lovely place to stay!

The apartment is close to the A/C for easy access to Manhattan. The neighborhood is quiet and charming. I stayed in the winter, and the apartment was warm and inviting. Check in and check out was extremely easy, and Amy was extremely flexible and understanding when I had to change my departure plans. I had work to do while I was in town, and I found the living-room an ideal spot to sit and work, while enjoying the complimentary tea. The only down-side is that there is some noise from the street in the morning--so if you're a light sleeper or need to sleep in, that might be tricky. Otherwise, a perfect find.

Hon hörde av sig mycket frekvent innan resan när vi ställde frågor och hörde av sig varje dag under vår vistelse där för att se om vi behövde något och om allt var bra. Hon pratade med flygbolaget när vårt bagage försvann och tog emot bagaget på eget initiativ när det kom två dygn efter att vi kommit fram. Hon var behjälplig i alla lägen och var extremt lättillgänglig. Lägenheten var fantastiskt fin och välvårdad och det var rent och snyggt. Lägenheten har en jättefin liten uteplats som vi satt på morgon och kväll när vi hade chansen. Allt vi behövde fanns och hon hade gjort plats för våra saker i garderober såväl som i badrummet. Vi kunde inte vara mer nöjda med vår vistelse i lägenheten och vi vill väldigt gärna komma tillbaka om vi besöker New York city och Brooklyn igen. Vi rekommenderar varmt Amy's lägenhet för vem som helst som vill åka till New York och bo i Brooklyn. Området var otroligt mysigt och människorna var varma och hjälpsamma. Vi saknade inte något under vår vistelse i Amy's fina lägenhet! Amy was a fabulous hostess!!! She was responsive before our stay as well as during our stay when she checked in with us every day to make sure everything was great during our stay. She gave us useful tips and even arranged to meet up with the driver who delivered our lost luggage when the airline called her as they wouldn't call our Swedish number. The apartment is beautiful and we felt very at home there and we loved the little patio where we spent time when we had time in the mornings and evenings. She had made room for our things in the closet and in the bathroom. We will definitely try to stay there again when we visit Brooklyn next time! We would recommend Amy's place to anyone who wants to spend time in Brooklyn while in New York!! All in all this was an amazing stay and we loved the neighborhood too, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or just chatted with people. We didn't miss a single thing hospitality wise during our stay!

Closest station is 5-10 minutes walk away which takes about 1 hour to get into upper Manhattan. She walked me through the entire space and even gave me the details of the neighborhood. The loft is such a beautiful space and I loved every second that I stayed there! Your guide was very handy and I appreciated the tips on what restaurants to try! My only negative would be the wifi. Every time I switched on Netflix it would freeze or come up error. I did troubleshoot but this did not help. Also, if people are looking to spend a lot of time in Manhattan, like I did, just be mindful of travel time to and from. If I came again I may look at a place closer to Manhattan. Amys space was the perfect romantic getaway or if you really want to enjoy the heart of Bedstuy from fabulous restaurants, wine bars and coffee houses to the peace and quiet of Amy's place you won't regret it. It's more than a home away from home. In frigid temps Charles and I felt cozy and tucked away. Alesh was incredibly gracious, even when we pushed our arrival time forward 2 hours, because of the snow. The apt has everything you need, great kitchen if you like to cook, it's like a country home in the city. Even in the cold Amy has made the backyard look magical.   Comments: This house was so cozy and pretty. You can see snow or outside view on your bed with netflix, and even though the weather was cold, the room was so warm. I highly recommend it. btw if you are sensitive person for sleeping, I don't recommend this house because the noise from outside ( car and fire truck ) was disturbing my sleep. but I really enjoyed staying here and I would definitely stay here again! :)

The apartment has a fully-equipped kitchen. It was a dream to start the day with a coffee on the beautiful terrace in the morning sun. Amy was a great host and always replied very fast. The neighborhood (bedford-stuyvesant) is quiet but hip and cool at the same time. There are a lot of fantastic restaurants, bars and cafés to explore. Amy has a really nice list of restaurants etc. in her guestbook. The subway station with a fast connection to Manhattan and JFK (A express and C trains) is just a short walk away. We highly recommend a stay at Amy's place and would definitely love come back some day!

About 8 min to the subway. It's rather far out into Brooklyn but the express train makes it relatively fast. This is a residential area with families. The apartment is quiet. We loved our stay and hope to be back.

When we arrived, Amy welcomed us at the entrance and kindly explained to our stay here, neighborhood restaurants, transportation etc. Amy's place is spacious, high ceiling, large window, nice-designed, and equipped with everything you need in your home away from home. Washer and dryer was real plus. The large balcony is also nice to enjoy morning coffee or evening beverages. In addition to an excellent home, communication with Amy is also excellent. We would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to stay close to Manhattan and to stay quiet great environment. Saraghina restaurant Amy have recommended was especially great. She personally showed us everything in peace in her apartment and offered us her help at any time. The apartment is as nice as in the reviews so far described. The kitchen is well equipped. The apartment is very stylish and you feel very comfortable there. Even Netflix is set up for guests. In the back area is a terrace where you can drink a glass of wine in the evening in peace. The area is also recommended. But Amy did a great manual herself, with tips for restaurants, bars, shopping and so on. This was very helpful. We have always felt very comfortable and would recommend the apartment at any time.

  Comments: My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in the loft. It was a very easy walk to get to the subway station and took only 20 minutes on the express to get to Manhattan. We drove there and found parking out front on the street easily. We are both vegans and there are quite a few vegan option restaurants in the area. The neighborhood is very nice and very safe. We will definitely stay here again next time we decide to visit the city.

Although a far walk from Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan, it is conveniently located very close to a subway station that has the A line express train that will get you anywhere you need to go very quickly. And the neighbourhood itself was well equipped, we loved the nearby bakery, and also the wine store had great selection - as recommended by our host. Amy's communication was quick and helpful, we never had trouble getting in touch with her. Would highly recommend this airbnb!
