  Comments: This is a real find for anyone trying to find a more relaxed part of Hong Kong, but who does not want to leave the comforts of urban life. Located near the former Kowloon city, you live right in the middle of the nightlife of Kowloon district, with many eateries just down the street. The place is excellent location wise as there are buses in front of the apartment building. If not, you can make a 15 min stroll (8 min if you walk at a brisker pace) to the nearest mtr station. Franco and his family really made me feel welcome for a period of 3 weeks, this made me re-appreciate Hong Kong on another level. Especially Madam Wong was an excellent host, much thanks for inviting me to badminton, the hotspot was very delicious! Highly recommended for anyone wanting to seek some peace of mind and feel/see a slower paced lifestyle of Hong Kong.

  Comments: I was only at Franco's home for two nights, and didn't get to spend too much time with the whole family, but I generally felt very welcome at theirs ( (*even if their dog Nana didn't like strangers much, their cat, Little Flower, took a shine to me!) - came back in the evening once intending to pop out again for dinner and they invited me to sit down with them for a home-cooked meal T_T and when Franco and Carina had Boxing Day off they invited my friend and I to join them for a day trip to Tai O where we had a lovely day out walking around the fishing village. Franco's mum Win is also super friendly. Basically I'd love to meet them again when I'm back in Hong Kong one day, or if they visit Tokyo...! Kowloon City is far-ish away from most tourist areas, but it was just right for me since the area is full of cheap and delicious food, and I loved walking around the market, the more traditional provision shops selling all manner of pickles... Their place is probably not for you if you're expecting... I don't know, a hotel or something. It's very no-frills but was perfect for me - I just needed a warm shower, clean place to sleep and some privacy (I had my own room). Be warned about the lack of elevator; Franco and his dad helped me with my suitcase up and down two floors!

The bed may be small as it is mentioned in one of the previous references but for me it was comfortable and I am 190. There are good restaurants near the house (thanks again!) and a park nearby. I would definitely stay at Franco's place again if I had such a chance.

  Comments: Franco is an excellent host and I enjoyed staying at his place even if it was only for three nights. I found the apartment to be just as the advert describes. Franco was communicative before I arrived, and generously met me at the bus stop (A22 route from the airport) to show the way to his apartment. The room and the whole apartment was tidy and clean and I was made to feel at home from the beginning. The whole family is welcoming and friendly and we had many conversations about travel, work, and other matters. To get around, I used the MTR station (Lok Fu) a short walk away (10-15 minutes depending on your pace) but there are other options (minibus, bus, depending on your destination). The local area has plenty of restaurants so it's easy to find a place for dinner within a few minutes walk, and there are the usual supermarkets and other stores so everything you need can be found nearby. Before arriving, I was not sure about staying in an apartment with three dogs and a cat, but in fact they were fine. At first the dogs were nervous of the new visitor, but they never jumped up or caused me any problems, so unless you really dislike animals it should be ok. I would be happy to stay at Franco's place again and can recommend it as a good/clean/safe place to stay. Many thanks to you and your family Franco!

  Comments: On arrival, our friendly hosts warmly greeted us and made us feel very much at home. They took us out for breakfast, showed us how to get around, where to shop, how to catch public transport, and even spent a day taking us sightseeing. They also did the laundry for us and made sure we were very well looked after. The place is clean and comfortable, and if you like pets, this place is highly recommended. There is a shopping complex just a short walk away, plus many shops and restaurants nearby. we have a great time there with franco family.

  Comments: With Franco and his family I felt like I belong here. They were so welcoming and thoughtful :) Their house was close to the bus stop, but they still picked me up there. The house was just like what's shown here, and my room was big enough - even the upper berth was spacious enough to have a nice sleep. I didn't actually have to bring my daily necessities; they shared almost everything with me. And we had dinner together, sharing our life experiences. The dogs were quiet and behaved very well throughout the time (they were actually trained). Everything's fantastic!!! I'll definitely stay at Franco's the next time I come to HK.

  Comments: Franco said I was the 11th guest visiting his home. And I think I am a lucky one. In the 3 days in HK for my LSAT, I received a lot of help and support from Franco and his family. I recommend you to come to Franco's home if you are to take LSAT, SAT, or TOEFL at HKEAA, in San Po Kong. There is a bus stop at the door of Franco's home and you can take the 11D for only two stops(about five minutes), with additional around five minutes' walk to the test center. There are three dogs and a cat at Franco's home. It is easy for them to get familiar with you if you feed them occasionally. One dog named Lubi got so familiar with me that she slept on the floor in my room quietly for a night. I hope she will remember me next time I come to visit Franco. Life in Kowloon City is both of traditional HK daily lifestyle and exotic. Many Thailanders live around. HK-style Cafés and Thai food restaurants may just open vis-a-vis across the street. And thanks to Franco, I tried the best restaurants of the best. Kowloon city is a good place for anyone who just wants to be a flâneur, exploring around the city and experiencing the charming ordinary HK life. And Franco's home is certainly a fantastic place for a rest.

  Comments: It was lovely and had everything one would need to feel at home. It's easy to find even for someone knows nothing about that area. Transportation and other basis are available within seconds. You can enjoy companion from lovely pets. At the same time it has sufficient privacy as well as space for one to relax. Franco and his mom are helpful and really kind people. I joined them at dinner with 4 dogs sleeping peacefully. Though there are 4 dogs the house is clean and just super cozy. I would definitely recommend this bomb, especially those who need to take exams :)

  Comments: I came back to HK to visit my friends here, especially Franco's family :) I feel like I'm a part of the family. For the last time and this time we shared a lot of experiences. We had dinner together. We walked the adorable dogs together. We went hiking together. And we would share our views of life together :) They made me love HK even deeper and they are the reason that I'll definitely come back again.

  Comments: I traveled to Hong Kong for just 7 days. But thanks to Franco and his family it became an unforgettable time for me. The room is spacious and cosy. I had enough space to rest, sleep and place the luggage and bags in. The nights were silent. I got an own key for the building and room. The dogs are really nice and the whole apartment is clean. I was growing up with dogs and know what kinda work it is to keep a house with dogs clean. I never found dirt anywhere. The bathroom is spacious and comfortable. I was having dinner with the family and whenever I had a question I got super advise. The public transport system in hk is quiet convenient. If you buy an "octopus-card" in the airport u can use any transport system with it by holding the card on a scanner to pay. U can charge the card in 7/11 (a supermarket which u can find everywhere in hk). The next MTR Station is just 15 min by foot and the next bus stop is right in front of the door. The area around the apartment got everything. Fresh market, supermarket and many different restaurants with delicious food. If you don't know what to eat, ask Francos mom. She always got nice Ideas and can tell good restaurants nearby. I will definitely choose this room again and whenever I'm in Hong Kong I will visit Franco and his family. Francos room deserve 5 of 5 stars.

  Comments: Franco and his mother were very friendly and welcoming. Communication before my stay was quick and they helped me easily find my way to their place from the airport. The place was very clean and conveniently located near many bus stops and a 10-15min to the closest MTR station. They let me use their octopus card during my stay. I had a great time!

I actually LIVED here :) We shared our life experiences and they inspired me with their precious thoughts. Kowloon City is a traditional region of HK where I experienced local people's lives. Several bus stations nearby are linked to everywhere in HK and I enjoyed sitting at the front seat of double-decker buses exploring this lovely city.

  Comments: I stayed with Franco and his family for around a month. From beginning to end they were incredibly friendly and helpful. Franco gave me detailed information on how to get to the flat from the airport, and his mum was waiting to welcome me. The room was comfortable and clean, with (much needed) air conditioning. I joined the family for some traditional Hong Kong meals, which were delicious. The flat was fairly lively, with around 6 dogs in the living room during my stay. However, they were all very friendly and well-behaved, and didn't enter the private room. The location is a wee bit out of the way - my commute into Admiralty took around 40 minutes by bus and MTR - but its a nice area. Lots of great Thai and Korean restaurants nearby, and the Walled City Park is just round the corner. Overall had a wonderful time living with Franco and the family. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place in Hong Kong, and hoping it will be available if I'm ever back in the city!

  Comments: Franco is indeed a super host!! Pre-arrival communication is good with prompt response. His 4 dogs are surprisingly tame and they welcomed me at the doors upon my arrival! The room is cosy and the bed is very comfy too. Kowloon City is like a hidden gem amidst the bustling cities in Hong Kong. It is a food heaven with many eateries and fusion cafés located just within 5 mins walk from home. Save the hassle of walking to the MTR station! The bus stop is conveniently located right below his house. Franco's parents are very helpful and will patiently explain to me the directions whenever I'm in doubt. I had meals together with his family and visited the nearby wet market to experience the local people's life. Overall I had a pleasant stay at his house and I will definitely be back again for my next trip to HK.

  Comments: I had a great time staying with Franco and his family. From the first to the last day, they always took perfect care of me. They are very generous, globally-minded and friendly people and introduced me to many new foods and interesting places that you may not find in any tourist guide. The dogs were fun to be around (Ruby was my favorite, and she knew it), and despite being home to so many pets, their nice apartment was always very clean. The neighbourhood felt safe at all times and getting around town was easy from Kowloon City. Thanks again for the amazing stay. I hope to meet again someday!

  Comments: Its a lovely home and welcoming family. In certain ways its central to HK as a whole, giving good access to the North/East/South/West, either by MTR up the road, or the bus stops either outside, or just a few blocks down the road. Its a lot more authentic HK than staying in a hotel in HK-Island or TST, and the family invited me along for days out and were always available for tips and advise.

  Comments: It was such an awesome experience! I came Hongkong to take SAT and ACT test and I lived with Franco's family for 9 days. His mom and dad are so generous and decent. I appreciate hospitality. They had prepared nearly all the necessities when I checked in such as alternative plugs, towel, shampoo or even fruits and lemonades! They also invited me to taste original HK breakfest and snacks. Lovely pets sometimes could be a bit noisy, but it didn't matter since they are very quite for most of the time. They are quite adorable and docile.

  Comments: Overall I came away feeling that I had absolutely chosen the right place to stay - I would definitely recommend this place! The room is small and plain, but the bed is comfy and there are plenty of power sockets. Not really suitable as a place to spend a lot of time, much more for somewhere to stash your stuff securely and lay you head at night. What really stands out about this accommodation is the family. So generous and helpful, they go beyond what you would expect from a host. We had a really good laugh together and all my needs (and some wants) were catered for. Yep, if you are a sociable person, this is the place to stay.

  Comments: Absolutely exceptional experience. Although I didn't meet Franco himself, I was warmly welcomed as a friend and very directly and simply by his family (and the 4 dogs, and the cat). The guest room leaves plenty of opportunity also to hide away and get a calm moments for a productive day of work if needed (a desk is provided), but of course, if you have time, the best is to pop out and simply get ready to receive all the love and attention that could get you accointed with the inners of Kownloon City, with lot of nice surprises (nice HK dessert place, was invited for dinner, enjoyed thoughtful talks, and walking the dogs, and visiting the legendary walled city park by night... etc...). I can only recommend this place. I hope I'll have the opportunity to come back.

Ruby非常開朗喜歡找你陪她玩,也是一個十足的好奇寶寶,最後大家就只記得她的名字了. 阿妹,娜娜(小名,全名回來就忘記了),還有最膽小的XX我也怎麼都想不起來,好傷心. 回來很想念他們. 第一天晚上回來F媽媽在家,我們坐著一起聊了好久,非常喜歡和F媽媽的聊天,第一次知道了WorkAway的旅行方式,好羨慕她的開放和簡單. 第二天上午他們一家人邀請我一起早餐,非常地道的港式早餐,超級好吃,等位吃完馬上下一個,雖然很趕但卻講究. 後來才知道F媽媽還要花一個多小時去西貢上班,不知道那天遲到沒有?永遠都會記得F媽媽在國外WorkAway,時刻告訴自己的一句話:我要做得最好,因為我是香港人,代表了香港,不能給香港丟面子. F的媽媽很開朗,F的爸爸比較安靜,但是非常的親切,很喜歡F的妹妹寶兒,希望有機會來上海聯繫我哦,帶你好好遊上海! 遺憾的是沒有見到F本人,聽說他的太太和我是同行,相信一定有很多共同話題,期待下一次的見面!
