But the refrigerator and also the heater is quite noisy at night, I have to take bus then subway to the city. the bus is a little long to wait. Overall, it is a nice place though.

  Comments: The apartment is a wonderfully self-contained space that should suit anyone. Those little added extras like a full TV package is great when you just want to stay inside and though it's quiet it's also close enough to a good travel tributary. And of course our hosts were wonderful though they left us alone for the most part. A wonderful place and experience!

  Comments: Isak was very welcoming and even drove us to the subway so we wouldn't be late for our Broadway show (we were going to take the bus, but didn't leave enough time). We did not meet Sol because she had to leave town unexpectedly for a funeral. Our stay was comfortable and we were plenty warm (the weather was snowy and in the 20's / 30's outside while we visited). We slept soundly and were not awoken by any noises. The bed was very comfortable. We were able to watch cable tv and use the Wi-Fi. After checking out, Isak contacted me to tell me I had left a jacket in the closet. We arranged a time for me to stop by the house and pick out up. Isak went above and beyond our expectations and made our stay and first Airbnb experience just right. Thank you Isak!

  Comments: Hosts were incredibly kind, gracious and accommodating. Excellent communication. Getting to Manhattan was simple and convenient using either the QM6 or the Q65 to the J/Z. The studio itself was comfortable and private -- also had a refrigerator, freezer and microwave. Included high speed internet and FIOS TV with premium movie channels. Hosts also provided coffee, milk, and other breakfast items. Best of all, they offered a parking space right outside the entrance of the studio.

  Comments: We really felt at home in Sol’s studio. Sol and her husband are great hosts – very kind, friendly and flexible with our arrival and departure times. They welcomed us with some breakfast items. The studio is very spacious: it has a large bedroom with everything you need: a very comfortable bed, a table, cupboard, armchair and big TV. In the kitchen there is some space to store the luggage, a big freezer and two cook tops, which is enough to cook a decent meal. The studio is in the basement of Sol’s family house but it has its own entry and privacy. The connection to Manhattan is good; the bus runs every few minutes and takes you to the express subway lines. Moreover, the studio is beautifully furnished and decorated. You can feel that the owners put a lot of care into it. In fact we were glad every evening to come home to such a cosy and welcoming place. When we come back to NYC we would like to stay here again. Eine sehr hübsche und geräumige Wohnung, in der es alles gibt, was man braucht! Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir werden gerne wieder hier buchen. The place is exactly what it looks like in the picture and is very comfortable for two people. We were able to park right outside the place and the neighborhood is nice.   Comments: I spent 24 nights in this cozy studio apartment. I have nothing but good words to say. It actually is slightly bigger than what looks like in the pictures. The family had to go abroad almost as soon as I arrived, but they were always very fast in responding to any question I had. Everything was clean and they left coffee, cereals and milk for breakfast, which I found very sweet. The area is totally safe, and it's very easy and fast to get to Manhattan. Everything you might need is in the area, which makes everything easier for people who don't have a car. During my stay I had no problem. The only little flaw that I can find is that some days it got pretty hot, but this is New York summer weather. I read the old reviews, and I have to say that I found the mattress really comfortable. Maybe the fridge is a little noisy indeed, but honestly after the first day I didn't even notice it anymore. I highly recommend this place, I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did

  Comments: The first thing was the great welcoming of the hosts. They had even put 70s years birthday decorations i the room for Nicholas with a cake and candle. This was a lovely gesture that one could not expect at all. Then they took us to the bus stop and showed us all about the area: grocery shops, restaurants etc. There was plenty of food and other things supplied by the hosts: coffee, teas, sugar, a box of cereals, oats, fresh milk, orange juice, honey, fresh sliced bread, salt, black pepper. Also plenty of washing up liquid, kitchen paper towel, washing liquid, toilet paper. The made one feels at home straight away. A big plus pf tis property, is peace and safety of the location. A big minus is the remoteness of the location: 1 hour + to Central Manhattan, with often standing room only on the subway at morning and evening rush hours but also at noon too. This is the trade off to make.

  Comments: This private entrance studio is located in a very safe area. Near JFK airport. (Exactly like is described) Within walking distance to fast food eateries. The host Sol and husband are very nice, friendly people. Easy to talk with. The studio is definitely a cozy space. The shower is a little on the narrow side (which we're not used too). As a first time Airbnb user, the vacation experience was definitely an adventure and would recommend for all to try Airbnb!

  Comments: Sol and her husband were very welcoming. The flat was tidy and clean. There was milk, coffee and cake for a quick snack when I arrived. The connections to JFK airport and Manhattan were quite good via bus and train. Overall I enjoyed the couple of days in Queens and Sol was even kind enough to let me stay a few hours longer before checking out and catching my flight. Thanks a lot for the hospitality

  Comments: Omg!! It was beyond excellent! First off Sol and Issac are sweet, caring people that don't bother you at all if you want your privacy! In the beginning I arrived a little late (sorry about that again guys) and they were so understanding and sweet about it! The space is everything you would hope for if you are just visiting or even if you wanted to rest for a day. They have great tv, a cozy bed and lazy boy chair that is a dream! The decor is inviting and pleasant just like them! The neighborhood is quite and there was always parking available! I highly highly recommend his place to anyone!

  Comments: Sol has such a great place. We enjoyed the comfy bed, the lazyboy in front of the tv (while watching HD movies), the washroom is clean and complete with what you needed (hot shower for cold weather, shampoo and body wash, supply of tissue paper), Sol's place has facility for cooking and washing clothes but we never got to try it. Sol welcomed us when we came, showed us around the house briefly and gave us instructions on traveling to Manhattan. Sol is very responsive to every question that we ask her.

Sol left some basics like cereal, cake and milk which was very kind and when I made an enquiry Isaac came down straight away and sorted any issues . Parking is good near the house and we were left in private unless we needed help, I will definitely be coming here again when I come to New York, thank you for the lovely stay.

  Comments: Sol is a very nice and helpful host! The apartment is down at the basement but it is very clean! All the household goods and appliances are prepared and ready to use. One thing that made me a little bit uncomfortable is that there is a bit of moldy smell in the apartment. I didn't find a good way to make the smell go away. Hope Sol can do something about this. Overall, this apartment is wonderful! Parking is easy to find and public transits is super accessible around the area! Thank you, Sol!

  Comments: Sol was a wonderful host. She kept in touch from the moment we booked her place until we checked in. Her place is spectacular. Everything is exactly the same as the photos portrayed. Very clean space! When we arrived, she assisted with our luggage, briefly showed us the place , provided a small treat (cake with tea/coffee) and left us. Did not see or hear from her until check out. (Would've been nice of the host to check in on her guest to make sure everything was ok). The only issue we had was the bathroom. (It gets very cold in the winter and there is no heat in there). Overall, it was an awesome to place, close to public transportation. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks again Sol!

  Comments: Although I only got a chance to meet Sol, my stay at their comfy home was great. Just as the description says, there are many nearby places to eat and/or get groceries. The nearest subway on foot is Pearson's Ave, which was a 15 minute walk or less! Overall, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay!

  Comments: We arrived at an unconventional time but she made sure we were tended to. The living space itself was perfect. It was easy access to all the venues that we needed to attend and there was ample parking space nearby. Also the area was quite private and we felt comfortable there.   Comments: I booked this when I was looking for a place to stay close to sju for my daughter's graduation. Sol's place is very nice and comfortable. Everything is clean and ready. She even provided cake, cereal, coffee and milk. The place comes with a kitchenette and if you wanted to, could cook meals, she had pots and pans, dishes, utensils and everything needed.   Comments: Although Sol and Izak were not available at the time we arrived, Sol gave clear instructions on how to get in the studio and was readily available for queries. They have a welcome pamphlet that indicates: their contact details, address, username and wifi password as well as instructions on how to get in and out of manhattan. Amenities such as washer, dryer, microwave, coffee maker, coffee and tea as well as plates and utensils were available and it really felt like you were home. It was our first time trying AirbNb and it definitely exceeded our expectations. Thanks again for having us!

Knowing that I was arriving very late that night, and wouldn't have had time to shop, she very kindly provided my son and I with cereal and milk for breakfast, as well as tea and coffee for our entire stay! What a lovely treat! The apartment is very private, and was exactly as described. We travelled into Manhattan daily - the bus connection to the metro station took about 10mins, and the trip into Manhattan took about 40mins. Sol also gave us lots of good advice about what to do/not to do!

The studio was clean and charming. Having wifi and a washer/dryer was a plus.   Comments: Sol met us with a warm welcome and was helpful with directions and organising a driver for a very early JFK departure. The apartment is very convenient for its proximity to JFK. A bus then the subway takes you into Manhattan in about an hour. The apartment is self-contained with washer, dryer and kitchen. A simple breakfast of cereal and coffee is provided. Thanks Sol :-)

  Comments: Sol was very kind and let us check in early. Had milk and coffee available for our stay. The location was perfect only a few blocks from St Johns university. We were a bit warm the first night as there was no air conditioning only a fan, but when I informed Sol she provided another fan which made it much more comfortable. Overall great stay. Great location near St. John's University with many good restaurants nearby and easy access to public transit to Manhattan, airports and our son's school out on Long Island.   Comments: Our stay at Sol's place was simply perfect. We had to check in slightly early and Sol accommodated for this, she has a very friendly personality. She provided us with cereal and milk, amongst other things which were ideal as we had not yet explored the area and so this was extremely convenient. The area was very clean, had WiFi, a good selection of TV channels and the shower was perfectly acceptable. The kitchen is minimally equipped, however this was not much of an issue for us and there is also a washing machine and dryer which is useful. All in all, we were delighted by our stay at Sol's and couldn't recommend it enough.

  Comments: The property is in Jamaica Queens. It's definitely more of your quiet, residential neighborhood, very appropriate for families since I was traveling with my toddler in tow. Stores and fast food restaurants are within half a mile walking distance. Not far at all. I rented a car so this location was great because there was plenty of parking! It was also the midpoint of JFK Airport and Woodside Queens where I drove to most of the time. If you're looking for a place closer to the city with easy access to subway stations then this property will not serve you well. You'll need to take a bus to subway station. Apartment has its own entrance through the back which is great! On a nice day you can have a picnic outside on the yard or just relax to reset your mind from all the NYC craziness. :-) The property does offer a cozy and warmth feeling. It is also not cluttered with any of the owner's belongings like some Airbnb properties are (Airbnb advises hosts to stow away belongings for safety reasons). The apartment is equipped with a full size bed I believe if I'm not mistaken, free wifi and cable tv. Apartment does not have a full kitchen BUT it does have a full size refrigerator and microwave....AND a washer/dryer! Loved it and used it. We went home with clean clothes and no laundry to wash! I had a late check in and Sol was very accommodating with this. She even assisted me with my luggage and tried to console my crying 3 year old boy to make him feel more comfortable. Her place was clean and roomy for my daughter and I. Washer/dryer/fridge/microwave/coffee and coffee pot/tea/cereal/milk/desert.. Super Clean bedding and extra linens and towels, lotion, shampoo and conditions, body wash...The amenities were endless. Super close to St John's University and Queena Hospital and only 25 min from Manhattan! I would highly recommend Sol's place for your NYC getaway! Thank you Sol!!

Great directions and get location if your visiting St. John's. I recommend renting a car it a bit out of the city Manhattan about 40min subway ride. To be able to utilize your time a car rental would be very beneficial to the explore. St. John's University about 2-3 blocks easy walk. We will be back to stay when visiting campus.

  Comments: My husband and I picked Sol and Izak’s place after reading the reviews and viewing the photos. This was our first air b&b experience and we were hoping very much that it would be as the reviews and the photos. Pros: Location close to our activities (Website hidden by Airbnb) Street parking was fairly easy to find (Website hidden by Airbnb) Neighborhood quiet (Website hidden by Airbnb) Washer & Drye (Website hidden by Airbnb) Sol was kind enough to accommodate us with an early check-in. Cons: Unfortunately we were unable to rest after a long overnight flight because of all the noise from upstairs. All the walking back and forth felt like someone was trampling on our heads. During our five day stay we did not rest properly at all because of the noise from lengthy phone conversations and general activities upstairs. The bed was uncomfortable. Every time one of us moved it squeaked very loudly. There were no nightstands. I slept on the right side and there was no place to put a bottle of water or a box of tissues. I kept hitting my elbow on the shelving unit at the side of the bed. The layout of the apartment was not very convenient. We were unable to watch TV because of the location of the TV. The two lawn type chairs in front of the TV were difficult to sit down on and get out of. The only mirror for getting dressed was in front of the bed. The only table to layout make-up etc was away from the mirror. We had to keep walking back and forth to get dressed. Housekeeping notes: It was a basement apt. Although it was listed as having air-conditioning, there was NO air-conditioning. There was a fan that was adequate but had to be kept on constantly. Bathroom was miniscule. The seal at the bottom of the shower was discolored. The vent in the ceiling of the bathroom was full of dust. The mirror in the bedroom needed repair. The molding at the bottom right of the mirror was broken. The ironing board cover needs replacing. There was a huge burnt hole on the cover. I had to get a t-shirt to cover the hole so that I could iron our clothes. Personal Preferences: I would have liked a bin to put our recyclables. I would have also liked a box of tissues to be available. Air B&B says to remember this is a person’s home not a hotel. While I realize that it is a person’s home, that person, the Air B&B host is utilizing their home as a business, by charging a premium for guests to use their home in lieu of a hotel room. In lieu of paying a premium, the guest should expect to receive certain basic expectations , like an adequate layout, a nightstand, a clean vent in the bathroom, bathroom sealant that is not discolored a comfortable chair to sit on, and a comfortable bed. To be honest I felt rather let down by all the reviews.

It's about 30-45 minutes from JFK via public transportation or maybe a 15-30 minute Uber/Lyft ride. The room was clean and very comfortable with a large flat screen HDTV with premium cable. The bed was comfortable as were the chairs. A microwave and coffee maker were included. The bathroom was fine. It's a very quiet neighborhood so you can definitely have a relaxing evening. I definitely recommend staying at Sol & Izak's place if you're looking for a place in Queens.

The neighborhood is extremely safe with everything you need nearby, and public transport is very accessible and easy to navigate from this location. This place suited all our needs perfectly, and genuinely felt like home away from home. After long days sightseeing and shopping we always looked forward to going “home” to rest at the end of the day. There is literally not a single negative thing to say about the place or the two lovely hosts. I would always receive almost immediate replies to any questions I had via text message, and personally was always greeted with a big smile and warm hug.   Comments: Sol & Izak were such kind hosts. They always checked on us to see if we were okay. They were quick to respond whenever we had questions, and made sure our stay was enjoyable. A few things to note when booking is that Sol & Izak live upstairs so you occasionally hear them walking around and talking, there are only 2 tiny windows so it does get stuffy and hot (especially on hotter days), and the bathroom is on the smaller side so it is a little cramped when you're in there. These things didn't bother us much, but if it will bother you, don't book your stay here. Other than that, it was a pleasure to stay at Sol & Izak's place.

The space is very private in a quiet and safe community, and there are fast food restaurants, convenience stores, drug stores, and gas stations within walking distance. We would recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a homier place than a hotel to stay at. There's also a private garden area outside the unit you are welcome to use. Sol & Izak provide you with some breakfast items; you have the use of a hot plate, microwave, refrigerator, TV, wi-fi, small but full bathroom with shower, sink, medicine cabinet, and toilet, there's a washer and dryer in the unit for your use also. The bed is firm and comfortable and the linens are of good quality.

Our third and oldest daughter was attending a weeklong camp at nearby St John’s so the location was perfect for us. So peaceful. We especially appreciated the laundry in the unit, and the complimentary coffee and breakfast supplies left for us.   Comments: My family (two adults and two young boys) stayed at Sol & Izak's studio, and we were very satisfied with the condition of the studio (pound cake and milk, amenities, cleanness, etc.). Sol & Izak were willing to accommodate our needs, and they were very responsive to our questions. We chose the studio because it was close to my conference site, and later we found that we just needed to take a bus to go to Flushing (it was a nice bus ride) to enjoy Asian foods and goods. My boys felt cozy during our stay, and we really enjoyed staying at Sol & Izak's studio.

  Comments: While I had the chance to meet Izak, I wasn't able to meet Sol. But Sol and Izak still made it comfortable for me for my 9 days staying at their place. They had placed extra towels and bed linens for my stay. I greatly appreciated it. The area felt safe to me and even though I heard sirens a lot because it was near a Hospital, I mostly slept through the night. Whenever I had any issue, Izak would come help me within five minutes. He really helped with my paranoia fear with the windows. I would definitely book again when I have the chance to visit nyc again.

  Comments: My brother and I had an absolutely wonderful time in Sol & Izak’s home! They asked ahead of time if we needed an air mattress set up in addition to the bed. They also provided us with coffee, milk and cereal which was perfect for the mornings. Sol was nice enough to tell us exactly how to get to and from Manhattan, and was quick to respond if we had any questions about the place. The place itself is in a great location, and it was very easy to get to Manhattan on the subway. If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s a nice getaway from the hectic city, this is definitely a great choice!

  Comments: I was very happy with my stay here. The neighborhood was safe and very easily, accessed food grocery and transportation! Sol and Izak were pretty amazing too, they left us with maps and a sight seeing guide. We had an amazing time in the city with quiet evenings in the suburbs!

  Comments: Sol and Izak's place was terrific. It was located close to the bus station with easy access to the city. Their place was nice to come back to after a long day. Very comfortable and homey feeling. Sol was so nice in offering travel tips to us. She also provided snacks and coffee which we really appreciated. I definitely would stay here again!

  Comments: All as described. Nice touches and everything one may need during their stay i.e. a toster, coffee maker, kettle, TV, microwave oven.... It was wonderful to find milk in the fridge and some gooddies. As we arrived late it was so much appreciated. Lovely hosts. We had very good time there. P.S. Perfect location to reach St John's University on foot.

  Comments: My significant other and I stayed at Sol & Izak’s place for a few nights and our overall experience was great. Clean, peaceful, spacious and it had all the necessities. I would recommended this place to anyone who’s looking for a place to stay.

  Comments: Quite neighborhood and the perfect studio basement apartment for one or two people. Has all the amenities you will need while traveling (even a washer and dryer). Close to public transportation or easy access for Uber pick up. Very accommodating host. The place is clean and organized with a private entrance off the back alley way. (Use caution at night if traveling alone it’s kinda dark until flood lights turn on) Kitchen area will accommodate preparation of a small microwave meal or a one-pot skillet meal. Nice size refrigerator and freezer. Bathroom is tiny but you can count on a hot drenching shower. The toilet has low pressure so don’t put toilet paper in it to avoid clogging. The bed is fine for one large/tall adult but not two full sized people. If that’s an issue, Ask host for the air mattress. The host provided milk, cereal, tea and pound cake upon entry which we found very refreshing. I would stay at this place again when visiting New York.
