  Comments: An absolutely wonderful apartment with friendly, helpful hosts. We felt instantly at home in this beautiful apartment (the pics don't do it justice) The kitchen and bathroom seem to have been recently renovated (shower is awesome) and the entire apartment has a very clean and untouched feel. The bed was so comfortable I wish I could have taken it home. The neighbourhood is just that a neighbourhood. A pleasant break from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, however there are lots of hip restaurants, cafes' and shops in very, very close walking distance. The metro stations are close by as well or about $25 or so by cab to Manhattan (depending on where you are going) Janine and Anita are charming hosts. I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone.

  Comments: Janine runs a very comfortable, extremely clean, well supplied apartment in the top floor of her three story house. She was helpful, always available when needed, but otherwise left us to ourselves. It is important to note that while the apartment is completely separate from the rest of the house and takes the entire floor, there is no interior door between the rooms and the stairway. The bed was extremely nice with beautiful sheets. The kitchen was completely functional, though we never used it. I would recommend staying there.

  Comments: Lovely place, we completely felt at home. The apartment is much better than it looks in the pictures. It features a nice decoration and furniture that makes you feel like you’re in your own place. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bathroom was nice and clean but a bit small to be used for more than one person at a time, and the bedroom was very cool with great views of Manhattan. The apartment was always warm and we never felt cold (even with all the snow we had!) Janine is the perfect host. She helped us out with everything we may need at all times. She lent two bikes and provided with a bunch of useful tips about the neighborhood, transport, where to buy, what to do… Also she left food for us the first night when we arrived so late; she had a lot of special details with us. Very convenient location with two subway stations nearby that allow you to go downtown in barely 30 minutes and other destinations really quick. The street is very quiet and the only noise you hear is some airplane noise when they occasionally fly too low above the city, but we didn’t find that disturbing. Brooklyn is a very cool place to stay, it has a lot of places to visit and things to do, and this apartment is very convenient for visiting it on feet. We fully recommend this place to stay :D

  Comments: The apartment was extremely nice. The pictures do not do it justice! The bedroom is spacious with a very comfortable bed and fantastic views of lower Manhattan from the windows. The kitchen is well equipped, lovely modern bathroom with good shower and generally lots of storage space for suitcases and clothes throughout the apartment. The essentials provided are far better than essentials - lovely towels and toiletries etc. During our trip it was very cold but the apartment was always toasty warm! Whilst the apartment is described as the third floor of a house it is private with a lockable door - guests just share a common staircase (like any apartment building). The hosts were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anybody wanting to visit NYC. The neighborhood was great. The main street, 7th Ave, is a vibrant area (without being overbearing) with lots of niche delis, stores, restaurants and bars. We ate on 7th a number of times and weren't disappointed once. The is also lots to do in the locale - Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park and a great Flea Market on Saturdays to name a few. The subway is a 5-10min walk from the apartment and then a quick ride into Manhattan.

  Comments: We had a fantastic stay at Janine and Anita's place in Brooklyn. The apartment was even better than imagined from the description and photos and other reviews; we couldn't have been happier with the place. It was actually quite large and well appointed both with useful items and tasteful decoration. Both Janine and Anita were so welcoming and friendly; when we were late arriving Janine checked in to see if we were ok. My partner was getting over the flu at the time and had come from Switzerland to meet me; Anita brought soup and kleenex up for him the second night. Other than that, we barely saw them and felt like we had a private, magical safe haven in Brooklyn, all to ourselves. A couple notes of interest: previous reviews have mentioned that the unit it open to the internal staircase. This has been changed and there is a new door that has been installed to ensure privacy. Also - the bed and sheets are fabulous. Very comfortable and we slept like babies. The shower is quite luxurious and has great water pressure. Everything is VERY clean, and the place was warm (which is saying a lot since it was in the teens at night in February). Location is excellent; 20 minutes to Manhattan, and plenty of great shops and restaurants and character in Brooklyn to keep you entertained for days. I especially recommend the Saturday Flea Market. Definitely book this place; you won't be sorry.

It's a very short walk from the apartment to major subway lines and a quick 15 minute hop into lower Manhattan .   Comments: I booked Janine's apartment for my elderly parents who came from Japan to see my family in Park Slope. My parents praised the place everyday. They slept well every night in the very quiet and comfortable bedroom. They said the shower in the bathroom give good water amount and pressure. The apartment is shoe-free which is normal in Japan so my parents were able to feel relaxed in the clean apartment. Janine texted me a few times during my parents' stay to check in how they are doing. That was very kind of her. We were lucky to find this nice and cozy apartment one block from my place. I am certain that I will book Janine's apartment for their next visit - that's their request as well. :) Thank you, Janine!

  Comments: We stayed in Janine's apartment for 2 weeks in June and could not be happier with how beautiful, clean and spacious it was. The rooms are comfortable and bright, kitchen and bathroom very well equipped (toaster, large fridge & freezer, shampoos, plenty of big and small towels…), there is a great view to Manhattan skyscrapers... Janine had air condition installed during our stay as it was hot. Wi-Fi connection is excellent and so are the TV services available. We arrived rather late in the evening and Janine waited for us, made us feel welcome and showed us around the apartment. There were maps and magazines with events in the neighborhood and in the city waiting for us on the desk and we were given advice on where to go and which events were worth visiting. Generally Janine stayed out of our way but was happy to chat, help and answer any questions - the best a host can do. She checked in with us every couple of days and even offered to book our airport transport at the end of our stay. Some construction work had to be done in the apartment while we were staying in it and Janine went out of her way to ensure it was done at a time when we were outside so it didn’t disturb us. The location in Brooklyn is excellent and just a quick subway ride from Manhattan (F and G trains run a short walk down the street). The area around the apartment has a nice number of shops and restaurants – it’s lively, but doesn’t get crowded or too loud. We are so happy we chose this accommodation - photos don't do justice to the actual feel of the apartment - it was cherry on the top of our amazing NY experience! We would recommend staying at Janine’s place to anyone and will gladly return the next time we’re in New York.

  Comments: This is the third Air BnB we've used in NYC, and it is far and away the best. We stayed in Janine's place in early Sept., for a week. The apt. exceeded my expectations, and I would heartily give my highest recommendation. Janine greeted us upon arrival, showed us pretty much everything we'd need to know about the apt, and then checked in twice via text during the week. Location is quiet, safe, with amenities in the neighborhood. An excellent little Italian place, Piccoli, is less than two blocks away. The apt. was spacious, very clean, and had a fine kitchen for cooking quick meals to save money; we used it mainly for breakfasts. NYC was roasting hot our first two days there, and this is a third floor walk-up, so it was very hot, but the AC in the back bedroom made it bearable. I almost hate to give such a good review, as I know I'll probably never find this space available when I want to visit NYC in the future, but I have to be truthful. Janine has done a fine job with this space.

  Comments: What a wonderful place to stay in Brooklyn. It was very convenient to subways as well as grocery stores and nice places for a quick bite as well as nice dinning out. All of the people we talked to on the street were very helpful with directions and suggestions of places to visit. We had some bad weather we did not expect and Janine had us covered, umbrellas as well as ponchos for our use, that was great! Janine also had maps and walking tour info available to use which was very helpful planning our stay. Photos cannot capture the feeling of a space and that is true in this case, the apartment was so comfortable, and the views from each room of the city were awesome. All of our friends who visited could not believe what a wonderful space Janine has, we will be back!!

  Comments: Dès notre arrivée l'accueil de Janine fut chaleureux, tout en nous laissant notre espace et notre intimité.Elle fait preuve d'une grande confiance en ses hôtes, ce qui permet de se sentir réellement comme chez soi.A cela vient s'ajouter la localisation, qui est encore un plus, car il y a beaucoup de magasins,de restaurants,un super bar à vin ( même l'un des meilleurs Bagels de NY à moins d'1km de la maison), et des lignes de métro proches.Pour en terminer avec le quartier, il est calme (réveillé le matin par les petits oiseaux) et près de tout, même d'un magnifique parc, qui n'a rien a envier à centrale park( hormis les building bien sur).L'accés à Manhattan est très simple par le métro, et pour se déplacer dans Brooklyn les bus ne manquent pas.L'appartement traversant avec 2 chambres séparées dont l'une donne une magnifique vue sur Manhattan, est un havre de paix, il a du caractère et du cachet.Janine, est de bon conseils, de plus elle nous a permis de découvrir le Chinatown de Brooklyn, de soir au restaurant, et suivant ses conseils, de jour en plein marché notamment aux poissons, et autres crabes et crustacés (à faire (Website hidden by Airbnb) plus elle nous a trouvé un moyen de transport pour rejoindre l'aéroport ce qui nous a permis d'être sereines même le dernier jour. Pour finir, je pense que pour une première expérience en Airbnb, Janine a mis la barre très haut..... She provided me with a PDF document she prepared on the apartment and neighbourhood. Janine met me on arrival, walked me through the apartment and was full of great suggestions to make the most of my stay. The apartment was amazing, the space, the cleanliness and the location were perfect and it was a peaceful yet vibrant neighbourhood! Locally Café Grumpy and Bagel Hole are a must for any future visitors! This was without doubt a first class airbnb experience and Janine is an exemplary host who should coach other hosts on how it should be done! The photos in the advert can not show the coziness and comfort of the apartment . In addition, the unit was very clean and is equipped with all the necessities . Janine was a very good host . She has us in advance provided with lots of information , so that the check-in was very easy . Also during our stay she was always accessible and has helped us quickly and very hard even in an emergency . She is just a very nice person. We enjoyed our stay with Janine here and would come back anytime . Finally, we can mention that the area Park Slope is beautiful , and exactly the right thing to unwind after a stressful day NYC . The apartment and Park Slope are very easy to reach with the Metro.

  Comments: L'appartamento è molto bello, curato e pulito. Lo abbiamo trovato comodo e nello stesso tempo esteticamente piacevole per trascorrerci del tempo: la tipica casa in brownstones con finestre ad abbaino e parquet antico. Janine inoltre è un host molto attenta e disponibile alle esigenze dei visitatori. Siamo rimasti molto contenti e sicuramente per un futuro viaggio a NY sceglieremo nuovamente questa struttura per il soggiorno. Brooklyn è fantastica, da veri newyorkesi: abbiamo apprezzato molto i locali della zona sia per mangiare/bere qualcosa si per fare spese. Arrivare sull'isola di Manhattan è facile e veloce con la metro. Ottimo!

  Comments: Die Wohnung ist noch schöner als beschrieben, sie liegt in einem sehr entspannten Teil von Brooklyn in einem typischen brownstone-house. Die Umgebung ist ruhig mit vielen kleinen Läden und sehr guten Restaurants. Nach Manhattan gibt es eine direkte U-Bahn-Verbindung. Die Gastgeberin, die auch im Haus wohnt, hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen und uns bei Bedarf auch tatkräftig unterstützt. Wir haben dort eine tolle Zeit verbracht und würden die Wohnung jederzeit wieder mieten.

Pictures don't do it justice - is beautifully restored and extremely well presented. Also very quiet which was important for me. Tourist info provided for local sites and Manhattan which was very useful (including info on local supermarkets and car service, the latter was prompt and good value for money). Location is wonderful with two subways close by and not long into Manhattan if you need. Local area has a great array of restaurants and buses up to shopping areas if needed. While I've stayed in Manhatten on previous trips, this was an alternative I will take up again. A huge thank you Janine for making my two weeks such a relaxing and enjoyable time in your apartment!!!

The bedroom was beautiful and the entire apartment incredibly comfortable. The location is amazing, two blocks from the F train and about three to the R, so you are very close to Manhattan but also in one of Brooklyn 's nicest neighborhoods.   Comments: El departamento de Janine es excelente para quien quiera pasar unas estupendas vacaciones en NY, ubicado en un pintoresco, tranquilo y tradicional barrio, en donde tendrán una variada propuesta gastronómica (Thai, Japonesa, Mexicana, China, Norteamericana y aún más) muchos mercados de diferentes rubros en el barrio, así como también un cercano acceso al metro (para estar en minutos en Manhattan) y al hermoso Prospect Park. El departamento es íntimo y de primera categoría, la cocina y el baño completos e inmejorables, súper limpios ambos, las habitaciones y las camas comodisimas! Janine es súper cordial y atenta, no duden en pedirle recomendaciones de a dónde ir! The Park Slope neighborhood has tons of amazing restaurants and cafes, but if you want to go to Manhattan, Queens, or North Brooklyn, the F & G trains are a quick and easy walk down 7th Ave. Janine was respectful of my privacy, but quick to respond to messages and questions. Ebenso viele Restaurants, gut sortierte kleine Supermarkte und wer es liebt eins Starbucks direkt neben dem Zugang zur Subway :-) . Das Apartment ist sehr schön aufgeteilt. Es ist alles da um einen den Aufenthalt angenehm zu machen und es ist sehr sauber !!! Hab ich so bisher noch nicht einmal in einen 4-Sterne Hotel erlebt. Janine ist eine tolle Gastgeberin.

  Comments: It was our first visit in the USA and Janine gave us the opportunity to stay at her lovely place in Brooklyn. We always got the informations we need immediately, so don't bother to write her :). From JFK its about 55€ with an Uber right to the doors. There are lots of restaurants nearby Janines house. So there was no problem to have breakfast every day at another place. Or dinner in the evening. It takes about 5-10 minutes to the metro station. From there maybe 10 minutes and you are in Manhattan. So no problems at all in terms of commuting. The apartment is as cozy and nice as it is described. There is everything you need for your stay. Even if you want to cook, it has a fully equipped kitchen. All in all I just can highly recommend Janines place for your NYC visit. Its close to Manhattan, but not in the middle of the rush. Perfect

  Comments: The space is a quiet, comfortably furnished, third floor apartment with two spacious bedrooms (queen beds with duvets and many pillows), and an inviting sitting room. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower and a contemporary toilet. The hardwood floors are polished and are the main reason for the no shoes policy. Those floors are so beautiful, we didn't mind wearing slippers. This could be the cleanest Airbnb we have ever stayed in. The location is perfect for enjoying Park Slope and the rest of NYC. We were just a few blocks from the F train and the busses are half a block away. We love 7th Avenue. It's the ideal walkable neighborhood. We quickly established a favorite cafe from the many we could course from. We would definately book this place again.
