  Comments: Spacious house with wonderful natural lighting and windows/doors everywhere to let in the fresh Hawaii breeze. This was my first trip to Hawaii and I am glad I was able to experience the peace and quiet this listing provided for me. Anderson was very supportive and prompt in answering all of my questions and providing assistance during my stay and his wife was also a truly lovely, gracious host. Great experience, appreciate it and would stay again if I returned. Private, laid back atmosphere, juicer in kitchen, comfortable beds... No complaints here :) - Thanks again guys!

  Comments: Andersons house was perfect for our large family! Sunset Beach was a 5 min walk from the house, and our favorite beach Waimea Bay was a short drive away! We loved the beautiful lush vegitation on the property as well! We would definitely stay there again ! Thanks!

  Comments: The house was in a great location and very comfortable. It was true to the description on airbnb and when we had a problem it was fixed quickly. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. Our only complaint would be the ants that were pervasive in the bathrooms and kitchen.

  Comments: This place is awesome. If you like a wide open yard in a beautiful country area, this is it. Take an easy hike to a waterfall in Waimea Valley (don't forget your swimsuit!). Or take your little ones to Pūpūkea Beach Park and walk around in a lagoon full of interesting fish. There's also the Turtle Bay Resort very close by for a ton of other stuff to do. Oh and don't forget Ted's Bakery. Just like it says in the listing -- you can walk right there! It's just up the road. More chocolate haupia pie, please. Anderson was right on site to check us in and was a great host -- super responsive when you've got questions, hands off when you're doing your own thing. He also has kids of his own and left out some toys in a play area for our little ones to have a ball with. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

  Comments: Sensacional! Passamos uma semana em Sunset, nessa casa que é uma delícia. Tudo muito limpo, espaçoso, camas maravilhosas, toalhas e lençóis super bons. A localização não poderia ser melhor, é só atravessar a estrada caminhar uns 3 minutos e já estamos na praia! Usamos muito as bicicletas, até para ir ao super, pois era mais gostoso. A ciclovia passa na frente da casa e é muito panorâmica! Todos os utensílios domésticos eram muito bons. A sala e a varanda são muito legais

  Comments: We so loved staying here! It really is only steps to Sunset Beach and the fruit trees and chickens, coupled with the wonderful evening breezes make this a wonderful natural retreat. There was plenty of room for us all - and everything was clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated how kid friendly this property is. There were kids' dishes in the cupboard and a designated little play area stocked with toys. Traveling with a two year old can be challenging and Sunset Beach Lodge Retreat made it so easy! Thank you, Anderson - if you will have us, we will be back.

  Comments: The Sunset Beach Lodge Retreat was as described, our stay was great and there was a Surf competition just a few minutes walk away. The only disclaimer that could have been added was that toilet paper was not allowed to be flushed down the toilet, as some of the guests were a bit uncomfortable with that.

  Comments: Anderson's property is the perfect house when you want to be away from the crowded scene. It is the perfect beach house with the ocean just a few minutes away by walking. Within a radius of 2-4 miles you have a wide selection of food trucks and grocery store to keep you secure with food. It is a great location if you are planning a trip that includes visiting the dole plantation, Polynesian center, Giovanni shrimp truck and north shore beach!

  Comments: This place was great! My husband and I ended up here after arriving in Waikiki and quickly realizing that Waikiki was not the Hawaii experience we were looking for. It was great that Anderson was able to get the place ready for us on such short notice. The place was big, open, airy, clean. Location was great, just a short walk to Sunset beach, near a bike path that goes all the way to the grocery store and food trucks down the road. We would definitely stay here again!

  Comments: Anderson's place is fantastic! Extremely short walk from the beach, next door to Ted's Bakery, and also a spacious, clean house with a lot of outdoor space. This was a great hub for visiting Haleiwa and Waimea Bay.

  Comments: We loved our relaxing stay at this cute and comfortable property and hanging out at the beaches nearby with the kids! The home was neat and comfortable just as shown in the pictures. The proximity to food trucks and a well equipped kitchen helped us fix quick meals. The kids (three toddlers) esp loved the neat little play area. We really appreciated having the coffee maker, the blender and the washer dryer - they really came in handy. We reported a stuck door lock and Anderson was very prompt to swing by and take care of it. All in all this was a perfect base for our Oahu trip with three toddlers eager to hit the beaches!!

  Comments: Anderson's has a nice home that is close to the beach. My friends and I arrived late in the day and Anderson met us downstairs. The house is spacious, with two bathrooms, which was very nice since I was sharing with 2 men & 2 boys. Its only a few minutes walk to the beach, Ted's bakery and you can lounge in the hammock on the lanai. The downside; my friend and his son were sharing a room which had bedbugs. We called Anderson first thing in the AM and he said he would bring over a new mattress, mattress protector and pillows. He did replace the mattress & pillows. He apologised for the bedbugs, we appreciated that he came out took care of the mattress, but my friend and his son were covered with bites, which put a damper on their trip. They also did not want to sleep in the room again and we had 3 more nights. Another downside was the bottom half of the house was having repairs and the workers shut the water off in the house. We only found out when we went to take a shower after a day at the beach. They did their best getting the water back on, but it took awhile and we ended up being late for a show in Waikiki. Anderson and his family were very nice, he even said that we could have our music a little loud because he was working on soundproofing his home, its just with the bedbugs, I feel a discount could have been offered. A localização é excepcional, em frente à praia de Sunset e logo ao lado da Ted's Bakery. Fomos recebidos gentilmente com uma caixa de chocolates havaianos, as instruções para o check-in foram claras e tudo correu como o planejado. A casa conta com uma infraestrutura ótima, com utensílios de cozinha, material de limpeza, lavanderia, bicicletas, pranchas de sue e até mesmo bermudas de praia e material de mergulho. Não poderíamos ter ficado em um local melhor no North Shore.

  Comments: Great spot for a smaller group. Walkable to Sunset beach and nearby groceries, food trucks, other beaches, and walking/running paths. We had 7 adults and it was a bit of a tighter squeeze for us only because it rained most of our trip which kept us inside more. Anderson was really great on communication and help as needed!

  Comments: We really enjoyed our stay at Anderson’s place. Great location, only a few minutes walk to the beach for the most beautiful sunsets. A 5 minute drive to the local food land to stock up on supplies which is also right by some of the best food trucks, specifically the Pupukea grill. Must try! The roosters were slightly annoying being quite loud throughout the night but not so bad once the windows were closed. Large living area and communal space with a well stocked kitchen. Thanks for a great time!

They were great hosts and the accommodations were fantastic! Perfect place to stay and if we visit again this will be the place we stay ;)!! I

  Comments: A very authentic north shore experience. Loved the framed Eddie Aikau Quicksilver Surf Comp posters ...and very comfy lounge area. The lanai with hammockwas awesome and the house is very well kept and clean as a whistle. Lots of Towels very fluffy ...and smelled wonderful. There were heaps of beach towels too. Kitchen good plenty of crockery and cutlery but missing a kettle and a toaster. The washing machine and dryer are great: new and industrial sized and they are downstairs in a room at back of house. Laundry is shared with downstairs unit. BYO laundry powder and pegs. Also not many mozzies ...but we got a few bites and I'd suggest bring personal insect repellent. Another hint: the house is upstairs ...and it's a fairly steep flight of stairs so wouldn't be suitable for people who couldn't manage these We loved this area of the North Shore. And we thought this airBnb is in an absolutely amazing location! The beautiful golden sand beach just across the road ...and the most amazing breakfasts at Ted's Bakery (2 minute walk). Overall this holiday accommodation far exceeded our expectations

  Comments: Very spacious which is very rare in Hawaii let alone in the North Shore. You are literally a walking distance from the famous Ted’s Bakery. You are right across from Pipeline, Sunset and tons of beaches. Great location and great host. Definitely recommend this place and would to stay here again.

  Comments: The location of this home is superb. It is located on the inner side (not ocean side) of Kamehameha Highway. However, a quick cross of the highway at the driveway and a 3-5 min. walk and you are at Sunset Beach. You cannot see (or hear) the ocean from the house but it is hard to be the location. Ted’s Bakery is just down the highway, about a 4 min. walk as well. We enjoyed numerous meals there and the food is top quality! Nice to have that so close. We stayed on the top level of the house. It was nice to have a personal bedroom for each of the three of us. We definitely appreciated the space. Amenities are basic but what we needed. Food cannot be left out as the ants will come. There is no A/C. It is best to not be in the house from say noon till sundown as it will be quite hot. However, opening the windows and bringing in the evening air is sufficient (we stayed the first week of November.) The occasional rain showers also helped to mediate the heat inside. Roosters begin their morning chatter around 4:30 am. Earplugs are a must if you are used to a more quiet sleeping environment. We had a few leaks in the roof on a day when the rains were heavier. We just moved the sofa out of the drip line and all was fine. We drove a lot around the island and this home was a great starting place for our day trips. Would definitely recommend this home for a stay in the North Shore.

  Comments: For the price, you can't get much better! Anderson was very responsive and his place was clean and ready to go for our family. He knew we were traveling with our 8 month old and had a crib set up on arrival. His place is very central and ideal if your into surfing, exploring, chilling and local eats. Will definitely come back :)

  Comments: This place is huge! There is plenty of room for everyone. It’s clean but there were a couple of items of concern. There were a lot of small stains on the couch. Don’t know if it’s people being careless with drinks or what, but nothing a slip cover couldn’t fix. We think the residence is on septic because there are signs in the bathrooms asking not to flush toilet paper, which seemed odd. I’m used to this in 3rd world countries, but not Hawaii. At first I chalked it up to the house being on the North Shore, but then we had guests over that are locals and they even commented on the signs and found it strange. This is on the top floor of a house and I think the bottom floor is also an AirBnB along with another home on the property. The first night the guests downstairs, some young men, were being very loud. I wasn’t sure if they were the permanent residents so I didn’t complain to the host. Lastly, even though the house is setback from the road, since you have to leave the windows open for ventilation you will hear cars driving by all night. BUT the house is a 5 minute walk from Sunset Beach. There is a Foodland 2.3 miles away and Ted’s Bakery is about 100 yards away. It’s a GREAT location! And again it’s very roomy!!
