  Comments: Carolina is the friendliest host in the world. Although I didn't meet her in person , she was very friendly through messages. She replied quickly to any questions I had. The apartment is in the PERFECT location. Near the beach, right next door to grocery store, restaurants , shops, metro, bus. Everything you need in one place. If you are looking to go to Rio and experience it for the first time , this is the perfect place. If you already know rio and are just visiting again, this is the perfect place. The apartment has AC, wifi works well without any problems and also has a pool and garage. The garage is very tight but obviously not Carolina's fault. The apartment is clean and well kept. We stayed 8 days comfortably and I didn't even want to leave. Highly recommend. Thank you Carolina! Happy holidays to you and your family. Great work! Will be coming back.

  Comments: I had a wonderful time staying in this apartment. It could not be located better (by the beach, grocery, metro, bars, restaurants, etc). I very much appreciated the 24 hour security and how patient the staff was when dealing with me not being able to speak Portuguese. I love the hammock on the balcony. Carolina was very accommodating and let me have a early check-in, as well as being fast to respond to any messages I sent to her. She had a lot of wonderful suggestions for local places to go. I would definitely stay here again!

  Comments: Carolina was a great host. Although we didn't get a chance to meet, the communication before and during our booking was very easy and she was very helpful. The location is perfectly located. Close to restaurants and especially close to the beach! The apartment itself is as described and was convenient for what we needed. The stove broken while we were there and they came to fix it in a very short turnaround. We really appreciated that. The pool and shower that is in the building is a plus if you need to check out and have a later flight to catch in the day. Definitely recommend and will stay again if we come back to Rio.   Comments: Carolina nos dejó recomendaciones de lugares y se mostró disponible ella y su colaboradora en toda la estadia (así como desde la primera consulta) preguntándonos si todo marchaba bien. Además, el edificio cuenta con porteria 24hs y estan disponibles también para ayudar y comunicar a Carolina.Tuvimos uno con la cocina y la luz de la cocina quemada y enseguida lo resolvieron. El departamento es como se muestra en las fotos, ubicación excelente a una cuadra de la playa de Ipanema y lleno de restaurantes y bares en el barrio además de muchas lineas de omnibus y el subte. Llegamos a las 10 de la mañana y tal como dijeron fueron super flexibles y como el departamento estaba vacío pudimos entrar. Lo mismo para el check out. Pero ademas en el edificio pueden guardar sus valijas y hay vestuarios y baños super limpios y la piscina que pueden usar del primer al último dia. Super recomendado!

  Comments: Estuvimos dos semanas en el departamento con mi familia (somos 4), todo perfecto al entrar, hasta tuvieron el detalle de dejarnos una botella de vino :) El departamento es tal cual el anuncio, super limpio, cómodo, te cambian sabanas y toallas. La ubicación es perfecta, a una cuadra de la playa, a media cuadra de un supermercado grande, y en frente a la Plaza donde pasan varios colectivos y esta el subte así que nos movimos en transporte público todo el tiempo. Yo llegue un domingo y el autobus del aeropuerto (Premuim) me dejo justo en la plaza frente al departamento, ideal! Los recepcionistas del edificio muy amables, estan las 24hs. Con Carolina hable durante la estadia y siempre me pregunto si estaba todo en orden o si necesitabamos algo. Si volvemos a Rio definitivamente volveriamos a ese depto y lo voy a recomendar a conocidos que viajen.

El lugar muy céntrico a una cuadra de Ipanema en un lugar seguro y tranquilo, cerca de bares y restaurantes. A pesar que no vimos a Caro siempre estuvo disponible ella, las personas en recepción y su contacto en Rio.

  Comments: Great communication before arrival and after arrival by email but people on door at apartment dont speak english and we couldnt contact anyone when i arrived. This was not a problem though and I got in to the apartment quickly. The place is nice and clean and just like the photos. Great location. I stated three people were staying but only received two towels. This was fixed after a couple of days though.

  Comments: If you are looking for a very clean and functional apartment in a location near to the beach, restaurants, the Hippie Fair, and the metro and bus stations, you cannot possibly find a better one that this apartment. It is exactly as described online and as shown in the photographs. I have rented several apartments in the Ipanema area and this was by far the best one with the greatest location. It is within a few steps of all public transportation and a myriad of great and reasonably priced restaurants. Best of all, the owner, Carolina, is extraordinarily gracious and responsive. Any small issue will be resolved to your satisfaction immediately. I already have rebooked for next year at this time. The only mistake you could make with this apartment is not renting it if you want a place in Ipanema for 2 or 3 people It has a queen size bed in the bedroom and a sofa that pulls out into a separate bed in the living room. Most importantly for someone like me, the wifi is particular fast and strong and always working. You can walk to the beach in less than three minutes. There is a supermarket about 200 meters away. The Hippie Fair in General Osorio Square is directly across the street. But there is absolutely no street noise as the apartment faces towards the sea and not the Square. There is no security concern because the apartment is in a condominium building with a reception desk that is staffed 24 hours per day. And while none of these folks speaks one word of English, they try their best to be of assistance in the rare situation where you might need something. In addition, this apartment offers the unique plus of having daily maid service during the weekdays. These people are extremely nice and efficient. They clean the bathroom, throw out the garbage, and mop the floors and make the bed. A really nice convenience! Trust me, if you stay here you will love it.

  Comments: The pictures that are posted do not do the place justice. The apartment was much better looking and roomy than anticipated. We were also surprised to find a bottle of wine with two wine glasses to greet us. Very nice touch. The apartment is located at a very good spot in the city. Close to everything including public transportation. We really felt safe and secure.

  Comments: I really loved the place! The location is amazing, in front of one of Ipanema's main squares, which is also where a metro station is located and many buses stop there. A block away from Ipanema beach. The apartment is nice and comfortable, and it has its own balcony. Just a short walk away from Copacabana. There are a few restaurants and bars right there in Praca General Osorio and the supermarket is just 1 block away. The people at the front desk are wonderful and Carolina is very accomodating, she even let us do a late check-out which was very convenient to us since we had late flights.

  Comments: La anfitriona fue siempre muy solícita en responder a todas nuestras inquietudes antes y durante la estadía. La ubicación es inmejorable en el centro neurálgico de Ipanema, y a pasos a pie de Copacabana, pero tranquilo ya que da hacia la parte trasera que da a la playa. El apartamento es tal cual se ve en las fotos, con limpieza diaria incluida si uno quiere, recepción las 24 horas, pileta en el edificio, contando con un placentero balcón que da a ella y con vista al mar que baña la playa de Ipanema. Tiene una hamaca paraguaya colgada allí muy bienvenida. Además de lo descripto y lo que se ve en las fotos, cuenta con un segundo A/C en el dormitorio y dos sillas plegables más un parasol para playa! Muy útiles! El departamento es muy cómodo, completo, aunque algo justo si es para cuatro huéspedes como fue mi caso: solo se advierte la falta de una cuarta silla o banco que sería lo ideal! Igualmente, la evaluación fundada en la relación calidad/precio es ampliamente favorable. Volvería sin dudas

  Comments: I had the pleasure of staying in 2 of Carolina's apartments, one on the 8th floor and one on the 5th. Both have sea views. The location is incredible: one block from the sea, a few minutes from the lake, metro 2mins away, a lovely park across the streets which has 2 markets a week, shops, bars and restaurants all nearby. The apartments are comfortable and homely; well maintained.

  Comments: Minha mãe passou quase duas semanas e ficou impressionada. O apartamento é muito bonito, além de totalmente equipado e com limpeza diária.   Comments: Carolina's place was great! Very close to the beach, and though there is not s beach view, you can see part of the ocean and islands off shore from the balcony in the back! It is also extremely convenient to public transportation. The plaza where the famous Hippie Faire happens is right accross from the building, but you are not woken up by street or faire noise because the apartment faces the back. The bed is queen size and comfortable, and we are so picky about beds and have had trips ruined by bad beds. Both Carolina and Dandara were very helpful with tips about getting around, and we had some very serious business to take care of while here, so that was criticsl information to have from someone who lives here.   Comments: The location is quite perfect. Markets, drugstores, restaurants, metro...all conveniently located. The place is very clean and kept so by daily cleaning service (when you leave during the day). The property itself (pool included) is also well maintained. There is someone at the front 24/7 to leave or obtain your keys during your comings/goings. The Wifi worked well (I used it for work & it was excellent). The Gym is small, but has a treadmill, bike, elliptical, weight machine and free weights to keep you occupied. A little deck w a lovely hammock to cool down in...all in all this place is very well thought out. Obrigada!

El departamento tiene una ubicación inmejorable, a 1 cuadra y media de la playa y enfrente al subte, está cerca de algunos bares y lugares para comer al paso. El depto impecable, entran 3 personas cómodas y 4 personas muy justas, más allá de eso todo super bien.

La dueña del apartamento promueve el intercambio de libros, de haberlo sabido de antemano, seguro llevaba uno.

  Comments: This was absolutely the worst Airbnb I have ever experienced -- it was a complete horror story. As someone who has stayed at many Airbnbs, all over the world, without any issues, and as a former Airbnb Superhost, I would strongly discourage people from staying here unless significant remediations are made. Even though there are many positive reviews, it's just not worth the risk. - Security issues. A friend, who could have been anyone, walked up to the building's front desk, said the apartment number (without providing my or his name), and was handed my apartment key, no questions asked. The front desk did not ask for ID or try to contact me. When I told the host about this incident, she responded by suggesting I was lying. It was extremely concerning and uncomfortable, especially given the crime in Rio. - Safety issues. The elevator broke down while I was inside it (coincidentally, only hours before midnight on New Year's Eve). We called for help using the in-phone elevator only to be connected with the front desk staff that was unable to provide any comprehensible instructions for how to exit. This was not a language issue; they just couldn’t say anything other than “a call was made to the elevator company.” After several minutes, I was able to figure out, without their help, how to open a manual latch hidden above the door and jump up to safety (elevator was stuck mid-floor). Throughout my stay, one of the two elevators was often out of service. I have photos that show this. After my stay, rather than offer any refund, the host complained about needing to replace the elevator phone, which was broken out of panic, but not by me, but by someone else in the broken elevator during the incident (there is video evidence of this). - Water issues. Only two of us were staying at the Airbnb, yet we regularly ran out of hot water when taking showers. The host responded by saying, since it's hot in Rio, people don't take showers with hot water.” This is not only false (friends staying at other Airbnbs had hot water just fine), but also totally unacceptable for an Airbnb at this price. - AC issues. The bedroom air conditioner does not properly modulate temperature, so it is either extremely cold or extremely hot (despite changing the temperature on the remote control). When I told the host about this issue, she responded just by saying the AC was new and that couldn’t be the case. - Linen issues. Several linens were soiled when I arrived. The mattress cover had rips and stains, the mattress was dirty, and there were no pillow protectors. I have photos that show this. When I told the host, she responded by telling me I was lying and that I caused these problems. - Other minor nuisances (that I normally wouldn’t even bother to mention, and would still give 5 stars in spite of, but will note in the context of the other above problems): Electrical issues - multiple outlets did not work properly. The hair dryer broke after 10 seconds of use. Wi-fi went down during my stay. Given all of the other major issues and the rude and unhelpful responses from the host, I did not even bother bringing these other issues to her attention. - Host. It should now go without saying that the host was both rude and unhelpful. Rather than offer any level of refund, apologize, or even just offer helpful solutions, the host generally responded to my concerns by claiming I was lying. I strongly discourage you from staying here. There are other Airbnbs in the area that are safer and have significantly better value. Again, it's just not worth the risk.
