  Comments: I visited New York for four days with a friend mid-August. We only met Anthony briefly as he showed us the apartment and handed off the key, and we really did not see that much of anyone else in the apartment during our stay. The apartment was nicely located, and we were both very pleased with our stay, especially considering the low price. The bathroom could probably have been more thouroughly cleaned, but other than that our bedroom was clean and it was spacious with plenty of room for two people.

  Comments: Anthony is friendly, easygoing and you can come and go as you please. The building seems older but the room was big and bathroom was clean. It is in older shape but the price is inexpensive and if you are traveling by yourself or as a couple, this place can be recommended. The view was nice, AC little noisy but during summer keeping the window open is fine. Subway close by or you can literally walk to anywhere.

  Comments: Staying at Anthony's was just wonderful. The area is ideal with convenience stores and chemists right down the street. The neighborhood is quintessentially NYC which is what anyone would want. So many restaurants in the area for any foodies like me out there. Also there are always an abundance of cabs in the area which made my transportation easy. And if you don't want to cab around, the subway is a 4-5 minute walk away which is nothing in the city. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. The air conditioning in the room was great especially since it was quite warm during the week we stayed. The addition of the small fridge was an awesome plus too. The closet in the room was great, and the dresser had more than enough room for all of our clothes. The room also gets awesome sun during the day, and at night,the lights from midtown buildings light up the sky and are visible if you open up the blinds. Anthony was a great host. The communication was fluid and any question we had, Anthony had an answer for. Definitely had an amazing stay. Thank you Anthony for everything!

  Comments: Anthony was very accommodating even though we had to change our arrival time a few times. The room is clean and the bed is super comfortable! The apt is in a good location and we will def stay here the next time we're in NYC!

  Comments: I stayed with Anthony for a little over 2 weeks. Anthony came out to meet us and show us around the apartment. The apartment is lovely, and the room is quite spacious! Anthony is friendly, however we did not interact much as I was mostly out of the apartment during the day. The apartment is inhabited by Anthony and other tenants, however we rarely saw them at all so it felt very much as though there was no one home a lot of the time. The location is also great, just a short walk from the subway and around 10 minute walk from the UN. A great place, I would certainly recommend this to other travelers looking to see NYC!

  Comments: I stayed at Anthony's place for 4days w/ my sister. It is located in a quite town and not that far from Times Square area. Room was exactly same with photos and clean and comfy. Anthony was really nice and kindly gave me enough information when I asked various things. I would stay here again if I visit in New York.

  Comments: Anthony was very nice. We arrived very early and we asked him what we should do with our luggage because we wanted to go sightseeing till we were able to go to our room. He offered to take care of them and leave them in his car. When we arrived our suitcases were already up in our room. We didn't see much of Anthony but he told us to take the train to Newark Airport because it's much cheaper. The room was big (for New York) and very clean. The sheets were very neat. Some of the towels had stains on them but they were washed and cleaned. There even was a little fridge which we didn't use. There were lots of channels on the TV. The wifi was awesome. There were two bathrooms, we only used his bathroom. The bathroom was old (like always in New York) but it was very clean, which I liked. You can not open the "whole" window (picture), so it can get very hot. You could use the aircondition though. You can see the Chrysler Building from the room if you look left. The apartment building was very nice. There are a lot of shops and little restaurants in the neiborhood. I felt very safe in the area. A Starbucks is a block away. The Metro station is 3 blocks away (~7min walk) and it takes only 2 station to get to grand central or union square. The value-for-money ratio is very good for New York.

  Comments: I need to go to the airport early in the morning and Anthony is very kind to brief me varied ways to JFK airport from his house on both time consumed and cost- metro, bus, taxi and blue van, to let me choose the most suitable and convenient way :)) That is very helpful!   Comments: Chambre équivalente à ce que l ' on peut voir sur les photos, Pour nous nous avons un avis partagé sur le séjour. Le bon côté l emplacement du logement proche de pas mal d endroit à voir à New York. Le moins côté, les poils dans la salle de bain, les mouchoirs plein de sang à vu. Nous avions choisi une chambre chez l habitant afin de pouvoir échanger discuter le soir mais a priori antony est une personne très occupée.

  Comments: Nice room on 16th floor with a beautiful view over Empire State building. There was some noise from the trafic not much but you Could hear it all day also at Night . The lock to the door was not ok, you could easy open it with a nail from outside. The appartment was ok but a bit old. There was no lock on the door to the bathroom. The neighborhood was a bit boring with few bars, restaurant and supermarket. There was 500 m to the subway and 30 min walk to Penn station. So the location is ok. The host was very helpfull. We only saw him a couple times even though he has a room next door. In total a good place to stay if you only need a place to sleep.

  Comments: El cuarto es muy amplio tal cual lo menciona el aviso, tiene una vista hermosa del Empire States y es muy cálido todo el edificio teniendo en cuenta las temperaturas que había en NY para la fecha que fuímos. Anthony fue muy amable en todo momento, ya sea cuando nos contactamos como cuando teníamos algún consulta durante la estadía. Lo veíamos poco, pero nos manejábamos casi siempre por SMS. Había otros roomates pero ellos y Anthony fueron muy respetuosos de la privacidad nuestra en todo momento, casi no los veíamos. La zona es buena y segura, aunque el subte esta un poco lejos ya que es a 3 cuadras largas (las que son de E a O, que son 3 veces mas largas que las que corren de N a S en Manhattan), por ende por las noches y por el frío siempre volvíamos en taxi, pero para una época mejor (verano), realmente las 3 cuadras largas no son un gran problema. Hay mucha oferta de restaurantes por la zona. El departamento cuenta con cable e internet de rápido acceso, y el cuarto tenia un refrigerador que funcionaba muy bien. Ademas y dado que el cuarto era grande, teníamos una mesa y 2 sillas como para poder comer ahí inclusive, y ésto fue muy bueno también. La limpieza del apartamento en general era buena así como la del baño, y Anthony nos recibió con toallones, toallas y un juego de cama limpio. Impecable. Inclusive Anthony fue muy flexible con nuestro horario de salida, ya que el ultimo día necesitábamos quedarnos y hacer late check-out y dado que no tenia otra reserva, nos permitió quedarnos sin costo adicional. Realmente volvería a hospedarme aquí y lo recomiendo.

  Comments: anthoni was friendly, the room looks exactly like the pictures, clean sheets and towels, so it allowed us to use their coffee maker, he pay us a cell phone to communicate. I highly recommend everything was perfect!

  Comments: Anthony was really nice. He met me downstairs and gave me some great tips on places to go around the city. He gave me a key and told me that he didn't have a curfew, which was nice since I was going to a show in Downtown. The room and bathroom were clean and looked just like the photos. Also, the room has a great view if you look out the side and includes a mini fridge. The bed was comfortable enough, and the radiant heat keep me plenty warm. The bathroom was a decent size with a large tub/shower and plenty of hot water. :) The neighborhood is great! The place is located near a metro stop, Empire State building and tons of restaurants/bars including Joey Pepperoni's Pizza, Les Halles and Stumptown Coffee. Check out was informal (I just gave him back his key). Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend him for single travelers visiting over a weekend.

  Comments: He was very nice host. He replied my message so quick, so communication was very smooth. The room was exactly same as the picture. He also placed one more airbed for my family since we were three. There was a small freezer, tv and heater which was working very well. The house was really nice apt and it was located in the center of city. We were able to go everywhere in the city in 20minutes even by walk. I will definitely stay Anthony's place again if I come back to NY!

  Comments: Mi estadía fue buena, la habitación es tal cual se describe en el anuncio, amplia, limpia, con calefacción y toallas disponibles. El anfitrión nos recibió bien y después no tuvimos mayor contacto con él durante el resto del hospedaje. El televisor no funcionó, le avisé al anfitrión, quiso resolverlo pero la realidad es que no coincidían nuestros horarios. El barrio es muy lindo y muy cercano a la 5ta avenida y al Empirte State, lo cual nos permitió movernos a pie, ir y volver sin problemas al midtown; muy buena ubicación. Buena conectividad wifi durante los 8 días. Lo que faltó es una buena limpieza tanto en el baño como en la cocina; ambos espacios son comunes para todos los habitantes del departamento. El anuncio muestra una cocina con un comedor y un balcón a la calle que nunca vimos. Tuvimos sólo 1 juego de llaves para las 2, lo que nos obligaba a irnos y volver juntas si o si. El anfitrión no reveló la dirección exacta del departamento, tuvimos que encontrarnos en una esquina cercana al edificio.

  Comments: Anthony texted with where we could meet him and how we could get there for best at the time we arrived. He clarified his house rules when we arrived and showed us the room and bathrooms they were spacious and clean. The view every evening to see the empire state building change colour was great. The neighbourhood was good for us to walk everywhere up to Central Park or down to Battery Park there were local supermarket close and several local other food shops. We enjoyed are stay here thanks Carol and family.

  Comments: I was pretty disappointed with my air bnb experience after reading all the positive reviews on here. I've only used air bnb one other time, and that was in Chicago, but the experience was completely different. I was scheduled to arrive Friday night at 11:30 pm and Anthony had said he would be available to give me the keys, etc. He also asked for my flight information, to know if my flight would arrive early or not. Then, Friday afternoon, he emails me and says that he has to drop something off for work between 10:30-11 and won't be home for midnight. He told me I could wait in a dunking donuts a few blocks away. (clearly,. an exciting nyc spot I was dying to go to.) I told him I had plans with friends at midnight and asked if either I could get the keys from a doorman or a friend of min could pick them up earlier. He told me doorman in NYC didn't do that (which is not true - I have stayed with many friends previously in Manhattan and their door mans have either given my keys or let me knot their apartments) and that I could carry my stuff around with me and check in later than midnight if I wanted to stay out with my friends because he planned to stay up a little later. 1. What kind of job gives a few hours notice that you need to "drop something off" at that hour on a Friday? It made me feel very unsafe. 2. It would have been nice to know that I would need to wait earlier than the day of arrival. 3. My flight arrived early (which Anthony should have known since he told me he would tack my flight) and I texted him before 10:30 saying that I was in a cab on my way, asking if I would catch him. He stated he had already left. A courteous host would have seen that my flight landed early, and waited. I arrived at the apartment area around 11 and had to wait over an hour (he got home after midnight) for him. 4. My host in Chicago had a lock box at the outside of his building with the keys and texted me the code. Anthony could have done that and avoided this whole debacle. My boyfriend and I had to wait in a bar with our stuff (which was awkward) and miss our plans with our friends. Then, the place was not as great as the reviews implied. The bed was uncomfortable and small (my boyfriend is 6'2" and his feet hung off the bed). The bathroom was also not as clean as I would have hoped. And there were several mops in the bathroom, creating a weird smell in it and taking up space. Also, the bathrooms have no locks. Also, Anthony told us he would send us the wifi code upon arrival but he never did. Otherwise,...

  Comments: Anthony's room was pretty much exactly as described - great location, large room (for NYC), nice neighborhood. Anthony's description of his busy schedule and possible slow response time is also just as described. If you want a lot of hand holding by a host this may not be your best choice. The building, room, and bed were all completely fine. Anthony gave a very short orientation before he left which left me having to figure out a few things on my own. All in all the room seems like a good value that I would use again.

  Comments: Anthony s'est rendu disponible pour notre arrivée qui a tardé. La chambre correspond aux images et à la description avec un frigo. Il est bien situé. Anthony a été serviable en nous imprimant des billets pour le match de NBA. Le lit n'est pas très confortable car très mou, l'appartement est occupé par plusieurs autres airbnb ce qu'il le rend impersonnel. Nous n'étions pas au courant, ce qui rend l'ambiance très étrange. La propreté est négligée dans les parties communes. La cuisine est en bazar, nous n'avons donc pas pu l'utiliser. Il manque un espace de renseignements pratiques que l'on retrouve en général dans les airbnb (clé wifi, lieu à visiter ou restaurant sympa dans le coin, bon plan, etc).

  Comments: Anthony's place was in a fantastic location - a really great neighbourhood and easy to get around. There is a subway station very close by (green line) which is helpful - it is slightly inconvenient getting to Time's Square on the subway due to the way the subway lines work, but its a very manageable walk! We actually walked to Time's Square twice and it was fine! The room was very nice and Anthony was incredibly easy to communicate with :) The room is in the same apartment as Anthony, but I didn't see anyone apart from when I got the key - so it is incredibly private! Great experience, I would highly recommend.

  Comments: Anthony was a nice host who showed us in and lets us go our own way. He also quickly replies to all questions asked. It was a good room with a nice soft queensize bed. The room comes with a fridge, AC unit and a TV. Also an optional US mobile phone for emergencies or to contact Anthony. In the appartment are two bathrooms so the sharing isn't a problem. The penthouse view of the empire state building is a big plus.

The bedroom and bathroom were clean and appeared exactly as advertised. Overall, a great place to stay for my interview at Bellevue Hospital, especially for the price. The room is as advertised and the bathroom was cleaned on a weekly basis. The location is fine if you need to be on the East side as you can get up and down with the 6 train.
