Summary: My place is situated next to Brooklyn Navy Yard, and between Dumbo and Fort Greene. My apartment feels like a treehouse cabin a million miles from the noise of the city, but in fact is only one subway station from Downtown Manhattan, where you'll likely spend most of your time. There's a park on the doorstep, and nestles in a cute and quiet little neighborhood. My place is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

Comments: Great place to stay in Brooklyn, Douglas was quick to respond to any questions we had and the proximity to the 2 3 and F train make it so easy to get to and from anywhere in Manhattan. Everything we needed to have a great trip was there. Would definitely recommend this place. Great first experience on airbnb renting from Douglas.

Comments: My boyfriend and I stayed in Doug's aptmt for about 2 weeks while we were transitioning between aptmts. We had a great experience! It's conveniently located between so many fun Brooklyn neighborhoods. You can easily walk to Dumbo, Brklyn Heights, Vinegar Hill, etc. and you can be to multiple subway stations within 15 mins and there are at least two bus lines right by the house. We took these to Manhattan, the beach, and several other neighborhoods! There's a large park across the street from the apartment with a free public pool, playgrounds, etc. So we give it an A for location based on accessibility. The apartment itself is lovely. It's on the top floor, but it's just up two sets of stairs (the outside ones and one flight inside). It was quiet and the perfect amount of space for two of us. The kitchen is equipped for cooking. Very nicely decorated, clean and charming. The key situation was easy. Doug was very responsive and helpful.

Comments: Release em English and Portuguese! The studio is super cozy in the best way of the word! Seriously! It looks like a movie set, with lots of details in decoration that bring you good memories about old and nostalgic movies. In addition, there is a well-equipped and structured kitchen and a super comfortable bed that you won't want getting out of it. It's great to go back there after a full day walking around the city and enjoy all the comfort that the apartment can provide. An excellent choice for my first visit to New York!

Comments: Dude, this place is awesome! We came in from LA as a media crew as we were shooting a couple videos out in NYC, and everyone loved it the second we walked through the door, this place was awesome! Spacious, comfortable, and super chill, not to mention Douglas was amazingly accommodating! Totally recommend it! I definitely plan on staying here again the next time I'm in town!

Comments: Stayed in Doug's place for 3 weeks and loved it. He is a fantastic host who was there to greet us and show us around his really cool loft space (it's all one room so perfect for couples or the solo traveler). The kitchen is very well equipped if you're one who enjoys cooking. Doug was kind enough to create plenty of storage for us, there's also an area outside his apartment where you can store suitcases and such too (it's perfectly secure as Doug has the entire top floor of the building). His neighbors are great and there for you if you need any help. The location is perfect if you're one who enjoys walking (as you're close to DUMBO, Vinegar Hill, Clinton Hill and Fort Greene). The subway is a 10-15 minute walk and you're one stop away from the Lower East Side. Highly recommend popping into Brooklyn Coffee Roasters on Washington & Flushing to pick up some coffee. Highly recommend staying here for your New York adventures.

Comments: The place is exactly as described, very homey, pleasant and comfortable. We arrived late at night, Doug left us a key, and it was very easy to find our way around as Doug left sticky notes all over the place with instructions which was very sweet and practical...! The communication with Doug was as well very pleasant mostly by emails which he replied immediately with any question we have had. The area is very cool, some walking distance great coffees and restaurants as well as very good public transport to anywhere in Brooklyn or Manhattan. As we stayed for 3 weeks, for us it was perfect!!

Comments: Doug is a great host! His place is just as described online, and in the pictures. Communication was very easy and straightforward and he had good tips and suggestions for my three month stay in town. He left me some good materials (maps, guides on what is happening in NYC, etc.), and the fridge had the necessary to have breakfast for a couple of days -which was great, specially because my arrival was around 2am. Checking in and out was pretty simple. And, I got to meet Doug a couple of times, which is always a plus when airbnb-ing. Siria (my dog) and I felt very welcomed and we made Doug´s home our home for 3 months. I definitely recommend Dougs´s place to anyone travelling to NYC, whether it is short term or long term. He is the greatest host!
