  Comments: Ali was a perfect host. There to help direct our taxi driver to the location as it is in a very old/wonderful neighborhood with tiny, winding streets. The apartment was as fabulous as described - the location and view of the Bosphorous could not be any nicer. We spent the next three days easily walking around Galata Tower area and across the Galata Bridge to all of the key sights in old Istanbul. It is a walker's paradise. Also, the stocking of the refrigerator with some starter groceries was most appreciated. I would make this my overwhelming choice for a return visit to Istanbul. Ali was most attentive to communicating back with us on any matters needing his help.

  Comments: We loved staying in this Penthouse apartment. It was the perfect end to our honeymoon in Turkey. When Ali opened up the blinds on our arrival, our immediate reaction was 'wow'!! The views over the Bosphorus are incredible and so breakfast each morning was a real treat. Ali was a wonderful host. So many great recommendations including a delicious local restaurant where the food was mouth-wateringly good as well as an amazing hammam experience which was definitely worth the money! Ali was on hand for our every question and booked our reservations for us too which was so helpful. The apartment was in a great location and so close to the Galata Tower. The cafes close by are also definitely worth a visit as the food there was delicious. It's also not often you find places with seriously comfortable pillows but the ones on this bed were so good you wanted to take home! Thank you Ali... We'll be back!

The view is truly breathtaking, you could spend your whole stay staring out at the view of the Bosphorus, the historical centre and the Asian side. Ali was also very helpful and welcoming, booking transport from and to the airport for us, providing a map of the city, a transport card, making a reservation at a great restaurant and providing tips for our stay. The apartment is very comfortable, including the bed, and has everything you need. It is also very well located, a short walk to Galata Tower, to Istiklal Street (up a steep road), or down to Karaköy or the Galata bridge. The neighbourhood has lots of cool shops, cafés and restaurants. Wifi was a bit hit and miss but it seems this was a temporary problem during our stay. Highly recommended!

The views from the flat are amazing and the flat itself is perfect for a stay in the city. Secondly, the neighbourhood is fabulous, filled with great cafés and boutique shops, and minutes from Galata tower. The appartment is situated only 5 minutes walking from the Galata-tower and still in a friendly, quiet and safe neighborhood. Around you will find some local shops and e few good places for breakfast. The appartment itself is well equiped. And the view.... wel the view.... Is indeed amazing. At daytime as well at night. Great to have breakfast with such a view! All in all we had a good time in Istanbul and would, although the appartment is a bit expensive, surely recommend to book this place. Thanks Ali!

  Comments: This unit is in a cool neighborhood "across" from the Old City. It has specialty shops and is near the historic Galata tower which offers an amazing view of central Istanbul. Ali did a good job of arranging transport for us. The unit was spotless and had everything as advertised. The view out the large front windows was amazing. We were very comfortable and would definitely recommend this location and unit.

  Comments: Great place in a great area... The apartment is beautifully furnished, there is a lift which comes in handy given it's the penthouse. The view is also stunning. It can get very hot, but turning on the AC and briefly opening the windows to let the hot air out soon cools the space down. Ali was very friendly and super helpful, a great host.

  Comments: I was admittedly skeptical upon booking the flat as such a low price for such a great view and location couldn't be true...but this place is spectacular. The room is very nicely sized for 2 quests; the bed is quite comfortable; the bathroom modern and nicely lit...and the view is just amazing. A true panoramic view of the Bosphorus and Topkapi, the Blue Mosque, etc... and you see it from sunrise to sunset. The south facing floor to ceiling windows slide open and the west facing bamk of windows open to provide a nice cross breeze (but it's nice there's an ac unit as the sun heats up this top-floor room). And Ali is a wonderful host. He made check-in rather quick and was very available when needed. (The elevator didn't work one morning and upon telling Ali this he hopped on the phone and we arrived back to the flat after lunch to a working lift.) And the location is fantastic. There are several nearby restaurants and cafes and attractions...and it's a great jumping-off point for those who like to walk. That said, it's difficult to find if you don't know the area, but once there it's easy to arrive at. Also, it is a place for walkers as it rests at the bottom of a hill on a cobble-stone street. I cannot recommend this location enough and I hope to be fortunate enough to return.

  Comments: Excellent communication from Ali who, in addition to providing information on the neighborhood, graciously assisted us in solving an issue with our taxi when the road was temporarily blocked. He walked some blocks away to find the cab and suggested a detour to the driver so we could make our flight. Neighborhood is quiet and safe, filled with coffee houses, family groceries, and small restaurants. Outstanding location, very close to Istiklal Caddesi, Galata Tower, 11 minute walk to the Galata Bridge, and short walk to public transportation. Flat is quite comfortable and the view is amazing. Highly recommend!

  Comments: First off, the view from the floor to ceiling windows in the penthouse apartment was spectacular, amazing views over the Bosphorus to Asia and across the Golden Horn to old Istanbul. Absolutely fantastic. The neighbourhood is great, a really hip and young area with great bars, restaurants and shopping all within 5-15 min walk from the flat. Loads of quirky boutique shops for clothes, accessories etc on the same street, and some great little coffee shops that do lovely breakfast. Definitely the less tourist end of Istanbul, and a short (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) min uber ride across the Golden Horn to all the major tourist sites. Ali was a great host, perfect comms, came out to meet us when (Hidden by Airbnb) maps and the taxi driver could only get us to within 50m of the apartment. Had some good recommendations, very approachable and friendly and charming. Apartment was an open plan area, perfect space for a couple for a long weekend, had all the amenities needed for a pleasant stay.

Would have been nice to have a proper duvet though. The aircon works well - and is needed as relief from the August steam outside. Just missing a nice balcony but generally good value for money.

  Comments: We enjoyed the amazing view from high up and that we could open the window doors. Sadly there is a lot of trash and construction stuff right outside. And some men were working there. It really scared us when we had one of them on the roof right outside our window door, since we didn’t know they would be there. We felt our privacy was completely invaded. We wished Ali told us about the construction and the men being there. The kitchen was well stocked and equipped, however we were missing dish soap. After telling Ali that there was no dish or hand soap, the cleaning lady brought us some hand soap the next morning but no dish soap. Some other things that were disappointing was the weak wifi, low water pressure in the shower, the last day of our stay the water and power went out altogether and one of the blinds broke.

  Comments: On the plus side, the flat is very nicely located near Galata and the view is amazing. Sadly, on the downside the host was not comprehensive at all as regards our delayed flight (we had to book a hotel for the first night) and the constant noise in the ceiling of the flat because of mice (or birds according to the "expert" who came to check). This was my first lower than average experience in Airbnb. I would still recommend the flat if these elements change in the future.

  Comments: We stayed here in July 2018. The location is excellent (it is hilly though) - <5min to the metro underground and 7min to the tram. The neighborhood is stylish and filled with cafes and cute shops. The closest market is 2 min away and will have everything you need (water, coffee, drinks, snacks). It's a 10 min walk from one of the nicest hamams in the city. As everyone has already said, the views are truly unbelievable. The a.c. works well. There is a 5 star hotel nearby with the same views that charges 2-3x so amazing value. Ali is really nice and responds super quickly. I'd definitely recommend this space

We sat for hours on a night time watching the ships travel up and down the Bosphorus. The photos of the apartment do not do this airbnb the justice it deserves which is very beautiful.   Comments: My husband and I stayed at Ali’s place for 4 nights. This was our first time in Istanbul and Ali’s place made the stay exceptional with the breathtaking views, elevator, A/C etc. From Ataturk airport to Ali’s place it took about 40-50mins due to rush hour (7pm). Ask to use the meters as the taxi drivers will give you a fix price which is much higher than the meter price. Once we got to Ali’s place there were a lot of shops/restaurants/cash exchange offices nearby. His place is near the Galata Tower. It’s pretty easy to get around in the area and walkable. We definitely recommend this place and will stay here again.

Panoramic view of the Bosphorus, Topkapi Palace, Haghia Sophia, the Golden Horn, and the Blue Mosque was breathless from his living room. Located close to shops, restaurants and cafés. Taxsim Square is a hop with the street car, too. Ali is an excellent host, gentleman and punctual. I will definitely be back again.

  Comments: Despite our extremely late arrival to Istanbul, Ali went out of his way to meet us at the apartment at approximately 0100AM. Great communication and always available since he typically works out of an office adjacent to the flat. The view from the penthouse apartment was incredible. The location is also prime as you can easily walk (10 min or less) to all the restaurants, cafes and shopping on Istiklal and Karakoy (port/down by the water). It is at the same time a quite residential area. Also if your up to it, walking to Old Town isn’t terrible and takes about 40 minutes across the Galata Bridge. While we never used the kitchen, you could easily make breakfast or sandwiches as there are electric kettles, pans, cooktops and dish sets. Very enjoyable and a great value. Will stay with Ali the next time we visit Istanbul. Also, if you are just thinking about a Turkish holiday my advice is to do it. Amazing ancient sites, museums, food and people. More importantly, I always felt safe, just use common sense. Cheers and safe travels.

  Comments: As others have said, it’s an amazing view. I say stay for the view if nothing else. It’s spectacular. The apartment is on a very steep hill which leads to a vibrant area with lots of cafes and shops. Be careful when you depart the metro station as there are several exits, some far from the apartment and it makes it difficult to find if you take the wrong exit. We had the address but no one we asked had ever heard of the street so it took us some time to find. We are long time world travellers so it’s not like we are new to finding remote places. Do be sure to get detailed directions from the host in case you take the wrong exit. If you take the right one, it’s very easy to find the flat. Both metro and tram are close by but we preferred the tram as you get to see where you are going and it’s at the bottom of the hill as opposed to a steep climb to the top for the metro! Istiklal is very nearby and an exciting street for strolling in the evening. Lastly, the bed is extremely comfortable and this is not always the case when you are travelling!

  Comments: It's hard to imagine there's a better spot in Istanbul than Ali's apartment. Not only is it extremely well located in (much less touristy) Galata, but the view alone is worth every penny. Too bad we wanted to do so much exploring around Istanbul, as looking out at the Bosphorus from this top floor apartment is entertainment in and of itself. The apartment is the perfect size for two, and is super well equipped - just such a lovely, well-designed space. Ali was so helpful and hospitable (amidst our changing travel dates), and made check-in a breeze. Can't say enough about this place; I've rented innumerable Air BnBs around the world at this point, and this might be my favourite of all.

La parada del tranvía está a 3 cuadras y este lleva a los principales lugares que ver en el centro de Estambul. La calle súper turística İstiklal Caddesi está también a un par de cuadras, con restaurantes, cafés y tiendas de todo tipo. Ali, el anfitrión, estuvo pendiente de nosotros todo el tiempo.   Comments: Appartamento fantastico, a 5 minuti a piedi dalla metropolitana (facilissimo arrivare dall'aeroporto Ataturk). 5 minuti a piedi anche dalla Torre di Galata. La vista è spettacolare (Bosforo, Corno D'oro, Sultanahmet: si vede sia la città in Asia che l'antica Costantinopoli) e tutto nell'appartamento è perfetto per passare qualche giorno tranquillamente. Consigliatissimo, di sicuro a tutti i nostri amici!

  Comments: The view from Ali’s apartment is to die for! You will not be disappointed day or night, cloudy or sunny- it is simply perfect. The apartment is modern and tastefully decorated with a few stylish pieces. Everything you need for a short stay. The location is also super. Right in the heart of the artists’ quarter and a few minutes from either the main shopping area or the Galata Tower. The tram (which is very cheap) is also near and the metro so it couldn’t be easier. Lots of restaurants nearby and thanks to Ali we would recommend the terrace at the top of the Radisson Blu Hotel, which is also in easy walking distance . This was a great stay made even better by a welcoming and hospitable host. Thank you so much Ali!

  Comments: This apartment is the perfect base for exploring Istanbul! It was clean and comfortable, and the view was absolutely amazing - waking up in the morning to the sunrise over the Bosphorus is a great way to start the day! The bed was comfortable, and no loud noise at night. Ali was an excellent host, check in was quick and simple, and he was very responsive to all our communications. Regarding directions If you are taking the metro from the airport - make sure you look for the Istikal Cadessi exit as soon as you get off the train (don't just pick any exit!). It is a straightforward walk down the hill if you get the right one:)
