  Comments: The apartment was very clean, lovely room with air conditioning and one of the most comfortable beds i've slept in! Richard was very friendly and went out of his way to launder my towels whilst I was out one day. The location is great its 5 minutes from the L train and takes less than 20 minutes to get into Manhattan. I would highly recommend staying here!

However, it had a heavy unpleasant smell that we found difficult to air (although we didn't mention it to our host so we don't know whether he had any solution to offer). The location was off-Bushwick, quite distant by foot from the interesting parts of the neighborhood. However, the transportation to Manhattan was very convenient through the near L stop.

  Comments: My partner and I were very pleased with our stay at Richard's (or Kip's) last weekend in Bushwick, New York City. As a host, Richard has been very welcoming, thoughtful and very much accommodating. When we first arrived, he insisted on making sure our rooms were all nicely prepped up (even though we were not very particular about it). So what we got was a nice, clean and comfortable room, with fresh linen and towels. Definitely made our day especially after our long and tiring journey. :) He also shared with us excellent dining suggestions! This guy definitely knows his town really well, therefore rest assured you won't feel out of place living there. On that note, Richard's unit is in a pleasant quiet neighbourhood, not far away from Williamsburg where all the alternative New York actions are at. You have to check this area out before it becomes overly commercialised soon. It is just 2 mins walk to Halsey St station, and less than 30 mins to reach the main touristy places. Highly accessible! On our last day, we made a mistake of not informing him in advance about our check out plans. It was embarrassing, but Richard and his visiting mom were patient and nice enough to shift and neatly arrange our belongings at the common room, without making a fuss about it. We really appreciate their kind gesture. Richard has a cat name Lucy who is absolutely adorable! Lucy would sneak into our room in the morning, probably to wish us good morning. She also ran to us before we left, probably to bid us farewell. If you love cats, you'd love Lucy! We are missing Lucy right now. In summary, Richard's place is perfect, if you are looking for a comfortable stay at a neat, tastefully furnished room at an interesting part of town not far away from Brooklyn and Manhattan. Richard does design fyi and that explains why his home is so handsome. Richard is a great host too who is very respectful of your space and needs. You won't feel awkward having him as a host. We only wished we could see and talk to him more (understand that he was quite busy with work on the weekend we were there). The city needs more AirBnb hosts like him. We highly recommend his and his place for your next stay in Brooklyn, NYC.

  Comments: We had a nice room in Richards cosy apartment for 4 nights. Richard is very welcomming - and the little black cat very charming and visiting us from time to time - nice too. There was no tv at the room as expected - but it really did not matter. Unfortunately there were bedbugs, which left many itchy "souvenirs" on our bodies. But we would not mind comming back, when the bugs are gone :-)

  Comments: My boyfriend and I rented out our first airbnb place and it was definitely a wonderful experience. Richard is just a sweet heart, super friendly and extremely respectful. We had everything we needed, fresh towels,clean sheets,and even a nice cold beer! Not to mention his adorable cat Lucy who I loved so much I am surprised I didn't just take her with me. The room is very bright, beautiful sunlight peaking through the windows looking out to the neighborhood, it was delightful.Not to mention the bed IS the most comfortable thing ever! Everything was very clean, including the bathroom. He even made a space to put our food in his kitchen and was extremely helpful when we asked questions. Also the apartment is very close to the (L train) subway, the neighborhood is lovely, with a laundry matt on the corner and a bodega that makes the best breakfast sandwiches. I would recommend to stay with him in a heart beat! P.S: This place is bedbug free! I repeat this place is bedbug free! he had a person come in to spray and check for signs of bedbugs and even though there where no signs of bugs he had someone come clean anyway. Made our month stay that much pleasant. Thank you Richard!!!!!! c:

  Comments: Kip is a cool guy, and communicating with him before meeting up was easy. The room is as advertised, with a very comfortable bed, the whole thing just a 5-minute walk away from the L-train subway station. As a bonus you get to hang out with a very affectionate cat, Lucy. Only downside was that some of my bedsheets were not very clean, but this was solved when I found others in the cupboard. Also, some people who are sensitive to noise might feel that the street noises are a bit too loud through the AC unit, but this was not my case. In any event, recommended!

  Comments: Kip keeps a tidy comfortable classy home. I was needing a place where I could bake a birthday cake, cook and decorate the room to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday. Kip was accomodating and although he was out of town, he made arrangements so that his housemate could meet me there to let me in. The room is just as portrayed in the ad. The bed was very comfortable. The bonus was Lucy, Kip's sweet tempered cat, made us feel right home. If you're a light sleeper though, the occasional street noise may interrupt your sleep.

Kip was a superb host who really made us feel welcome. He has an excellent knowledge of the area and of the "workings" of the city. We had use of the kitchen which made life much easier. We very much enjoyed our conversations on a wide range of topics. There's no doubt that we'll stay at the Chill Room on our next trip to NY.

Having 12 foot ceilings really gives the apartment a sense of spaciousness. Kip was extremely welcoming and a fantastic host.   Comments: Great location, great space, great host, great cat!! The apartment is very close to the L train and is on the same block as a laundromat and convenience store. The neighbourhood is lively and never felt unsafe. Lots of good restaurants nearby as well. The room is spacious with very high ceilings and nicely decorated. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud! The apartment is very clean and was kept tidy for the entire stay. Kip was friendly and even let us drop our bags off very early and take a shower after our 40+ hour greyhound ride (SO GRATEFUL!!). Lucy (the cat) is too cute for words and her presence made the apartment really feel like home. A+! Highly recommended! Would love to stay again!!

  Comments: Nossa estadia em NY foi ótima. O quarto/apartamento é maravilhoso. Parecia que eu estava em casa. É bem aparelhado e tinha tudo que necessitávamos. A cama é ótima com lençóis e toalhas fornecidas pelo Kip. O apartamento fica há 3 minutos do trem, e são mais 20 minutos para estar na Union Square. É muito fácil de chegar e sair de lá. Fica fácil de chegar lá de trem vindo do JFK. O bairo é tranquilo e residencial, tendo restaurantes e mercados bem próximo. Recomendo muito o lugar. O Kip é super gente fina. nos recebeu muito bem e nos ajudou em tudo o que precisávamos. Muito atencioso e prestativo. A gatinha do Kip é um amor também.

  Comments: So we didn't get to see much of Kip as hey we were on holiday and therefore out most of the time. His apartment is lovely and the immediate neighbourhood felt safe. The air conditioning was welcomed as was Lucy the cat. We met his mum later on into our stay and she was lovely and welcoming. Felt a bit sad to leave. My only criticism is that it is too much of a trek to go back to freshen up before any evening affairs. But that's more about my choice of location than anything. Missing all already.

  Comments: We were welcomed even with a day late arrival and Kip had a helping hand to be there since he was unavailable. We were treated to homemade baked goods and accommodated regarding laundry and the neighborhood. The space was clean to a professional level. We didn't have a third person in the end which was good because it would have been very tight. Kip checked in and made himself available again during our stay to make sure our needs were met. Overall it was a hotel / house mate sort of split. The bedroom is at the opposite end of the flat but also close to the entrance. Cleanliness and order of a hotel mixed with the shared kitchen and sometimes late night company of his visitors. But very worldly and kind people.

  Comments: Bei Kip war alles super organisiert. Er hat sich bei der Ankunftszeit ganz nach uns gerichtet, obwohl es spät abends war, und dafür gesorgt dass er zu der Zeit zuhause war. Er hat uns sofort alles gezeigt und uns die Schlüssel gegeben. Die Wohnung ist wirklich sauber und das Zimmer schön eingerichtet und sonnig. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt :) Die Katze ist auch echt lieb und war immer willkommene Gesellschaft! Ich würde Kips Wohnung auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen! Es hat Spaß gemacht!

  Comments: Kip is an excellent host! Very friendly, not intrusive at all, and incredibly patient. During our stay with him, Kip was very supportive and did us a few favours he was not obliged to do. The whole apartment is very tidy, looks exactly as pictured in the profile, and was a pleasant place to stay. It is also situated in a nice neighbourhood and in close proximity to several subway lines. A trip to Manhattan takes no longer than 30 minutes (including long train intervals that sometimes occur in NYC). P.S. I am not a cat person, but Kip's cat is something special. Lucy is a charming purring creature. What makes her unique is that she doesn't leave fur anywhere. Not a single black hair could be found after she'd lay on the bed's white blankets. Hint: ask Kip how is so, there is an interesting story behind it ;)

There's also a great deli literally right across the street from this place with awesome + cheap sandwiches, so the location really couldn't have been more convenient. Also, Kip's cat is the friendliest and cutest thing.

Kip est génial,très accueillant et très arrangeant pour les hôtes. Il partage ses créations artistiques et coup de cœur musicaux. His cat Lucy is so lovely and kind, she always welcomed me to the home. Location is good to go to Mantattan and Williamsberg. Room is sunny and quiet, car noise very sometimes. I was really satisfied for all the days staying.

  Comments: The room was cozy and clean (the portable heater and travel adapter put in by Kip showed his considerate nature). Kip was hospitable and helped us (me and my friend) getting familiar with the city. He welcomed us with some sumptuous coffee which was very comforting. The house is very close to Halsey St. L line which made it easy for us to commute to NYC. There are a couple of grocery stores right opposite the building so buying daily necessities becomes easy. The only glitch was the bed which was a little small for me and my friend but Kip immediately made arrangements for a cot which was very kind of him. The highlight of my stay at Kips was Lucy, his cat. She is cute and benign (but scared me at times since I'm not used to it). All in all I had an amazing stay at Kips and would definitely recommend it.

The bed dreamy, I slept like a baby crisp white linens surrounded my pillows. Kip was straight forward and pleasant. His communication was good and all went as planned. Lucy the cat is a total sweetie and made me feel like I was home every time I returned to the apartment. Kip was welcoming and friendly and is very knowledgeable about Bushwick/Brooklyn/New York City in general. In particular, he went above and beyond and gave nightlife recommendations that only someone connected to the local scene would be able to do. This part of Bushwick is fairly quiet and residential but has easy access to the rest of the city.—the apartment is, as advertised, right next to the Halsey L stop, with plenty of bodegas and small businesses within walking distance. Great first time in Brooklyn and I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.

Kip's apartment is in a secured building which was nice. The bed is super comfortable and the neighborhood felt safe. Location to transit was good too. It was a few blocks away from the L Train or your could hop on a bus on the corner to get down to the J Train in a few minutes. We had a nice time and a nice stay!

We really only slept there and were out and about otherwise. Our bedroom was right by the apartment entrance and opposite Kips room in the apartment, so coming in super late felt minimally disruptive. All other reviewers already say it, but Lucy the cat was the best!! She loved hanging with us in the mornings while we were getting ready. Staying in Brooklyn was nice; a quite street with plenty of walkable spots and easy train access. We would definitely stay again/recommend!

The nearby train provides an easy 30-40 minute trip into Manhattan. In regards to the room, it was pretty clean with a decent amount of space. The bed is big enough for two and there is a large flat screen TV with streaming options including Netflix and Hulu. Only had a few interactions with Kip, but everything was straightforward. Most of our interactions were actually with the cat, Lucy, who was very friendly and playful. She was a highlight of the the stay. Overall a good trip and I wouldn't mind staying there again.

Once you close the room's door, you can't hear anything. Good shower. Spotless. In terms of location, the apartment itself is located a block away from the station. Super convenient and accessible. The only thing I would point out is that for me, particularly, it seemed a bit far from Manhattan, but this is up to your sense of relatively. About the neighborhood, I didn't get a chance to explore; at late hours it seemed a bit on the rougher side but take into consideration that I basically only came to the apartment to sleep at pretty late hours. Loved the graffiti that's on the way to the station though. Overall the place is great.

  Comments: Kip's place is exactly what you see in the images! His place is very clean and we were greeted to our room with cute pieces of chocolate on our pillows. His cat, Lucy, is so sweet and loves to come in and say hello every chance she got. Overall, Kip was an amazing host and just did his thing while we did ours.

  Comments: Kip’s place was very clean and cozy. The design was very modern and stylish. More spacy than I expected. I loved how the ceiling of the room was high and how the curtains blocks sunlight. Bed was extremely comfy. The location is close to Halsey st. but takes quite a bit to Manhatten. Besides that Kip was an amazing host, very friendly and nice. Would defo come here again

  Comments: Staying at Kip’s place was great! Check-in was easy, the apartment was clean and stylish, we loved the light design in this place. The room itself was fine, we had 2 pillows a person and the bed was pretty comfy. His cat Lucy was adorable and was usually playfully running around the place or chilling in our room. Bathroom has everything and Kip also provided towels so that saved us packing. Nice neighborhood in Brooklyn, about 20 - 30 minutes away from Manhattan by subway. And hour away from JFK airport.

  Comments: Good value for money. Nice clean place. Comfortable bed and tv in room to relax after a day strolling through NYC. Close to the L line (5 min walk)which brings you to lower Manhattan in about 30 min. Nice deli on the corner for sandwiches, coffee etc.

  Comments: Good for it’s value. It takes about 3 min to get to the metro station and about 20 to get Manhattan. The neighbor hood seems decent. It’s easy to buy anything to eat. Kip agreed to check in us earlier so big plus! There were no problems during our stay, except the WiFi connection in our room which was quite poor.

  Comments: La chambre proposée par Kip est tout à fait conforme à la description de l’annonce : belle, agréable et facile d’accès. Nous avons intégré le logement en autonomie et rencontré Kip un peu plus tard. L’appartement est vaste et disposé de telle manière que personne ne se marche sur les pieds. C’est une bonne solution pour se reposer lors d’un séjour à NYC. Seul bémol : c’est un peu fastidieux de rejoindre les quartiers de Dumbo ou Williamsburg.

  Comments: Kip’s place was fabulous! He communicated fast and check in was a breeze. The neighborhood is nice, with lots of food and drinks options. His cat Lucy is so affectionate but not annoying. His house is set up with these amzing lights and motion detectors that are you feel like you are in a performance art space. He was helpful in every way and his house was very clean. You can get to the L in a block or twoJ/M about 8 blocks away.

  Comments: My partner and I stayed at Kip's place this past weekend and he is an excellent host. His place looks exactly like the photos, the room is very spacious and nicely decorated. He was also great at responding and was totally cool with us having a later check-in. His place is super close to the subway which makes it very convenient and close to lots of great neighbourhood spots. I would highly recommend Kip as a host.

  Comments: Beautiful place, very tastefully decorated, sparkling clean. Everything looks and feels impeccable. Plenty of new-like towels, nice bed linen, all bathroom supplies provided... I have never stayed at an Airbnb in a price range any close to Kip's that would compare favorably to his place. Highly recommended! Only exceptions: Guests with a disability (two flights walk-up) or allergy to cats (Lucy is very quiet, sweet and sociable, but she's still a cat)

  Comments: We had a great stay! Loved how clean Kip’s place is, and accessible to public transportation. Check in was also hassle free, and Kip even allowed us to check in way earlier! We arrived in NY 4 am and he was thoughtful enough to let us in or otherwise we might have been roaming the streets of brooklyn in wee hours. Lol. Even received chocolates from him! Thank you Kip! Highly recommended

  Comments: Safe neighborhood. Convenient to subway. Apartment was clean. Kip was very easy to deal with and extremely accommodating. However the real stars of the show are the amazing bed and Lucy the cat. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. And Lucy is adorable!
