Summary: This charming, clean & quiet oasis is located right in the center of everything that's amazing about the W. Village. On the second floor, the double bed comfortably fits two. The private toilet is in the hallway, which is actually perfect.
Space: Most apartment buildings have been renovated beyond recognition. This apartment has had the same layout since it was built. The paint is fresh, but you can still feel the old NYC, when the W Village was all struggling artists & people who eventually made history.

Comments: Kaytlin made me feel very welcome and gave a good overview of the area and suggested some great bars and restaurants. Brilliant location right in the middle of the West Village. Always felt very safe in the area. The apartment was extremely keen and although small, the space works well. Recommended!

Comments: Loved my stay here! The room was clean, quiet, and cozy, with a really comfortable bed. Kaytlin was a fantastic host—she made me feel so welcome, and had plenty of little conveniences (hair dryer, extra toiletries) to make the stay extra-nice. The neighborhood is also great for access to SoHo, Nolita, LES, East Village, and access to the subway. Highly recommend this cute, bright little place!

Comments: This was my third time using Airbnb for NYC and I've stayed in some pretty good neighborhoods, but Kaytlins place as by far the best when it comes to location. You can walk to Washington Square Park in less than 5 minutes and the subway is just as close, the street she lives on in my favorite in the village. I would 100% recommend staying here, the apartment is a older style NYC apartment which is awesome i think and its only up one fight of stairs.

Reviewer: Carla
Comments: She was awesome. Really friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much and even though we were in the same apartment it felt as if we were in separate apartments which made it comfortable. The room was comfortable, a bit small but plenty of room for two people especially cause in this city you don't wanna spend anytime in your apartment but all of it exploring New York. The area was cool, lots of restaurants and bars if you wanna stick close to home. The metro was close and convenient and being near Washington square was nice. Kaitlyn even out in an AC for us as the weather started to heat up! Awesome!!

Comments: A great location, comfortable and quiet. The quirks of the building with the shower in the kitchen and the toilet down the hall, add a bit of historical colour to staying in a New York walk up. Easy to get to from JFK to West 4th and in a terrific neighbourhood. I was out most of the time, only really using the apartment to sleep, which suited the arrangements well. Only briefly crossed paths with Kaytlin, who has her own busy schedule, but that's life in New York and I love it.

Comments: Great location, nice restaurants, easy connection to public transport. Kaytin was helpfull. The room is very small, toilet is not in the apartment, so you need to go with the key to the toilet which is nearby in the coridor. It is a private toilet for Kaytlin's apartment. Good aircondition in the room. Very quiet. Room was quite dusty.

Comments: Kaytlin's apartment is right in the heart of the west village, yet strangely very quiet (this is a good thing!). Although the apartment is small, I think it is great value for money and you get a real experience of living in NYC... She is a lovely host, although we rarely saw each other due to different schedules. I was travelling on business and needed a place to sleep and get showered, so for me it was perfect.

Comments: This place was just as described and I had a great time. Kaytlin is a fun host and made me feel at home. She regaled me with stories of her adventurous life . She bought a reading light especially for me, too, and left fruit in a basket to eat fro breakfast. This place is the most super location for transportation on both the east and west sides. I'm the one to know, I have lived in NYC in the past for a number of years.

Comments: My wife and I loved the Kaytlin apartament it's small but for us is in the best area to stay in NY with a lot of night live and restaurants Kaytlin recived us very very well she is so nice
-
Reviewer: Adam
Comments: Since our stay, Kaytlin has amended the text of her listing, which previously didn't describe the shower situation. We were surprised to find the bathroom IS the kitchen, and that the toilet is not in the hallway of the apt, but is in the hallway of the building. There is also no door separating the shower/kitchen space with Kaytlin's living space, just a curtain. If you're adventurous and comfortable with that, you'll be fine. But perhaps not the best shared space for those who'd like guaranteed privacy. Other than that, the room was clean, and the apartment is in a great location!

Comments: Kaytlin was a great host - very sweet and friendly. My mother and I enjoyed the place and the neighborhood very - it was close to subway and easy to get around, which was important to us. We saw not so much to Kaytlin, she and we were out most of the time, but we had good communication before and during our stay! My mother thought the room was a bit too small, but I think it was a PERFECT place to stay, and would come back anytime. Thanks Kaytlin!

Comments: We had an amazing time in New York for 5 days. Kaytlin's apartment was a clean, comfortable, and welcomed oasis to rest our tired feet after trekking across the city every day. The location in Greenwich Village could not be better. Convenient access to TONS of great food and bars (I recommend the Vietnamese kitchen downstairs for lunch and then Up & Up for late night cocktails), quick walk to the subway, and an active nightlife. We even caught sight of a few celebrities exiting the nearby Comedy Cellar while enjoying a slice of pizza on the stoop. The accommodations were just as described, and Kaytlin's knowledge and recommendations for the city were a helpful starting point. I would highly suggest this great spot for anyone looking for a great place to nest as your explore NYC. I just hope that it's still available the next time we're in town! ;)

Comments: Awesome time, Great place, very cute and comfy apartment. Felt like a proper New Yorker. Kaytlin is very friendly, cool and welcoming. Do go check out her Stand. The streets outside are full of things to eat and drink but you can't any noise hear it from inside. Check out the Comedy Cellar across the road you may see someone well know (I spotted Louie CK) or Blue Note jazz around the corner. TIP Artichoke pizza across the street is also one the best.

Comments: Kaytlin was a warn & welcoming host and helpful about the area which was very centrally located to everything-food, subways, attractions, shopping, lovely park nearby with entertainment. My husband and I were sharing a small apt with Kaytlin that consisted of a joint kitchen area and we each had our own bedroom. It worked out okay as we were rarely home at the same time and when we were she was respectful of our privacy. She knidly responded to my requests for bandaids for my aching feet. My only concern was the floor was dirty and she responded to cleaning the kitchen floor. We wish Kaytlin good luck with her comedy career.

Comments: Kaytlin is truly an amazing host and everything went smoothly. From meeting Kaytlin at the apartment, to getting the keys, etc., it was seamless. The room and location were exactly as described and pictured - clean, quiet and cozy. I could not have been in a better part of the city. So many great places for food and drink. I honestly couldn't have a picked a better place. Amazing stay!

Comments: Excellent location - food & subway. The place is small (as advertised) which I didn't mind. It was great for my needs as a first time NYC visitor - comfortable bed, fast internet connection (for communicating back home & planning my day) and hot water for the cold weather. Having the bath and toilet separate (the latter is outside the apartment) took some getting used to but not a deal breaker, especially since the toilet is immaculate. Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

Comments: This was my first Airbnb experience and I was not sure what to expect. Kaytlin made everything easy from first contact. The space is cozy but perfect for what I needed for my time in NYC. The location is the best - right across from the Comedy Cellar, close to many great restaurants, Bleecker St., and just a couple of blocks from the subway. I always have a great time in the city but this experience made it better than most. Can't wait to come back.

Comments: Excellent stay in a very nice place in a lively neighbourhood. Kaytlin has been a welcoming host, discrete and attentionate. The place is particularly quiet (the room is facing a backyard) but is located in a very pleasant nightlife area. The room is clean. All together, this is a very good place to spend a few days in New York !

Gracias.

Comments: Kaytlin was a great host. I was looking for a place to stay in NYC to visit and see the sights and we got more than what we asked for with Kaytlin's place. We felt like we lived in NYC. First about the place, place was neat and clean and all essential items were available, no problems at all. The building and the apartments were unique, the shower was in the kitchen with a curtain which was really different than what we are used to. So was the restroom which was in the hallway. Don't get me wrong both were perfect and had really hot water too. So no complaints we really loved the different experience. Next the neighborhood, absolutely awesome. Full of life and a short 2 minute walk to the subways. I will recommend the artichoke pizza place for late night eats, it is a gem. The Ethiopian restaurant couple of doors down is also worth a mention. Being a vegetarian, we had no problem finding food. Overall, an excellent stay and we gladly recommend her place to others. Go live the nyc style life at Kaytlin's place.

Comments: The apartment is located right in the thick of Greenwich village on MacDougal Street. Landmarks like Cafe Wha?, IFC center, Comedy Cellar and many others are a stone's throw away. Great people, great music and amazing people all around. The room is quite cozy and comfortable. Being on the second floor (of a building with no elevators) is a big plus as well. Kaytlin is an amazing host! She is extremely accommodating and had lots of great recommendations for us. She is also a brilliant stand-up comic and you should definitely try to catch one of her shows while you're there.

Comments: Lovely, cute apartment in a great area - perfect for a short stay in NYC. Unfortunately I had to cut visit short due to bad weather in the city but Kaitlyn was incredibly understanding. Would have liked to spend a little longer but maybe next time! Very good experience, communication wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Comments: Kaytlin is lovely. She was super flexible with my crazy schedule, helped me with my heavy bags and made me feel comfortable and welcome. The apartament was exactly as told here and the location is the best in Manhattan, in my opinion. Comments: Kaytlin is a great host and her place is a gem. We didn't see each other much because she was very busy being a busy New York person, but she was very understanding when I messed up the dates of my booking and I had everything I needed. The apartment is right in the heart of things. You're metres away from the bars and cafes that Bob Dylan used to play in was back when. Would definitely stay there again.

Comments: Kaytlin's place is lovely - the location could not be better, her home was quirky and comfy, and Katylin was so nice and accommodating with our check in and check out times. Had an issue with flights and Kaytlin was very kind about it. The place is as pictured, and on the plus the bed is extra comfy. Makes you feel like a New Yorker as it's close to everything and a large subway stop near by too. Would definitely recommend this place and come back again!

Comments: My "New York" experience was just fantastic and being able to stay at Kaytlin's place was key... Just being able to step out on the street and have it all there within absolute walking distance was incredible. New York is a noisy place, and I was totally blown away by how quiet Kaytlin's was, which comes in handy due to the full one nature of Manhattan. If you are up for the "Greenwich Village" experience, look no further than Kaytlin's place. It was clean, straight forward and secure. The few chat I did have with Kaytlin were always friendly and funny. A+++!

Comments: A great location amongst plenty of action, places to eat and drink and absorb village lifestyle. Didn't see Kaytljn much but she was friendly and helpful. Loved a open mic music/ comedy show she recommended Monday nights at Cafe Vivaldi. Close to Metro and easy walk to downtown. The room is small and the apartment size meant we did not feel comfortable hanging around even for breakfast. The shower in the kitchen and toilet down the hall were as explained and no real drama short term. All in all a good place for a couple of nights.

Comments: Great apartment, great location, great holiday. I chose Kaytlin's apartment for the location and it was excellent. Right in the heart of Greenwich Village, handy for the subway, with lots of eating/entertainment options close by. The apartment is great, really authentic New York feel and exactly as described. Kaytlin is a great host, and my son and I enjoyed staying with her. We were out and about a lot of the time, and she is pretty busy, so although we didn't see much of each other, it all seemed to work pretty well. I would recommend Kaytlin's apartment to anyone for an authentic taste of Greenwich Village, and a perfect location to explore New York.

Comments: Kaytlin's place was charming and surprisingly quiet. There were fresh flowers in the kitchen, too! I chose the location for its proximity to NYU's Bobst Library. Getting there and also to any other place in Manhattan and Brooklyn was very easy, since Kaytlin's apartment is close to the subway. We always got up early and had breakfast in the park. In the evening, the walk to Highline Park is nice, too. We felt safe in the area, which is crazy lively.

Comments: Kaytlins place is located in a great neigbourhood, the perfect place to stay if you want all the good stuff the village has to offer!! Great restaurants, bars if you want that and lots of friendly people. Washington square park is just around the corner, a good place for peoplewatching and to catch som jazz! As for the apartement, just what you see on the pictures. Neat and clean, not so much floorspace in the bedroom, but we unpacked our bags and stowed them away. Worked fine! We had a warm welcome, got all the information we needed and then we had the place to ourselves for 5 days!! Shower is in the kitchen and toilet in the hallway (private!!) and to us this was fun, not strange as you might think. Rent this place if you want to feel like you live in NYC, we will the next time we come back. For sure!! For great food just around the corner, (Hidden by Airbnb) : miss Lily's, Caliente cab co (the frozen margerita!) and best if them all Tacombi on Bleecker St! Enjoy!!

Comments: Kaytlin is awesome! We had a lot going on the day we arrived in NYC but she was very flexible to meet up with us at a time that was convenient to our schedule. Her place was clean and the location is EXCELLENT!!! One thing to note - the shower is small. It was fine for me, but I could see it being too tight for someone who is over 250lbs. Other than that, everything else was great! I'd stay here again!

The apartment is located in a pub area but you can't hear it in the room but you do hear the whole night a very loud air condition. It is very close to the Washington square park which is great and easily accessible by subway.

Comments: Loved my stay at Kaytlin's apartment. The building oozes charm and the apartment was cozy and quiet - a bijou residence in the heart of the village. Everything you need is on your doorstep. I had good communication, Kaytlin was out of town the day I arrived but quickly put me in touch with her friend and arranged for her to be there and show me the ropes. I had the place to myself during my stay and only met Kaytlin briefly but could tell she is a great host. I would stay there again in a flash.

Comments: First AirBnb experience was awesome! The apartment is quite small, but Kaytlin is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. I would highly recommend her spot to single travelers and couples who want a home base while exploring all that the Village has to offer. Great location, host, and space!

Reviewer: Ilija
Comments: I had to leave the place after the half of stay because of a very loud air condition next to the bedroom window and a shower in the kitchen that has no door to Kaytlins bedroom. I knew that the place is small, but for two persons it is too small and the lack of privacy is a problem. No way for longer stays. After I asked about the noise Kaytlin became unfriendly.

Comments: Kaytlin's place is in the heart of the West Village, on a street full of great places to eat and hang out, and lots of energy. Luckily it's in the back of the building, so while you're in the heart of the action, it's perfectly quiet. Like all apartments in the area, it's compact, but it's very comfortable, and nicely decorated with an individual style, and Kaytlin herself is friendly, welcoming, helpful, but not overbearing. I'd happily stay there again - I felt like a real West Villager!

Comments: Kaytlin's place is in the heart of Greenwich Village, and for such a busy area, the apartment is very quiet. The bed was comfortable and there is an AC unit in the bedroom to keep things cool. Kaytlin was a warm and welcoming host, allowing us to check-in early and leave our bags past check-out. She has some great suggestions for neighborhood eating spots. Highly recommended as we wouldn't hesitate to stay at Kaytlin's place again!

Comments: Kaytlin was a great host and made us feel like home directly. We were provided clean sheets and towels, and had our own little room in her cozy, small apartment. She had to leave during the second day so we got the apartment for ourselves, but we managed to arrange with the checkout anyway. The apartment is in a great area with walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. It is perfect for a weekend in New York!

Comments: We loved our 4 night stay in Kaytlin's apartment in Macdougal Street. The apartment is small, but clean, quiet and cozy, and situated in a lively street full of awesome little bars and restaurants. Being located in close proximity to Tribeca, SOHO, Greenwitch, etc; puts you in walking distance of an almost endless variety of shops, bakeries, coffee-shops, bars, restaurants and live entertainment. If you're looking for an authentic NYC experience we highly recommend this place.

Comments: The flat is quiet and peaceful in a busy and exciting part of the city. It is small but has everything that you need. The shower is in the kitchen and the toilet is a private one down the hall. We found it all convenient and easy to manage. There is a very comfortable bed. Kaytlin thoughtfully gave us 2 sets of keys which was very useful for coming and going. It is very close to a subway station which was great as well as bars, clubs, cinemas, restaurants and of course Washington Square.

Comments: Fantastic location! Right in the heart of Greenwich village, on a very bustling street full of great food and pubs but quiet as the unit doesn't face the street. 3 min walk to thethat subway and Washington square park. Kaytlin wasn't there to check me in but she arranged for her lovely friend to let me in - she gave me lots of tips and was very friendly. Met Kaytlin the next day - really great host and had a few good chats with her. Highly recommend kaytlin's home!

Comments: This a funky, charming apartment in a wonderful neighborhood, with great access to public transport. Although the streets were humming (loudly) with activity on the weekend evenings, Kaytlin's place was an oasis of quiet. The best of both worlds. The bed was very comfortable and the place is spotless. Kaytlin is a fantastic host, very accessible and friendly. She suggested several places for us to visit and eat and we loved them! Check-in and check-out were a breeze. I recommend this place very highly and plan to visit again with my teens!

Comments: Never got to meet Kaytlin until the night before my check-out after a 10 day stay. Location is fabulous but the apartment does not deliver. It's one notch above camping with a hefty price tag. Didn't worry me that the shower recess was in the kitchen ( that was detailed in the listing), it was the deteriorating state of the shower recess itself which made it feel unclean and mouldy. Also bath mats and hand towels that had not been replaced after previous guest/s, kitchen lino which had not seen a broom or mop in sometime and it was certainly not a 'Bright" space, but it was quiet. The gas smell in the 'private toilet' in the hallway is unbearable (and am unsure why no-one has mentioned it before in reviews as its pervasive in that space) so if you have already booked ask to use the toilet next to it. It has no key and no gas smell. Clearly all the other residents use it so I am not sure why Airbnb guests can't? Why do we have to put up with the smelly (and who knows, maybe dangerous) toilet space? Loved New York. Loved Greenwich Village. What a shame I can't say I loved this space.

Comments: I had a great stay at Kaytlin's place. The location is very easy to get to and has lots of great restaurants in the area. Despite the bustling neighborhood, the room is protected from the street and very quiet. The room doesn't have a lot of space outside of the bed, but it's nice, and the bed itself is very comfortable. Kaytlin and her friend Mari, who was staying in the room while Kaytlin was away, were both very friendly and accommodating. Comments: Apartment was nice, quiet, and in a great location of New York. If you want to experience some comedy shows and the everyday hustle and bustle of New York this is the perfect spot. It’s about two miles north of Battery Park so if you are wanting to do some of the touristy stuff (Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, World Trade Center) it’s not terribly far. Kaytlin made sure that all of my needs were met and I had no issues. It was the perfect experience of New York.

Comments: Kaytlin's place was perfect for my 12 year old daughter and myself. The space was clean and very quiet. The quiet surprised us because we were in the heart of Macdougal Street. It is a unique space, that made us feel like we had the 'what it's like to actually live in the Village' experience, and it was bright, and clean. The private toilet was down the hall and was accessed by key, but that added to the uniqueness of the experience, and was ideal. It was an easy walk to the subway as well as Washington Square Park. And it was just upstairs from Insomnia cookies, and the historic and quaint Cafe Reggio. We would stay there in a heartbeat again. It was nice to be in the center of a neighborhood, in a lived in space, rather than a hotel.

Kaytlin goes above and beyond, is responsive, and has excellent tips to maximize any visit. She clearly loves her neighborhood & her apartment, and it shows in little details; a basket of luxe travel sized toiletry goodies to choose from, inspirationally chic decor, satiny soft bedding, temp controlled room, inviting & intentional spaces, a guest book to sign...I could go on! I felt like I was staying with a favorite cousin who genuinely wished me the best time and would be there if I needed anything. Don’t think twice - book with Kaytlin and enjoy!

Comments: Of all my trips to NYC, I've always wanted to stay in the Village, and this was such a cool spot! Kaytlin was a lot of fun and was super accommodating for our late arrival, even suggesting the best spot for pizza right around the corner (Fiore's), which totally hit the spot and probably IS the best pizza I've had stateside! The space is not going to be for everyone -- as in the description, the shower is in the kitchen and the bathroom is shared. But it was perfect for my husband and I for 3 nights! The bedroom is very small so we kept our luggage in the kitchen. It was fine for us but a more discerning traveler might have a problem with it. It is in a LIVELY neighborhood -- so much cool stuff close by! Also very close to subway so it's easy to get around. Being in such a lively neighborhood though, the apartment itself is super quiet. We loved it and would stay here again!

Comments: Tiny, but perfect for what we needed. She was so sweet and it was in a great location. Close to a lot of restaurants and the building was quiet & safe. The only downside to the stay was after 11pm the building door locked, and the key we were given did not work the entire time. So we had to wait until someone happened to be going inside to get in. Other than that, Kaitlyn was a great host :)

Comments: Kaytlin was a great host, kind, organized and sweet . Her apartment was lovely - warm, quiet, and cozy. Everything you see here is exactly as you will get (and more) if you decide to stay here. I didn't get to see her because she was really busy during my stay and so was I, but all communication was great - Kaytlin is a "people person" and staying at her place is definitely better than going to a hotel as she was particularly good at interacting with me during my stay and making me feel comfortable (and the price too, awesome for NYC). I recommend her and her home. I would stay there again.
