Neighborhood Overview: Kauai's north shore is unpoiled and serene, ideal for the outdoor enthusiast (even if your enthusiasm for the outdoors extends no further than the nearest sunny beach or a glass of wine on your private lanai). The Princeville Shopping Center offers a grocery store, restaurants, boutiques, a yoga studio, and other businesses, and it's a pleasant walk along level ground to get there. Several secluded beaches can be accessed by one of the beach paths (they're rather steep) that go down the bluff, or there's the lovely shady path to Anini Beach on the east side of Princeville. The town of Hanalei, with its restaurants, bars, charming boutiques, and the fabulous beach at Hanalei Bay, is only about a 5 minute drive. In the summer months, when the water is calm, you can even catch a boat tour of the Na Pali Coast out of Hanalei. There are numerous hiking trails a short drive away. You'll find beaches for whatever your favorite beach activity happens to be…surfing (or learning to surf),

Transit: Public transportation is not widely available, and taxi cabs are extremely expensive. We recommend that guests reserve a rental car for their visit. Since you'll find many opportunities for shopping, dining, or beach-going within walking distance if you are staying on the east shore or the south shore, you may wish to use a rental car for only a part of your stay, on those days when you'll be sight-seeing farther afield.
Access: Our Kauai rental properties are all equipped with either a lockbox or a keyless entry pad. You will receive complete arrival instructions 30 - 60 days prior to arrival which will include the lockbox or keyless code. Your arrival instructions will also include other important information about the property such as driving directions, where to stop-and-shop, wifi access, etc. Our mobile phone app provides this information as well, without the need to print anything (other than parking passes for those locations that require a parking pass). We encourage you to download the guest app. It's free!

Comments: We loved our week in Kauai Kahuna, it was the perfect place in Princeville for our family vacation. This was our third trip to the island and we knew the area we wanted to stay in, and what I loved was being able to walk in the mornings around the area, onto the green or even down the rough-ish path down to the beach. The Westin is close by for stopping into for Starbucks and it was easy to get to Foodland to pick up groceries. The home was well laid out, private and easy to be in. We discovered lots of beach equipment and snorkel gear to use and my boys loved chasing the gekos around in the garden. We can't wait to come back.
