Comments: We had a wonderful stay in NYC and Justin was a great host. He stayed in contact with us the entire trip and was really nice. The apartment is as lovely as the photos show. Incredibly spacious for NYC and quieter than I thought possible! It's a very short walk to the highline and Chelsea markets which are great (especially for food lovers). Justin does have dogs and while this didn't surprise or bother us one bit, and there was barely a trace of dog hair, it might affect someone with allergies. I can't recommend this apartment highly enough. It made our stay so enjoyable and comfortable!

Comments: Jay was a fantastic host! He was available and communicative throughout the entire process. Our comfort was his priority and it was truly a pleasure making arrangements with him. The apartment is very comfortable, accommodating, and spacious--as the listing indicates! It is fantastically located near food, galleries, recreation, and transportation. It is also very quiet--a great place to recharge after exploring or working. Also, the bed is comfortable and the WiFi is very reliable. We felt very lucky to have found such a nice spot for this trip. We would love to stay there again!

Comments: Jay is an excellent host and was extremely quick in responding to our queries. His apartment is spacious, nicely decorated and very quiet. We especially liked the comfortable bed. We stayed with our 2 year old and the flat is child friendly. The surrounding area is safe, easily accessible for public transport and close to the Highline. In fact we really liked Chelsea with its numerous cafes and trendy galleries. We recommend Jay's flat.

Comments: We absolutely loved staying here. Jay’s apartment is large, light, airy, clean, and beautifully furnished. The bed is super-comfy, the Internet fast and reliable, and there was ample closet and dresser space available for us to use. The apartment is also very quiet and peaceful, so if you are someone who likes/wants/needs a peaceful oasis to go back to after being out and about in the city, then Jay’s apartment is definitely the place to stay. Jay himself is friendly, kind, organized, up to all sorts of interesting things in his own life, and clearly committed to his guests having the best possible experience. The location of the apartment is also fabulous: we particularly enjoyed being just moments from the High Line (New York’s incredibly cool elevated linear park). In addition, the huge Episcopal Seminary right across the street has gardens that you can go and sit in (hours were 10 am -5 pm during our stay: just ring the buzzer on the gate and they will let you in). All in all, our stay could not have better, and we very much hope that we will be able to stay at Jay’s again on future visits to New York.

Comments: The location is great, just as described. The apartment was comfortable. Bed and couch were very comfortable. As is probably the case with most NYC apartments - they are always smaller and darker than the wide angle shots on the sites - so bear that in mind. We arrived much earlier than the check in time and Jay arranged for us to get the key and get in with our luggage so that was very very helpful. Jay walked me through setting up the tv (needed that help for this very elaborate and huge system). Wifi was great. All in all - the place was good and Jay was attentive and helpful. We would recommend it.

Comments: Great apartment, great building, great location! My husband and I stayed in Jay's apartment while we were visiting our daughter, who is a student at a nearby college. Jay and his assistant were very accessible, friendly, and did everything possible to ensure that we had a great stay. The apartment is perfect (we loved having a separate bedroom versus the studios we've rented before). Quiet street. Very convenient to everything! I highly recommend Jay as a host.

Comments: An excellent, unusually spacious apartment, and I'd definitely return. Ground floor means you avoid clomping up and down stairs. It was at the back of the building so it was very quiet, but as it's North facing it was also a little dark without the lights on.

Comments: Just returned from four FABULOUS days in NYC -- the comfort and convenience of Jay's apartment were a big part of making our trip a success! This Chelsea location is as perfect as it gets...centrally located to an increasingly charming part of town, and delightfully quiet (no street noise AT ALL). Jay and his colleague Mara were both extremely available and helpful, accommodating our unusual arrival and departure hours, and checking in via text to make sure we had everything we needed. On a personal note, I felt a kinship seeing Jay's personality reflected in the apartment, which is simply but stylishly furnished with a mix of modern design and Asian pieces, with an artistic nod to his clear love of animals both domestic and wild. While apartment doesn't feature an abundance of natural light, it's worth the trade-off for peace and quiet -- and there's ample greenery out the windows. Separate kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom in addition to a living room make this a pretty spacious place by New York standards! Overall, we felt grateful for Jay's generosity in opening his home so we, too, could get a taste of Chelsea living. P.S. there is an Intelligentsia coffee bar at the pricey High Line Hotel around the corner on 10th Ave.

Comments: Jay was exceptionally conscientious about making sure our stay was good. He checked in periodically regarding our arrival, satisfaction with the apartment, and departure plans. The Chelsea location is ideal for exploring that part of Manhattan. There are many great small neighborhood restaurants in the area and plenty of shopping. It's a low rise residential neighborhood far less noisy and congested than other parts of NYC. The most satisfying aspect of the apartment itself is the quietness. It's rare to be able to escape the barrage of traffic and construction noise in Manhattan. So, it was nice to come home to a guaranteed peacefull setting with a pleasant north-facing courtyard view. The apartment itself was fine although the quality is a tad less that represented by the photos. It reminded me of an apartment I might have rented right out of college with a cobbled together collection of furnishings, pots and pans and hand-me-down appliances. Nevertheless, the location, size, quiet and first floor walk-up made up for those minor shortcomings.

Comments: We loved Jays place, being at the back of the building it was lovely and quiet, we even saw squirrels playing out the back. The apartment had everything we needed, lovely and clean, the bed super comfortable. Wifi worked well. Gorgeous building in a lovely area close to everything. Jay also gave information on good eating places which was appreciated. Would definitely stay again if in NYC.

Comments: Jay's appartment was exactly as shown on the pictures. The appartment is super quiet, exactly what I was looking for. I love the way it is decorated. Very convenient to come from the airport as you do not need to change the subway and it is only 5 mn walk from the station. Also Jay is very responsive in case you have any question. It is not him who welcomes you but his friend who is also available if you need any assistance. It was my first airbnb experience and I am very pleased with it. I would return without any hesitation to Jay's appartment.

Comments: Jay´s apartment is very well located in a quiet area (which is really appreciable in nyc). Clean, comfortable and nice decoration. Bed is pretty comfortable as well. Jay ´s friend, Laura, made herself available to give us the keys and Jay reminded available for any question. The only small things to be noted are that: - the apartment is relatively dark (located on ground floor) which was not an issue for us as we spent most of the day out. - There is low insonorisation between apartments and we could hear the sound of the water for the avive apartment. But again, quiet neighbors so not a big issue. We recommend warmly this apartment.

Comments: A wonderful stay. Sorry to be leaving after just 3 days here. Apartment is exactly as shown with large windows that let in lots of light. Quiet location, quiet street but close to lots of choices, including High Line and the wonderful restaurant, Barchetta! Laura accomodated my later than planned checkin and that evening when I texted that the apartment was cold Jay was there w/n 10 min. All warm and cozy after the radiators were turned on! A most enjoyable experiece. I will definitely stay here again if available my next trip back to NY.

Comments: Jay's apartment was a fantastic place to stay for our 5 day trip in NY. Jay and his friend Laura were so helpful and made everything so easy. They even let us stay in the apartment till 6pm on the day of check out as we had a late flight and they had no new guests checking in that day. The apartment is just like the photos, super comfortable and located in a fabulous spot! There are some great bars and restaurants nearby and if you have a chance you should check out Cookshop on the corner of 20th and 10th Ave.

Comments: Have just had the most exceptional stay at Jay's apartment in Chelsea. I am a travel agent and great accom is always recommended to me...well I am totally recommending this apartment to anyone whom is after a complete NYC experience. The apartment is spacious with all the amenities, including extra linen, hairdryer and everything you need in a kitchen. The wifi was fast and efficient and a massive TV if you want to chill out and relax. It was spotless, in a beautiful and quiet apartment block and in the most perfect location. It has so many great places in the vicinity, that you don't need to walk far! We spent 2 weeks here, exploring the whole of NY but we loved coming back to Chelsea and enjoying the local area.. Jay was a perfect host and offered fantastic tips in the area and made everything we needed to know about the apartment clear. The communication was efficient and if I stay in NYC again, this would be my number 1 choice!

Comments: My sister and I very much enjoyed our stay at Jay's lovely apartment in Chelsea on what was a combination business & pleasure trip. The location was perfect on a quiet and tree lined street accessible to transportation anywhere in the city with lots of good restaurants and services available close by in the neighborhood. We appreciated the quiet and peacefulness of the apartment located in the back of the building after long days of both work and museum hopping. The apartment was spacious and decorated in a tasteful, interesting manner with everything we needed for a wonderful trip. We especially appreciated the hosts' graciousness in providing a cheerfull greeting when we arrived in the middle of the night after both of our flight arrivals were delayed very late!

Comments: Jay's apartment was as described, in a convenient neighborhood to access all the sights NYC has to offer a tourist. It was surprisingly quiet most of the time...some construction within the building started in the early morning during the week. Jay provided insights into neighborhood eateries, things to see and do. Walking distance to the High Line, a must see for any trip to the Big Apple. From the apt you can walk, catch a bus or subway. The bed was comfy. The entire unit homey. Access to the washer and dryer was easy, and a necessity if you are traveling for any length of time. Highly recommend the unit for its location, ease of access and comfortable amenities.

The location was amazing, the French restaurant at the corner of the street was great, we are there many times in our weeks stay. Walk the other way and the high line is there for a great walk. I would highly recommend jays place. It's a really quiet apartment on the ground floor at the back of the block. The area is a quiet family irientatdd area. Comments: The apartment was just what we'd hoped for. The location was ideal for our needs and we were happy to have an attractive and roomy space to kick back and relax in between forays into the City. The kitchen was well-equipped and we appreciated that the cupboards were not bare. The shower/bath worked well. Everything was clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable. As a light sleeper, however, I was somewhat challenged by the intermittent hissing of the central heating system throughout the night. Also, we needed to open the windows to cool the place down, but this was not a problem.

Comments: Jay's apartment is even better than described. He updated the TV to a flat screen. The apartment is on the end of the building with a court yard in the back of the living room and off the bedroom. For being in the exciting part of Chelsea, it was super quiet. Also the building has a secure entrance that it accessed by a key fob and even though the apartment is on the first floor, because of the basement and court yards, it is super secure--windows not accessible from the street, not street traffic. The French bistro on 9th was wonderful, we ate lunch and dinner. The wine shop on 7th is great because NY grocery stores don't sell wine and wine is expensive by the glass unless you go to happy hours. Subways were close. Felt like a native, we walked everywhere. Definitely would return!

TIP: If you are a real coffee lover, go out the door, turn left, cross the street, and go to FIKA. TIP 2: Don't eat meat? Go out the door, turn left, turn left on 9th, go to BLOSSOM.

Comments: This place was perfect for us. I was looking for an apartment that was spacious and comfortable that would give myself and my 12 year old son a taste of real New York living and we got exactly that. Cool, chic spotlessly clean with big TV's comfy couch and hotel like bed Jay's apartment was exactly as described. His friend met us with the keys and was extremely welcoming and helpful. the location is superb, its 2 blocks from the Subway, one block from the highline and walkable distance to Chelsea Piers and Chelsea markets. Some great eateries in the location, we ate in this area most nights and the Rail Line Diner on the corner was our breakfast pit stop every day. This place is perfect for anyone looking to get more New York that a tiny hotel in time square, perfect for 3 . Neighbourhood is really safe, Subway is easy to get around on - We had a great experience in NY and this apartment made it for us - I've no hesitation in recommending it and hope its available on our next visit!

Comments: Trying to choose a place to stay in New York City can be overwhelming to say the least but we were so pleased to come across Jay's place and to find it was comfortable and exactly as described! We were met at the apartment by a friend of Jay's who allowed us to store our bags at the apartment (we arrived earlier than checkin time) and were given a key so we could come back by 2pm. The apartment had everything we needed and was quite spacious by NYC standards. It was in a great location (could walk easily up or downtown), only a short walk to the subway, great wifi and access to cable tv and Netflix as well as being super quiet. Jay's notes with suggested places to eat and instructions etc were also an extra touch that was much appreciated. Highly recommend this place!

Comments: Jay's apartment was great for us. We were met on arrival and shown around. Everything was neat and clean. It is just as it appears in the pictures (except the giant projection screen TV has been replaced with a large LED unit - one in the bedroom too.) The neighbor hood was a real delight. I've never stayed in NYC and had such quiet peaceful nights. We really liked the Rail Line Diner on 9th for breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.

Comments: Jay was in touch several times before our visit and both before and after we checked in on Thanksgiving night. The apartment was spacious, with lots of room in the living room, bedroom, and dining nook. The fact that it is on the first floor is a plus and we certainly had no concern with privacy or security (the apartment is at the rear of the building and there is plenty of space with trees to the building behind). The apartment also is extremely quiet, with few if any sounds from the tenants beside or above us. The building is clean and obviously well cared for. The neighborhood is ideal: a tree-lined street with a seminary occupying much of the other side of the street, subways within a block and a half, about 27 restaurants within a two block radius, plenty of stores nearby for anything you might need, lots of galleries on 10th Avenue and beyond, and the High Line within a block. What's not to like?

Comfy bed, good hot water supply all kitchen essentials including full oven/stove, microwave and toaster oven. Restaurants recommended were spot on. We loved Meatball, Billy’s Cakes .the Empire Diner and the French bakery one corner away on 9th, authentic French pastries and they packed an amazing Beef Burgunione to go for us. La Grainee also great. We relished our usual Museum overload, the all stars plus the petite Neue across from the Guggenheim.Austrian art including Klimt’s Woman in Gold of his cousin Adele. Do not miss a meal in their authentic Austrian cafe, best spatzle ever ! Discovered the FIT MUSEUM , a Fashion museum, free entrance that is open 12:00 to 20:00. We luckily saw “ PINK” and a fabric exhibition. Chelsea Market easily walkable on the glorious HIGHLINE. BEWARE that it is uncomfortably clogged on the weekends, at least in the afternoon. The soup take out stand is yummy. Visited Nola neighborhood and it is the most chic, highest density of SUPER ELITE shops I have ever seen and I have been to Paris many times ! I honestly felt intimidated ! Long lines for entry to restaurants were so lengthy that they barricaded access to many shops even if you wanted to buy a $200 candle ! Granted, it was a Sunday. Soho was far more civilized and Le Lauderre cafe dininitely worth a little French splurge. Winter salad of pumpkin purée topped with delicate slices of delicata squash, a full burrata, pumpkin seeds and other ingredients. My husbands morel omelette was perfect and we shared a very generous and delightful sundae of coffee ice cream with nut brittle and fresh whip cream toppings. As an avid knitter I was transfixed in Purl Soho, a knitters Mecca including a plentiful supply of Liberty fabrics , chic jewelry making supplies, unique notions and a charming staff. Upper East Side/Madison stroll still lovely. Eataly yummy and you’ll pay for it ! Then sadly, we ran out of time. Highlight was Andrea BOCELLI at Madison Square Garden ! A dreamy dream COME TRUE for me. Get thee to NYC taking comfy shoes. ALR
