Summary: Located near the Hong Kong University Campus and situated nicely in the city with public transport available nearby apartment to get all over Hong Kong. This 2 bedroom is the perfect place to stay to get some nice quiet time after a busy day in city
Space: A great offer for this fabulous location near mid levels. This 2 bedroom flat offers a large comfy double bed in each room, FREE Wifi, hair dryer, large LCD TV with entertainment DVD system. The building has an elevator direct to the apartment with just a few steps to the lobby area. Located on High Street in a laid back area and has rapidly become a hip area hosting many of the city's most creative types, it takes 8 minutes/$5 USD cab ride or 15 minutes by foot to Central. There is a 7-11 convenience store just across the street. The area is a melting pot of East meets West, with older chinese traditional buildings being surrounded by high end new luxurious developments with new restaurants, nice coffee shops, banking, shops popping up all the time. Transport is very easy through the nearby tram, buses and minibuses. Of course, the taxis in Hong Kong are most convenient and very cheap compared to other big cities like New York and London.

Neighborhood Overview:
Notes: Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.
Transit: Getting around The apartment is very close to Hong Kong University HKU so the transport in and out of the area is super convenient, with the easiest being the many buses and mini buses that whisk students and residents around all parts of Hong Kong. There is also the brand new HKU MTR line extension station that just opened in January 2015, the station is within 5-8 minute walk from the apartment building.
Access: Guests have access to: - FREE WiFi - Cable TV - Hair Dryer - Iron/Ironing Board - Microwave, Hot Water Boiler, Cooker - Towels, Sheets, Toilet Paper, Shampoo, Soap, etc.
Interaction: As much as possible or invisible if you want. I will try to meet with arriving guests and show them the area. Whenever guests need information or recommendations, I am always available via messaging or phone.
House Rules: This is a Strictly NON SMOKING Flat. UPON ARRIVAL AT PROPERTY, ALL GUESTS MUST WAIT FOR ME AT THE FRONT GATE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING. BUILDING RESIDENTS WILL COMPLAIN TO PROPERTY MANAGEMENT IF THE LOBBY AREA INSIDE BUILDING IS BLOCKED. THANKS FOR YOUR KIND UNDERSTANDING FOR AN ENJOYABLE STAY. Check in time is AFTER 12:30 pm. Make sure to contact us by phone at least 30 minutes prior to arrival such that we can meet you at the flat to hand you the keys and acquaint you to the surroundings. As this is a family business, please try your best to arrive at the apartment as early as possible. After 11:30pm as transport to the apartment is limited for us, we have to charge HKD150 to cover our taxi transport cost to and from the apartment. We are generally exhausted at the end of the day and we really would rather you arrive early and not have to charge this. Guests must wait for us OUTSIDE the building upon arrival and not enter the building without us as this causes unnecessary misunders

Comments: Brendan's space was really awesome! It was super accessible by a number of buses and minibuses which was a major plus getting all around HK island. In addition it was a very spacious area that was perfect for my two friends and I. The neighborhood had plenty of good dining options including a vegan/vegetarian spot that was a huge plus as one of the members of our party is vegan. If I go back to HK I would be sure to hit up one of Brendan's spaces!

Comments: The place is great, spacious and equipped with everything one might need, and feels like home. We had no problem with hot water, the wifi internet was fast and AC's worked well. Also, the rooftop is a very nice place to have evening tea while doing laundry. Brendan is very nice, he met us and showed us the apartment. The only issue was that I couldn't find any knives at the apartment, but thanks to that I've bought myself a folding ceramic knife at Japan Home Center nearby. Getting to Sheung Wan on foot takes time, but there are lots of buses. I would highly recommend Brendan's apartment.

Comments: On the whole, it was a pleasant stay. The location is near the university, about 10 minutes walk. The neighborhood has a good mix of both local and international food. It is accessible to central and causeway bay too. The host is very helpful and kind. I ordered a pair of yoga pants online and when i approached the host to receive the parcel on my behalf, they agreed readily :)

Comments: This is Caroline who stayed at the apartment for the period. On the whole this is a very nice set up, but the guy next door smoked so much that smell sipped in. I would recommend for any traveller to come to stay.

Comments: The apartment is, by Hong Kong standard (the standard being about the size of a shoe box), nice and spacious. It is conveniently located in one of the hottest area in Hong Kong, with the brand new MTR station 5 minutes away. The rooftop terrace is very comfortable, though it could benefit from some renovation/improvement. The view is nice, typical Hong Kong, encased between high-rises.

Comments: The perfect location for our conference at Hong Kong University. Only hiccup was checking in - we waited out in the summer heat for about half an hour before being let in. Also the beds are a tad small for 2pax unless you are petite/very good friends

Comments: The place is small (though huge compared to a typical hotel room on the island) but quite comfortable and very near both HKU and many really nice pubs/cafes/restaurants on High Street and other nearby streets. Would love to stay here again when in the area. Brend was very cordial and responsive via email - very easy to work with.

Comments: We had a great stay at Brend's lovely flat. It was exactly as described, clean and actually more spacious than we were expecting! The roof terrace is great as well and fantastic for al fresco dining/evening drinks. The flat is in a really convenient location too, great base to explore the city as only a 5 min walk from Sai Ying Pun mtr station and also walking distance to the lovely shops/bars/restaurants in trendy Sheung Wan/Soho areas. The flat is also on a very quiet street and we were surprised at how quiet the flat itself was, the only noise disturbance we had was some building works going on in the flat next door which was unfortunately just bad timing! We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this flat to others and hopefully will be back ourselves in the future! Thanks, Rosie, Simon, Joe and Lucy

Comments: Communication with Brend was very good. He provided us with a lot of information about the city and it was easy to access the apartment. He also gave us a international connector to be able to recharge our computers. The apartment is conveniently located close to the Uni. It is in general nice although smaller and older than perceived via the pictures.

Comments: I recommend this place. It is clean, the location is great (I love this area) and it is very convenient. Close to nice bars and restaurants but quiet and 5 mins away from sai ying pun MTR station. The apartment is quite small but you won't find big places in HK. It has a cool rooftop terrace. There is no washing machine but there is a laundry 5 mins away. When we first arrived to the apartment it was very cold but Brend's mom provided us additional blankets and a heater and it was perfect after that. The kitchen is very basic (hotplate, microwave, a small fridge and a kettle) but we were not cooking much anyway.

Comments: This apartment was perfect for our needs. Brend was a good communicator, and was helpful to us with a few special needs. The apartment was spotless, and everything was as described. Location is great, away from noise, yet close to great shopping and the big food market. I would stay again without a doubt.

Comments: For Hong Kong, this unit is a gem. two relatively spacious bedrooms with lovely firm double mattresses. A plethora of restaurants within one block. access to taxis easy. access to mini bus up on Bonham Road. I spent the week with my 85 year old mum and it was great. Few steps to start but not huge and then an effective lift to the top floor. Air con was effective and 2 ceiling fans were lovely. Felt very secure, lovely concierge always with a happy greeting. Sai Ying Pun is a vibrant but not pretentious community. one of those areas that are about to bust into the trend...

Comments: Probably for HK this is a good deal, not too small and has everything you need. Close to MTR. But I didn't like the noise such as water pump/traffic/kindergarden downstairs. But most of HK is noisy so this is nothing special.

Comments: We stayed here as a family of four (2 adults, 1 4 year old & 1 5 month old) and it was perfect for what we were looking for. All the amenities you need (lift, microwave, washing machine, TV & separate bedrooms!) and it was also close to the MTR and lots of restaurants/food stores. As a family, I didn't really appreciate the fact that the high street is literally that - high up the hill. As a result it's not ideal for people with a pushchair but we worked around it, and I imagine many properties across this part of Hong Kong Island will be similar due to the geography, so it's more something to be aware of. Communication with Brend was good and next time we're in HK, I'll be looking to book again.

Comments: Interesting location as the neighbourhood is undergoing some rapid gentrification. A little further down the same street there are many expat bars and restaurants. But just a few hundred metres away are local eateries and markets that keep the authentic Hong Kong hustle and bustle. Would recommend

Comments: A friend and I rented Brend’s place for almost 5 months and it was an excellent place to live. The location was perfect as it is centrally located in a great part of town that is literally across the street from many restaurants of every cuisine, a convenience store, a supermarket, and more. There is an excellent rooftop right above the apartment. It also has a working elevator which is rare and is only 4 blocks away from the HK Island Subway MTR line (either HKU or Sai Ying Pun stops). The apartment itself is exactly as pictured.. 2 bedrooms, a western style bathroom with working bathtub, kitchen with working stove and microwave, and functional pullout couch which can easily sleep 1 or 2 more. Both aircon, space heater, and water heater work perfectly as well. There is also a “doorwoman” present at the building during business hours which is nice as well (although super unnecessary). Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

Comments: Brend’s apartment was perfect! It’s just a few minutes walk from the MTR and very easy to get everywhere we wanted to go. There’s enough cafes, restaurants and supermarkets on your doorstep and central is walkable if you wanted to. The building felt very safe and secure with someone always in a security area on the ground floor. The apartment itself was exactly as advertised and was very spacious for Hong Kong. It was very clean, tidy and had the amenities we needed such as iron and ironing board. The WiFi was very good and the shower was also very good. The rooftop was a wonderful touch. Brend was very helpful from start to finish and was on hand with instant, helpful responses when we had a question (even over the festive period). Thank you Brend for a brilliant stay!

Comments: We moved here last minute and Brend was fantastic in responding. The location is a short walk to the MTR along a street full of diverse restaurants ranging from a Hong Kong cafe to bars and a wet market. We were travelling with a 3 year old and another couple and the space was perfect. The apartment is sparkling clean so it was nice to let our daughter wander around. The beds are comfortable and the sheets feel clean. A few downsides: There are quite a few stairs at the entrance so we didn't end up using our stroller (although, Hong Kong is not stroller friendly at all). Second, there isn't much space to sit and eat so don't plan on cooking full meals. We would definitely stay again for the convenient location and cleanliness of this space.

Comments: We have been to HK many times, but this was the first time we stayed as far west as the edge of Shueng wan and we were very pleasantly surprised. There were several great restaurants at our doorstep, it was quiet yet we were a short walk away form central. The apartment is clean and quiet, and Brend is a very attentive host. If you need a place to stay in HK this is much better than a hotel, especially if you're with a family.

Comments: Though the apparment is a bit older and used then on the picture, it is fully functionnal, clean and comfortable. It was a real pleasure to come back to the chilled and comfortable rooms (great AC), the western-stylish bathroom (bathtub and hot water all day long) and the well-equiped kitchen/appartment. Internet works great too. You also get a comfortable place on the rooftop to chill out after a long day. The buidling is a bit old (some facility noises) but the neighbours are mostly discrete and friendly. The neighbourhood is also great and more quiet then the famous parts. If you exit the MTR at exit A you'll find the more lively part of the neighbourhood. Brend was also answering within 15 minutes and very friendly. A great, comfortable and accessible place. Thanks again.

Comments: Brend's apartment is right on high street which has a ton of restaurants and bars. It's a great location if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of central but still have many Chinese and western places to eat and drink! The apartment was a fair price and the kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom needed a little updating but nothing that cant be fixed!

Comments: The communication with Brend was very quick, and check in and out very easy. Apartment was spacious by HK standards where spaces are small. Lots of hot water, air conditioning worked well. Very easy access to taxis which are plentiful and inexpensive. Building and street quiet, good black out shades for easy sleeping even with jet lag. We had a great stay, thank you Brend!

Comments: Brend’s apartment was great! Communication before and during our stay was fantastic—Brend was very accommodating and extremely accessible for the duration of our stay. Our stay at the apartment was between arriving in Hong Kong and moving into my own apartment so we had ALOT of luggage—there is a set of stairs from the entrance of the building after the security gate to the elevator so just be prepared—if me (29), my mom (60), and aunt (65) can lug 9 checked bags and 3 carry ons up and down those stairs you’ll be fine—I wont say it was easy but its possible. Thanks Brend for everything!

Comments: We really enjoyed our time in Brend's flat. It isn't the largest flat but 2 adults and 2 teenagers sharing beds were accommodated well and Hong Kong offers so much that we didn't spend too long in the flat. The location is great, near a MRT and all the amenities we needed and the communication and support from Brend was excellent. I would definitely recommend this flat.

Comments: Just what we expected. The apartment is bigger than the usual by HK standards. Wi-fi can be a little unstable at times in the day but decent at night! Brend was responsive even tho we didn't get to meet him in person. The stairs/slopes in the area can be a challenge and there's a little stairs walk up to the elevator in the building but shouldn't be much of an issue. Surrounded by great food nearby too!

Comments: Brend is a wonderful host! He was always very prompt with his replies to my questions, and he had a number of great suggestions of places to see, etc. His flat is a terrific bargain for staying on Hong Kong Island, and I base this on the fact that I have been coming to Hong Kong at least twice a year over the last five years. The photos of the flat are reasonably accurate, and the flat was very clean and well equipped. There is more than enough kitchen stuff to make meals if you wish. A friend and I stayed with Brend because we were attending a marine biology conference at the University of Hong Kong, and the flat is SUPER convenient to the University of Hong Kong (very close to the university’s east gate). It is also a short walk to the MTR island line, so it is easy to get anywhere. There are also lots of restaurants and markets and even a great bakery nearby. I would certainly stay there again and Brend’s flat would be my first choice if anyone asked for a recommendation of where to stay while visiting Hong Kong.
