  Comments: Where to begin? Olan is an amazing host!! He is very kind and did not treat me as a tenant but as a friend. He is definitely one of a kind. The room is very nice, clean, bright, and decorated with art, some of it created by Olan himself. The whole aparent is very comfortable and clean. The neighborhood is great. Walking distance to Chelsea market, high line and the subway. When I go back to NY I would live to stay at Olan's again, if the room is available of course!

  Comments: I found this to be a great place to stay, for three reasons: 1. The room is large, with a desk, fridge, tv, and plent of space to sprawl out. It is also decorated with lots of cool art. Further it is surprisingly quiet for a Manhattan apartment. 2. Olan and his dog were great. Olan showed me around the area, offered food, and made it a nice place to be. 3. Chelsea is a great place to stay in Manhattan which made walking home a lot shorter after heading out at night. further this apartment is close to a station covering the A, C, E & L lines so it is easy to get north/south Manhattan and across to Brooklyn very easily.

The quirky room is filled with lots of artwork and is well equipped. Olan loves to cook and we got spoilt with cooked breakfasts.   Comments: What a FABULOUS host. Olan met me when I first arrived and showed me everything in the apartment and made me feel very welcome. The next morning he was kind enough to make me a delicious breakfast. I would have no hesitation in recommending this room to you, the room is just like it looks in the photos. The artwork is quirky & fantastic and really makes it a great place to stay. The desk was a bonus for me as I had some work to do when I was not "doing" New York. The location was perfect. Right by the E line at 14th St/8th Av and easy walking distance to Union Square as well as all the great bars & restaurants of Chelsea, Meatpacking DIstrict & West Village. Make sure you take a walk along the Highline as well.

Olan is himself an artist with southern hospitality, delicious breakfasts and snacks (the room was stocked full of snacks, fruit, and water), and a SUPER comfortable bed. I ended having to work quite a bit from the room while there and Olan (and his animals) offered me the right mix of privacy and conversation breaks. Plus, the location is perfect with Chelsea Market, The High Line park, hip restaurants, and convenient subway access. Highly recommend!

Olan is a great host; he cooked breakfast for me, with different menu each day! He is accommodating and gives great tips about the city. Al the dog and Tuxie the cat like to visit the room and I love them. However if you don't like pets in the room you can always keep them out. The apartment is well-located for exploring the city.   Comments: I couldn't have had a better stay in NY than I did with Olan. The room is perfect, and exactly as described. Olan is an excellent host, and welcomed me into his home. He even cooked breakfast every day. It's a great location, too, very close to subway stops that can take you to all parts of the city, and Chelsea is a lovely location itself, with so much to see and do. If I'm ever in New York again, I'll be sure to stay with Olan.

  Comments: Every minute at Olan's apartment is a gift! You get much more than you see in the picture. Perfect location to travel anywhere. Meat Packing district is very hip and artistic area, tons of good restaurants and interesting fashion boutique. If you want to be inspired and get tons of good energy, this is the place to be. Olan is such a wonderful host, he is very intelligent and interesting person. While I was there, he made me a breakfast (very nice presentation and yummy!) and a fridge full of juices, water and yogurts. Also you have a microwave to yourself. The bed is very cozy and clean. This place really makes me feel home. I am also an animal lover. Tuxy (cat) and Al (dog) will be your best friends, they are wonderful to be around :)

  Comments: Olan is a great host - I mean, he makes you breakfast in bed! The room is great, you have more than enough space, snacks, TV, a desk and the bed is super comfortable! Just bear in mind that there is no elevator (luckily the housemate helped me with my suitcase - so it wasn't really a biggie for me) and it definitely is an artsy apartment, so if you are expecting a sleek, modern and smooth surfaced apartment, this is probably not the place for you. Finally, the area is amazing, heart of meatpacking with the Chelsea market on your doorstep. I'd recommend it any day.

  Comments: Hi everyone! Ive been at Olan place for 30 days. The white room was quite big and comfy. It has fridge, microwave, TV and coffe maker, all you may need for a pleasant and privacy stay. Although I had to share the bathroom, always was free for me!. I have to thank Olan for the nice breakfast that some days he prepared for me as well as fresh chicken soup in those cold days. It was very kind of him. Also Herald helped me a lot with the suitcase and laundry. Thanks!. However, without doubt the best of this private room is the location. 15th street, just a couple of minutes walking to chelsea market and subways. A very nice and cool area to enjoy your stay in Manhattan. Very close of everything and well communicated. I highly recommend it!

  Comments: It was the best Christmas experience! We spent a week at Olan's place! Olan fixed delicious breakfast for us everyday, I really appreciate for his kindness! The room was cozy and comfy, has everything such as snacks and fresh towels! I felt like home there! The Chelsea neiborhood is very nice, it has all the things I need. The location is great, I went to a lot of art galleries and restaurants by walking. I hope I could stay longer here, with Olan and his two cute pets!   Comments: Wow! Even after all of the rave reviews, I was blown away by Olan's caring, generous hosting. He could not have been kinder, more generous or more considerate. He made us breakfasts, provided snacks and even quality DVDs for when it got just too cold outside! The room is just like the picture, the bed comfy, with luxurious sheets. There is a lovely sense of light in the room and the sunshine comes in. By Manhattan standards the room is large. The location is fabulous, with a subway station about a block away, the Chelsea markets less than a block away and the Highline about the same. Olan has effectively converted the lounge room into another bedroom (which he has). This means there isn't a lounge room, only bedrooms and a computer nook connected by hallways. There is also the reality of a small space with dog + cat. Ie, the cat's food bowl is on the bench and there is a pee mat for Al the dog, in the kitchen (old dogs need concessions). If you can manage with those realities, I highly recommend. The apartment was clean and delightfully arty, our room squeaky clean, and Olan as a host was simply knock your socks off, 5 star.

  Comments: Olan is a superhero of Airbnb for his hospitality, wonderful personality and beautiful apartment suite. The sunny art room was a great place for me to rest, think and work for a month. I loved the small mini-kitchen area where Olan stocked water, snacks and delicious chocolate for me, as well as the desk where I found myself amazingly productive and inspired. Olan cooked breakfast for me, which I loved, and we bonded over Game of Thrones weekly since Olan has HBO. Al the dog and Tuxie the cat were lovely creatures and it was great to have pets for a month! The location is convenient to the subway, Chelsea Market, restaurants and two organic juice bars, which made me very happy. I feel that not only did I find a place to stay, I also made a friend.   Comments: I had a great stay in Olan's Art Room. Olan is a generous and interesting host, very kind, and makes great breakfasts! The room is very comfortable, and I was greeted with fresh fruit, chocolates, and a small fridge stuffed with complementary snacks, juices and water. There is a coffee maker, cereal, and other amenities, all most considerately supplied. The bed is very comfortable, and I made steady use of the writing desk. Internet service was updated while I was there, and was fast and convenient. Olan is very sensitive to allowing one privacy, but also warm and open to conversation. In all, I was very comfortable and relaxed in this room, and very much enjoyed my time there. The location is fantastic for the Village and the west side.

  Comments: I do not know where to start, actually. I arrived in New York City as a stranger in hope to find a place to get to know the city and to relax - and that is exactly what Olan has provided me with. Not only is the apartment cozy, welcoming and granted with an unique atmosphere, it is also the home of a wonderful host and his two companions Tuxie and Al ( a cat and a dog ). That being said, Olan made me feel like I was at home from the very right beginning. The spacious art room is equipped with everything you need - and even more. Even though the location is in the middle of everything, it is completely quiet and you will eventually sleep like a baby. Also, Olan was extremely helpful. He gave me great advice, which helped to find a solution for any question/issue I had on my way. It was extremely easy to get along with Olan and somehow the feeling of being a stranger in such a big city as New York suddenly fell flat after I entered Olan's warmhearted hospitality. I was really sad when it was time for me to leave - even though it was just a week, I made a new friend, who will probably last for a long time. I highly recommend Olan's place - whether you want company or time for yourself - this is the place to be ! No doubt about that !

  Comments: Olan is a wonderfully happy host. He set me at ease with speedy email responses. He shared loads of info on his neighborhood and as soon as I got in we walked the handsome Big Al, jack russell terrier, which gave me the lay of the land. Olan cooked me the most colorful, amazing breakfasts! I stayed alone the first few days and it's valuable to know that I felt very safe. The studio is very bohemian artsy with enough room for two adults. My boyfriend Frank arrived midway through the week and loved the cat Tuxie, Big Al and Olan. With the way the studio is set up Frank and I felt like we had enough privacy, felt lucky we had enough snacks and water yet wanted to leave the door open to share our experiences with Olan. We will definitely stay with Olan again and recommend his studio to others!

  Comments: First of all, Olan is such an attentive and generous host and we loved staying with him for our time in New York! He is a super host for a very good reason. He was very kind to us with Check In and Check Out times, which was hugely helpful and greatly appreciated. Our every need was catered for with breakfast in the mornings and a mini fridge with snacks and drinks. He was always full of good information for the area and tips and tricks for the city. Getting around was a breeze - his place is in an amazing location, you're walking distance to all the best spots in the downtown area. It's also incredibly close to the Subway line, which has express and local trains running every 5-10 minutes. We are so glad to have stayed with him and will definitely be coming back again! You can really tell the love and attention he puts into each guest coming to stay and we highly recommend him to anyone

  Comments: Since I couldn't find reviews written in Japanese, I'll be writing! 日本語のﾚﾋﾞｭｰがあまり見当たらなかったので書こうと思います｡ 今回年末から年始にかけて8日間程滞在したのですが､とても良い部屋でした!部屋は彼の書いたｱｰﾄで溢れていてとてもおしゃれで､ﾎｽﾄのｵﾗﾝも優しく､彼は犬と猫を1匹ずつ飼っているのですが2匹とも可愛いかったです｡ただｱﾚﾙｷﾞｰの方は気を付けて下さいね｡ 場所もﾐｯﾄﾞﾀｳﾝにもﾌﾞﾙｯｸﾘﾝにも繋がる便利なところにあるのでとても移動しやすかったです｡すぐ近くにPharmacy という24時間営業のｺﾝﾋﾞﾆみたいなところもありました｡それと毎朝出てくる朝ご飯も美味しかったです｡ ｵﾗﾝはｺﾐｭﾆｹｰｼｮﾝも取りやすいしゆっくりと話すので英語に自信がなくてもきっと大丈夫だと思います｡ 実はこのｱﾊﾟｰﾄは2部屋あって､こちらは大きい方の部屋ですが､特に広さを求めないならもう一つの部屋が少し安いのでそちらも良いかもしれません｡他にも困った事があったりちょっとしたことでも彼は助けてくれるので､とても良い部屋だと思います!   Comments: I stayed at Olan's apartment for much of February and March, and I totally recommend the apartment and experience. Olan is friendly, accommodating and warm, and a true friend and great host. He provides hand picked welcome packs to guests, and even made me breakfast on several occasions! He has a friendly dog and a cute cat, and the apartment is in a great location in West Village/ Greenwich Village (close to cafes, bars, great shopping etc). The room itself is clean, large and private, with a desk and couch that enable you to work from home when you need to :) Olan is also a great host because he lives that WV/ GV lifestyle, with his roles and active life in theatre, film and TV, as well as his work in fashion and photography. So particularly for people new to New York, he is happy to share his experiences and provide a window into those cultures. Olan is a great host and friend and I would enthusiastically recommend his home to anyone. I would also be happy to stay there again in the future!

  Comments: We just came back from our phantastic holiday in New York and a very lovely stay at Olan's place. Olan was an awesome, fun and friendly host. We really had the best time there and always felt very easy and welcome. He just did everything to make us happy and comfort us. Especially the breakfast was beyond any expectations (pancakes, quiche, eggs, fresh juices, coffee or yogurth with fruits). The room ist just perfect in size and the bed was so comfy. You can hang your clothes, eat/study/write at the desk, watch tv/videos or relax on the couch. Olan prepared lots of fresh fruits, drinks and we could also make our own tea or coffee. The location in West Village/Greenwich Village is absolutely perfect. You have so many good and also famous/hip restaurants, brand shops, Chelsea market, the Whitney Museum, subway, bike rentals and the Hudson river within a few minutes walk. We also got along very well with the little dog and cat. They were fun and friendly and made us even more feel like home. Olan is a great, fun and very interesting guy. Working on Little films, doing fashionshoots, acting and his paintings are really nice. You can always have a great, fun and interesting talk with him. We are still laughing about some of the stories. And he really can tell you interesting things about the City or where to go. This was such a great AirBnB experience and we fully recommend Olan an his lovely, artistic place. Thank you soo much. We would love to stay there again.

  Comments: I don't know where to start...... My stay in NYC with Olan has been the most incredible experience. The apartment is super cool, artsy, yet homely. Olan looked after me as if I was family and surprised me every morning with the most amazing breakfasts. He was always available to help and advise with any questions I had about the city. The location is just perfect, close to very cool shops, restaurants, Chelsea Market and the subway. Olan is a very talented artist and actor and I was lucky enough to have been involved in his work whilst I was there. His dog and cat are gorgeous and they truly adore him. He was flexible with check in and check out times as my flight was delayed. The only problem with check out was that I was devastated to be leaving. In summary it was just perfect. I can't thank Olan enough.

  Comments: Olan's room is seriously amazing, and you will NOT find a listing this high-quality for the price, especially considering the location. Super close to the A/C/E, 1/2/3, and L subway lines, and a short walk from the High Line and Chelsea Market. The room itself has great decorations, a comfy sofa AND loft bed, plus ample space. Lots of snacks and amenities provided too! The high-powered AC was a big plus for me (seeing as I visited during a late-summer heat wave). Also Olan himself is really nice and provides useful tips (and his cat and dog are very friendly). Highly recommended overall, I had a great experience.

  Comments: Olan is an exceptionally welcoming host who greets you warmly and goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The room is clean, tidy and has a small fridge, couch and loft bed with television. Olan provides a wide variety of complementary snacks and drinks including a Kurieg coffee machine and fruit bowl. Olan is mindful of any dietary restrictions you may have. There is a window with view of the city street and while I stayed there was no noise assuring a restful night. Olan has decorated the home with furnishings, rugs and amnesties that give it a homely feel and his artwork certainly livens up the space. It is important to note that access to the room requires passing through Olan's living area space that he shares with his cat and small dog, separated by a hanging sheet. This includes when visiting the restroom and is not a problem as Olan respects your privacy and space. Just be careful not to trample his friendly pets during the night. Pets will not enter your room so long as you keep your door closed. The listing does state that the bathroom and kitchen are shared. In the bathroom is a variety of liquid soaps, shampoos and other products that can be used. The room features soft and comfortable bedding with many pillows and plentiful thick towels. There's a hanging space for your clothing near the window and several touch activated lamps in the room to create the desired ambience. The location is superb with a gourmet local market nearby and a subway entry that is less than 10 minutes to times square and Broadway. The apartment is one flight of stairs up with two security doors for entry to the complex. I felt that my valuables were perfectly safe being stored while I was out during the day. Olan makes a superb breakfast in the morning and is happy to have a chat if you so wish. I highly recommend this property as a place to stay whether it's your first time in Manhattan or returning. I certainly will be looking to stay here again if I'm fortunate to visit from Australia again in the near future. A fantastic AirBnB location.

  Comments: Olan's place became our New York home for a week. The location was perfect at such a lovely corner of Meatpacker and Chelsea, just tucked away from the bustle, but no more than 3 minutes walk from Chelsea market. Just across the street is the stairs down to the subway, which was so simple to use and became valuable as we explored the rest of Manhattan. Next to the apartment building is also a great coffee shop! Because its location you had the pick of the best restaurants/bars this area has to offer. Olan went above and beyond as host. He gave us great tips of what to see and when to visit certain locations to avoid the crowds. He also makes excellent breakfasts! We did not want for anything during our stay, our fridge was stocked up, there was great snacks, fresh towels, bathrobes and even use of fresh toiletries. We felt very well taken cared of. The loft itself is so very comfortable with lots of space and looks onto the street. It's bright and airy and big enough for two people to relax in without being on top of each other. We made friends with Big Al (cute dog!) and Tuxie (aloof but affectionate cat) and they weren't an issue at all. I am so glad that we were able to book and stay with Olan and recommend this room and him as host if you ever decide to stay in this part of Manhattan.

  Comments: I had a really happy and relaxed time at Olan's. He, Big Al and Tuxie became like room buddies and it was like staying with a friend, who I could chat to and completely be myself with. It sure helps to love animals to stay here! I also loved hearing about the range of Olan's fascinating creative projects, it felt I was in the middle of the scene! I loved my cosy room with its hideaway snug loft bed, and all the details like touch lighting, a generously stocked fridge, masses of fruit, coffee machine and plentiful linens. Olan brings a fabulous breakfast in every morning, with healthy juice, fruit and yoghurt plus a cooked component with tomatoes and avocados. You won't go hungry staying here! All in all I'd recommend Olan's to those with an open mind and creative spirit. He is an extremely generous host.

  Comments: Olan is an actor and had a gig on the day I arrived, but he communicated that via emails and his friend Betty met me at the door with the keys. The location is wonderful. It's only 1/2 a block away from the Chelsea Market with Metro stops near by. Olan is an amazing host and person. He made me breakfast one morning (which was delicious) and stocked the fridge in my room to the brim with snacks and drinks. A plate of fresh fruits and a Keurig machine (with pods) were also in my room. The bed was very comfortable and clean towels were alway available. Olan is also an artist and the rooms are stocked with his amazing work. A very nice stay.

  Comments: Olan is adorable and I had the BEST time staying with him at his apartment. I actually chose Olan's place because there was a dog and cat living there. This always adds something special for me and of course I totally fell in love with Big Al and Tuxie the cat. The apartment itself is perfectly situated. You are minutes away from everything, and the interior is a wonderful hot potch of paintings and textiles. I loved my room - it had everything I needed, and when I arrived Olan had filled my fridge with veggie snacks, and had really taken time to think about what I would like. Most days he brought me beautiful breakfast on a tray and was always around to give advice or a helping hand. In fact he even went out on New Year's Day and got me provisions for my self induced hangover. Just the kindest loveliest man. I adored staying here, but if you're an animal lover and love art and artists this is the only place in Manhattan you should ever stay.

  Comments: I stayed in Olan's place for 4 months and I really enjoyed my time there. Olan prepared food in my fridge before my arrival and the room also had a coffee machine. The room is quiet, clean, private and artistic. I really like his paintings on the wall. The apartment is in a great location: Chelsea market is in a minute walking distance; there are multiple subways and many restaurants in the neighborhood. Olan is really friendly and warm-hearted. His dog AL and cat Tuxie are adorable and friendly. I would like to stay in Olan's place next time when I visit NYC and I would recommend Olan's place to anyone who hopes to have a great experience in NYC!

  Comments: LOVED IT!!! We stayed in the larger of the two rooms available at Olan's place and I cannot express how in love I fell with the room. It is everything I would ever want in my own NYC apartment if I ever decided to move there. It really made me feel like I was getting the full NY experience rather than staying in a hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. I love pillows and this room had so many fluffy pillows. Our mini fridge was fully stocked with waters and other beverages. He was also kind enough to set out numerous snacks for us to enjoy during our stay. In our room were also robes, slippers, mouthwash, lotions. There was no detail that Olan didn't think of. I would definitely stay again. I loved how friendly and welcoming Olan was. He was always available for any questions that we had. But if I'm being honest Big Al (dog) and Tuxie (cat) stole were the icing on the cake! They are the cutest little pair and I loved how they greeted us every morning before we left for the day and every night when we came back. They are so friendly and it made our stay with Olan that much better.

He cooked my friend and I lovely welcome breakfast and provided a wonderful range of snacks and a fridge full of bottled water. Olan's apartment is full of creativity and artistic flare. His pets are lovely and fun to have around. I very much enjoyed hanging out with Olan and enjoyed our chats. Olan also went out of his way to post a pair of jeans to my home address. I'd ordered them from a local shop and they didn't arrive before I left Olan's. Now I'm home miss Olan calling out 'welcome home' when I came back from a long day sightseeing.

  Comments: If you want to stay in a cosy bohemian artist's apartment with a cat and a dog, you'll love this place. I had a great time here. Olan is very friendly, excentric, super easy going, even though he sleeps in the common area you can come and go as you please without disturbing him. The room is big for one person, you sleep on a mezzanine, which is really nice, you have your comfy space away from the streets.....I loved watching movies and drawing up there. The neighborhood is amazing, it's safe to walk here anytime of the night. All in all I can only recommend this place, it's funky and I felt right at home living among three sweet boys :) thanks for the great stay guys. * I get eczema from cat and dog hair so I just didn't let them in the room, it was not an issue. They are also not allowed in the bathroom. But if you don't like animals, this might not be the best place for you ~

  Comments: What a perfect stay! Of course the location/room/apartment are absolutely incredible (see all the other reviews!) but Olan himself is what made our stay so special. We always felt completely at home and very well looked after - when I arrived with a bad cough Olan plied me with vitamins, homemade chicken soup, and other treats (and it worked - I got better in a few days!). Could not recommend his place highly enough. We had an amazing trip, Olan and the pets are wonderful company, and we’re looking forward to going back one day!

  Comments: Ok guys, we literally cannot rave about this place, and Olan, enough. We’ll start with the loft - the space is super cute, trendy, and spotless. The location is AMAZING! So close to everything, all the trendy neighbourhoods, Greenwich, Chelsea and Soho to name a few, are walking distance away including all the fantastic places to eat around the place - too many for us to get through! The subway is at the corner and only one or two stops away from the big attractions. And now, Olan. Ah we love this guy. He made us feel so at home. So friendly and always went out of his way no matter what. Stayed up for us to welcome us when we arrived in 3 hours late, prepared us a home cooked breakfast the morning after we arrived (which was deliscious by the way), got up at 4am to see us off (who does that!?) and always had insider tips, tricks and recommendations for anything and everything if we ever needed some guidance. Honestly, we couldn’t ever thank him enough. We had the best time here. If you’re looking for a spot in NYC, this is it. You won’t regret it :)

  Comments: Living with Olan was a unique experience that I really enjoyed. Olan is an artist and film-maker who has lived in the area for many years. He's also really friendly and a genuinely great host who cares about making sure you're comfortable and properly taken care of. The location can't be beaten if you're working at (Hidden by Airbnb) (it's a 30 second walk to the 8th ave entrance). There are many amenities in the apartment, including a fridge and AC. The bed is really comfortable, and Olan has a bunch of good pillows. The AC unit is quite good and managed to keep the room cool even on the hottest summer days. The room itself is really pretty and full of interesting art that makes it charming. Olan also has two wonderful pets, Mr. Al (a Jack Russell / Corgi) and Tuxie (a cat). Both are quite friendly and easy to get along with. The bathroom is also very clean, and there's a shower and many soaps/shampoos to use. Olan lives in the apartment, so you're staying at an actual home that has been properly taken care of and has all of the amenities you would expect. This made living here feel more like being Olan's roommate, which was a great part of the experience. Overall I really enjoyed my stay with Olan and strongly recommend his apartment to anyone staying in New York.

The location is just perfect-right by Chelsea market, lots of places to shop/eat, subway station on the street - perfect location!! Now Olan... an incredibly kind hearted, thoughtful host. When I wasn't well he got ready to go out and get me ginger and lemon. He had my fridge stocked with things he knew I would like and made me the best guacamole I've ever had! He knows when to engage and when to let you have your space - and is truly wanting his guests to have the best best possible time during their stay.   Comments: Olan is a very kind, educated, sensitive and caring person. From the first moment he gets the needs of his guests and make them feel at home. The location is amazing (50 mt from subway) and - if like to walk - in 15/30 minutes you can reach time square or Soho. I would choose again his place and - considering the overall experience - I would say that the price is very fair. And, last but not least, his pets give a touch of extra coziness to the place.
