Comments: We loved our stay at Erik's surfer shack. We were the first Airbnb guests to stay there, and we definitely will return. Erik is a seasoned Airbnb host with multiple other places, and his experience shows in the great hospitality. The surfer shack is well decorated, and has everything you need to enjoy a night or a week on the North Shore. It's really conveniently located to Haleiwa, which we loved, and we enjoyed the close restaurants and beaches. There's a small kitchen area with a full size fridge, pans, and dishes, in case you want to cook in house. You can eat inside at the dining table, or outside on the picnic table on the patio that's fenced in for privacy. The queen-size bed is super comfortable - it definitely was better than "shack" might make you think! The outdoor bathroom and shower were charming. There are windows and screens all around the top part of the building, so we could hear the ocean and see the stars at night, without having bugs flying in all over the place. Erik was super friendly and a great host. We loved our stay, and would definitely recommend this place to others!

Comments: The surf shack on the North Shore was an idyllic getaway from the bustle of Waikiki. Our walk to the beach was quick and a trip to the family bakery was the perfect way to start each of our three mornings here. There were a few bugs lurking around, but nothing we didn’t expect! We’ll be longing for the outdoor shower the moment we get back to Seattle.

Comments: We had a great time at The Surf Shack! It was adorable and in a great location! The farm was beautiful and the shack had plenty of privacy. Sadly, Erik was out of town and we were not able to tour the farm. Hopefully when we come next we will be able to. The shower and toilet are outside and completely private. It was so refreshing to shower outside and enjoy the warm weather and birds chirping. I recommend staying here to anyone looking for a comfortable, cute, and relaxing place. Thanks Erik!

Comments: If you want to stay near the north shore this place is awesome. It’s in a great location, secluded but only around 10ish minutes from Haleiwa and not far from the beautiful beaches of the north shore. This place is perfect! We slept great, the bed was super comfortable and the indoor/outdoor shower was my favorite! Would definitely stay here again!

Comments: Erik’s place was a true gem - we absolutely loved it! Erik contacted us before arriving so he could be sure the Surfers Shack was clean in time for our arrival as the guests before us requested a late check out, and did a self check in with us over the phone. This Airbnb is in a great neighborhood - an easy walk to the local beach, and a quick drive to many others. Very quiet and convenient. If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, this is an excellent option. If we find ourselves on Oahu again, we’ll be staying here again! Mahalo, Erik!

Comments: This is a great spot for a retreat and an excellent location for exploring the north shore. The surfer farm shack is exactly that: simple with some cool touches, cozy, and on a farm. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the property affords some nice views of the nearby mountain range. The house itself has a bed, small dining table, outdoor picnic table, refrigerator, basic cooking supplies and dishes, fan, outdoor shower that is well enclosed and private.

Comments: This is the perfect spot for people trying to stay somewhere quaint and local to the North Shore. Erik and his family were awesome. They were extremely accommodating, just ask. A perfect place for people who don’t need too much but just want to experience the culture of a humble agricultural style living. We traveled almost everyday, using it as our hub and when we went to Honolulu we couldn’t wait to return to the surfers shack. Minutes walk away from the beach, which is swimmable. Grocery store within a bicycle distance away. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the Norh Shore. Plus, there’s actually a car rental place in town. Look them up.

A block from a nice beach as well. We loved staying here and Erik was a great host! We will be back soon!

Comments: THIS PLACE IS SO PEACEFUL! Minutes from Haleiwa and Waialua but separate enough for "country life" peace and quiet. The bungalow made you feel cozy and cared for without all the hustle and bustle of others being around. The outdoor shower is a dream! Such peace giving and such calmness. We will be back! It was just so magical!

Comments: This space was exactly what we needed for our North Shore adventure. The shack was only a 5-10 minute walk from the beach and only 25 minute drive to our absolute favorite north shore town on the island, Haleiwa. We were also a super close drive to all the big wave beaches hosting the Vans Triple Crown. You could hear the waves crashing at night and it was absolutely magical. My favorite part of the shack was the simplicity of it and all the bright colors decorating the space. They even had a tiny tabletop Christmas tree that really made it that much better. Thank you so much to Erik and his family for hosting us. We couldn’t have had a better time.

Comments: We stayed 3 nights and we never met Erik. We arrived at the property a bit later than our expected ETA and when we arrived it was unclear what to do, just a sign on the property that said ‘Stop and call Erik for instructions’. Our phones don’t work in Hawaii and we didn’t have access to Internet. We had to drive to find wifi to contact Erik for him to give us instructions to check in. It could have been a lot less hassle, if instructions were clear before we arrived especially for those without a working phone or internet access. We did enjoy the location, away from tourists on the North Shore. Mahalo :)
