  Comments: Not only is the location beautiful, Kalani and Lisa were both very kind and welcoming. It was wonderful being 15 minutes from Hilo International and 5 minutes from the beach. The volcano and some really cool hot springs are also less than an hour away. Their puppy Iwa was one of the highlights of our stay, she was always so happy to us! I definitely plan to visit again.

Beautiful walk through the forests with bridges and waterfalls brings you to beach access. Great spot for surfers and beach lovers alike. Hosts are very sweet and the puppy love (they have an adorable Cairn Terrier) makes the stay all the better!

  Comments: Beautiful spot! Was exeptionally clean and well taken care of, we didn’t have time to use the pool or hot tub but both looked amazing! Location is very close to Hilo airport. Kalani is very friendly and quick to respond, and let us borrow some snorkeling equipment for the day. Also their little dog Eva is so precious! Had a great stay, definitely recommend.

  Comments: We recommend this lovely retro cottage. Hosts are very responsive and a new puppy in the main house can visit if you need an animal fix. Out of the busy downtown - but easy to drive the short distance to Kona, or take an Uber as we did. Mahalo!!

  Comments: Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Hilo! My husband and I stayed here two nights. The private room/house was just as described! There were great views of Hilo from the house (including a distant view of the lava). Home location was not impacted at all by the volcano; very safe distance away. The house was also very close to downtown Hilo, an easy 10 minute drive down the street. Kalani and Lisa are fantastic hosts! They will give you great tips on things to do. Thanks for a great stay!

  Comments: We stayed at Kalani and Lisa's place just one night but it would be perfect for a longer stay in the Hilo area as they're close to town. The space is cozy and impeccably arranged, and we found it very comfortable. I was able to meet Kalani and Lisa, who are lovely people - kind, quick to respond, and quite flexible, they made us feel very much at home. They also provided recommendations for running routes and even let my wife borrow a surfboard to check out the local surfing spot! We have been missing our own dogs on this trip so it was a delight to get to spend some time with their puppy Iwa. Definitely recommend this Airbnb for your stay in Hilo!

It is secluded and quiet and yet super close to Hilo with its shops and restaurants. It is also easy access heading north as well towards Waipi’o Valley. We would definitely stay here again.

  Comments: Kalani and Lisa have a cool pool house. Two great comfortable beds instead of the usual sofa bed/1 bed combo which was a treat. They have a friendly playful dog who will keep you amused. A lovely beach within walking distance that surprisingly avoids the highway. Such a pity Hurricane Lane prevented us from making the most of the place, though I definitely enjoyed an early morning dip in the pool when we still had the lovely ocean view!

There is beautiful, lush landscape in this area, that made us feel like we were sleeping in a dream. Information for our stay was incredibly quick and thorough, especially as we book the afternoon of our arrival. I would definitely recommend this spot to others.

Some noise in the evening from local wildlife (frogs maybe???), but was a calming sound - I suspect this will be the same wherever you stay in Hilo.

  Comments: Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Kalani & Lisa's place. However, we were a bit unfortunate with the timing of our stay at Kalani & Lisa's place. They happen to have had contractor work on the deck being done the day that we arrived so we did not have access to the great pool (for the first day) and hot tub (for our stay). Kalani and Lisa were responsive to this issue and had worked to address some of the problems. Otherwise, everything was great. Close to Hilo and the beach were a big bonus.

Walking distance to the beach and waterfalls. 5 minutes to downtown for shopping and food. Convenient location, loved the hot tub option and pool was so clean and refreshing. I arrived in the dark after a long day and night of traveling and so what a lovely surprise to wake up to the sun rising above the ocean from the bedroom window. The pool and hot tub are the perfect place to relax and unwind and the location is great for Hilo and other towns close by. I did not meet Lisa & Kalani however all instructions given fo check in were clear and easy. I definitely recommend staying here.

  Comments: This pool house is terrific! Perfectly located with a beautiful view, this guest home has all the modern touches along with maintaining its original charm and architecture. The guest quarters had ample space-and while it is disclosed in description, it is worth noting that there is only a coffee maker and mini fridge in the room itself. We ate out most meals, so this was perfect for our needs. But, considering there are two beds in the house, if you have a family, there isn’t a microwave/toaster or way to keep warm foods warm-didn’t pose an issue for us. Also, there is no TV (again no problem for us, we just happened to be exhausted on our last night and opted to stay in). We had a laptop so we were able to connect to wifi and watch hulu/netflix on our last night-nice and relaxing. The hosts are super friendly, very very communicative and gave us wonderful tips and recommendations during our stay. We were beyond grateful for the pool and hot tub-It was the key factor in selecting this house versus others, and it didn’t disappoint! We highly recommend this property for the amenities and location.

  Comments: Lisa & Kalani's place is well located a few miles north of Hilo in a quiet neighborhood. They have a nice pool & hot tub. Lisa & Kalani were very responsive and generous hosts (let me borrow one of their surfboards) and went out of the way to make sure we were comfortable - they provided us with extra linens when we requested them, and were kind enough to invite us to share dinner with them on Valentine's Day. I definitely recommend their place.
