The apartment is located within a 10 minute stroll from the Bedford Ave L stop; as mentioned in the ad there are endless choices for restaurants, bars, live music and shops. The place itself is as listed -- very stylishly decorated with fantastic views over lower Manhattan and the Williamsburg Bridge. You can also access the buildings rooftop. Bed was very comfy and we also used the fold-out in the lounge which was great. Russell was a great host. He left detailed instructions on how to access the property -- it was all very secure and thorough. The apartment was cleaned upon our arrival with plenty of towels and extra sheets. We didn't take him up on neighbourhood recommendations as we know the area but he was very willing to help! All in all a great AirBnb experience, and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a stylish and central Williamsburg location.

  Comments: We had never used Airbnb before (despite hearing about it everywhere) so when we decided to go to New York for NYE we thought we would give the site a go. As the first apartment we had rented from the site I have to say it couldn't have been better. The flat itself is very stylish, clean and has incredible views of the city. The photos don't actually do it justice! Entry to the apartment itself was made really easy and we were also given the code for the wifi, which is always a bonus when abroad. The area is amazing. Having always stayed in Manhattan when travelling to New York, we didn't know what to expect from Brooklyn, but Williamsburg is fantastic and we will be going back to stay in the area again. The apartment is in a perfect location, in easy reach of Bedford Avenue where all the main amenities are. Russell was also kind enough to give us a list of bars and restaurants to try around the area, which proved to be very helpful. Russell was a brilliant host and was very flexible to our needs given we had to leave quite late on the return journey home. Would definitely go back and also recommend to friends and family!

His flat is decorated with great taste, very comfortable- even for 4 people - the view on Manhattan skyline is breathtaking, the location is ideal - close to so many cool restaurants, cafes and stores at the heat of Williamsburg - we simply loved it and want to come back in springtime, as it should be even nicer , enabling us to enjoy his terrace.   Comments: The apartment is nice, spacious and stylish, in a great location close to local restaurants and bars, and 10 minutes walk from the nearest subway station. The living area is comfortable, well lit, with a good TV and fast internet connection. The balcony has a good view on Manhattan skyline, and might be really enjoyable in warmer days. Kitchen and Bathroom are well equipped, and the smaller bedroom was comfortable. Disregarding the bit of inconvenience during check in and key pickup, and the miss-communication regarding the apartment smoking policy, Russell has been a great host, keeping his place in great condition and helpful in providing recommendations for the nearby attractions, and I believe we managed to settle all differences properly and smoothly. It has been an overall pleasant stay.

  Comments: Russell's place is gorgeous and optimally located -- one short subway stop away from Manhattan. The apartment is filled with natural light and is clean, artfully appointed, and well cared for. It is, seemingly, at the epicenter of great food in Brooklyn. We especially loved The Heyward. The Smorgasburg (Saturday food flea market) was close by. The shower, WiFi, TV, heat / fan and appliances all worked and were easy to deploy. Building trash and recycling were steps away from the apartment door. Russell made key pick-up super easy. It was a true pleasure spending ten days in a beautifully curated, clean, well-functioning and perfectly located home away from home.

Russell isn't a great communicator but he has a really nice apartment. He said we can leave the luggage on check-out-day but changed his mind only the night before. To find the key with his description was a bit adventurous, the internet didn't work and wasn't fixed but we did get the neighbour's password, so all good in the end.

  Comments: The apartment was wonderful! It was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. It was clean and it had the loveliest huge terrace with tables for 6+ and two great chaises! Plenty of dishes and wine glasses! The views especially at night are wonderful. You can walk to so many restaurants and the subway isn't far at all. You can also park your car very near or even outside the building. Williamsburg is much quieter than Manhattan! Will go back and stay there again!

The sleeping accommodation in the living room is quite small. It was fine for our two teenagers but wouldn't be great for 2 adults. The bed was literally the most comfortable I have ever slept in from the pillows to the sheets, to the comforter. I even wrote down the brand names to find some myself! The neighborhood was absolutely perfect. It is located in a great spot, we walked everywhere and I didn't even want to go into Manhattan. We would stay here very time we visit if possible!

  Comments: Once again, staying at Russell's was great. There was a little miscommunication with his cleaning help, as she went to his other air Bnb instead of this one. We explained the situation to Russell, describing that the place was somewhat messy when we arrived. He was extremely apologetic and the cleaning help came right away. Thus, Russell is extremely accommodating and accessible, as he is quick to respond. Again, the place is absolutely lovely. The rooftop and location are prime.

  Comments: Russell´s apartment was great, just as the pictures show it. It is 0 minutes to the metros stop, which is only one stop away from Manhattan. The instructions to get into the place were simple and easy. However, when we arrived, the apartment had not yet been cleaned. I tried calling Russell but had no immediate response. Sent an email and he responded quite quickly, and in the afternoon someone very nice came by to clean the place. A couple more things, the terrace is awesome, but shared with the adjoining apartment. And for people travelling in a larger group (not just one couple) the bathroom is en suite, inside the bedroom, something that might be uncomfortable for some people. All in all, the apartment was a great experience. Wifi worked great, cable TV also. All the appliances were top of the line.

  Comments: Russell has a perfectly spotless, guest friendly apartment, with a patio that includes a pretty terrific view. We were quite comfortable staying there. The place looks exactly like the photo, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable too, which helped us get enough rest to keep playing while we visited Brooklyn. During out short, two night visit, we explored the neighborhood shopping, and dining. We were delighted to find a cosy place to dine called Juliette which had some fantastic wine and tasty tapas. Our second night, after enjoying dinner at Brasserie Witlof we saw the Book of Mormon musical in Manhattan, and ended our Saturday night by checking out Radegast Hall & Biergarten. Sunday morning we investigated Mimosa for brunch, and had some delicious bites to go with our cappuccinos. All in all, a wonderful visit. Thank you Russell!

  Comments: We were blown away by Russell's apartment. Check in was easy and were were happy that there was a lift in the building. The place is also child friendly and we were lucky enough to have been sharing the outdoor area with a lovely family so our daughters could play together. We were absolutely in love with the neighbourhood as well and would never stay in Manhattan again. Russell's apartment is a short stroll (no more than 10 mins) to the Bedford Ave subway and it's only a few stops to Manhattan. We also walked down to the ferry and caught that into Manhattan. Just loved the area and were so sad to leave. There is also a great supermarket down the road and it seemed like a perfectly safe area. We also loved the Mexican restaurant downstairs from Russell's apartment. Parking was also fine and there is a kids playground nearby. Will be back for sure.

  Comments: Wow — what a beautiful home smack dab in the middle of Williamsburg. Russell was very accommodating and flexible as we made somewhat of an eleventh hour reservation. The apartment was in impeccable shape and all appliances, plumbing, A/C were working perfectly. The check-in process was seamless as Russell is very thorough with his directions. The space receives beautiful, natural light throughout the day and the apartment has a one-of-a-kind terrace with a clear view of Midtown. Great restaurants, shops amazing breakfast at Egg two blocks down and so much great Street art to explore all around Berry Street (if that's your thing) Also if you want to explore of Brooklyn your just 5 minutes from L line and two metro stops from union square 14th St which we found a great starting point for exploring more of New York. Chelsea and Highline area are easily accessible also using the metro. Beautiful apartment, great communication, zero hassle check in/out and so clean, comfortable and stylish with great views. To sum it up we will be back.

  Comments: I've visited NYC on many occasions, and in my experience, Russell's penthouse is one of the best Airbnb places to stay in the city. It's very much as he has described and shown in his photos—though I was pleasantly surprised to find it larger that it appears. It's very well furnished, has an unusually large terrace, and the view of Manhattan is a bonus. The surrounding neighborhood is vibrant and thriving. Russell was easy to reach to answer my questions. No problems. No hassles. It was all good. Two thumbs up!

  Comments: Great location, relaxing spacious apartment, stylish and modern. Well-equipped. Check-in/out was easy and we had no problems whatsoever. Balcony area is shared with another apartment so just be aware of that if you fancy prancing around in the nude! Close to the main drag of Williamsburg and there is great bar called Skinny Dennis just a couple of minutes' walk away. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect for someone traveling alone or as a couple to explore all Williamsburg has to offer. Easy check in/check out. No problem parking. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Hervorragend ist die schnelle und nette Kommunikation mit Russel. Williamsburg ist aus unserer Sicht die ideale Location für NY, man hat jede Menge Möglichkeiten abends gut essen zu gehen und ein tolles Nachtleben. Dennoch ist man schnell in Manhattan per Fahrrad oder L Train.

  Comments: L'appartement de Russel est moderne, dispose de tous l'équipement moderne et il est très bien décoré. La terrasse immense est exceptionnelle par la vue qu'elle offre sur Manhattan : Chrysler building, Empire State Building... c'est tout simplement magnifique L'appartement se situe dans une rue au calme mais à 5 minutes à pied se trouve des restaurants, boutiques et un magasin whole food. Tout peut se faire à pied. Une petite gym se situe dans l'immeuble et un centre de fitness à 3 blocks qui offre gratuitement un pass d'essai de 3 jours Russell est un hote très à l'écoute et disponible qui répondra à toutes vos sollicitations. Je recommande vivement cet appartement.

The apartment has high ceilings and huge windows with a fantastic view. The deck is amazing. It was great to eat dinner and hang out while the sun set. Russell is a fantastic host. Russell went out of his way to be accommodating with great recommendations for things to do and places to eat and when our plans changed last minute he was very quick to respond and allow us to arrive a day early for our stay. I highly recommend Russell's apartment to experience NYC like a local.

  Comments: Williamsburg is a fabulous alternative to staying in Manhattan - far quieter, packed with cool shops, friendly people and great restaurants. Russell’s apartment is well located, about 10 mins walk from the very convenient L train, and only a bit further to Marcy Ave for connections to Wall St. Excellent restaurants are nearby. So a great location! The apartment was as described in the listing, comfortable even on bitter winter days. The sofa bed was great for our son. There are good facilities and although there are a few scuffs and bits of wear from bring a popular property, everything worked fine. We very much enjoyed this different way to see NY.

It is located in a very nice neighborhood in Williamsburg Brooklyn; close to a lot of nice restaurants and interesting places to visit. Whole Foods market was a short 5 minute walk away from the apartment. I recommend checking out Joe's Pizza for a delicious slice of New York pizza. Fabulous apartment, with a nice rooftop deck to eat your pizza while looking at the beautiful New York skyline.

  Comments: I've lived in Brooklyn, and also stayed in dozens of Airbnbs around the world. This one was disappointing for the price and did not live up to the stated promise of being "on par with anything you'll find at any 5 star hotel". I have never stayed in a 5 star hotel that was as noisy as this one. Yes, NYC can be noisy, but this listing should caution that the apartment (and your bedroom_ look over a 4-way intersection, and that cars, motorbikes and loud trucks will wake you til late in the night and again early in the morning. The listing also promises: "Right off the living room is a huge private balcony". However, two people from another unit strolled out onto this supposedly "private" balcony and peered directly into the apartment while I was standing in the living room in my shorts. Even if you lower the window shades, the shades do not give privacy in the living room or block out light in the bedroom. Also, I have never stayed in a 5 star hotel where the living space had not been swept or vacuumed properly. The cushion on the living room chair was badly stained, so they just flipped it over (even though it looks bad to be wrong-side up). There was no guidebook, so you have to text the owner and wait for a response to basic queries like "Where is the gym?" (there are no signs in the building), or how do you work the TV remotes (there are no instructions). On the positive side, the gym in the basement has all the basic equipment (bike, treadmill, elliptical, dumbbells, multi-function weight machine).

Because of the weather, we only had a few moments with the wonderful view, but those moment were perfect because of the amazing sunset.   Comments: The apartment was impeccably clean, stylish and very comfortable. I would probably say though that the sofa bed isn't really big enough for two adults but for one it worked great! We especially loved the balcony area and enjoyed eating out there and watching the sun set over Manhattan, the neighbours were very friendly so it wasn't an issue at all that it was shared. Edward was very accommodating and allowed me to check in early after a long overnight flight which I really appreciated. We would definitely stay again.

Our only issues were with the washing machine that leaked and still had garments in it, the TV didn't work, the instructions to get the key initially were confusing (2nd lockbox instead of third) and the drawer of the dresser fell off on my foot and was unusable.

  Comments: Awesome place—so spacious and comfortable. A wonderful basecamp for Manhattan and Brooklyn (at least for as long as the L Train is still running)! I drove and it was super easy to move the car and keep it on the streets for free. The views are exceptional and the place is super quiet—was there for 4 days and didn’t see a single other person the whole time coming or going. A nice reprieve from the bustle of the city. The neighborhood is great; had my dogs and loved walking to Domino and McCarren Parks. Tons of shopping and restaurants to choose from too. Definitely recommend!

Right off the bat, during our very first night, it became clear how perfectly located Ed’s apartment is for enjoying Williamsburg. This exact block cannot be beat! Close to everything, while still quiet for a good night’s sleep. Moreover, his apartment is atop the whole complex and has the best (perhaps only) views of the Manhattan skyline, including the spacious shared patio. Epic. Everything else was totally solid.   Comments: This is a really beautiful apartment and in a perfect location In Williamsburg. It's an outstanding bargain,, there's a beautiful shared patio that looks back across the East River. You can see the Empire State building in the distance. Edward is very responsive and on the one occasion when I did need to communicate with him I heard back from him in just a few minutes. The check in process was flawless and the place was sparkling clean and looked very fresh and well kept. I would highly recommend this property and it is a fantastic bargain. We stayed in a similar sized two room suite at the William Vail last time we were in Brooklyn and payed $1000 a night. Sorry William Vale but thanks Edward.
