  Comments: Carlyn was amazing! I had a great time staying with her and her roommates, who were all very courteous, respectful and welcoming. She was prompt and efficient in communicating with me about my arrival and departure, and the apartment itself exceeded all my expectations. It's very spacious and conveniently located just one block from a subway entrance and right across the street from Riverside park. From the subway, the 1 train goes straight to Times Square and downtown, while the park is adjacent to the Hudson River providing some spectacular sunset views. All in all, I had an excellent experience here and highly recommend staying with Carlyn.

Such a great energy in the apartment, everyone is friendly and easy going, huge space, The room is big with a very comfortable queen size bed, with air conditioner, fully equipped kitchen with full access to it, private bathroom, everything is really clean and neat. The location is very convinient and perfect to see the sunset next to Hudson River at riverside park. The subway station right at the corner, 20 min from Midtown, time square. The area is full of restaurants, groceries shops, pharmacy, etc. I highly recommend this apt! You won't get any better at such great price!

  Comments: It was our first time using Airbnb and we had a great experience. The house was exactly as the description and Carlyn was a fantastic host. The house was clean and quiet, located close to the Subway, supermarkets and shops. We arrived late at night because our flight was delayed and she was waiting with dinner ready for us, which was very appreciated. About New York, it is an amazing place to spend your holidays.   Comments: From the moment I booked this place I knew it was a gem from the interactions I had with Carlyn. She is the most organized and detail oriented host that I have encountered to date. The Apt. is phenomenal. SUPER clean, spacious, trendy, modern and ultra comfy. Our room was huge, with beautiful big windows, clean and comfy sheets and pillows. Our bathroom was great and we loved having access to the kitchen for before dinner drinks and snacks. The locations is fantastic. We drove from Canada and there was plenty of street parking plus the subway is literally a minute away - BONUS! The housemates were really social and made us feel at home, giving us tips and helping us with any questions we had during our stay. All and all this place is a true gem! We will probably come more often just because this apt. is just that fantastic!

The location was great and we were able to travel to downtown in 25 mins. The apt. was clean and the kitchen was always available for cooking or preparing food. Après un tour du propriétaire et leur départ, nous avons pleinement profité de cet appartement plutôt spacieux. Situé dans un quartier vivant, il est a proximité immédiate de la ligne 1 qui nous a permis de nous rendre au cœur de Manhattan en une vingtaine de minute. Seul petit bémol, nous avions deux personnes présentes dans l'appartement... discrètes mais présentes quand même. Merci à Carlyn et Fred pour leur côté chaleureux. Nous recommandons donc leur appartement.

  Comments: My boyfriend and I only stayed at Carlyn's place for two nights, but it was wonderful. The description was accurate. It was actually better than anticipated. She left a little basket of fruit, a NYC touring guide, soap and shampoo, etc. in the room for us. Her home is very clean and cozy. She and her roommates were super friendly and welcoming. They were always willing to offer helpful information on the city. The neighborhood is safe and is right on the water with the metro at the end of the block. Parking was free, easy to find, and right outside her apartment. We were later arriving in NYC than expected, but Carlyn was perfect accommodating to our needs. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone looking for a place to stay in NYC.

  Comments: Carolyn's apartment appealed to us because of its proximity to our daughter's family's apartment Abe Carlyn's great reviews. Our experience was great, as well. Getting there was so easy with the apartment just one block from the 1 Subway line 137th Street station. Her apartment mate, Fred, welcomed us with a fruit basket, keys, and showed us around. We came and went as we wished generally to visit family, but also to enjoy a dinner out and a concert at Carnegie Hall. Our hosts were very accommodating giving us access to their kitchen for breakfast. We bought our own food for breakfast at the nearby and outstanding Fairway market. On our last day with lots of rain she offered to let us borrow her umbrella. A great stay; we expect to return.

No worries about neighborhood, very safe.

  Comments: If you are looking for something cozy, practical and convenient (with subway and bus stop just a few steps away!), and also somebody with good manners, responsible, and helpful...VOILÀ! You have found the right place and the right person =) everything went excellently well during our stay. We were a bit worried before our flight since we were so busy at that time that we forgot to confirm with Carlyn our arrival, but hopefully Carlyn and her roomates (Hilary, Hannah, and CJ) have been so kind and helpful that we arrived without any inconvenience! Carlyn even managed to host my additional friend with only 2 days prior-notice! She is also very responsive and dedicated to ensure your comfort even at her busiest times (since she usually works late, such a hard worker!), so I'll give her two thumbs up for being able to manage everything so well and also all the good attention that she gave us. Note: pls be aware of the tempting dessert/food that you may find in the kitchen! since Carlyn loves to bake and cook, you may probably find (sometimes) a light scent of vainilla cinnamon brown sugar in the house, which we found it completly lovely! Thank you Carlyn for being part of our first fantastic experience in NY! =)

  Comments: My sister and I stayed with Carly and her roommates for 2 nights in September to attend a cousins wedding. We were looking for a nice place to stay - close to the wedding venue and also easily accessible by car. We were so please with everything. The room is quite big and ultra comfortable. The apartment is spacious and clean. The hosts were very nice and helpful. I only have great things to say and could go on for a while.   Comments: Carlyn is a very responsive and a wonderful host. I loved the homey atmosphere. Even though I did not get a chance to meet Carlyn in person but she made my stay very comfortable. Her friend Hilary was very helpful in making suggestions on where I can go for dinner. The house is clean and spacious located in a great area. A lovely kitchen with coffee, fruits, snacks available. There are two bathrooms, both are good size. Bedroom is spacious with queen size comfy bed. There are two windows one side is facing the riverside view. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely recommend!!!

We did get a chance to meet her roommates though and they did a great job of making us feel at home. Carlyn seems like a very busy person and as a consequence isn't around much, but despite this, communicated with us very well and we had no problems at all finding the place or getting settled. The apartment was exactly as it was listed, spacious, clean and has a nice view of the Hudson.

  Comments: Before our arrival, Carlyn often kept contact and provided us with all the necessary information to get into their place. We had a great first impression: the apartament was so big, clean and organized and looked exactly as shown in the pictures. Carlyn was not there to receive us, but her (Hidden by Airbnb) welcomed us warmly and explained to us what we needed to know to feel just like home. I must give special thanks to Hannah, who was so dear and gentle, always carrying a smile on her face and prompt to help us at any request. The house has all it takes to make you feel comfortable. The fact that it has two bathrooms made things a lot easier and the kitchen is well equipped, even though we did not use it often. By the way, the bathrooms are so good! The shower was awesome! There is a metro station just at the end of the street, that takes you easily to downton. The location is still good, but don't expect to be in the heart of Manhattan. It takes around 20 minutes in subway to midtown and 30 to 40 to downtown. Our room was big, with enough room for the suitcases and we had a comfy bed. The lack of curtains with a blackout bothered me a bit, since i like to sleep in a complete dark. If you are a night person, or if you have light sleep you may have a bit of a problem, thus you can experience some noise from the outside. The fact that you have to cross the living room to walk to the bathroom is also something that bothered me a bit, because sometimes you don't want to be seen in pijamas or in a towel, or as a sleepwalk in the morning, lol. What i surely can say is that we felt like home and our hosts were awesome! Despite those small details that i mentioned, they were easily overcome by the gentleness of Carlyn and the other hosts. I would definitely stay there again. I left very early, without the chance to say goodbye and to thank you for our pleasant stay in NYC. Please don't think that i was indifferent to all your care toward us and i truly hope that you all get my message and sincere gratitude.

  Comments: Carolyn was not home during our stay but she made sure that we had all the information needed well in advance. Carly's roommates also helped us through queries and made us feel at home. We enjoyed our stay at Carlyn's place. Best things about the place: Location: Walkable distance to subway with easy access to grocery shops, delis and a beautiful riverside park. You can have a glimpse of the Hudson river from the bedroom, a luxury in New York city. Room: Room is spacious and tastefully decorated. Carlyn had towels and toiletries and even medicine for fever that saved me during our stay. Everything about the room was thoughtful and smartly done. Carolyn has an amazing collection of books and I enjoyed reading one of her books. It will be a unique memory of my stay there. House: The living room is spacious and great to relax at the end of a tiring day in NY. Watch out for: You need to walk past the living room to go to the shared bathrooms (yes there are two). Although it was slightly uncomfortable for us to begin with, we got used to it. There is not enough space to keep your stuff in the bedroom. So you would be mostly operating out of the suitcase.

  Comments: Carlyn was there to meet us when we arrived and offered us an orientation to the apartment and to the neighborhood. We were impressed by her warmth and friendliness. Since she left soon after for the weekend, we essentially had the apartment to ourselves. The bedroom was comfortable with an air conditioner and fan, the open kitchen/living room area was well-appointed and had a distant view of the water. The location was great; the subway and buses were a block or two away, there were many good restaurants within walking distance, and it was a vibrant but safe area. Parking was a breeze. We arrived on Friday afternoon, parked across the street, and didn't move it again until we left on Monday. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

  Comments: Carlyn and her room mates are great hosts. They made everything to make us feel at home. They gave us directions, tips on where to go and they even offered to share their food with us. The aprtment is located in a very nice building by the river and is really close to the subway about 1 minute walking distance. It had two bathrooms and they were very clean all the time just like the rest of the apartment. Our bedroom was big enough to place our luggages. The bed was very comfotable. There was a bookshelf with NYC guides which were really useful as we weren't that prepared for our trip. The neighbourhood gets a little noisy in the mornings but it wasn't a problem for as we woke up early in the morning and hit the road. Carlyn was in touch with us all the time asking if we were ok. She even helped us to get our delivery on Amazon. She was a kind, friendly and caring host. I recommend anyone to stay at her place.

  Comments: Thank you for the nice stay in NY. The apartment is great and clean. So is the washroom and the room as well. It's exactly like shown in the pictures. It's a 2min walk to the metro which is great for visiting Manhattan. Parking was bit tricky for us and took a while because of the street cleaning. I guess that's Manhattan. Carlyn and her roommates were very friendly and really wanted us to have a nice stay. Carlyn provided us with perfect instruction before we arrived (getting in, parking...) and definitely deserves the Superhost state.

Desde el primer día que llegamos, fuimos muy bien recibidos e hicieron todo lo posible para que nos sintiéramos como en casa. En ningún momento sentimos que sobrábamos o que no era nuestro lugar, muy por el contrario, siempre nos sentimos muy cómodos. El departamento es aún mejor de lo que se aprecia en las fotos: es muy espacioso, con dos baños y todo estaba realmente limpio y ordenado. El barrio era muy tranquilo y seguro para llegar tarde en la noche. Se encuentra solo a una cuadra de la estación de metro, a corta distancia de los lugares más emblemáticos de Nueva York, y al lado de un parque muy bello. Close to pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops, the location is removed from the crowds of midtown.   Comments: Mooie ruim appartement met 2 badkamers wij hadden eigenlijk onze prive badkamer. Alle voorzieningen WIFI ea waren er, ruime living waar je even kan zitten. Carlyn volgt alles super snel op en denkt mee na. De kamer waar wij sliepen was niet zo groot maar voldoende omdat je toch meer in de stad bent. Kleine details maken het fijn zoals leuke boeken en kleine verzorgingsproducten. Heel goed bed met goeie matras. Directe metro verbinding naar het centrum wel rekenen op een half uur transport tot Times Square. Veilige buurt met toch wat omgevingslawaai zeker zaterdagavond is het salsa feestje gezellig.

  Comments: Staying with Carlyn and Dave was so far above and beyond what would be expected. They are without a doubt the nicest people you will find on AirBnB. If you're open to it, Carlyn and Dave will treat you like family. And they take making you experience as positive as possible very seriously. And when it comes to the room itself, it is spotless. Everything is very clean, all throughout the bedroom and the apartment. There is an extra bed set and towels, an open closet with hangers, a bookshelf with all sorts of interesting reads and reference materials for your stay in NYC, and most importantly for my stay during the height of summer, a fully functional and powerful air conditioner. The bathroom was always clean, and best of all it is right next to the bedroom! Super convenient. The living room and kitchen area is super roomy, and if you're so inclined you can even use the kitchen as you see fit. Just remember to clean up after yourself folks! A nice tv with a great selection of streaming services through Amazon, including Netflix!! So many nights spent watching that. As for the location, there is just so much to do in the area. There are several parks right within walking distance, including Riverside Park across the street. There are also plenty of restaurants and bars along Broadway, or a short 15 minute walk to Central Harlem. Both City College and Columbia University are decent walk away. But best of all, the 1 subway train is right on the same block as the apartment, which really unlocks easy access to much of Downtown. All in all, my stay was a great experience, and I would highly recommend anybody looking to visit NYC to do the same and stay with Carlyn and Dave.

  Comments: House and room was exactly as the photos. Bed was comfortable for two and the A/C was working. Check-in was easy and we were able to let ourselves in and out throughout our stay. So incredibly close to the 1 subway train! Carlyn was not home when we stayed--only her roommates. Bathroom was very pretty but the shower handle is sensitive and switches between very hot or cold water. If you are a light sleeper, warning: there is constant loud music playing from cars or neighbors on this street. Another negative was that there was no 'parking on premises'. Difficult to find a spot to park near the home and please beware not to park near fire hydrants! We received a parking ticket for being 8 feet away from a fire hydrant in front of the home (supposed to be 10ft away). We are from Oregon and usually those things are painted or a sign is posted. Be sure to bring your measuring tape in case you want to be safe. We highly recommend Carlyn change the amenity status from 'parking on premises' to just 'street parking.'

El barrio está bastante bien ya que alrededor uno tiene toda clase de servicios a unos pocos pasos, ya sean lugares para comer, comprar refrescos, farmacias, entre otros. El acceso al transporte público también es destacable ya que justo en la esquina se encuentra una estación de metro que directamente te llevará a Times Square, te aproximará a Central Park o a cualquier atracción turística en un mismo trayecto sin necesidad de hacer combinaciones demasiado complicadas. Carlyn siempre tuvo una buena disposición para ayudarnos en caso de cualquier problema que tuviéramos. Te ofrecerá soluciones y ayuda para que tengas una buena experiencia de viaje.
