Neighborhood Overview: Şişli is one of the most important districts of Istanbul. There are everything you need in this district, hence, the transportation is very easy here. Furthermore, my street is a noiseless, very safe and peaceful one. If you like that, you can walk to Beşiktaş or Taksim by walking 30 minutes. So, it is a seriously good location
Notes:
Transit: It's 3 minutes to Cevahir mall that includes Şişli-Mecidiyeköy metro station, 10 minutes to Mecidiyeköy metrobus station by walking, 5 minutes to bus stations which go almost everywhere in Istanbul, and a closer (like 5 minutes) bus station for a bus which goes Beşiktaş-Eminönü. There is a close otopark 2 minutes to apartment, but it is not free.

Comments: I was not happy staying at this place. Deniz was helpful and quick to accept my request, but later little responsive when the internet wasn't working (I had to work on something important, and it took me hours to finish it until very late at night), and no responsive at all after I asked him about the heating at his place, which was not working at all. I waited for a couple of days for his response/for him to fix the problem, and he never solved it. I wouldn't stay here again.

Comments: It's a good value for money private room. The standard of the flat is 'for students'. All amenities were functional. There is no elevator and the flat is on 4th floor, so care if you have a big language. I just needed a place to sleep for 2 nights in that particular location - for that usecase I can recommend this flat.

Comments: TL;DR: That was my worst Airbnb experience to date. Terrible coordination, intentional misinformation, and lack of sleep is what you gonna get staying here. The place is a typical student den. Disgusting bathroom, stains, hair everywhere, the rug on the floor is permanently soaking wet and smelly, the toilet is often left filthy even though there's a brush right next to it. Selim barely speaks English, so we could only communicate through a translator app. That's all fine though, pretty much expected when traveling on a tight budget, that's not the worst part. The worst part is all the random people snooping around, moving in and out without notice, and being loud during the nighttime. Before booking I specifically asked who else lives in the flat, and Selim said there's only him and his girlfriend. The reality is, neither is ever present (I believe we've seen each other 4-5 times during my month long stay), and the rest of the flat appears to be rented out separately (it is, see PS), meaning that you're left dealing with a bunch of strangers on your own. Admittedly, most of the visitors were nice and considerate, but the last week I've had the pleasure sharing the flat with four guys, cramped together in the other room, drinking, leaving food rotting in the kitchen for days, using my soap and towels, arguing at 3am, slamming doors, and being completely unresponsive to numerous requests to keep it quiet at night. Selim didn't do anything meaningful to handle the situation. Either he's too shy to keep his guests' act in check, or simply didn't care, since he's almost never around anyway. So I had to resort to talking sense into them myself, which is a pretty awkward thing to do being a guest on someone else's premises, if you think about it. Eventually we ended up installing door locks, so at least now it's possible to go outside and not worry about your stuff being stolen or messed with. PS: There's another listing circulating in the Similar Places section, 'Comfortable and Nice Room in a Good Location', posted by Erinç, Selim's friend, per his own words. Be careful because it's the same flat, just a different room. In fact I stayed in that one, judging by the photos. Didn't mind it though, it's a better room.
