Comments: Thanks Zach for a great stay in your amazing apartment, walking distance everywhere and amazing subway connections and supermarket/coffee/bagel options at our doorstep. Loved it!

  • Reviewer: Dima

Comments: Stayed at Zack's place for my duration and it was perfect for our group of four people. It was very convenient being 15 min from WTC where we had to work. For NYC this is a big appartment with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and 1 bedroom downstairs. Overall I'd stay here again.

  • Reviewer: Rob

Comments: We had a great stay. Loved being so close to the subway (50 meters) and so easy to get everywhere. Beds were very comfortable with nice sheets and bathroom was nice with nice white towels. We got the train from JFK which was pretty easy and the stop on 23rd street is super close to the apartment. Couple of things to note- The bedrooms are small, but good for NYC I guess (queen beds). Also, the front rooms have some noise at night but not bad. Overall a great stay in a good location in NYC!

  • Reviewer: Raymond

Comments: Great for groups or families. Not easy to find a 4 bedroom place in NYC at a great rate and great location.

  • Reviewer: Maureen

Comments: This apartment has lots of sleeping options for a big group. It is very convenient to subways and shopping. Everything was clean and in good working order. Very comfortable and a good value.

Comments: Zach's home was great! A great location. A great space. Great rooms. ....And great communication! Thanks for a great stay. We will be back. Lauren!

Comments: We had a great 2 day stay with Zach. The location is great, close by everything. We would definitely stay there again.

  • Reviewer: Tim

Comments: Great value for money, excellent location and wonderful space. Great host to communicate with and helpful guide for things to do and see and places to eat. Highly recommend it.

  • Reviewer: Samuel

Comments: Awesome place to stay. Location is awesome very close almost everything you need and right next to a 24 hour rite-aid. Place was clean and warm. Zach was super easy to communicate with and very kind. Couple of the rooms were bit loud in the morning due to the recycling bins being next to it but still we had a wonderful time staying there. Thank you Zach!

  • Reviewer: Billy

Comments: Place was spacious and nice. Still needs some touch-ups, like fix flickering bedroom light, hanging ceiling panels, small dorm-room type refrigerator.

  • Reviewer: David

Comments: The apartment was clean and very well located (proximity of CVS, Whole Foods, and subway). Everything was comfortable and well equipped. However, the rooms that are next to the street are a bit noisy, as other guests have commented already, and less luminous than in the pictures. The communication with Zach and his partner could improve.

  • Reviewer: Adam

    Comments: Great location and hospitality

  • Reviewer: Chinami

Comments: Zach was so kind and friendly, he always responsed quickly. The room was clean and cozy. The biggest bedroom at downstairs was a little bit cold, and it was hard unloading own suitcase because the stairs was so narrow. He gave us the guide suggesting places to visit in NY, so we could spent really good time.

  • Reviewer: Birte

Comments: the location of the flat is really great. zach was super easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed. We were a group of 7 people and the flat had a great size for it. I can only recommend it.

Comments: Comfortable and clean apt in a fantastic location. Ideal for family or small group. Zach was great to communicate with and check in was exactly as arranged. Zach also sent us some useful information for our stay in NY.

Comments: Zach’s place was wonderful and offered a great place that was very convenient to many different areas of the city. The house was clean and tidy and perfect four out group.

  • Reviewer: Simon

Comments: Great host, very helpful and the apartment is in a convenient area. Very comfortable beds which is the key for our family. However the pictures can be deceiving as this is a very dark basement flat and unfortunately there was a pretty bad smell that permeated the place the week we were there. We may have been unlucky. Overall reasonable value, but this is the first Airbnb location our family has been disappointed by, and is our 10th.

Comments: So we lucked out on booking this spot last minute a week before our trip. The apartment is VERY spacious! 4 full bedrooms which was awesome. Kitchen and living area is smaller than in photos but not a deal breaker as you should be spending your time out in the city and not your apartment. Location was perfect. Whole Foods is right around the corner for grocery shopping needs in addition to a Walgreens and CVS. You MUST try the bagels at Brooklyn Coffee & Bagels right around the corner! We walked everywhere from the apartment. The high line was a short 10 minute walk and we walked from Time Square as well. Thanks for hosting us!

Comments: Great spot in NY - Nice area with easy access to midtown Manhattan. Perfect if you want to do all the tourist stuff without having to stay in the thick of it. A short walk south is the more local side to NY - beautiful streets and great vibe. LOADS of places to eat and drink. I would definitely recommend.

  • Reviewer: Rachel

Comments: The location of Zach's space is ideal - so convenient to anything you need. Check-in was a bit more difficult than necessary due to communication issues from the host's proxy, the dishwasher was broken, the couch needs cleaned, and the spiral staircase is very rickety and needs tightening. However, the space we needed and the convenient location outweighed the issues and we had a decent stay.

  • Reviewer: Adrianne

Comments: This apartment is really great! The location is perfect and so close to public transportation! Zach is very responsive and quickly answered all of our questions! The apartment has plenty of space and everything you might need for a stay in the city. I would definitely recommend this spot!

  • Reviewer: Kim

Comments: The location is the best! The master bedroom is downstairs with a narrow stairs. 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on ground level. Perfect when you’re planning to go out all the time to enjoy the city and just go home to sleep.

  • Reviewer: Jitin

Comments: Great things about this place: 1. location .. location .. location...smack in the middle of everything in the city and convenient to Whole Foods, CVS et al. 2. Clean place as promised, 3. Communications with the host and proxy is smooth Things to consider before booking : 1. Single bathroom.. suggest not to consider for more than 4-5 max through sleeps 8-10.. 2. No daylight or views as this is 1st floor and basement as setup.. 3. Not kids friendly ( under 7) as restricted staircase...sofa needs cleaning .. Minor thing as needed to shop for toiletries but was refunded promptly ..

Comments: Unfortunately and contrary to all the other reviews we were very disappointed by this accommodation, despite its good location in Manhattan, all the windows overlook garbage cans, the steps of the building are the rallying point of the street beggars, he is dark, the area is not at all, for my part there is barely more than half of the advertised area, the living space is tiny or nonexistent, the staircase is very dangerous, despite the good will de Zach tell us all the good of her apartment, I am director of two hotels and I know what I am talking about. For families to avoid.

Comments: This stylish apartment was perfect- sparkling clean and in a great location for attractions, shopping, groceries, cafes and to the Metro. Host was courteous, helpful and responsive to any questions or needs. We will def come back to this apartment!

  • Reviewer: Jessica

Comments: We are so glad we found this gem, the location is perfect and there is a CVS and food located just steps away. We were a large group of nine and it may have been that everyone woke up at different times, though we did not have any issues with the one bathroom. The place was clean and had everything we needed. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely come back!

Comments: Thank you so much for the stay. The location is perfect and close to the nearby subway. The apartment was cozy and the beds were very comfortable. There were nearby amenities and plenty of food option. I really enjoyed Brooklyn Bagels nearby.

Comments: Overall I would say it way an okay to good experience. At the airport we asked a taxi driver to take us to the address but they were unable to find it, eventually settled on the Bagel Cafe. Greeted by John here rather than at the apartment, he claimed it was a fire hazard to congregate outside the entrance, but after being shown around the apartment by John he asked us not to mention Airbnb but instead to say we were visiting friends. Airbnb has been vilified in NYC as taking trade from hotels. Apartment was not dirty, more grubby, but acceptable. Most things were clean, but things like the light switches and doors were all covered in fingerprints. It's an old building so had some quirks, e.g. the spiral stairs to the lower floor were quite wobbly and there was a water pipe from floor to ceiling in the kitchenette area. This got very very very hot from time to time, too hot to touch or you would burn yourself. This surprisingly wasn't mentioned by John. There was no way to control the temperature in the apartment and when the pipe heated and cooled the wooden floor would click noisily through the night as it expanded and contracted. This was worse for the member of our group staying in the common area. One of the front bedrooms was very cold, the AC unit in the window was poorly fitted and so let in lots of cold air. Bring you own toilet paper! What was supplied was single ply and was better at spreading rather than cleaning!! The actual location in Manhattan was ideal with easy access to most areas either on foot or the nearby subway. This made up for the apartments shortcomings as we were out most of the time. It was also a good price compared to hotels and allowed the seven of us to have a shared area which would have been difficult in a hotel. One bathroom was a challenge for us but this we knew about this in advance. Finally, I wouldn't re-book or recommend this to a friend.

Comments: Here you can expect a nice apartment close to both the subway, shops and nice cafés within a couple of minutes walking distance. The best transport to central Manhattan is the metro in 5-10 minutes or walking for 45 minutes.

Comments: This charming duplex was in an excellent location in Chelsea. We were given great instructions on check in and the house was very clean and tidy. Lots of extra room which is very hard to come by in New York. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to enjoy a lovely stay in Chelsea and we will be back!

Comments: Fantastic location, noisy front rooms, one spacious bedroom in the basement. Good for 2-3 nights but a bit weird floor plan. Bring earplugs for the night. Overall great value.

Comments: great location. gym next door, coffee place and bagel shop on otherside. wholefood market down block. everything was sooooo convenient

  • Reviewer: Leslie

Comments: Zach’s apartment was in a great location and met the needs of our group. The space was clean and updated. It was easy to access the subway system, find parking, and walk to many places. The bagel place was great and it was convenient to have CVS and Whole Foods right there. The value of the apartment was also very appealing for a large group. Things to note: 1. You cannot adjust the heat in the apartment and there is a pole in the middle of the kitchen that gets very hot. 2. The staircase is extremely narrow and hard to use, especially with luggage. 3. There is a lot of street noise in the front two bedrooms. People chat outside beginning at around 5am. 4. The bathroom in the apartment is not the one pictured in the listing. It is much smaller and not what I would call “spacious”. 5. The pigeons hang out right outside all the windows and make noises day and night. (Don’t leave the windows open or they might come in!) Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

Comments: Great location in the heart of Chelsea, super close to central subway stations. The streets were noisy at night and you could hear this from inside the apartment. There is little natural light that gets into the place, as the place is on the bottom floor.

Comments: Overall, my family and I had a very nice stay in Zach’s place and would recommend it to other travelers. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Perfect location next to the metro, CVS, restaurants, bars, and a quick shot to many different parts of town. - Very clean! The kitchen and bathroom are recently redone. The sheets were clean and comfortable. - Great amenities! Coffee pot, tea kettle, and even a dishwasher were very nice to have breakfast in the apartment. He even has a stash of Tide if you want to wash a few things in the sink. - Lots of seating - the main room has enough chairs (albeit plastic ones) that all 6 of us could hang out in there comfortably. - The beds were all pretty comfortable. I could have done with fluffier pillows but I just stole pillows from the downstairs bed and that helped. Cons: - The stairs. If you really need that fourth bedroom downstairs, good luck. Fortunately we had 3 couples so everyone stayed upstairs. I would have been very concerned if someone had to go up this crazy narrow staircase in the middle of the night to use the restroom. Sadly, it’s the largest room with the biggest bed. Unfortunately it’s more of a loft space so there’s no door so don’t expect any privacy or quiet down there. - 1 restroom. Not ideal for the amount of people this place sleeps, but that can’t be helped. - The street noise and light. The con of having a first floor apartment next to a 24 hour CVS - people were outside the window at all hours of the night on the phone, fighting, etc. one of the windows was even above the building’s dumpster so you could hear people going through the trash at night. Also the light shines right from the street into the front rooms. Bring ear plugs and an eye shade. - It was a bit strange that Zack wanted us to meet him at the bagel shop down the street and not in front of the apartment, but didn’t tell us until an hour before we arrived. Well, I missed the email anyway as we were trying to navigate transportation.
