  Comments: This apartment makes a great base for exploring Porto. It's exactly as described and represented well in the pictures. The check-in was hassle free and very helpful. Located just a short walk from Bolhão Market (my 5 year old managed to walk there and back) and within easy reach of restaurants, transport links, metro and supermarkets. The only downside is the traffic noise. It can be a little loud at times during the day. It's not a continuous stream of traffic, just short bursts due to the traffic lights further down the road. By the end of my stay it no longer bothered us.

  Comments: We enjoyed Mario's apartment very much. It is very nicely renovated and spotlessly clean. Lots of natural light in the morning which makes you enjoy the start of the day. Also the building looks very authentic - Portuguese tiles on the front and azulejos inside the main lobby. Perfect distance to the tourists spots - close enough for an enjoyable walk, but not too close to be crowed or noisy. We had a great stay! Definitely recommend it!

Pros: + Great Pre-Stay Communication + Arranged a courteous transfer from the airport for 20EUR + Very Spacious Living Area with Lots of Natural Light + New and Modern Looking Place + Walking Distance to Central Porto + Modern and Secure Building + Very Clean Cons: - Cheaply constructed (for short term rental purposes it seems) and not very well furnished - for example we could hear lots of noise from neighbours above, below and to the side at 2am when they started playing music, there is no windows or extractor fan in the bathroom. - Bedroom is very small with no windows or natural light. They should have opened the ceiling up when building as it is a box within a box. - No basic extras like milk, tea, sugar, salt. However a courtesy bottle of wine was provided. Overall it was a good stay but I have to deduct one star for the above which I think is reasonable. It was still a good stay and I would recommend but please bear in mind the above.

  Comments: The apartment was very clean and cozy. We had no problem with check-in whatsoever. A big plus - newly renovated building so we really enjoyed staying in Porto. Fully equipped and beautiful apartment with high ceiling. The place is located in downtown, 8 min walk to the main square, 5 min to a big supermarket and only 10 min to the beautiful bridge (a must-see). You will find a lot of cafes around. Right on the corner a small cafe where you can have a breakfast. Thanks a lot for the welcome gift, it was sooo sweet. We definitely recommend the apartment.

  Comments: Apartamento bonito, limpio y MUY BIEN UBICADO: en 4-5 minutos te plantas en cualquier lado. La calefacción es una de esas eléctricas con ruedas y, aunque le cuesta calentar todo el piso, lo consigue. Deja la temperatura bastante equilibrada. Tiene bastante ruido por parte de los vecinos (se oyen los pasos) y también de los coches, aunque si te cierras la habitación, se insonoriza bastante. Justo enfrente del apartamento y como a 30-40 metros hacia abajo, hay una pastelería-cafetería que hace esquina que es IDEAL para desayunar: tienen de todo y muy bueno. Hablan español perfectamente y son muy amables. Los pasteles de Belén (que en Oporto se llaman Natas) están muy bueno. Lo mejor es la ubicación, sin duda. Mario responde bastante rápido y salvo el problema que tuvimos con el retraso, fue muy cordial. Dejo, no obstante, lo sucedido con el retraso: Avise con exactitud de a qué hora llegaría al apartamento (21:15) y llegué a las 21:18. Hasta las 10:25 no vino nadie a abrirnos. En toda esa hora y cuarto solo tuve 2 mensajes: 1 a las 21:30 (ya con 15 minutos de retraso) donde me decía "On the way :) " y otro a las 22:00 donde me comentaba que la persona que venía a abrirme había tenido un pinchazo. No voy a dudar del pinchazo, pero lo que me pregunto es ¿Y los 45 minutos anteriores a la hora pactada, que van desde las 21:15 a las 22,...¿Dónde estaba? ¿Y ese retraso tan grande sin avisar? Eso sin contar que hacía frío, llovía y teníamos hambre por las horas que eran. Que cada uno saque sus propias conclusiones.

  Comments: We were warmly greeted by Maria upon arrival who was more than happy to answer any of our questions. The appartment was clean, and was just as advertised. It is also well situated, near restaurants and the main shopping street. We also took up our host on passing by their office, where they kindly helped us with our flight back. All in all, a great experience with very friendly people.

  Comments: Un super logement près du centre ville. Nous avons visité une partie de porto à pied, très jolie la nuit. Le logement est bien aménager et assez calme. Le seul petit bémol étant qu'à notre arrivé, le ménage n'était pas fait. On a tout de même pu poser nos bagages et après une petite balade, on a quand même pu constater que cela a été fait à la va-vite. Mise à part cette petite parenthèse, nous recommandons tout de même cet appartement.

  Comments: L'appartamento è molto bello, in perfette condizioni e con una pulizia impeccabile. Si trova in una via molto tranquilla in prossimità del centro. Viene gestito dal Concierge team motivo per cui la comunicazione non è sempre in real time e "personalizzata". La persona incaricata di effettuare il nostro check in (concordato in nottata) era in ritardo (per concomitanza altri ospiti) ma molto gentile. Al check out il personale delle pulizie si è presentato con mezz'ora di anticipo. Complessivamente è un buon appartamento.

  Comments: Most disappointing Airbnb I have ever booked. We have given the TPC many hours of notice of what time we were going to be arriving. However, when we entered, the place was still dirty from the last guests. Unacceptable. First of all, we had to pick up the key from the TPC office which is a 15 min drive from the apartment, this was fine because it is what was ultimately decide between myself and "Mario". But "Mario" was nowhere to be found when I got to their "check-in" office. I was met with a woman who was too busy yelling on the phone to another AirBnb customer who has booked a different apartment. When I had arrived to the apt, Mario said the crew should be there to clean... But not even an apology? He seemed unapologetic and ended the conversation. The "cleaning crew" finally got to our place maybe 30 minutes later after I had sent messages to TPC staff over (Hidden by Airbnb) because Mario was not replying to messages right away. About the apartment itself, extremely noisy. The family upstairs seemed to have been playing Dance Dance Revolution, or so it felt like for a majority of the time we were there given that i noticed a rhythm in their foot slamming. Jokes aside, I guess there is a lot of kids upstairs and they run around all the time. When the main door to the entire complex is opened, it slams closed and literally rumbles the walls. I am not used to Portuguese infrastructure, but it seems like they built these places with no sound proofing in mind. There is no ventilation in the apartment either, so with all the windows, it gets hot. Impossible to sleep at night for two reasons: The beds are absolute cheap IKEA garbage. Extremely extremely uncomfortable. The pillows are dollar store quality as well. My wife and I had one of the worst sleeps the last night we were there, we even unfolded the pink couch to try to sleep on that and it just gives you back spasms all night. Point #2, since it is hot, you want to open the window? Good luck, the apartment is on a busy street and people love to rip it in their Fiats, Honda Bikes, and trucks on that main road since its a one-way. Expect lots of traffic noise. Even with the window closed. Speaking of no ventilation, there is NO FAN in the bathroom, when you take a shower, i guess you could say the apartment also comes with a free sauna? And when you go to the bathroom and do your business, yeah its going to stink... for a while. The kitchen cutlery is extremely cheap, when i read the brand on the knives, yeah, you got it, IKEA. The "sharp" knife couldnt even cut butter. I sat on this review for a few days and I've toned it down a bit but my wife and I were not happy...

  Comments: This place is much prettier, cleaner, and spacious than it looks in the picture! Great hosts, too. 10/10 would recommend. The stairs might be annoying for people with weak knees or little kids, but other than that, we liked it. The bedroom might feel like a small box but we kept the door open so it wasn't a problem for us. They also gave us a bottle of wine. Who can complain?

He met us on arrival and walked us through everything we needed to know; from local tips about bars to bike rentals to suggestions on how to spend the days and what to plan for when. he even threw in a bottle of wine which was the perfect way to start the trip!   Comments: Beautiful, spacious apartment almost directly in the heart of the historic districts of Porto! With a welcome bottle of red wine and a large heaping of local tips, we couldn't ask for better accomodation! - Everything important to see is very much in walking distance. Location is slightly out of the way, but it also means morning traffic noise is kept to a minimum. - The recommendations for food and sights are all spot on. Be sure to listen and take their handwrittern tips on the map seriously! - Be prepared for lots of communication with the hosts! Maybe check in on your AirBnB messages a couple times a day to keep up!

  Comments: Het appartement zag er precies hetzelfde uit als op de foto's. Het was schoon en ruim. Het appartement ligt centraal van waaruit Porto makkelijk te voet te verkennen is. Daarnaast was onze vlucht 1,5 uur vertraagd. Dit maakte voor de check-in niet uit wat wij erg waardeerde!

  Comments: Points positifs : appartement situé à quelques minutes à pied de la Rua Santa Catharina, animée. Grand espace de vie et la communication facile pour le check-in anticipé. Personnel accueillant. Parking possible dans la rue avec paiement et parking privé en face moins cher que celui de la rue avec des prix pour les personnes qui louent l'appartement. Points négatifs : appartement bruyant aussi bien de l'intérieur et de l'extérieur. Impossible de dormir fenêtre ouverte. La vaisselle utilisée précédemment était sale, mal lavé. Il n'y avait rien pour faire un ménage quotidien lorsque vous restez plus de 2 ou 3 nuits. Dans l'ensemble, pas de regrets mais nous étions avec un bébé donc pas idéal.

  Comments: The Blue Balcony House is in a great location for seeing all of Porto given its proximity to the Bolhao Metro station. We took the Metro everywhere, from the airport to the coast to the across the Douro for Port wine tastings. You can drop your luggage off at their welcome center at the Casa de Musica Metro stations, and walk around a bit and have coffee until the apt is ready. This was a very convenient feature. From Casa de Musica station, you're just a couple stops away from Bolhao station and a few blocks away from the apt. A recommendation for the area: after the sun goes down on weekends, one the commercial streets down the road turns into a pedestrian mall closed to cars and is great for strolling, people-watching and trying pasteis do nata. There's also a Pingo Doce market about 5 blocks away in the same direction so you can stock up your fridge and pick up some (absurdly) cheap Douro wine. Overall, a good place to stay while exploring Porto. One drawback I feel obligated to mention is the significant noise from the road just outside, even at night. With the windows closed and the shutters locked, the noise is muted, but still evident. For those who like windows open or are bothered by the sounds of a city, I would take this into consideration. We only stayed here, so it may be that road noise is a feature of all apartments in Porto. But that said, for the location, service, and price, the Blue Balcony House was a good place to stay for our three days in Porto. Thank you TPC.

  Comments: The flat is okay. It is not very clear from the pictures, but the bedroom is actually inside an isolated container inside the flat with no windows and poor air circulation. If you ever dreamt of sleeping in a wardrobe, this is your chance!

  Comments: Excelente apartamento en el centro de la ciudad con una buena comunicación (paradas de autobús y metro cercanas). El apartamento estaba muy limpio y super equipado con todo tipo de electrodomésticos y menaje (satenes, platos, cubiertos, vasos, decantador de vino, tostadora, cafetera, batidora, exprimidor eléctrico, plancha...). Además Felippe, que fue quien nos realizó el check-in en el apartamento, nos dio todo tipo de recomendaciones sobre que barrios visitar y actividades que hacer e información sobre restaurantes.

  Comments: Hemos pasado 4 días en el apartamento de Mario, y ha estado genial. El apartamento está preparado a tu llegada, limpio, con té y café, una botella de vino... La cocina está equipada con tostadora, sandwichera, kettle y cafetera de cápsulas. También hay un horno y un microondas. Puedes encontrar ollas y sartenes en los armarios y cubiertos en los cajones. El baño estaba muy limpio y también está equipado con secador. El dormitorio pequeñito pero super acogedor. La cama es comodísima y las almohadas también. En general muy recomendable, es un apartamento muy céntrico. Nosotros no hemos utilizado metro para nada, solo el primer día para llegar.

  Comments: Mario's place is more or less exactly as described and represents incredible value for money. It's fairly well located and very easy to reach from the airport via metro - don't waste your money on an Uber! Also there's a bakery on the same street, it looks very cheap and simple but the nata are incredibly good - must try!

  Comments: Apartamento a 10 minutos del centro, todo limpio y con muchas facilidades (cafetera, batidora, tostadora y mucho menaje en general). Espacioso, buena iluminacion. La cama es cómoda también. Estuvimos como en casa. Lo único malo es que no dispone de calefacción, pero puedes encontrar un radiador portátil fácil de usar. Si volvemo a Porto, este será nuestro apartamento de nuevo.

  Comments: 숙소 근처에 메트로 역이 있어 캐리어로도 이동이 편했고, 포르토 주요 관광지들에서 걸어서 10-15분 거리에 위치해 접근성이 아주 좋습니다. 시설이 생각보다도 훨씬 좋고, 가장 까다롭게 생각하는 화장실 상태도 호텔 못지 않았습니다. 또한 조리 도구와 소금까지 구비되어있어 저녁에 숙소에 들어와서 고기도 구워먹고 환영 선물로 주신 와인도 곁들였습니다. 티비 밑 수납장에 다리미도 있어 와이셔츠 구겨 넣어 다니는 여행자분들도 유용하게 사용하실수 있을 것 같습니다. 숙소에 창들이 커서 밤에는 조금 쌀쌀한데 침실에 라디에이터가 있어 따뜻하다못해 덥게 잤습니다. 마리오 사랑합니다.

  Comments: The house is in a great position, and it has a lot of space inside to be comfortable with. It was perfect for us because we both needed to work on our laptop sometimes and we had the perfect space to do it. The house at night was quite cold, but we managed to put the provided heating device in the bedroom before going to sleep to not have problems. There was no self check-in, but we were welcomed by a very nice Porto Concierge lady that showed us everything we needed to know. We will definitely come back!

  Comments: Расположение отличное. Старый город и пешеходная улица в 2 шагах. Рядом паркинг, куда можно за 15 евро в день поставить машину. Встретил русскоязычный агент и дал несколько полезных советов, что посмотреть в Порту. Порекомендовал прекрасный ресторан с местной кухней Сантьяго . Обязательно сходите и попробуйте Франсизинью, в других городах Португалии мы ее не встречали. Цены вполне приемлимые. Приходить лучше около 18, место очень популярное, потом придётся стоять на улице и ждать. В целом, квартира замечательная. Все есть!

  Comments: L’appartement est nickel, récemment rénové à l’intérieur comme dans les parties communes. Effectivement l’isolation phonique et thermique n’est pas au top, prévoyez simplement un pyjama un peu chaud pour les plus frileux. Sinon l’emplacement est génial et vous permet de visiter la ville facilement à pieds ! Serviettes, gel douche, plan de la ville et même bouteille de vin sont fournis à votre arrivée !

  Comments: Parfait séjour chez Mario. Nous avons vraiment apprécié le lieu et la proximité avec le centre ville. L’appartement est pratique, fonctionnel et relativement propre. Très bon rapport qualité-prix. Il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour le premier jour (serviettes, savons,cafés etc.) il nous a juste manqué un torchon pour essuyer la vaisselle. L’accueil était parfait. Nous sommes arrivées un vendredi soir vers 23h30 et avons été accueillies sans problème. Merci beaucoup à toute l’équipe !

Our host was very friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone planning to go to Porto. Would stay here again myself. We were well received and got some tips on where to do groceries and what places to visit. This place and the host made our visit to Porto a real 10/10
