Neighborhood Overview: We love living in NYC for the culture, music, and people. You will meet all kinds of people when you visit and that is a wonderful experience. As you explore any borough of NYC, you can see the culture change from street to street! It’s a great experience to have and tell.

Notes: The apartment is on the fourth floor. The guest will have to walk up and down since there isn't an elevator in the building. All guest should be aware/mindful that this is a city and that most apartments don't have elevators or an elevator that works. This means that neighbors can/ might make noise at random times throughout the day and night. The neighborhood is a safe location but for your satisfaction/comfort/ease of mind, the police station is across the street on the corner!

Transit: You can catch a cab by simply stepping outside or ordering an Uber if you don't feel like walking to the MTA bus/train stop. depending on where you plan on going, you can walk and enjoy the sites of the Bronx!

Access: The guest bedroom in the back is another Airbnb listing which makes this room private and unavailable unless you book this additional space. The bathroom (1 shared bathroom), living room and kitchen are shared with other Airbnb guest booked in the other room/listing. I may need to use the kitchen once in a blue if needed. Each guest/booked room will have a set copy of keys to come and go as they please. this will give you access to the main door downstairs, upstairs and your room only.

Interaction: Emma will always socialize with the Airbnb guest when available or needed. She is friendly helpful and loves talking about education and life. She also gives the guest space to venture off on there own to enjoy NYC the Bronx! She is available by phone or text if you have any questions. if you can't reach out to her, I'm also available to assist if needed!

Comments: Emma is a wonderful host. I would definitely recommend her ! My time of arrival was very uncertain and yet she welcomed me the nicest way. She took the time to explain to me how to get around and reach Manhattan (bus and train) and she made sure that I spent a great time at her place.

Comments: Emma is a such a nice person. She made my stay at her place very comfortable. She was always available and willing to help. I stayed at her place for 2 weeks for my family medicine rotation. She has a very pleasant personality and the room was clean and cozy.

Comments: Emma is a lovely host who was more than friendly over our trip. She provided comforts like chilled bottles of water which were much appreciated. Check-in went smoothly and the room itself was also lovely and clean and contained two full sized double beds. Plenty of towels and toiletries were also provided. The location is a bit of a trek from the subway, with the two main lines serving the area (the D and the 2) being about 20 mins away from the house uphill part of the way.

    Comments: Clean, quiet place.

Comments: Emma is a nice person and the rest of my stay was fine, there was just some difficulty entering the house on my first night and I had difficulty reaching her. also the private key to my room did not work so I could not lock it as I went out but I did not see her in the house to mention this. overall my stay was okay and the house was clean.

Comments: Emma's apartment is very tidy, clean and makes you feel like being home from the very first moment. Since I only stayed three nights and we were both quite busy I only chatted with her for a couple of minutes. However I experienced her as a very kind and lovely host. Her apartment is located in the Bronx from where it takes a while to Manhattan. On the first view the area does not look very nice. However on the second view people are very nice and helpful. My impression was that the area is safe which was also confirmed by Emma.

Comments: I came as a medical student on residency interviews. Her place was comfortable and private, a nice sanctuary between interviews. I was also around over thanksgiving, and Emma kindly served me dinner as her son was over for the holiday. It was a thanksgiving to remember, and I’m very glad to have stayed with such a thoughtful and kind host.

Comments: Great and cozy room with almost everything you need. Emma was an awesome host who worked around my check in. Around a 5-10 minute walk to St. Barnabas hospital for those who are visiting the hospital.

Comments: Emma’s place is neat and suitable for my husband and myself. The location is one mile walking distance from where my daughter lives. The price is fair and we appreciate it. The dresser in the bedroom seemed to block half of the entrance. here is my humble opinion: swab the dresser with the end table ( draw a picture on paper and see if that works .... ). Lily

Comments: The host did what she could to make my stay better, but the mattress i slept on was a complete disaster, when she tried to offer me a Substitute the quality was still poor:(. i got back pain. The area is extremely unsafe the crime rate is high and the neighbors will play music loud! Be extremely cautious as satistics of crime in the area speaks for themselves. The building is dilapidated, and, The host told me the dryer wasn’t working. Breakfast was listed as an amenity and that was an unfortunate mistake but the host did provide some oatmeal tea coffee after i insisted a few times. Overall the host tries to be a nice person. But be careful we had an argument because she didn’t want to lock doors after pple checked out and i had to go to work... so i asked the guests to slide the key under the door on their way out. Also i had to do the checkout for her if i wanted to feel safe. Honestly who doesn’t lock their doors in the bronx?! The wall of my room is a room divider and therefore doesn’t reach ceiling height, this limits your privacy allot. The aircon is broken and blows no cold air and it makes allot of noise, emma offered me a fan instead. i guess thats it.

Comments: Very reasonable price for a comfortable space with nice thoughtful touches. The space has everything you need. The hosts were sweet and charming, communicated swiftly and effectively, and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and satisfied Good location for access to city , CT and Westchester via bus or commuter train

  • Reviewer: Ayala

Comments: Emma is warm and friendly. She will provide you with everything you need. If you are visiting during summer months, please bring mosquito spray. Since the walls don't completely connect to the ceiling, this allows for mosquitos to come in. I was bitten pretty badly. Other than that, I greatly enjoyed my stay. And you will too.

Comments: Endroit propre en plein cœur du Bronx.

  • Reviewer: Mirjam

Comments: It’s a perfect place if you want stay in New York but don’t want to pay too much and still want comfort. The Bronx may be known as unsafe but I didn’t feel unsafe for a minute. All the people I met were very helpful!

  • Reviewer: Jackie

Comments: My stay was great! Although it was a bit noisey at times, it was nothing too crazy. The room i stayed in was great for one person and the mini fridge was a great touch. I didn’t realize the room wouldn’t be fully closed up, so maybe add that to give others the heads up. But other than that, I enjoyed my stay and would love to come back!

  • Reviewer: Abril

Comments: Emma's place is really comfortable, cozy and tidy! The neighborhood is safe, we didn't feel insecure at any moment. Emma is more than a great host!!!!! She is such a lovely person. I highly recommend this place to future guests! You'll enjoy it.

Comments: You know. As my experience of 7 weeks, I move out from one place to another every week, a host is the most important for a guest to feel free to stay. This room is quite away from the train, but the best place in the 7 places. And the washing machine.
