Neighborhood Overview: Le Plateau Mont-Royal is one of Montréal's most popular neighbourhoods. Minutes away from Mont Royal metro, cheap groceries, interesting and unique spaces such as bars, art galleries, concert venues and boutiques line the streets of Le Plateau. Located in a small alleyway street, Le Plateau is filled with beautiful, classic Montréal architecture.

Notes: The unit is located on top of a spiral fire escape-style staircase, and the bed is accessible only by a wooden ladder. You must be in good physical condition to access this space. It is ideal for a single individual, or mature couple looking for a unique, serene environment that is centrally located to the attractions and neighborhoods of Montréal.

Transit: In addition to the conveniently located Mont Royal & Sherbrooke Metros as well as STM bus lines, the plateau is filled with Bixie (hourly/trip rental) bike stands and Car2Go parking. Additionally a small cycle shop a 10 minute walk away provides affordable bike rentals for day or week-long trips.

Access: Washroom with shower and small, full kitchen complete with mini fridge and built in mini-range are directly in the loft. The fire escape from the backyard leads to the front door, and a gated back yard provides privacy and safety for guests. As the unit is located in the back of a family home, noise must be kept to a minimum in the evenings.

Interaction: We have a lock-box so you can let yourself in at your convenience on check-in, or if you prefer we can provide a welcoming visit for guests in the event they'd like to learn a bit more about the neighbourhood or space. Up to you!

House Rules: Quiet, respectful guests only. This is a private space attached to a family home, please respect the privacy of the family in the home, they aren't the hosts! Please do not go to them if you have questions, call us instead. The yard behind the house is off limits. Absolutely no smoking, parties, or loud noise in the apartment. Unfortunately the property is not suitable for pets and they are not allowed. The property is solely for the party booked in. Any booking obtained under false pretenses will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in. (Copy of Passport may be required). We are not responsible for any loss of valuables or property during your stay or left after departure. Should you forget something we will do our best to get it back to you, once you let us know how you wish this to be done at your risk.     Comments: Laurel's loft is indeed magical. I loved every minute of my stay there. Comfy sleeping area; comfy desk and chair for working; beautiful view of the backyard garden through a big window; skylight to gently wake you in the morning; nice, clean bathroom; kitchen with two stove tops (no oven) where one can do decent cooking--- it was all that I was looking for. The loft is quite compact but very functional and beautiful, it worked perfectly for me. PLUS the location - Duluth Avenue, St. Denis Street, La Fontaine Park, Mont Royal Park, etc, are all steps away or within easy reach. PLUS the host - Laurel was so thoughtful, responsive, helpful, and kind. I recommend this place with no hesitation.

    Comments: I loved staying here. It's super cozy and the location is fantastic, just one street away from a bunch of bars and restaurants! Laurel, even though I didn't get to meet her face to face, was highly available, accommodating and very friendly. Keep in mind this place is tiny!! I do not recommend it for people who like to hang out in the appartment too much. I would highly recommend it for people like me who spend most of there time out and about and just need a nice cosy place to lay there head down for the night. If I go back to Montreal I hope to stay there again.

The location is great and Laurel was a very communicative and accommodating host. We would love to stay here again. The location was ideal; I walked everywhere and only took the Metro/bus to and from the airport, plus the neighborhood is adorable with lots of cute houses and fun murals nearby, as well as tons of restaurants and bars.

    Comments: Location!! Great for walking and close to Metro. Close to many great restaurants for evening dining and morning walks for pâtisserie and café. Laurel is an excellent host and responds quickly to messages. There was a small issue that Laurel addressed immediately and resolved very generously. I would recommend this accommodation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Comments: Laural was super nice and helpful. She went out of her way to make delayed baggage arrive at the flat late at night (~ 1 am) as I didn't have a local phone number. This was super helpful. Only drawback was the loud fridge which got better once I place some paper towels on top. Otherwise I slept like a baby. The place is cute and nicely located and has everything you need. I would def come again. Thanks!

    Comments: The best choice I could have made for my first days in Montreal! Laurel was the best hostess and Hobbit's place the best airbnb ever! The location is perfect, the apartment is magical, inspiring, full of loving details. Many trees around and a ceiling where you can sleep looking at the moon and talking to the stars. Laurel was really nice and helped me a lot. Everything was clean and a lovely welcome message with some coffee were waiting for my arrival. Thank you for opening your home for me!
