Comments: This place is in a neighborhood where I used to live, and I really enjoyed being back. There weren't many surprises for me. The apartment was clean and filled with sun. The cat is delightful and so is the turtle! Even though we didn't actually meet, Natalia was a gracious and generous hostess via email. The A train is right outside. The gypsy cabs are honking 24/7, but that is New York. I recommend this place!

Comments: Inwood is my new favorite place! Natalia's apartment couldn't have been in a better location - close to everything you could possibly need. Her studio is very spacious, with the most comfortable bed ever. Natalia is extremely helpful and caring. She took the time to explain every small detail about the apartment and even bought an iron because I said I needed one! Her pets are adorable and fun to be with. Thank you Natalia, I hope I can stay here another time.

Comments: had a great time at Natalia's. She and her boyfriend were very helpful and the check in/out process was smooth. The apt was immaculate and the location of was perfect in terms of transportation. All in all, great stay, and a great host!

Comments: The apartment was clean upon arrival and super cozy. Natalia left us a guide to her neighborhood which saved us from having to research where the basics were. By staying here, I was also introduced to a neighborhood that I had never visited while I lived in NYC. It's awesome. Emilia is a super friendly cat and Pedro the turtle pretty much keeps to himself. I'd book Natalia's apartment again!

Comments: Natalia is a great host, she is very friendly and super helpful. She was great with communication and always replied promptly even when I didn't ha ha. She even took the time to gather directions from the airport to her apartment. She also listed nearby locations for shopping and even a laundromat. How's that for going above and beyond? I also need to point out she did all of this without a single minute of face time. That's right my girlfriend and I were well taken care of and we actually didn't see Natalia once. Which was a shame because she was really nice. Her place very clean, quiet and in a superb location! Nearly anything you need is withing walking distance. Including transport by train or bus. She has the nicest cat, Emilia which will keep you company if you travel alone. Her turtle Pedro is really fun to watch while dinning at her table. My girlfriend and I cooked nearly every other night of our stay and Natalia's kitchen has all the basics covered. Her internet access is fast, we watched a few shows on Netflix with no problem, and speaking of shows Natalia has great taste in movies her little library has something for everyone. I recommend Natalia for being an excellent host, and her wonderful home for all of it's amenities and awesome decor.

Comments: My daughter & I stayed at Natalia's apartment this weekend. It was my daughter's first trip to NYC and i was glad we found a place to stay where we could get a quiet night's sleep, away from the horns honking, on the comfiest bed ever. Natalia was super easy to communicate with -- I already felt I trusted her, even before we arrived. The apartment was spacious, secure, warm & cozy...a home away from home. Will stay at Natalia's again & again!

Comments: Natalia was a good host. She was personable and friendly. Her apt is located a block away from a subway station in the upper upper west side. Very safe area just a few minutes walk from the cloisters. He pets are super cute. Especially the cat. She's a riot! :) One thing was the automatic heater. It was a little loud in the dead of the night but we much rather be warm on such cold nights :)- Great stay!!!!

Comments: Natalia was responsive and nice. From the beginning she contacted me and let me know she was there for any questions. Her boyfriend Mike met us at the apartment and showed us the ropes, and Natalia provided a list of nearby restaurants, etc. The apartment was clean and great - exactly as advertised on Airbnb. The turtle and cat are very sweet, too. The place is convenient to (a few steps away from) the subway, and around good, affordable restaurants & bars. Inwood is nice, but far out - so waiting on the A train was the only down side. I would absolutely stay again. Thank you, Natalia and Mike!

Comments: I was in New York for an event, and was looking for a place to stay that felt like home where I could cook my own meals, as well as sleep as late as I wanted without being disturbed. Natalia of course was nice enough to let me stay at her place, and arranged a really close place to the Port Authority to pick up the keys to the place, which really helped me out. I was quite happy with where her place was located, especially since it was in a spanish neighborhood and I love authentic spanish food. Her cat was a good friend to me and enjoyed all the attention I gave her, as well as the company to. Natalia also left me a list of local restaurants and where they were located, as well as where local grocery stores were which was a big help being from out of town. I would highly recommend her place to anyone else looking for a place to stay in New York. I will happily stay here again next time im in New York if her place is available to stay at. The place looks exactly like the pictures she has taken and posted, but even roomier and tons of light and fresh air come in at all times of the day, and you also get a nice view of the local neighborhood you are staying in.

Comments: My sister and I enjoyed our weekend in New York and staying in Natalia's apartment made things so much easier for us with my daughter living only 1 1/2 blocks away. We spent very little time in the apartment and worried about her pets, but it was quiet and such easy access. I'm sure we will do it again.

Comments: I agree with the positive opinions of the previous guests--Natalia is a pleasure to deal with and her apartment is priced just right. She communicates effectively and has a welcoming personality. We felt secure in the neighborhood and the neighbors were quiet during the two weeknights we were there--only thing were occasional doors closing down the hallway a few times, and as mentioned by another guest, the cab drivers use their horns a lot, evidently to greet each other. (This is typical throughout NYC, and would make for a potential doctoral dissertation for an ambitious sociology graduate student. Best spin I can put on it.). No, the car horn is everywhere to be heard all over this town. Anyway they did tone it down later in the evening. Natalia's cat Emilia is a very considerate roommate--she does not romp around the room, pester for food, beg to be let out (she's an indoor cat), or have any disagreeable aspects to her personality, which is friendly. For a cat owner, you will appreciate this, and if you are new to cats, don't worry. This cat is a class act. As far as trying to rate the neighborhood goes, with a 5 being a Park Ave. address, or a nice tree-lined street in the Village, etc., near a station, it isn't that, but it doesn't cost 300 per night either. I don't want to be around that type of alien situation, anyway, so I'm not rating by numbers on that. It is not only by one station that has express service, but another subway line is nearby and across the street is a coffee shop that offers varietal coffees--they list it as "pour over" on the menu as opposed to the house coffee and espresso drinks, made by the cup in one of those glass coffee pots. You will taste the "notes" of various berries and fruits, as you do with varietal wines over on the East Side, with these different coffees. I could go on further with this. All in all, we left feeling happy and well taken care of. We were so busy, we didn't get around to picking her brains about going thrifting and getting deals on things around town, but maybe next time... Thank you, Natalia!

Comments: Pros: The apartment is as pictured, a large studio on the fifth floor in an elevator building. Natalia was very accommodating and told us to help ourselves to anything in the kitchen. The cat, Emilia, was a delight - friendly and quirky. The bed is comfortable. Natalia has Direct TV, HBO, and an extensive collection of movies. Cons: It would be nice to have a sofa to sit on; one has to sit on the bed to watch TV or read. This is a pre-war building; the radiator heat cannot be adjusted, and it was very hot in the evening. We had to open the window and use the fan to keep it from being too hot. This seems like a waste of energy, but this seems to be the way it is in any of the pre-war buildings in NYC.

Comments: Natalia's place was great! A nice size studio just steps from the subway. She was there to greet us and give us some tips for the neighborhood as well as the city. She made us feel very comfortable staying there. I would recommend it to anyone.

Comments: I don't need to say much except that I would definitely stay at Natalia's place again. It's clean, spacious, quiet and 30 seconds away from Isham/Inwood parks. Her and Mike are lovely people and will make your stay comfortable. They even emailed me all the instructions on how to get from JFK to Inwood prior to my arrival. Thanks Natalia & Mike.

Comments: We have spent one week at Natalia house's and it was great to leave in this apartment. We have really enjoy the time past in her neighborhood : near of subway , great mexican food (nachos hmmmmm!!!) , a lot of practice market,... Natalia is a good host , before the travel , during and after the departure. Actually, it was our first time with airbnb and she make us feel confident. By the way these pets are so cool , in particulary pedro the turtle....

Comments: We had a wonderful time staying in Inwood this weekend. Natalia was more than helpful, incredibly responsive, and had many great recommendations. The neighborhood is fantastic, the apartment just right for the two of us. We also very much took a liking to Pedro the turtle :). The farmer's market was a serious highlight - being French, it was a real pleasure seeing three different bakers!

Comments: We were really safe and comfy here and loved the kittie and turtle as our return hosts after long two days of fun in NYC. The flat was clean, easy to work in on internet, and all communications were smooth and friendly. Finally we got to go on two great walks in the forest and I can tell you that is awesome. The cafe across the street is yummy and the decor of objects in the flat , so fun to look at . (My Mom wants the fan ! )The A train immediately outside was a gift, and the parking at 15 $ per 24 hr , a bargain if you have to garage a car! Recommended !

Comments: Dear All! I stayed at Natalia's place for 4 days in May. I truly can say that I had an amazing time in New York. Natalia also contributed a great part to my stay. She is very communicative and responsive. Whenever you have a question, she is very quick to respond and very concerned about your well-being. I would definitely recommend her place if you set a high value on a clean, big and tidy room in a cool area. Admittedly it takes a while to get to downtown NYC, but it is worth the ride. In case you are concerned about feeding the cat, please don't worry about it. You feed the cat in the AM and in the PM. The cat food is of course provided by Natalia. The turtle doesn't need to be fed, since it has all been taken care of by Natalia before your arrival. All in all, Natalia (and her boyfriend Mike) are great hosts and I am very happy to know them for my next trip to NYC. You all take care! Best, Paul

Comments: It was an absolute pleasure staying at Natalia's place. This being my first time renting at airbnb, I was a bit apprehensive to start with. Natalia ensured that all my doubts were cleared, was very responsive and went out of the way to ensure that I had a comfortable stay in her apartment. The apartment was of perfect size and was clean and tidy, absolutely no complaints at all. Even the location is pretty good in the sense that there is a grocery store just around the corner, a thai restaurant in front, a Baskin robins outlet next block and cab service nearby. Moreover, Manhattan was just one train ride away. Lastly, the cat, Emelia is very quite and docile. I was worried that my family might be a bit perturbed due to its presence, but it turned out in fact to be contrary and my son liked playing with it. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and will not hesitate to rent out again from Natalia.

Comments: My stay at Natalia's apartment was great. It's a relatively spacious, convenient apartment right at the end of the A train line. The commute to midtown/downtown takes some time, but it's reasonable. It's decorated with all sorts of cute and quirky curiosities, many turtle-themed. Natalia herself is very friendly, helpful and easy to communicate with. I thought caring for the cat might be a hassle; actually, having a friendly feline companion was a positive experience (even though she ran out onto the fire escape one time - Natalia returned very quickly and brought Emelia back in.) Overall, this is a great apartment to stay in and I'd happily come back.

Comments: I loved Natalia's apartment and the Inwood neighborhood. The building is sparkling clean and super quiet. The apt. is directly across the street from one subway line and a few blocks from another. The neighborhood is lively. There are beautiful parks and a wonderful Dominican street scene. I loved coming home at night to the sounds of salsa, fruit vendors, fresh juice and delicious food. I even got my hand henna.designed in a small storefront operated by a woman from India. The hood is super safe. Natalia is a great host. A couple of things you may want to know is that the apt is not a one bedroom but has one big room plus kitchen and bathroom. There is no place to unpack. The cat is great company but you will be expected to empty litter box as well as feed and cuddle. I was traveling solo and light and had no complaints. Would definitely return and recommend to others, especially for the price.

Comments: Natalia's place is great. Very clean and everything you need is right there. Subway is one block away (A train) and it's two blocks from my new grandson! The parks around are beautiful. Great coffee shop across the street and terrrific restaurants. We will stay there every time we come to NYC is it's available.

Comments: Staying at Natalia's place was really awesome! Natalia was very friendly and caring and gave us lots of tips of what we could do in NY and made sure that we would find our way from the JFK airport to her place. I loved her apartment! Her cat and turtle were so cute and it was fun to have them there during our stay! I think it was nice to stay a bit outside the most central parts of NY and get to know the northern parts of Manhattan! :)

Comments: My wife and I had a great stay in Inwood! We used it as a quiet retreat for our Manhattan @ boroughs explorations, and were very happy with the apartment. It was clean and quiet, and the neighbourhood felt welcoming and safe. The apartment is large, and the bed is very comfortable. Everything was in working order, and the cat was very happy to be cuddled with in the evenings. We emptied her cat litter before leaving in the mornings, and were otherwise not much bothered by her presence. We ate our breakfasts at the absolutely great cafe just across the street called Darling Coffee, and then took the A-train into town. It's a half hour ride on the express, so you have time to read your guidebook or observe the local New Yorkers on the train. We would absolutely recommend this apartment if you don't have to live on Time Square, the subway service is frequent and can be found almost anywhere you go. The upside is that you get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city when you want to sleep and relax. Unfortunately we never got to explore the forest, but that's for next time I guess :)

Comments: This location is convenient and was the perfect landing pad for my visit to NYC to attend a baby shower in the same neighborhood. I wholeheartedly recommend Natalia's to anyone who is looking for a comfy, cozy and relaxed place to land in Inwood. Natalia is a lovely host and gave me all the information I needed to get around and check in without stress. She also provided towels and linens (of course). The building is also really nice with some lovely art deco features.

Comments: Great experience! Super friendly host and convenient amenities. I highly recommend this one!

Comments: Natalia's apartment is very well located, with the A train right on the corner and the 1 train not far away. There is a great coffee shop across the street, along with a decent Thai place and an upscale bar/cafe. It's also close to Inwood Hill Park which is a beautiful and safe park to enjoy. Natalia met me on arrival and explained the apartment and the pet care responsibilities to me and communicated very well during my stay. The pets are certainly easy to care for, but the sea turtle's extreme eagerness to either play or get out of his huge aquarium made me a bit uncomfortable. I would say this is a fairly typical New York studio apartment for a young person. It's clean but a bit cluttered. The building is clean and safe looking and has an elevator. There is also an elevator to/from the subway on the corner so you won't have to lug your bags upstairs on arrival. If you're comfortable with pet care and the NYC subways, this is a good place to hang out for a few days.

Comments: What an easy trip. Worked with us on check in/out times. Close to subway ( 75 ft) a real Great neighborhood. Had $20 dollar lobster and steak within walking distance. Yara made it so easy as this was our first time using airb&b. Absolutely no problems. Uptown was great location to see the tourists spots while also getting a feel for living in a real Nyc neighborhood. We were out front of the building smoking at all hours of the day/night and felt safe at all times. Told Yara if I knew anyone going to Nyc I would send them her way and I mean it. Thanks again for everything. Tell Pedro and the cat hello. Josh and Jamie

Comments: This was my first visit to USA. Natalia greatly contributed towards first positive experience. She made sure that I will have all the necessary information before arrival and accessibility needed for a great holiday. It was nice to meet Natalia at the arrival. She showed a lot of positive energy and flexibility. The apartment is sunny and comfortable placed in a quiet neighbourhood. It was nice to come back to a lively apartment and to Emilia after a long day of site seeing (instead of a grey hotel room). I think this is a right way to see NY.

Comments: My friends and I stayed at Yara's apartment and had a great time. It was very last minute, as my friends missed their flight back to Arizona and needed a place to stay. I didn't have room for them so they suggested this thing called Airbnb. We were lucky enough to find Yara's place, which isn't too far from me, and were able to rent it last minute. We had a fun time for our girls’ slumber party. Her pets Pedro and Emelia and really cute and friendly. Her apartment was clean and comfortable, and we liked all the quirky decor, especially the horror stuff as we all love scary movies! The big Cleopatra Jones poster in the bathroom is AMAZING!! Yara herself is really cool too. Friendly and ultra-knowledgeable about the area, I even learned a few new places to go. Glad I found this chick, as now I have a new friend in Inwood!! : )

Comments: Terrific stay! Excellent experienced host: Yara was very easy to work with, her communication with us was perfect (including checking in on how we were doing). Excellent accommodations: studio with full kitchen, in well-kept safe-feeling building. Excellent location: we were visiting family who live in the neighborhood, but even if you are focused on farther downtown, the location is great - the A train stop is 1/2 block away, 1 train not much farther, coffee shops, restaurants and ATMs right on the block, even a farmer's market on Saturday mornings 1.5 blocks away. The cat and turtle were a nice addition. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thanks, Yara!

  • Reviewer: Fabian

Comments: Yara was a good host who was able to accommodate us on very short notice. The place: While you get a good deal on a spacious apartment (New York standards), you will also have to be comfortable living with a cat and turtle. I personally would have preferred a minimalistic interior, but others may enjoy the retro collection and artsy side of this place. A real New York experience.

Comments: I thoroughly loved Yara's place! It's neat, clean and inhabited by a lovely Cat. Her place is very close to a subway station and has some great bars and restaurants nearby. Both Yara and her partner are more than welcoming and so helpful with all manner of questions you have about NYC. Top hosts! You'll love the place.

Comments: My brother and I stayed at Yara's apartment for four nights and we don't really have any complaints. The only thing was she has Incense sticks and my brother doesn't like the smell of them and even though they weren't on, my brother could still smell it ( he's sensitive lol) but all we did was moved it to the other room and moved it back before we left. And it was fine. Other then that everything was good. We felt very safe. We got a little lost at 3am and never felt like we were in danger or anything like that. Her pets are super low maintenance. I didn't really mind caring for them since I have cats of my own. If anything it made me feel at home. Yara's cat is pretty funny actually. Train was less then a minute walk away. Yara was very accommodating to our check in hours since we had an early flight. So we were able to check in as soon as we got to NY.

Not only will I stay again but I feel I have made a new friend. Inwood is an amazing place a real gem in the city. I cann't tell you enough how pleased I'm with my stay Yaras home.

Comments: Both the host and her boyfriend made us feel incredibly welcome and at home! Super nice and attentive to any questions we might have had. And hangin with a turtle and the friendliest cat I've ever had the pleasure of meeting was the cherry on top!

Comments: I had a wonderful experience staying in Yara's Airbnb. Her and Mike are very welcoming and genuinely nice people. The Airbnb was cozy and artsy with lots of taste and style and has a bunch of great classic movies to choose from, along with Netflix, A Roku, and cable. As well as an iPad incase you need to get on the Internet. The studio is located on the 5th floor with a view from the bed that is soothing and beautiful to watch in the morning with a cup of tea when the sun rises. Yara and mike even offerd me there personal bikes to get around the city. They have a very friendly cat who loves to get in bed and snuggle with you. the neighborhood is very safe and conveniently located next to Cafes, restaurants and a subway station on the same block. at the last minute, I asked Yara if I could stay for 2 extra days and she told me that it was fine which I thought was very nice considering the last minute change. I ended up having to leave early so I didn't stay the extra days but the next time I'm in NYC Yaras studio is the place I want to stay! (also very very affordable) I think she should also pursue a career in interior designing! haha but thanks Yara and Mike!

Comments: By far the best airbnb experience I've had to date! Natalia was a very friendly and gracious host. I came into New York really late and by the time I got to her house, it was passed midnight. But Natalia was very welcoming! We had great communication with each other from the minute I booked her place. The place was so clean, homey and comfy. It is literally steps from 207th street on the A train. You can't get better than that! Plus it's in the middle of great restaurants of all kinds and shopping. Staying at Natalia's studio was like heaven!!! Best of all, she has a lovely cat, Emelia and a pet turtle, Pedro

Comments: Yara was a great host, she was very responsive, kind, and provided my friends and I places to go while we were there for our stay. The place is next to public transit which makes it very convenient to go anywhere easily. Would definitely come back on my next visit to NY.
