  Comments: My stay in Marina's apartment was a great experience. She is a nice, considerate and knowledgeable lady. I enjoyed talking with her. Plus, her daughter Anoki is a sweet and pretty girl, i wondered how could she not become a model instead of a accountant in the near future:). Overall, i am very happy with my choice at Cohen's. I highly recommned other young folks chose the same place. The location is convenient, you can reach any attractions by subway and bus. And there are several grocery stores, which provide almost every basic needs. I definately will book Cohen's next time when I go to NYC!

The apartment: very cozy, nice, colorful, comfortable, clean and quiet The building: safe, huge, with elevator, with nice people The room: very clean, beautiful! Anuki and Marina have been like a family to me, even if for a few days, helping me with any problem I could have. They are sweet and always available, even by phone or mail. The internet is really fast, and the location is perfect, just beside the subway! I surely recommend their room to anyone, and I'd surely come back here!

  Comments: We've spent a wonderful time at Marina's appartment! The place was clean, the bed was comfortable even though the street was a bit noisy. Marina and her lovely daughter Anuki have been very helpful to my boyfriend and I during our stay in New York. It was our very first time in NYC. Marina's flat place was ideally located, in beautiful Harlem, above Central Park. Tne underground station is very closed, at the corner of the street. Thank you Marina and Anuki, we loved staying at your place and we love New York!

Marina and her daughter were extremely helpful, but not at all invasive. The whole apartment was very clean and comfortable and I'm really glad I stayed there. I'd definitely stay again.

  Comments: It was our first time using Airbnb and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The room was exactly as pictured, the apartment was super-clean and the building was well located -- half a block from the subway (and close to some great places to eat including soul food joints, value-for-money Senegalese restaurants and -- our favourite -- the fantastic Taco Mix at 234 East 116th St). Perhaps most importantly, though, Marina and her daughter were really friendly and helpful. They weren't always around, so we had plenty of privacy, but when we did see Marina she was full of ideas about how to make the most of our time in New York City. We probably wouldn't have made it to Zabar's deli without her encouragement, for example. All-in-all we'd recommend this room to anyone looking for an affordable and friendly place to stay in NYC. Being there felt more like staying with a family member than paying for a room. The only problem for us is wondering whether our next Airbnb experience will live up to the standards of the first one!

They ensured I had everything I needed during my stay with them. The room was immaculate and the restroom was always spotless. The nearest subway stop was a 2 minute walk away. If theyd have me, I would definitely stay there again. A great bargain in a great city!

  Comments: The place is secure and nicely located 3-4 blocks north of Central Park which only took 15min to walk to. Being so close to Harlem you get some 'characters' around the neighborhood but we didn't feel threatened in anyway walking to & from the metro. The flat itself is nice and modern and all you need if you are planning on being in the city most of the time as we were. There is no communal area as such other than a kitchen in the flat but there is a large complex room on the bottom floor if you wanted a bit more space. Great having high-speed internet and maps & guides provided by Marina. We would be back to stay again.

  Comments: Mariana was very pleasant, though we only saw her briefly when we arrived, she was sure to let us know where things were and point out some brochures and maps she had for the city which was very nice. The room was clean and the AC was great. Parking in the area was a bit challenging if you want to try and save money and park on the street to avoid paying high parking garage fees, we ended up not being able to find a place on the street and had to use the parking garage in the neighbourhood. Close to transit which is great as well!

  Comments: The apartment location is very convenient, only one block away from the metro (2 and 3) making it very fast and easy to get to downtown. Marina and Anuki were also very helpful for us to check in and out, and we were able to leave our luggage until late in the afternoon on our last. However, I cannot rate this place more than 2 stars, and here is why. When we got to the apartment, Anuki welcomed us and told us that she opened the window in the room because the heater was broken and we would be too warm to sleep. But when we went to bed, the noise from the street was too loud and we couldn't sleep, so we tried to close the window, and it turns out the window was broken too and could not be closed. So we basically slept in a hot and noisy room for 3 nights... Also, the oven isn't working in the kitchen and there is no microwave, which would have been nice to have instead of using the stove to warm our food up. Hopefully, these will be fixed for the next people staying there... Thank you both anyway, we still got to enjoy the Big Apple!

  Comments: I stayed in the apartment for almost five weeks while visiting a university in NYC. Anuki and Marina are both very nice and sweet persons. They carefully listened to my needs and brought a big desk into the room, so I could work, although I guess this is not a typical wish of their guests. The apartment is nice and tidy. I felt comfortable there. The neighborhood is safe, the Central park is very close. There are two subway stations nearby, so going downtown is not a problem at all. I am glad I can fully recommend staying with these two kind persons. I am grateful for their hospitality and I wish I could stay with them again when visiting NYC next time.

  Comments: I had a very nice stay in Anuki's apartment, it was easy to find, nice building, nice area, practical in many ways and it felt warm and welcoming. I was actually greeted by Anuki's mother Marina, who takes over when Anuki is busy. Both of them are very nice and thoughtful. They care about the place being clean, about being hospitable and making everything very clear and easy for you. I didn't see much of Anuki as she gets up early for work and I often got back late... as a tourist in Manhattan you definitely don't stay in all that much, but if you do, you're sure to feel at ease here. The bathroom is absolutely fine, the kitchen too, everything is clean, and practical. The bedroom was a nice size and had storage to put your things away, a desk to sit at, a very comfortable bed, and in the daytime it gets the sun and you have a nice view over the street and a church. I got a little cold one evening when the temperature went down, but there were plenty of duvets and quilts to be cosy under. Another minor glitch, I did have some work to do one evening and the wifi was not all that reactive. I actually had to abandon trying to send some files, the signal was just not strong enough. However if anything had been a real problem I'm 100% sure that Marina or Anuki would have found a solution, but I didn't actually get the chance to talk about it! Too busy running around New York and trying desperately to get as much input as possible :) I was visiting for just under a week and found Anuki's place to be practical for all the things I wanted to do and see. Very easy access to subway and possible to get down to Times Square in 20 minutes on lines 2/3. And when you've had too much of the action down in the south, it's nice to come back "home" and grab a bite at the Red Rooster or Amy Ruth's. I also tried and loved BLVD Bistro, not far at all. If you're into gospel, this place is great for getting up on a Sunday morning and going to church, loads of choice. Also a short walk to Central Park which I actually walked all the way through, down to the bottom, it was such a beautiful day. Thank you Anuki and Marina for your welcome and for opening your home to us visitors :)

  Comments: Highly recommend the hosts Marina and Anuki who were 100% accommodating for arriving guests. The location is extremely convenient for anywhere - the 2/3 is at the end of the block, and the 4/5/6 or Harlem-125th Station within short walks, plus kitchen facilities, and a laundry room in the building. The neighbourhood has everything needed, including a decent café across the street at Harlem Mist. My thanks to the hosts for an excellent stay.

  Comments: When I arrived, the room pictured was no longer available and I was put in another room which I was told was "better" but it was cluttered and dirty and I felt like I was living in a storage bin. The was a camera mounted in the ceiling directly across from my door which filmed me every time I went to the bathroom. Also, the bathroom was dirty when I arrived and never cleaned while I was there. The garbage was overflowing. The photos show the shared areas (kitchen, bathroom) as uncluttered but there were mops, bags, and cleaning supplies around. Sorry but I can't recommend this place.

The host is nice and prepared several quilts for me and told me if one quilt was not enough, then I could use others as well. The bed is comfortable and I really enjoyed this trip and the experience in this room.

  Comments: The Manhattan Cozy Room was a terrific place for my six week-working stay in NYC. The apartment is convenient - one block from the 2 & 3 subway, and four blocks from the 6. As a solo female I always felt safe in this lively East Harlem neighborhood. I often was coming home late - after 10 PM - and always felt safe walking from the train to the apartment. There was usually an open restaurant or food truck available for a late night meal. There's a very nice neighborhood coffee shop & restaurant across the street. The apartment is cozy; and as Marina stated. It faces the main street, which can get a little noisy, but wasn't that bothersome for me; If you're a very light sleeper, earplugs were provided. Whenever I asked for something - an extension cord, a lamp... Marina supplied it quickly. Since I stayed for 6 weeks, I took yoga classes one block away. I walked to the Apollo Theatre on a Saturday night; had dinner as a local restaurant, and did all my grocery shopping in the area. It was great to have a laundry room in the building! There's no 'commom area,' in the apartment. There is a building yard, but I didn't have time to use it. Having a kitchen was a major pluse for me. Coffee in the AM, and the microwave for heating up food came in super handy. A shared bathroom for three roomies, wasn't inconvenient, since I was on an early schedule. Bottom Line - Manhattan Cozy Room worked well for me! I'd recommend it!

  Comments: Great place! Marina and George (her brother who lived in the apartment) were both very friendly, and I had good experiences with the neighbors. I stayed here for a little over ten weeks, and this location was not only convenient (2/3 and 4/5/6 trains, not to mention lots of bus lines), but also safe for when I returned late at night. The wireless access was reliable, and Marina responded quickly whenever I had questions. Would definitely recommend staying at this place!

  Comments: If you value privacy and cleanliness do not stay here. This was a very disappointing stay. Privacy: the host asked me for a photocopy if my ID, my personal email address, films all the comings and goings with a camera in the flats hallway. Cleanliness: imagine what you see on the pictures, only the run down unkempt version of that. Everything is kind of cluttered, the place is not especially clean and I also did not notice substantial cleaning while I was there. Other than that the place kind of offers what's in the add.

  Comments: Marina is a really nice host. The building is located in a safe area in Harlem neighbourhood. You can find a good supermarket and a CVS pharmacy just around the corner, what is pretty useful for daily life. Also, subway is 2 minutes walking from the building and you can get to Times Square in 20 minutes, maybe a little far away for some other central places (30 minutes) because of the train changes needed. In the flat, you can find basic stuff in the kitchen and in the bathroom. The room has a large wardrobe and storage stuff which helped me to keep all in order. The main point I think it could be better was the cleaning. The flat wasn’t particularly clean a couple of weeks but Marina explained me the cleaning service had a problem and it couldn’t work, so she came and tidied up the common areas. Apart from that, everything was OK. Thank you!

She did everything she can to make sure i can check in early and put my bags in the apartment, even though no body was home. Marina was always available for any question.   Comments: This was a great place. The room(and apartment) was comfortable and suitable for long term stays(I stayed here for almost 4 months). It is very close to subway and groceries. The building is very safe. Marina is always helpful and showed great effort to make me feel comfortable. Her brother George who was staying in the apartment was also very friendly. I found bathroom and kitchen pretty clean. The neighborhood is quite interesting as well. I found it a little noisy at the beginning but got used to it. It took me about 20-25 min by walk to reach to other side of Columbia campus(Mathematics hall), this is probably a reasonable time for NYC.

A cama é bastante confortável e a host disponibilizou lençol, cobertor e toalhas. Não está exatamente como nas fotos, mas as alterações não são significaticas. A limpeza do quarto e da cozinha e a organização da cozinha deixam a desejar se o hóspede estiver acostumado com ambientes limpos, organizados e arejados, mas não é algo que inviabiliza o uso dos espaços e a estada.

  Comments: Marina’s room is a great value for anyone wanting to visit NYC. The room is less than a block from the subway, so getting anywhere throughout the city is extremely easy. It’s also less than a 10 minute walk from Central Park. The area around the room is incredibly diverse and cool to visit. So many cultures in one area. I never felt unsafe, even walking back several blocks after midnight. Marina allows you to use the fridge and any eating utensils you need. There is street parking near the apartment, but it might be difficult to find a spot depending on what time you arrive and you might have to move your car on certain days for street cleaning in order to avoid tickets. There is a parking garage behind the apartment that charges about $20 per day if you use SpotHero. Marina is incredibly friendly and she was very flexible with us for our check in. She is knowledgeable about the area if you need suggestions. I would highly recommend this apartment.

  Comments: Marina is a great host and the apartment is in a safe area. The 2/3 trains stop at the corner of the block and you can walk a couple of blocks in either direction for other lines. There is a gym right next to the apartment which was extremely convenient. Marina gets back to you quickly and addresses your concerns. Overall a wonderful experience.

George, Marina's brother, was really nice, the buildind is great and safe, and the location was very convenient for me (20 min walking from Columbia Univ). Maye it is not the cleanest place, but I understand that this is not a 5* hotel. I have been there for three months and the experience was great. For the price, I would stay there again!
