  Comments: Come to NYC just for this experience alone, and you'll be happy. It was my first trip to NYC and I was traveling solo - Marcella welcomed me like an old friend. The layout of the place is great, you get privacy in the room (lovely view over the park) and can switch off, or you can have a chat with the other guests out in the (massively spacious and bright) loft. It's like being on a film set! There is also a very affordable laundry service in-house. I felt genuinely at home and at ease at the place, and you really can't put a price on that. From this location, Brooklyn and the rest of NYC is your oyster. I was visiting partly on a working holiday and was amazed by all the great options nearby for good coffee and spaces for getting work done. I will be back for sure next time I am in town, and will look forward to it immensely Genuinely lovely and expertly skilled hosts like Marcella make Airbnb the amazing thing that it is.

  Comments: I would like to thank to Marcella for being a fantastic host whose provided me with a travel shelter in her home where I received a warm welcome. I would like to highlight Marcella's quick reaction to my request for a room heater (due to a very bad weather my room was cold). Marcella had it ready for me as soon as I returned from town exploration. I enjoyed returning one evening to a cozy by candles and led lights highlighted loft. I believe especially during warmer season this loft will be perfect.

As a creative I appreciated the aesthetic of the well designed loft. As a person I can't say enough about how comfy the little bed was, and inviting the couches were and how fun and witty the host and her roommate ARE. Close to public transit, places to eat and loaded with Brooklyn charm. Can't wait to stay here again.

  Comments: Great loft in the bushwick district. Super comfi, quiet, great hosts. Although Marcella was not present, she did her best to make my visit as smooth as possible. Her roomie Marisa is also super helpful and cool. Apt is close to public transport, which makes you go to manhatten within 20 min. I d def come back!

Marcella was very excellent with communicating with me, answered all the questions I had plus she did my laundry pretty quickly! The place was nice and clean from the time I checked in until it was time for me to end my trip! It has everything you will ever need and the bed was super comfortable. The loft is pretty close to public transportation and walking distance to a few good spots for good eats or a drink after a long day! This was my first time in New York and first experience with airbnb and it has definitely exceeded my expectations! Thank you again, Marcella for the wonderful stay!

  Comments: The Funky Loft is a dream place for all funky traveller and solo entrepreneurs. The loft is beautifully designed, spacious, comfortable and super clean. Everything is made for you to have a great stay, including a booklet with everything you need to know including area recommendations such as cafes, restaurants & bars. I explored Bushwick night life with its live music bars, only a few blocks away. Creativity is everywhere, inside and outside the loft! I didn't get to meet Marcella because she had to fly to LA but she arranged everything for me to check in smoothly and be welcomed. Communication was perfect, nice and easy. Marcella is a great host and I will definitely come back!

  Comments: Don't look any further for finding the perfect airbnb. Marcella's apartment is the perfect spot to start exploring Brooklyn and the whole of NYC. Also, the place is just absolutely incredible. Marcella and António are very kind and welcoming and it doesn't happen very often that I actually feel at home in an airbnb (even in the ones I really liked) but let me just say that the two of them create such a positive and easy-going atmosphere in their home that it doesn't feel like you're staying with strangers. The J train that connects you conveniently with JFK airport also gets you to other parts of the city. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back.

  Comments: A clean, cozy and trendy home in Brooklyn, complete with 2 lovely welcoming hosts. Location isn't that central but very near to public transport and with a great guidebook by Marcella for advice on what to do/where to get things nearby (very helpful!) Bedroom + bed is a little small tho this is advised before you book, and lack of secure luggage storage meant having to find another option downtown while awaiting a flight. Overall though a great place which you will find to be both welcoming and comfortable.

They are extremely conscientious of making a clean, comfortable space for guests. The room was tiny, cozy and charmingly decorated. There are three guest rooms and thin walls, so it's pretty important you only book if you're interested in respecting the rules. I had a wonderful stay -- everyone there was mellow and sweet.   Comments: I had a lovely stay at the Funky Loft. I was in town for a work trip and booked a few extra days for myself - it was the perfect spot for a solo traveller, and definitely the best place I’ve stayed in New York. The loft is beautiful and I loved the area - away from the intensity of Manhattan but with plenty to do and easily accessible. The loft’s guidebook has loads of local recommendations to explore. Marcella was a lovely, warm host and provided all the info I needed. Be aware, it’s a tranquil space, so they are quite strict on noise and conversations at night and before 10am in the morning. The disclaimer is true - probably not the place to stay if you want to stay in drinking or if you’re on a group trip, but then again, it’s New York so you should probably be out experiencing the city anyway! Definitely recommend this place if you want to stay somewhere fun but peaceful.

Although the loft is located in Brooklyn, it is near J and M train and they can take you into Manhattan in approximately 30 minutes. Marcella and Antonio are great and accommodative hosts. They respond to messages in a short time and will give clear instructions on what to do and what not to do during your stay in their house. Actually, most of the rules are already on the Airbnb websites so be sure to check that out before you book with them. The loft itself is really cool. Its retro style aesthetic makes you feel like you are one of the talented young artist in New York!

There were little notes around the house and a guidebook should you have any questions. Everything was very clear and Marcella or Aria is always around by text or in person. Being able to have breakfast in the morning before heading out was great. There are many shops nearby and the subway is near as well. The neighborhood felt safe and I had no problems when I was staying there. The floor creaks a little when you walk so I had to be careful especially in the night to prevent waking others. I definitely would stay there again!

  Comments: Marcella & Tiffany’s place was like no other i have stayed in! Located in a quiet neighbourhood, just five minutes walk from the subway station, it was like a peaceful, hip oasis. Every corner of the house was thoughtfully done up, it was clean, trendy and had a very positive vibe. Tiffany received me and explained the house rules pretty well, so there wasn't much room for confusion or doubts during my two-day stay here. I really appreciated the fact that she was very particular about cleanliness and house rules. I would highly highly recommend this place. Look no further!

  Comments: I needed a last minute place to book for a weekend in NYC and found this beautiful place was available for only one night (exactly what I needed). I booked and communication about check-in and to address any concerns were almost immediately addressed. I was late for my check-in and tried to give as much notification about my ETA but NYC traffic was congested with many accidents that day. Be mindful, the hosts have to be home to check you in so try to pick a check-in time when you are sure you can be there. Despite my late arrival, they were very accommodating and I felt welcomed. I stayed in one room and mostly had the place to myself. I had never been in a shared Airbnb space but this one definitely set the bar high. The other guests were quiet and clean. Every inch of the home was photographable and well thought out. My only gripe was there were ants in the bedroom which I figured had to do with it being summertime. Given my schedule, I was not able to immediately notify Marcella and Tiffany about the ants. I enjoyed having breakfast tea in the morning and check-out easily. Overall, this was a great experience and I will definitely look into booking this place again.

  Comments: We really felt uncomfortable with the strange communication from a host we never met. Marcella seemed to play 'bad cop' to Tiffany's 'good cop' (other host, who lives there). There seemed to be a long list of rules that weren't clear, and we weren't difficult or rule breaking guests at all, we incorrectly ate something out of the fridge and apologised and replaced with the exact products once we realised our mistake. My 16 year old son started to climb the fire escape ladder outside the building (no, perhaps not the best move, but not meant to disrupt) and set of an alert to the host who then sent an officious and quite unpleasant message - saying it was against the rules set out somewhere that I never saw. I of course apologised, but it was the way Marcella communicated that really made us feel uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. If you want butter on your toast as part of the supplied breakfast you'll need to buy your own. Kindly they supply cereal and bread and jam, milk and tea/coffee but strangely no butter. I asked kindly where it was and was told that in the USA it's not normal to have butter on your toast and they can't be expected to cater for weird customs of people from other cultures. Really? I think we were polite and cleaned up after ourselves and behaved nicely, but on the last morning at 8.05am I used the hairdryer in the bathroom and was reprimanded for being 'noisy' in 'quiet time'. Really? Most people on holiday want to be able to use a hairdryer during 'normal' waking hours. Perhaps the hosts should supply a quieter, higher quality dryer. Honestly the place looks super cute and is wonderfully eclectically styled but it is impractical - nowhere to hang clothes, no room for full sized suitcases in room, only one bedside table on each double bed and strangely pictures are hung on the walls behind the pillows - looks nice but when you sit up in bed you lean on a picture. We all found, and the other American guests who we met (the best part of our stay) did too, that there was a distinct lack of sincerity from the hosts, and to be honest did not feel particularly welcome. One of our party left before the 3 nights were up and we wished we hadn't made the booking. It felt all about the business/$$$ and not about warm and kind homey hosting and values.

It makes you feel at home like you’re going to your really cool grandmothers house the location is perfect because it makes you feel like you’re a “local” walking to the subway and going to the cafes near by, I would definitely explore that area more! The room I had is cozy, might not be big but you don’t need much to be comfortable! If do like it to be super dark, I would suggest an eye mask. Marcella and Tiffany make everything really easy to navigate because they have so many good suggestions and they are great at communicating all the NYC things to the do’s and don’ts of the funky loft ✨ must check this place out!

  Comments: The loft is nicely decorated, comfortable and nice exactly as shown in the photos. The room is gracious and has a very comfortable mattress of great size for one person. Marcella and Tiffany are experienced hostesses and know how to meet the guests needs, including additional amenities such as a guide with local tips and breakfast (simple but thoughtful and providential). The nearby area is not attractive but is safe and with easy access to three metro stations and bus lines. Marcella was traveling, so I was very well received by Tiffany who is a very kind, caring and interesting person. The only negatives were the proximity of the rooms without noise insulation and only have a single bathroom for everyone at the loft (which can reach six people with full house). Pay attention to the rules outlined in the announcement, including the possibility of on-site film and photo shoots, which may temporarily remove you from the location, usually during business hours (it was not a issue for me, since I would be out all day anyway, but may be for someone who needs or wants to use the space for any reason).

  Comments: If you are in New York but doesn't want to stay too close to town and okay with a quiet neighbourhood, then this is ur best bet. Britna hosted me when I was there, and I can tell you she was really lovely and helpful. She would make sure you are well briefed if the space so everyone will make the stay there pleasant. The home of Marcella and Britna is just beautiful. Every corner is artsy and comfy to your eyes. If you are going to be in NYC for a short stay, definitely consider their home. The recommended places by the host was great to. The Bushwick neighbourhood is definitely worth exploring. Travelling is easy, their home is just a 7min walk from the train stn and also the stn is well connected to the airport. If you want to have a nice place to photos and feed ur insta, then this is ur home. 10/10 in everything u want of an airbnb.

  Comments: I can't recommend this place enough! Everything is just as it looks in the photos. The flat is cozy, comfortable, and charming. Marcella and Britna are excellent hosts. They are easy to get in touch with and quick to respond. The check-in and out process is flexible and easy. Though the room is small, it's got everything you might need – a place to hang your clothes, room to store your luggage, a small table and chair, and a comfy bed with ample space for items you might need nearby at night (water or a book). Their place is conveniently located a few blocks from the M and J subway lines, making travel into the city easy. The breakfast in the morning is simple but nice to have if you want to have a small bite while planning your day. Can't think of anything that needs improvement, and I hope to stay here again!

From the start, communication was incredibly strong and responsive with each of them and they went above and beyond to ensure that any questions I may have had were answered. Their home is absolutely gorgeous, sparkling clean, and so conveniently located to many of Bushwick’s charming locations! I planned my stay around a concert I attended at the venue Elsewhere, which was a brief 20 minute walk away. The neighborhood has plenty of local shops and restaurants, and their loft is a quick walk from the Myrtle Avenue subway station. Britna greeted me and did a really wonderful job of making me feel right at home and welcomed. I only stayed for one night, but their home was adorably decorated and a dream loft, especially for any artist! The details in all their styling were beautiful and they provided breakfast and great local tips. The value of this Airbnb is beyond incredible! And staying while other guests were present was a really cool experience! I couldn’t have asked for a better stay! I absolutely loved my stay at the Funky Loft :)

L train central ave station is only 5 mins walk distance.Commute is convenience,30 mins can arrive Manhattan. Also can take lyft abt 15-17usd to battery park.   Comments: Hi future travelers! When you are out looking for the best Airbnb to stay in at Brooklyn this is definitely the place to be, so look no further and just BOOK IT! Why? This was my first time booking an Airbnb and I am definitely ruined for life when looking for my next Airbnb haha because I can not even imagine finding a better Airbnb than this one that I have stayed in! Location: The location is quite central and easy to reach. There are several public transportation options like the Subway J line and M line- I think the M line (stop Central Av) was definitely the closest. Just a few minutes walking from the station to the loft. There are plenty of options for food and grocery stores in walking distance from the loft. Check in + Hosts: The check-in was very smoothly and Marcella explained everything in full, giving me the grand tour of the loft, explaining everything well and showing me the big book of information. This book has all the essential information about the loft (address, entrance code- currently the loft works with a code and not with keys) and other important information. Also you can find great hotspot and restaurant reviews, where to go to for medical assistance if needed, how to get around in Brooklyn etc. It is a very well organised book full of information. If you have any other questions both Marcella and Maya are there to help you. I have had the pleasure to meet them both and they are just cool chicks who are super kind and will do their best to make you feel at home. The loft: The loft has 3 rooms that are available for guests. I have stayed in the 'single room' - a very pretty decorated room with colored skylights and a 1 pers. bed. The bed was lifted so you could put your suitcases under the bed if needed, there was a mirror, perfect to do your hair + make up, a heater (as is in all the rooms as I understood) and a decorative small table and chair. When I read previous reviews I read that the room was 'quite small' - but I was actually surprised by the size and it was bigger than I thought. Yes, it is not the big or biggest room in the loft but when you are traveling solo it is more than enough. You are out most of the days anyways and if you want to hang in a 'bigger space' just enjoy the swing or very comfy couch. Oh, and the bed in the room was very comfy as well, the bedding was super clean and the room was very clean when I arrived too. Cool features: It is perfect to take tons of pictures. The swing is a big eye catcher but also the cool colored kitchen with blue cabinets (at the time I'm writing this, not sure it will change in the future) the big red coca cola fridge and even a piano. The loft is so creatively decorated and is just a fun place to be where you immediately will feel at home. Other things worth mentioning + overall opinion. The bathroom is being kept very clean too and the kitschy wallpaper and design is just fun. Currently, there is a breakfast being served between 7 AM - 11 AM. As they mention themselves it is 'pretty basic' but in all honesty, Airbnb hosts don't even have to provide you with anything so this is just a cool extra. When I was staying there, there were 2 options of cereal (jummy!) and oats to make oatmeal (if I remember correctly). It is nice that when you wake up you can have a nice bowl of cereal with your cup of tea (tea is also offered for guests so you can make your own cup in the morning to enjoy while swinging on the swing or relaxing on the couch :)) I loved the loft. It was a very nice experience and both hosts were super kind. It is everything I expected and more and I will definitely book the loft again if I have the chance in the future. Also, maybe important for those that want to know: The WiFi works super fast and perefctly in each part of the loft. So when it is rainy and you want to Netflix that is definitely not a problem. Again, just book it! Just do it! You won't regret it!
