Comments: Great place, comfortable, private. Only problem was that the window in the bathroom was open, with a clear view to the apartments across the street.

Comments: I loved Joe's place , he was a great host ! He communicated to me very well, and made my stay very well, he's honestly one of the best Airbnb host ... this is refreshing booking him especially after recently having a bad experience from somewhere else, but he made my stay well worth the while ! I would definitely recommend him and use him again

Comments: Joes place the ocean blue room is amazing. Its super clean..bathroom kitchen all of it. The host is accommodating and provides everything you need. 3 blocks from public transportation to manhattan. Definitely a value stay. Just make sure you contact joel in advance to make arrangements. Our communication was a bit slow times. Other than that this room is perfect.

Comments: Joe's place is at a convenient location and very comfortable. Thank you so much for being a nice and sweet host.

Reviewer: Moses
Comments: Joe is one of the nicest people I've ever met. The room itself is pretty small (not much space besides the two twin beds and the closet), but Joe gave us use of his full house, his kitchen, bathroom (though there's only one, which can cause a small line if everyone needs it) and living room and really anything we asked. When we needed to stay an extra day, he let us, and when we needed to stay an extra week, he found us another place and hooked us up with a deal. He's just a fantastic guy, and I absolutely promise that you will not regret staying here.

Comments: Joe is a really nice guy and help me a lot! He can also rent bike to guest in Manhattan, but it's a pity for me because of raining.

Comments: Good but maybe causes confusing due to incorrect information.

Reviewer: Perry
Comments: Room as described in a safe, convenient and friendly neighbourhood. Joe is a super friendly host who goes out of his way to make you comfortable, which includes letting me wait around the house for my night flight. Thank you!
-
Reviewer: Joseph
Comments: I picked this place for a simple stay ahead of a morning flight. The room itself was ok, but there were issues checking in (not helped by a slightly confusing house guide that left it ambiguous on which entrance to go through) and when the instructions on entering the property didn't work the host was uncontactable. The other guests staying there were noisy and inconsiderate, and the communal areas untidy. Would not stay there again.

Comments: Joe's place is great. He earned the reputation that he's got.
-
Reviewer: Sam
Comments: The biggest problem I had was that we were stuck outside of the home for 10 minutes because we were provided with the wrong access code. The host provided us with the correct one but by then we were late for our concert. We were also given the wrong address for our room and when I noticed it did not match the pictures nothing was done to resolve the issue until we were already asleep that night. It sounds like it was an honest mistake on the host's pet but it made our stay less enjoyable. However, the home we had access to was reasonably clean and quiet and a good value so overall it was not a terrible experience.

Comments: Joe's house is clean and comfortable, and Joe went out of his way to make sure my stay was good. It was a short walk from all the stores, public transportation and my office, so it was very convenient. Room A/C made it comfortable despite summer heat. I would recommend this place to stay for one or two people. Inside was nice and clean.

Comments: Joe place was very lovely, quiet and clean. I would definitely stay there again or recommend it.

Reviewer: Peter
Comments: The good: Close proximity to subway (M, R lines, and E late at night) and to eating places/watering holes, including the cluster of bars and restaurants by the intersection of Austin St. and 70th Road in Forest Hills. Safe, albeit commercial neighborhood (good depending on what you're looking for, good access to shopping since the Queens Center mall and Duane Reade is right there). Easy to come and go at any hour. Host is flexible. Parking available. The less good: Affordable but very spartan. Bathroom could definitely be cleaner. Bedroom door can be bolted from inside, but no way to lock when you leave.

Comments: I have never had chance to meet Joe but the stay was great. Flexible with parking and check-in. I would repeat this place again.
-
Reviewer: Michael
Comments: The place is very convenient to the subway station. The neighborhood seemed safe. There was parking for one vehicle outside the garage. Otherwise, street parking seemed reasonable for New York standards. Check in was easy as the host provided detailed instructions. Had a hard time getting a hold of the host by phone/text and app when I had some questions. You get what you pay for. A/C was right beside the bed which was nice. Bathroom is shared with other guests but that wasn't a problem for us at all. Good value overall.

Reviewer: Philip
Comments: Really nice place and it turned out very suitable, but I didn't hear anything back about the place until very last minute dispite many many emails. It was honestly very disconcerting. To the hosts benefit, he seems very hard working and the place he offers is very nice and in a good location but I almost counted it out until I got the directions as I was on my way to NYC. I would hesitantly reccomend staying here if you are solo or a couple but if I had kids it would be a hard no. Way too much uncertainty.

Comments: Joe's place was as advertised. A great deal for the money and a lovely neighborhood. Not only was Joe a great host, the place was clean and well maintained. The only issue I had was an initial communication hookup when I wasnt being able to reach Joe. Everything else was perfect however.

Comments: Love the location ! Secure, parking available love that! When you can't even find a parking in a city like ny! Bathroom no best.. but the bed sheets were very clean also the house! For the price not bad!
-
Reviewer: Ting-Fen
Comments: I didn't receive the instruction, so it took some time to enter the house. Joe was not picking up the phone and answering the ring bell. I sent airbnb message to find out that his friend took care of the house. The room is just like the picture, but the problem is I didn't get a clean towel. The location is pretty good since it's close to the metro station.

Comments: We had a nice stay at Joe's home. He was very accommodating when we arrived our first night at 11:30pm - our room was ready for us, and he saved us a space to park in his driveway. As well, his home is near many markets, restaurants, and drug stores and very walkable to the Billie Jean King Tennis Center, the reason for our visit.

Reviewer: Diana Alis
Comments: I really liked my stay in Joe's apartment. If you are looking for a place where you sleep at night, wake up in the morning and head out to explore the city and come back late in the afternoon to go to sleep again, this is the perfect place for you. The thing that I liked the most is the closeness to the subway (63 Rego Park subway station - make sure to exit at 64 st) and the shopping area in Rego Park (you can find Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory, TjMaxx and Century21) and at a subway stop away (Woodheaven Blvd) you can find the Queens Mall. The location 30 minutes away from Manhattan.

Comments: Safe environment quiet place
-
Reviewer: George
Comments: Overall it was a pretty decent place to stay. Close to a train station, which was convenient to get around the city. It was a little confusing to find the place because the address listed is the back side of the house and you must go to the other side around the block to get in. He tells this to the guests, but only at the time of check in when someone may already probably be there waiting. Also it was an instant booking which is helpful, but I could not get a hold of the host and did not hear from him until check in time.

Comments: My son and I stayed at Joe's. He was friendly and helpful. 5 min. walk to the R train and a 30-40 min ride into Manhattan. We also came from JFK a 45-60 min. ride on the airtrain(extra cost) and R train. When we left we used the Q60bus ( since the R doesn't run super early). Still took around an hour total.

Comments: Great location, especially if you just need a place to crash like we did. Pretty much bare bones so it worked for us but if you need to cook, etc. might not be the place for you. We liked that it was so close to the subway and we could park for free (and safely) whenever we needed. Joe is wonderful and very responsive and helpful!

Comments: Communication needs improvement
-
Reviewer: Christopher
Comments: Good if you need a place to crash after or before a flight - since very easy access via public transport to both JFK & LaGuadia. The place—especially the bathroom—could & should be cleaner. The WiFi didn’t work well, and the tv didn’t connect to the internet so there was no Netflix as advertised. Overall good value, given the price of lodging in NYC, but just recognize that it’s pretty bare bones accommodation. Some good places to eat nearby.

Comments: Host was a no-show, no entrance information was provided, no messages or calls ever answered. I missed my flight, booked this instant book listing at 8pm and arrived at 11pm. I asked for the entrance information as soon as I booked and let him know what time I would be arriving, but never heard back. I walked 4 blocks uphill from the subway to stand outside in the cold at 11pm, this was a terrible experience. Thankfully my previous air bnb host was amazing and saved me. 5 stars to Varos in Long Island City!

Comments: Overall a great experience for me and my traveling companion! Joe was a nice and easy host, contact was at a minimum, but we knew he was available if we needed him. The ideal host shouldn’t need a lot of contact, in our opinion. The AirBnB had a great location and the space was perfect for getting some sleep and catching a shower at the end of each day. It could have been a little cleaner, it it was minor things like hair and dust on the floors. ALSO, we would recommend that you verify the passcode before your arrival. We were sent the wrong one, but fortunately Joe answered our first phone call and gave us the correct one (but you might not be so lucky, so check beforehand, haha)! We give this AirBnB 4.5/5 stars! The improvements that could be made are minor and we would not have a problem returning in the future.

Comments: As visitors from out of state, visiting family in a nearby hospital, Joe’s place is a nice quiet place to rest up. It is spacious and clean. He has a washer and dryer to wash clothes, such a plus!! And we were able to use his driveway instead of hard to find on-street parking. Amazing host and amazing hospitality! He gets 5 stars from us! Incredibly better than staying at a hotel. Thank you Joe for everything!
