  Comments: An excellent little flat- very comfortable feel. It was great to come 'home too'. Paul's place has understated heritage appeal. The scale and function of the apartment has changed little since its (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s(?) construction. But the fittings and appliances are all 21st Century. So visitors attain comfort by walking through the door at the same time as experiencing a sense of the past. This is an experience that should be cultivated.

It was perfect for us to use as a base to explore the area, and to jump on a ferry for trips to the city, the zoo and more. Our bed was very comfy and - despite being in the heart of Manly - we slept without an issue. Our kids (8 and 11) were happy to share the other bed and had great sleeps too. Thanks Paul for the prompt communications and the lovely little place.

  Comments: Great location and such a cozy place! Paul is a very helpful host and responded all questions immediately. A note to people who would stay there on a Saturday night: be extra careful parking along the street as the place is very close to a popular bar and the Manly wharf. Someone used a marker (thank god not a permanent marker) to sign a signature on my white car and now I have to send the car to polish to be able to get that off completely. There is a public car park next to the place offering overnight parking.

  Comments: I travelled from Brisbane to Sydney for a function in Manly and the location of Paul's place was fantastic. I was able to easily manage my luggage from the Manly ferry to the accommodation. Clean, neat, and all that was required.

  Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Paul's place. It's within easy walking distance of The Corso, the beach and the ferry. The house is lovely and open with lots of natural light. The beds are comfortable, we got a great nights sleep! The kitchen is old but has everything you need. Our nearly 2 year old is pretty busy and was interested in everything at her eye level, we brought some of our own toys and the tv was great for distraction! There are some great playgrounds nearby and the beach is great for the little ones. Paul is very easy to communicate with and replies quickly with any questions. Would recommend to couples or small families with slightly older children than ours.

Both beds were comfortable and there was an abundance of bed linen and blankets. Communication with Paul was prompt and the possession of the unit key was easy. Apartment complex was quiet and street was reasonably quiet at night. We really enjoyed our stay here. Just be aware of the spring loaded bathroom window, it tried to take my finger! Apartment came with all the basics (sheets, towels, parking permit, shampoo, tea) and it’s a short walk to the nearest supermarket, transport, beach, bars, takeaways etc. Apartment has two main bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room but also a little sunroom for extra space so it has a lovely feel to it. We very much enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again. Thank you Paul.

Probably better suited to families with kids older than our 1 and 2.5 due to the stairs but this didn't take away from our trip or the apartment at all.

  Comments: Paul was a great host. Great communication. The unit was ideally located close to wharf and beach. We travelled with 2 small kids. No mention of the flat being on the 2nd floor. A bit tricky with the kids getting up and down. The apartment was cosy and well suited to small kids to crawl around. However a bit dusty on the floors and carpets for the baby who was crawling all over the place. If it's a pad near the wharf of manly you are after this is it.

  Comments: We originally booked two nights to stay. Unfortunately, the first night we stayed we killed several cockroaches inside the apartment. We killed a large one in the room between the two bedrooms, several small/baby ones in the kitchen, including in the utensil drawer, on the floor, and on the ceiling. Also, a medium sized cockroach got away inside the kitchen drawers. We all were very uncomfortable sleeping there that night. We had to find other accommodations for the next night. We communicated with the owner about the cockroach issue but he says it’s not his fault bugs come in from the outside. He also stated that he had pest control come a week ago. Unfortunately, that didn’t seem to do much for his apartment’s cleanliness, and then became our problem. We were not refunded any amount upon first reaching out to the owner and then also reaching out to Airbnb. My advice is take more pictures than I did. My initial thoughts when seeing a cockroach in the apartment was to kill it, in hindsight I should have taken pictures each time before killing them.

Communication was prompt. Customers do need to be warned, however, that there is a MAJOR construction site next door, and the noise does severely impact the experience.

  Comments: It is an old building with three flights of stairs to the (Website hidden by Airbnb) is difficult although Paul does provide a street parking permit for when you get a spot. The apartment is old but pleasant. Sleeping was very hot and uncomfortable because of the time of year with no air conditioning or fans. Location is excellent only a short walk to the ferry terminal, beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Unfortunately he kept quiet about the fact that earth moving works were performed right in front our window Mon-Fri 7:30am4:00pm. The house was shaking and you could not understand your own words. He gave us one night free, but we would have appreciated honesty instead. It was not a relaxing stay.

  Comments: The Magical Manly Earthquake Experience. We woke each morning in our comfortable bed singing lines from classic tunes like "Shake, rattle and roll" or "I feel the earth move under my feet". If you like an early start, vibrating beds, mirrors, windows, loud noise and a front row seat to view earthmoving and construction machines in action then this is the place for you! Each morning the show begins at 7AM right outside your kitchen and bathroom windows and continues until 4PM. You will see the amazing performance up close. A large sandpit next door with a huge grey silo in the middle vibrating and spewing out cement dust like a beautiful smoke machine. Enjoy watching the excavators, cement trucks and hard hat wearing performers as they do their thing. As you are so close to the action, the sound quality is excellent - it is very loud. You'll need to book soon as work has already started and this experience may only last until 2020. The manager/owner of the apartment did not warn us about this exciting daily event happening next door. As you can imagine it was a wonderful surprise for our tired family and really lifted our spirits after a long flight, taxi and ferry ride! On a serious note, you will want to get out of the apartment early each day and start exploring the beautiful area of Manly and other parts of Sydney. It was a real bonus to return each evening to find our apartment building was still standing, had stopped vibrating and the noise had ended. If you are still reading and are seriously considering staying at this place then there's something wrong with you but please, read on. The sheets and towels seem clean but the cleaners would benefit from attending vacuum, sweeping and dusting courses. The key pickup location is not secure. The apartment was older but spacious with high ceilings and a few cracks in the walls (not sure if this was caused by the current earth works/construction work). Good times and memories that will last forever!

Be aware they they are building a new apartment complex next door so there will be some construction noise in the morning. I’m an early riser so that was fine but for others it could be an annoyance if you didn’t know. Will definitely stay again.

While it is an older style apartment it very spacious, comfortable and has all the facilities you will need for a short or even long term stay. We've stayed in a few air bnb apartments in Europe and this one is certainly up to standard. Recommended!

Location was perfect, right in the centre of the high street, clean, tidy and the beds were very comfy.   Comments: The photos of Paul's place don't do it justice. It's bigger and nicer than it looks and right in the heart of Manly (with beach views from the kitchen). We couldn't fault a single thing. Just a heads up, parking can be tricky but Paul provides his permit and it is on the third floor which wasn't a problem for us or our three young kids but may be if you are injured or have mobility issues. We loved our stay though.

  Comments: We stayed at Paul’s place in Manly for three nights. It’s a comfortable, clean two bed apartment with pretty much all the amenities you’d need. The location was perfect - very close to shops, restaurants, the Wharf (where you can catch the ferry to the city) and a short walk to the beach. The street the apartment is on was quiet. There is major building works going on next door but it was on the side of the bathroom and kitchen so didn’t bother us too much. Parking on the street can be a bit tricky and as it’s a one way street you can find yourself going round in circles looking for a space. Paul was quick to respond to all my messages. I was hoping for a bit more flexibility with checking in and out times as we arrived very early to Sydney and had to leave late but there was no negotiating on this. Luckily we had friends in the city who helped us out on both days. Overall we had a pleasant stay. I would recommend the apartment if you want to stay in a laid back area of Sydney, close to a beach but still with good transportation into the city.

The place is a part of our good memories in Manly trip, we definitely come to stay again.   Comments: A charming flat in an amazing location in Manly. Had everything we needed for our stay, travelling with 2 children aged 7 and 3. A great space to base ourselves for a few days, with access to several beaches within a very short walk which was ideal and close to shops and restaurants. Yet still in a quiet street so no nighttime disturbances. Would love to stay again when next visiting Oz. Thanks Paul for being a great host.
