  Comments: I went to Oahu on a girls trip with 8 of my friends for my birthday. We wanted to find a place that was close enough to Waikiki to party in the bars, but easy access to the highways to explore the island and not have to pay for hotel parking overnight. This place met all of our wishes. There is plenty of street parking and the neighborhood feels safe enough. It's not the fanciest neighborhood, but we were very comfortable and felt like locals. The house was very clean and decorated well. The beds were comfortable, but more on the firm side, FYI. The kitchen had all the necessary tools and every appliance worked well. The bathroom was clean and the shower had strong water pressure. There is a washer and dryer that works well, but we only used it once since Marylu had left plenty of linens and towels for us. There is a large Safeway grocery store about a mile away, and a liquor store and gas station just a couple blocks down the street. Marylu was very quick to respond to my emails and was very accommodating even though we didn't need anything else or have any complaints. We had an amazing time and a big reason was this cottage. If I ever visit Honolulu again, I would definitely stay here again!

  Comments: Great house! It's about a 20-25 min walk to Waikiki Beach. Very well stocked with dishes, washer & dryer, etc. Lots of places to sleep and extra sofas. We fit 8 people in here comfortably with shared beds. Definitely recommended.

  Comments: Marylu and her cottage were fantastic. Exactly what we needed for our trip. Never using airbnd before she was great. Quick responses, and helpful. The place was cute and a 15 min walk to the beach, not much further to downtown Waikiki. All the food places around it were recommended to us by locals. Nice neighborhood also.

  Comments: I never met Marilu, but she was very kind and nice and very service minded via mail and text messages. The house was great for us, five people. There is just three bedrooms so if your are ten people it would be tight. But the washing machine and the kitchen was perfect and the small garden. . The cleaning was ok, but some dust here and there. The neighbour hood is so good, eat at Diamonnd head grill and est an acai bowl at Bogarts café for vreakfast. Its so good!

  Comments: Overall we had a very good experience. The cottage is your typical island style design and layout. It was clean, had all of the necessities and easy to find street parking. Location is great, close to Waikiki, diamond head, grocery store and shops. However, Campbell Avenue is a busy street and road noise can be pretty loud. Buses start early in the morning. The third bedroom is small compared to the other two however, you are only going to use it to sleep, you're in Hawaii after all. We had 3 couples in the place and never felt cramped. The kitchen came in handy as did the BBQ. All of us agreed we would certainly stay here again and Marylu was great to work with. She was prompt with responding to inquiries.

  Comments: The cottage is lovely. It is a great place for a family or a group of friends. We were delighted to find all kind of treats in the kitchen and all needed for cooking. The sofas are comfortable and the hard wood floors beautiful. The walk to the beach is right past the zoo!

  Comments: The house was perfect! We fit a group of seven comfortably when we were in town for a friend's wedding. The well-supplied kitchen meant we could save money by preparing several meals at the house. But the house is also close to the beach (~20 min. walk) and several good places to eat, including the delicious Side Street Inn. I loved reading and barbecuing in the yard. There were plenty of towels and beach supplies for everyone. Besides the bathroom being a bit busy with seven people, it was very clean and the shower pressure and temperature level were great. The welcome package was a nice touch. As others have mentioned, the only issue we had was with noise. There's not much sound insulation between the house and the street or the neighboring houses. I would suggest bringing earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Also, the neighbors stopped by one night to ask that we keep the conversation down after 10 so that's good to keep in mind in advance. Also, a lot of the outlets are two-prong. It could be useful to bring a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter. We'd all definitely stay again - thanks so much!

  Comments: The house was amazing! Clean, spacious, and comfortable. Marylu was very accommodating and flexible. The yard was very nice to hang out in, and the location was excellent, much better than Waikiki. Beautiful view of Diamond Head. Beach supplies were even provided. We had a large group and we all fit in comfortably, plenty of bedding, blankets and pillows. Would highly recommend!

A positive is access to Waikiki, Diamond head, Kahala, and H1 is very nice. The cost performance is also good. A negative is road noise, but this house is recommended for a lengthier stay and for who is not so nervous.

  Comments: The house was perfect for everything we needed. Close enough to walk to the beach and Waikiki, but far enough away to avoid all the hustle & bustle of the busy tourist area. Leonard's Malasadas, Zippy's, and Safeway are all in the neighborhood. The house is relatively close to the neighbors, and your windows will be open because of the heat so you have to be conscious to not be too loud at night. We had a little trouble getting a hold of Marylu at first, but that was due to her being out of the country. She was still able to connect with us to make sure we had the necessary check-in information. Overall, my friends and I had a great stay and I can't wait to come back!

  Comments: We had an absolutely great stay at Marylu's cottage. It was so 'old Hawaii'...just what we love. The place is well-equipped with tons of towels, comfy beds and a fully-stocked kitchen...perfect for the omelets I made my family every morning. The street traffic can be a little loud, but no worries since the place is so comfortable. Oh, and the mango tree outside provided the perfect sweet treat! All in all, a wonderful stay. Thanks!

  Comments: Host: Marylu made this trip easy through her ease of communication leading to the trip and during. If I had any questions Marylu would respond quickly. She also made the check in and check out process easy. Rental: The location of the house is ideal for a visit to Honolulu. It is literally 8-10 mins away from everything you need; Waikiki beach, restaurants, Safeway, Starbucks and bars. We would take a cab to most of these places and the fare was always less than $10. the house has many beds. I think it can fit up to a group of 10 people. There is no A/C but the windows and ceiling fans through out made the house cooler. Marylu also provided extra towels and bed sheets which were very helpful. We were unable to get the washer machine to work and had to go to the laundry mat near by. Instructions on the machine would have helped. Also there is no microwave only a stove, coffee maker, fridge and dishwasher. A microwave would have definitely been used and appreciated. Overall the experience was great and I would definitely stay at Marylu's house again.

  Comments: 3回目のﾊﾜｲで､ﾎﾃﾙ滞在に飽きだしていたのでこちらの宿を借りましたが､とても良かったです｡ 目の前の通りは意外と車が通り､音はそれなりに気になりましたが､60歳の父は､自然の風が適度に入ってくるﾘﾋﾞﾝｸﾞで気持ち良さそうに昼寝していましたし､浮輪やｼｭﾉｰｹﾙやﾎﾞﾃﾞｨｰﾎﾞｰﾄﾞなども借りれて､息子もとても喜んでいました｡ 徒歩5分位歩くと､有名なｶﾌｪやﾊﾝﾊﾞｰｶﾞｰｼｮｯﾌﾟ､軽食を買えるお店もあります｡また､近隣の家々も､ｵｰﾙﾄﾞﾊﾜｲ的な素敵な家が多く､歩いていてとても楽しかったです｡ 海までは､子連れだと少し距離を感じたので､自転車か車があったらﾍﾞｽﾄかもしれません｡

  Comments: This cute house was great for our group of 6! It had three bedrooms with about five beds and three couches that could also be used as beds. All in all, plenty of space! She was very responsive and the key exchange was a breeze. In addition, there were a lot of body boards and shower and beach towels that we used during our stay. Finally, the house was just a 12-15 min walk to the beach. Would stay again in the future!

  Comments: We did not meet Marylu in person, but she responded to texts very quickly. The house was just what we had expected-- informal, island style bungalow, and the location was perfect for us. The house had everything we needed for our stay, from a reasonably outfitted kitchen to beach gear. Sleeping accommodations were adequate for our large, extended family and we managed with the single bathroom. The washer and dryer were much appreciated.

  Comments: The house is well located, between Diamond Head crater and Kapiolani park. The park and beach were close enough to walk several times, and there are good inexpensive places to eat a few blocks away. The night can be noisy, so bring earplugs if that bothers you, and the mornings can be bright, so bring a mask if that bothers you. We slept our family of seven easily, and cooked a lot while there with the available cookware.

Right on Campbell and in the middle and short walk to the best Acai bowl place on the island, Diamond Head Cove Health Bar on Monsarrat or if you walked the other direction you could find yourself on Kapahulu where theres a Safeway and many other stores!

  Comments: Actually this lovely home is great and our all the members, 8 adults are very satisfied and enjoyed the stay. Before we arrived, we just a little bit worried about the size of house but it was spacious enough. It is located only 10 minutes walking distance from the Waikiki beach. There are the bunch of towels and surf boards and we went to beach everyday.

  Comments: Marylu's cottage is exactly as described. She is so welcoming and helped with check-in and some wifi issues. She even provided some delicious welcome favors to begin our stay ( the chocolates and coffee were amazing). The home is right on the busy street of Campbell and since there isn't any a/c, windows must be open for fresh air. There is a lot of street noise, but It is usually noisy anywhere in the hotel zones. Everything was walking distance Rainbow drive in, several stores and restaurants. We would park at the Honolulu Zoo and walk over to the beach from there every day. Wifi is available for those who need it. Make sure to go to Sweet E's for the best brunch as its close by to the home as well.

What takes a bit of getting use to is the noise. Because there is no centralized air, most of the windows are open to circulate the air, which also brings in the noise from the busy street.

  Comments: The house is well located and offers everything you need for a stay with a group. The only things that you should be prepared of is that the third room is only comfy for 1 person and that the street is very noise since thats a bus route. But if you have earplugs you can sleep there. Mahalo Marylu for everything :)

  Comments: The house may be outdated and on a busy street but the location is ideal. Close to Waikiki Beach, freeway and groceries like Safeway and Walmart. If you plan on doing some cooking, check what's in the cupboards and refrigerator first because they're well stacked with spices and other items that are useful. The washer and dryer came in handy too.
