  Comments: We had a very nice stay at this appartement and absolutely loved it! It's fully renovated, very cosy, and clean, of course there is everything we needed. The area of Lapa has a lot of charm, also it's easy to get to the metro and the city centre on foot. We arrived at late night but João was waiting for us near the metro station and welcoming us! We highly recommend this appartement to everybody and hope we come back one day. Muito obrigada!

  Comments: We loved everything about our stay at João's place. It is a welcoming and relaxing space with everything you might need. The neighborhood is within easy walking distance of the city center, nestled in a quiet little street at the top of a hill. João's personal recommendations came in quite handy a few times and we very much appreciated his warm and enthusiastic welcome. He was communicative and made himself available in case we needed anything. Highly recommended! We can't wait to go back to Porto and stay at João's place again!

  Comments: Je recommande sans hésitation ! L'appartement est vraiment parfait et fonctionnel. L'emplacement et le quartier sont très typique et dépaysant tout en étant très proche du centre-ville (10 minutes à pied). Il est également proche de plusieurs supermarchés. Par ailleurs, l'appartement est décoré avec énormément de goût et l'équipement mis à disposition est de qualité. Tout est fournis pour passer des super vacances! Nous avons été accueilli par Joao, il a vraiment pris le temps pour nous et nous a donner pleins de conseils sur la vie à Porto. Verdict : c'est un appartement parfait à reserver sans attendre!

  Comments: Die Wohnung hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen, wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war Super, Joao ist stets hilfsbereit und steht mit Tips zur Stadt zur Seite. Die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet und sehr sauber, die Angaben der Beschreibung stimmen absolut überein. Die Lage der Wohnung ist ruhig und sicher, die Altstadt ist gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wir empfehlen die Wohnung definitiv weiter.

  Comments: The apartment is beautiful, clean, and very conveniently located about 15 minutes on foot from Aliados, where a number of free walking tours start. The apartment is a very short walk to the Lapa metro station, which is about 30 minutes away from the airport, though note that the airport metro is quite infrequent and can get very full, so factor in that wait time. There are plenty of coffee shops, a bakery, and restaurants around to have a nice breakfast before you go out for a day of sight-seeing. And if you're late risers like us, you can't beat the €4.50 fixed price lunch you can get, for instance, at the restaurants on Rua do Paraiso nearby. Also, if you're feeling like a glass of wine or port or a cup of tea after a long day of walking and sight-seeing, we highly recommend a place called BUuh!, at Praça da República 164 (on the way home from city centre). Amazingly cozy atmosphere, with beautiful mid-20th century antique furniture, playing 60s and 70s rock music, and a wide selection of teas and pastries. Our host, João, was very nice and communicative. Our flight landed late on Friday and he patiently waited for us to get to the flat and pick up our keys, with delicious natas and a lot of suggestions for sightseeing.

  Comments: The aparment is approximately 20-25 minutes walk away from the river and the city center. The connection to the public transportation is very good, the next two metro stations can be reached in 5 to 10 minutes walk. The apartment is bigger than expected from the pictures, and due to the thick stone walls it's always cool inside. However, for us it got a little too cold during the nights sometimes. João was a great host and very flexible with the check-inn. He devoted some time to show us the most important attractions on a map and gave a lot of good recommendations for typical Portuguese food. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

Depois de termos combinado os detalhes da nossa estadia (check-out, etc.), o João ainda teve tempo para nos dar informações úteis para os próximos dias. Explicou-nos qual a melhor cave de Vinho do Porto, os pontos mais interessantes da cidade, etc. Mesmo já conhecendo a cidade do Porto, aprendemos detalhes importantes e viemos a conhecer lugares que desconhecíamos anteriormente. Muito obrigado, João! O apartamento fica perto da estação Faria Guimarães. Mesmo havendo estações menos distantes, vale a pena ter em conta o aviso do João para sair em Faria Guimarães. :D Apesar de o apartamento não ficar muito longe do centro, é importante notar que demora mais ou menos 15 minutos para chegar a pé à Avenida dos Aliados e a outros sítios importantes da cidade. O apartamento é bastante giro e bem organizado (com uma decoração muita moderna). Não temos queixa de nada. Pois, encontrámos tudo aquilo que necessitávamos. Fica na zona histórica do bairro da Lapa que é uma zona muito tranquila e bonita com cafés e restaurantes tradicionais. Aconselhámos escolher este apartamento para uma estadia no Porto!

  Comments: L'appartement est fidèle aux photos : sublime ! Il est situé dans une petite rue pavée, avec des stationnements tout proche et un magasin d'alimentation à 500m. Le logement est propre, et frais (en été c'est important), spacieux étau calme! Il faut par contre compter 20 min pour se rendre au cais de ribeira et plus de 30 au retour (car ca grimpe pas mal !) Joao nous a également très bien accueilli, nous a donné pleins d'informations et d'adresses ou manger. Séjour parfait a Porto !

  Comments: Although we arrived half an hour late, João was waiting for us with a smile in the apartment. He welcomed us with two tasty "Pasteis de nata" and showed us the apartment, before giving us plenty of useful advice about the city, good restaurants, bakeries, cultural places and some authentic insider tips. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and fresh, although we could feel some humidity. The neighbourhood was very quiet and at night we could truly rest without any noise. The apartment is not far from the centre, from two metro stations and from a bakery, a supermarket and other commodities. We strongly recommend João and his accomodation!

  Comments: Appartement très bien situé dans le quartier de Lapa à 10 minutes à pied du centre de Porto. Station de métro à proximité. Joao est convivial et accueillant, il parle un anglais parfait se se tient à la disposition de ses hôtes. Nous avons bcp apprécié qu'il prenne de nos nouvelles en cours de séjour pour s'assurer que tout se passait bien. Le logement est décoré avec goût, confortable et très propre. S'il devait y avoir une seule (petite) critique, c'est le manque d'isolation avec l'appartement du dessus... nous avons parfois été génés par le bruit des occupants peu discrets (français ) Nous recommandons vivement ce logement et cet hôte pour un week-end à Porto !

  Comments: Nous n'avons pas rencontré João, mais il était parfaitement réactif par message, et son collègue Pedro nous a accueilli et nous a bien renseigné sur la ville ! L'appartement est parfaitement situé, dans une rue calme et pittoresque ! La station de métro la plus proche n'est qu'à 3 min à pied et le centre historique est accessible à pied en moins de 10 min. Nous avons passé une petite semaine dans cet appartement, parfaitement équipé, un vrai bonheur ! C'est un petit havre de paix dans cette jolie ville !

  Comments: El apartamento está muy bien: tiene mucho encanto, 2 baños (1 aseo y otro con ducha muy cómoda). La cocina está completamente equipada y hay wifi. No vi lavadora, pero supongo que no es importante para una estancia corta. También tiene un patio interior con mesita y taburetes, que va bien para los fumadores. Está muy cerca de Trindade, la estación de metro que une todas las líneas. Además en Trindade hay taquillas para dejar las maletas a muy buen precio si se llega con antelación a la entrada al apartamento o si el vuelo de regreso es muy tarde (4,50€ por 12 horas). Cerca del apartamento hay un supermercado que tiene de todo y farmacia y café para desayunar (aunque el piso ya está equipado con máquina de café para los más necesitados). João nos recibió puntual con una sorpresita y nos hizo recomendaciones de sitios que ver. Durante la estancia también nos contactó para saber si todo iba bien. Le preguntamos recomendaciones y estuvo atento, respondiendo casi al instante. 10 para João! ;) Muchas gracias! PD: hay toallas, sábanas, cualquier cosa que no es necesario llevar en la maleta para 3 días...

  Comments: Suberbe appartement sur les hauteures de Porto, dans les petites rues pavées. Joao a été un hôte parfait. He helped with the parking, suggested where there is free parking nearby. I've always been in touch.   Comments: Wir (m22, w23) verbrachten im September 5 Nächte im Made4U Gloría. Die Anreise vom Flughafen gestaltete sich mit den öffentlichen Verlehrsmitteln als günstige (2,50 € p.P.) und unkomplizierte Lösung. Der Fußweg von der nächstgrößten Station (Trindade) beträgt ca. 10 min. Als wir am Apartment ankamen, erwartete uns Joao bereits und erklärte uns alle relevanten Gegebenheiten äußerst freundlich. Darüber hinaus gab er uns erste Tipps zu Sehenswürdigkeiten und zur näheren Umgebung (Supermarkt etc.). Die Wohnung an sich ist komplett neu saniert und weist keine Gebrauchsspuren auf. Bei Ankunft war diese komplett gereinigt. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist äußerst umfangreich. Wir vermissten bei zweimaligem Kochen keinerlei Utensilien. Die unmittelbare Nachbarschaft bestand aus Wohngebäuden und war insgesamt sehr ruhig. Allerdings muss gesagt werden, dass die Decke der Wohnung nicht gut schallgedämmt ist, sodass jeder Schritt oben, unten zu hören ist. Uns störte dieser Umstand jedoch nur geringfügig. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dieser Unterkunft und können das Apartment wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

  Comments: Petit appartement bien situé, il est possible de se rendre à pied partout depuis Le studio. Dans une rue typique de Porto et très calme. Le seul point négatif est l'isolation car on entend très bien les voisins... João est très gentil et serviable. Il nous a donné de très bons conseils concernant la ville. Je recommande vivement cet appartement.

  Comments: When we arrived João was waiting for us and welcomed us with great enthusiasm. The apartment is great and just like described and pictures. It was very clean, the bed and the shower are great. Just down the street towards the city center there is a great little bakery called Celeste, it was cheap and they have a terrace in the back where we had breakfast every morning. The location is good, it's a close enough to the city center.

  Comments: It’s a beautiful flat with high ceilings and everything you need. Joao was really easy to communicate with and gave us lots of tips for the city. It’s a bit of a walk to the city centre but the location is still great. Our only complaint is that the flat is quite damp and because you can’t keep the windows open when you go out (it’s a ground floor flat) you can definitely smell the damp when you come back. I’m quite sensitive to damp & mold and got an allergic reaction from this. But apart from that the flat is very nice.

  Comments: Appartement magnifique avec une belle hauteur sous plafond et décoré avec goût.   Comments: Bel endroit, décoration cosy, spacieux, bien fourni, propre. Accueil très chaleureux avec beaucoup d'informations données, très prévenant. Les hics : - reste un peu excentré des quais et de l'hypercentre (20 bonnes minutes à pieds, avec bonne montée au retour) - surtout, appartement dont la température est gérée par domotique, avec impossibilité de contrôle par l'invité (un seul module de chauffage dans la chambre, qui illumine quand allumé la nuit et fait du bruit, pas de télécommande disponible, réglage de la température de façon automatique et non continue, ou choisie par le propriétaire à distance sans concertation). Donc lorsque nous sommes arrivés et que la température intérieure était de 17 degrés, nous avons dû appeler João (qui nous a accueilli mais n'est pas le propriétaire) pour qu'il demande au propriétaire d'allumer le chauffage, ce qui a mis du temps... Et celui ci s'allumait et s'éteignait par la suite de façon automatique... Bref, pas agréable de ne pas avoir le contrôle de la température de l'endroit que l'on loue... - les propriétaires sont venus dans l'appartement pendant que nous n'y étions pas sans nous prévenir (pour rebrancher le wifi que nous avions coupé et voir pour le chauffage), pas très agréable non plus... Bref, bel appartement mais séjour mitigé.

  Comments: João und sein Apartment haben meine Erwartungen übertroffen! Er ist flexibel, sympathisch und vor allem hilfsbereit. Schon vor Anreise wurden wir mit Infomaterial versorgt und auch während unseres Aufenthaltes bot er sich als direkter Ansprechpartner an. Die Wohnung ist perfekt gelegen in einer schönen Gegend und von ihr aus sind zu Fuß alle sehenswerten Viertel erreichbar. Auch einen Supermarkt gibt es direkt um die Ecke. Sonst hält sie genau das was sie schon auf den Bildern verspricht. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen und man kann sich wirklich wohlfühlen. Wir hatten auf jeden Fall eine tolle Zeit!

  Comments: Joao estuvo muy atento desde el momento de la reserva, mandando con antelación recomendaciones para llegar, sitios que visitar y en los que comer, que nos fueron de mucha utilidad.   Comments: Logement conforme à la description et aux photos, bien aménagé et propre. Joao est très accueillant et nous a spontanément transmis de nombreuses informations. L'appartement était un peu froid à notre arrivé mais avec le chauffage/climatisation, la chambre se réchauffe rapidement. L'appartement est un peu en dehors du centre mais est facilement atteignable à pieds en 10-15minutes et des arrêts de métro sont à proximité. Séjour agréable, nous recommandons fortement cet appartement, merci!

  Comments: Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in Porto, obwohl das Wetter im April nicht so mitgespielt hatte, wie erhofft. Joao hat uns sehr herzlich in der Unterkunft empfangen und uns mit vielen Tipps versorgt. Die Wohnung ist nicht weit vom Zentrum entfernt und hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Mit der Bahn kann man alles gut und auch günstig erreichen.

  Comments: Our stay in Porto would not have been the same if it weren't for Joao and this amazing place. Joao was there when we arrived which was awesome considering our email wasn't working properly. He was very attentive, showing us his recommendations for places to eat and shop and see. He helped us out with parking for the first night with or rental car and was quick to check in with us the day after check in to see how we were doing. He was genuine, professional and knowledgable about the area. He was very friendly and approachable which we love, especially travelling with a 6 month old. The place itself was very clean, well laid out, spacious and beautiful. The pictures truly don't do it enough justice. We enjoyed walking everywhere on our trip so location was perfect. It was close to many trendy places to eat and shop, about a 15-20 walk to the river. If we are lucky enough to come back to porto we will be reaching out to Joao again! Thank you so much for such a fabulous stay!

  Comments: Wir haben die Wohnung geliebt. Sie ist noch größer als sie auf den Fotos erscheint. Super hell, schön eingerichtet und stylisch. Innerhalb von 10 Minuten ist man zu Fuß in der Innenstadt und kann damit alles zu Fuß erreichen. Wenn abends doch Mal die Beine müde sind kostet ein Taxi oder Uber auch weniger als 5€. João war ein toller Gastgeber, der uns viele Tipps gegeben hat. Absolut empfehlenswert!

  Comments: Porto war unser erstes Ziel auf unserer Reise durch Portugal. Die Anbindung vom Flughafen zur Wohnung ist dank der Metro sehr gut. Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral. In der Nähe der Wohnung ist eine sehr leckere Bäckerei und ein gut ausgestatteter Supermarkt zu finden. João hat uns sehr freundlich in der Wohnung empfangen und erklärte uns alles sehr ausführlich. Er gab uns sehr gute Tipps und erklärte uns die Stadt anhand eines Stadtplans. Zur Begrüßung schenkte uns João die bekannten Pateis de Nata, welche man unbedingt probieren sollte. Wir würden jederzeit wieder bei João übernachten. Die Wohnung ist super modern und sehr schön eingerichtet.

  Comments: Cet appartement est vraiment agréable, bien décoré, dans un endroit très calme et typique : une petite ruelle pavée, habitée par de vrais locaux. Le quartier est à 10 minutes à pieds du centre, en hauteur de la ville, ce qui permet de profiter de la ville tout en logeant dans un quartier plus paisible et authentique. Les commerces à proximité sont fréquentés par les locaux, dont une excellente boulangerie située sur le chemin du centre-ville, parfait pour acheter le petit déjeuner en y allant. João est un hôte très accueillant qui a pris le temps de nous donner des conseils et nous a demandé deux fois si tout se passait bien pour nous pendant notre séjour de deux jours. Porto est une ville magnifique et ce logement est parfait pour la découvrir, je le recommande sans problème!

I feel like he goes above and beyond what is asked of him as a host as he waited for us to arrive (we were late because we got lost), gave us a tour, highlighted some main attractions, and welcomed us with traditional Portuguese pastries! He also made sure we were comfortable, especially since we are traveling with our 4 month old baby girl (we all shared the rather large bed and were quite fine). The apartment is close to all main attractions, all of which are within walking distance but far enough away that it’s fairly quiet at night. I definitely recommend his place!

The bedroom was a bit humid, but we heard the air conditioning can solve this problem. We also heard some noise (footsteps etc.) in the morning from the neighbors above our apartment.   Comments: Exactly as advertised! João is an wonderful host and was so super helpful. He met us right on the clock and spent a good amount of time telling us about Porto, nearby areas, eateries,etc. Yes, we also got the welcome with the Portuguese custard tarts, and they are actually some of the better ones we have had in Portugal. The bed was super comfortable and the size of the shower was awesome - so spacious! Loved the cute little street on which the place was located. The grocery store is nearby. Easy to get to and from the Ribeira area (aside from all the hills). The only 2 things that could’ve been better is the wifi in the bedroom and the noise above us - from about 11PM there is a lot of stomping and while we stayed here there was hammering and drilling for 2 mornings on the row - but obviously this may not be the case when you stay here. Seriously though, this place is really great overall, and if we ever return to Porto again we will 100% consider staying here again!

  Comments: The apartment was in a great location, on a very quiet residential street. Although the very occasional car came by, it was much more common to see people walking down the street. The neighbors were friendly when we ran into them on the street. It is worth a note that the neighbors upstairs have a small child who can be a bit noisy, but it wasn't an issue for us. The apartment was within walking distance of most things and we walked downtown, to the water and a variety of neighborhoods without issue. There are plenty of local shops, a grocery and restaurants nearby (~10 minute walk). João was a great host providing lots of local advice from places to eat to things to see. He spent time marking up a map for us with options. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay with João again.

  Comments: João’s place is amazing for the price! You can stroll straight into the centre of Porto and even to the waterfront if you wish; if not, it’s incredibly close to the nearest Metro. João himself was a great host, offering us advice and being incredibly welcoming. The apartment itself is beautiful, ideally located and the bed is very comfortable. The only issue was the shower, which didn’t drain very effectively, and had to be managed to prevent overflowing into the bathroom. However, this wasn’t big enough of an issue to negate all of the positives of our stay! We couldn’t recommend João’s place any more for a couple looking to explore Porto!
