  Comments: My partner Michele and I were thoroughly delighted with Alexandre's hospitality, generosity and love for his adopted city, Rio de Janeiro. We learned via the furnishings that he is originally a Mineiro. He helped us in simple and innumerable ways to make our stay easy, fruitful and bring Michele a newbie to Rio a sense of the soul of the city. The apartment was IDEAL for us. The location is central for walking, bus routes, a short distance from the Metro, or an ez spot to find cabs. It is nicely appointed. Has a lovely view. Comfy bed. A simple kitchen, which we used...and above all is in the center of Lapa, but high enough not to keep you 'in the bar' after you get home. Quiet, peaceful and safe. I look forward to my next trip in October to be able to return to Alexandre's lovely nest. Truly a great find in the middle of the city. Foi super gostoso.   Comments: Very clean and nice apartment right on Lapa, close to the subway and many downtown attractions. Alexandre and his son were very nice and attentive. I highly recommend you to stay here!   Comments: If we had a single word to describe my experience with Alexandre and his son, Rafael, I would say: EXTRAORDINARY! We think we met one of the friendliest and most helpful persons in my life. Alexandre told us all the do's and dont's in Rio, then constantly wrote us every day to ask about our trip and to give us tips and weather info (it can be tricky in Rio in November). He even wrote me a couple of days after we left to tell me the the translation of the word 'goat' in Portuguese, as we read that a nearby restaurant had a goat dish, but didn't know how to ask for it. Now about the (Website hidden by Airbnb) a pretty roomy studio, featuring even a hammock (no balcony though, but no need actually). It's freshly redone with all that one needs for a short stay. The Lapa area is highly attractive by night, featuring many bars, live music pubs and street bistros (but tourists should be a little cautious). The apartment is withing walking distance to most of them and Arco da Lapa and the Cathedral. The metro is also pretty close, I'd say 15 mins walking. All in all, a great experience for us and thumbs up for the host.

  Comments: My husband discovered Airbnb by chance when we were planning our first trip to South America and staying at Alexandre's was our first experience with the site. It took a long time to make a decision with all the choices available, and I am thrilled that I made the one I did. Alexandre not only met our expectations, but he surpassed them. He went above and beyond to be sure that we had the best stay possible. His apartment was lovely and the neighborhood was great, but it was really his kindness and generosity that made it such a wonderful experience. The apartment is exactly as pictured and we felt perfectly safe walking around the neighborhood at all times of day and night. There are many very good restaurants nearby, but it was also convenient to use transportation to visit other parts of the city. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!

  Comments: Alexandre is an incredibly amazing host. He helps you wherever and whenever he can. He is generous, warm-hearted, welcoming and he knows everything about Rio. In a few words: he is an outstanding person! Our stay in his little but pretty, clean and quiet apartment was perfect. The location is good, as you have the nightlife in front of you and the bus-stop, where you can find the buses to explore more of Rio's beauty, is very close to the apartment. As you will live on the 10th floor you won't hear a lot of noise. You can find grocery stores and lots of bars very close. Don't hesitate to book one of Alexandre's accommodations (he has more than one apartment in the same building). You won't regret it. We even extended our stay for almost a week. Mais uma vez: obrigada por tudo Alexandre e até um dia destes!!

  Comments: Meu marido e eu fomos muito bem recebidos pelo Alexandre, que nos deu orientação turística, informações precisas e importantes sobre transporte, segurança e outros detalhes. O bairro pode parecer inseguro no início, principalmente quando o comércio fecha, mas não é, nos sentimos bem tranquilos ao caminhar pela vizinhança, mas é claro que em qualquer lugar estamos sujeitos a uma situação imprevista, então é bom ficar alerta.   Comments: Alexandre was a really helpfull person and very friendly. He give us all the informations we needed for Rio. Additionally some maps, etc. Only the elevator is a bit old :) The apartment is simple but nice and really enough for 2 persons. The bath is also good and clean. The area around the house (Lapa) is really really perfect!!! On weekend some good parties around, not directly in front of the house. And it's easy to catch a bus to the Copacabana or Ipanema. Over all: Perfect place! Thanks...

  Comments: The apartment was really comfortable, clean and perfect for a short stay in Rio. The location is very good. The area is safe and has a lot of options day and night. Moreover is well connected with Rio´s main spot. Some of them are at walk distance like Lapa's Arch, the Cathedral or Cinelandia area. The communication with Alexandre and his wife was fluid and we did not have any trouble at all. We would have liked to say goodbye and give our gratitude personally but we had to leave really early in the morning the last day. I would for sure recommend this place and, if I come back, I´ll probably ask again for its availability.

  Comments: Pobyt w mieszkaniu Alexander to był dla nas wspaniały czas. Alexander zaopiekowal się nami jak przyjaciółmi. Odebrał nas z lotniska. Zrobił zakupy na sniadanie. Razem ze swoją żoną zabrał nas na wspaniałą wycieczkę do Floresta Tijuca. Zabrał nas do nastpnego mieszkania w którym zamieszkaliśmy. Mieszkanie jest czyste, komfortowe, dobrze wyposażone. Czuliśmy się tutaj wyjątkowo dobrze. Polecamy to miejsce. Nikt nie będzie zawiedziony. Alexander jeszcze raz bardzo mocno dziękujemy za wszystko.

  Comments: I recommend this place as cheap, convenient, and trouble free :) Wifi was good for those quieter days /nights. Easy location, taxis to most areas are cheap and easy as is the bus system (just use (Hidden by Airbnb) maps) I was collected from the airport and clean sheets provided weekly (stayed in the apartment 4 weeks). Lapa is a busy place, you'll not struggle to enjoy yourselves. The apartment I stayed on was on the 10th floor and far enough away from the parties so they don't keep you awake when you want to sleep. Enjoy.

  Comments: We spent the most wonderful two weeks in Alexandre's apartment. It was perfect, clean, well-equipped in the heart of the district Lapa which we found the most authentic and charming district of Rio. There are beautiful old houses, nice bars and restaurants filled with great music and local people. Close to the apartment you can find really everything, supermarkets, bus stations, metro stations, restaurants, bars, e.g. there is the famous Casa de Cachaça, a tiny little bar where you can taste hundreds of the most delicious cachaça. We always took the metro to go to the beach and it was very easy and fast. The flat is close to the center, to the museums, it was really easy to reach everything. Alexandre was the most wonderful host. He was extremely helpful and kind, we could count on him all during our stay. He picked up us at the airport, gave a lot of advises. He showed us beautiful places not only in Rio but also in Recreio where we saw the amazing garden of Roberto Burle Marx. Thanks to him and his lovely family we could get a much deeper insight into the Brazilian culture and the city of Rio. We cannot be thankful enough to him. He became our friend and we very hope to see him again.

  Comments: O apartamento do Alexandre é tudo o que o promete e muito mais. A localização é perfeita, num edifício com elevador e porteiro vinte e quatro horas. Do lado do edifício tem uma restaurante que serve um joelho de porco espetacular onde se pode tanto almoçar como jantar. O apartamento está perto, também, de supermercados e do comércio. Caminhando cinco minutos se pode pegar os ônibus para se deslocar para qualquer ponto do Rio de Janeiro. Para quem gosta de agito e diversão, é só caminhar cinco minutos que se chega no coração da Lapa onde funcionam muitos bares, restaurantes e casas nocturnas. O bairro é seguro, nunca senti perigo caminhando nas ruas, nem de dia nem de noite. O apartamento é muito limpo. A cozinha está muito bem equipada com louça, tallehres, panelas, fogão, forno microondas e geladeira. O banheiro tem um chuveiro que funciona bem e é limpo. Quando chegamos tinha toalhas de rosto e para o corpo esperando no banheiro. O quarto é bem aconchegante, com uma janela com uma vista muito bonita. A cama é confortável e com lençóis limpos. O Alexandre e sua esposa Vania foram muito atenciosos, casal nota 10.

Já conhecia o bairro da Lapa e gosto dele por ser bem movimentado e de fácil acesso ao aeroporto Santos Dumont e com uma vida noturna agitada. Tivemos um atraso com o nosso voo que nos impediu de chegar ao apartamento no horário combinado, mas o Alexandre e sua esposa Vânia foram super compreensivos e nos aguardaram para nos receber. Localização muito boa na Lapa, em uma rua mais tranquila, andar alto com vista legal do centro da cidade. O Alexandre cumpriu os horários de entrega das chaves.   Comments: I strongly recommend this accommodation because of its location, comfort, and dependability of the host, Alexandre. My traveling partner and I enjoyed the convenience of having easy access to many historical sites (in Lapa, Centro, Santa Teresa), restaurants, and nightlife along with countless choices of public transport. The apartment is well equipped and maintained. Moreover, the apartment building and the street of the studio's location is quiet despite its close proximity to Lapa's nightclubs. Alexandre is a wonderful person; he is welcoming, personable, and reliable. Should I return to Rio, I will definitely rebook this apartment.

  Comments: Alexandre was the best host we ever had. He is regardful and solicitous. When we got at the apartment, he already was there waiting for us. The apartment is clean and cosy. There are so many bars and clubs in Lapa. The nightlife in this neighborhood is amazing. If you stay here, you need go to Rio Scenarium. It's the best Samba club in Rio and very near to the apartment (8-10 min by walk). We'll definitely come back to Alexandre's apartment again.

  Comments: Je remercie Alexandre pour sa réception. Il est aimable et donne des conseils intéressants pour pouvoir visiter les plus beaux sites et monuments de la ville. L'appartement est simple et propre, fidèle aux photos visibles sur le site. Il est sûr et les gardiens comme certains voisins de l'immeuble se montrent attentionnés lorsqu'il s'agit de leur demander de l'aide ou des conseils de visite. Le logement bénéficie d'une bonne localisation, à proximité des bars de Lapa, quartier assez actif, mais se situe également à proximité du métro. Tout s'est ainsi très bien passé pour ce séjour et j'espère qu'il en sera de même une prochaine fois !

  Comments: Alexandre is an outstanding tenant, who assured our most pleasant stay in Rio by allowing us to use his appartment which is nice, clean and airconditioned. It is perfect for couples and locaties in the lovely neighbourhood Lapa which felt very safe, as there is 24/7 security. Alexandre readily provided Rio guidebooks and maps along with a guided tour drive to Ipanema and shuttle service to the airport. He was also available for any questions via w-app. Goes greatly recommended, we would be most glad to come back and stay at Alexandre's appartment again next time. Best, Gerben

  Comments: The apartment is perfectly located in Lapa, just off Mem da Sa in a very safe area. Lots of bars and music, and easy access to supermarkets etc. in a very friendly neighbourhood. It is self-contained and has a great view of the neighbourhood; being on the 10th floor means it is above the noise of Lapa. The doorman is very friendly too. Alexandre and his wife made us most welcome and were wonderful hosts, going far beyond the call of duty. Just book it - you will really like it. We found it perfect.

  Comments: Nice place. The area is a bit seedy at night. Lapa is a party area many great restaurants and bars. Its an old building so a couple of things went wrong. Alexandre tried to fix one thing but it was a holiday so he couldn't buy parts for the shower. The other was out of his hands. Again it is an older building. All in all most days it was fine.

  Comments: I stayed in the apartment during the Olympics time in Rio for one month. This was one of the best home stay I have had. The location is good and very safe with security available round the clock. Lapa is a party hub and is the exact location for party lovers.The cinelandia and carioca metro subway stations are at walking distance. The room is same as it is shown on the photos.Alexandre is a lovely host and to start with he picked me up from the airport even though my flight was very delayed and arrived close to midnight. He even gave me local currency for immediate use till I could change my US dollars. He was always available on a mobile call and attended all the issues like shopping requirements. He also gave a lovely trip to the tijuca national forest in his car. He is like a loyal local guardian and extremely reliable. Though the location is close to all the party zone still you do not get any disturbance while in the apartment. It is on the 10th floor. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely book the place again when I come back to Rio.

Alexander es un excelente anfitrión, nos dio toda la información turística y nos ayudó con todo lo que necesitamos, incluso se ofreció a llevarnos a un restaurante donde teníamos reservación. Sin duda nos volveríamos a hospedar aquí en nuestra siguiente visita a Río.

  Comments: En primer lugar tuvimos un excelente recibimiento, Alexandre se tomó el tiempo de explicarnos en detalle cómo aprovechar el tiempo. Tenía mapas y guías que fueron muy útiles. La ubicación es centrica en Lapa pudiendo hacer a pie todo lo que deseabamos en esa zona, y cerca de metro, autobus, etc que facilitó poder ir con practicidad al maracaná, cristo, pan de azúcar, rodoviaria. El apartamento es tal cual se ve en fotos. No estuvimos mucho allí, pero fue ideal para cocinar. Los vecinos también han sido muy amables. Si bien puede parecer insegura la zona en ningun momento tuvimos ningun tipo problema.

  Comments: Even though my mother and I got to the apartment quite a lot earlier than agreed, Alexandre welcomed us warmly, told us about the Lapa area of the city and explained how we could get to specific locations, areas to avoid, etc.--an incredibly helpful local perspective on the city. The flat was very clean and comfortable for two and it was very close to the places we needed to be. A really great stay with a very friendly host!

  Comments: Alexandre war durch und durch eine toller Gastgeberin! Sehr unkompliziert und hilfsbereit. Als wir Probleme mit dem WLAN hatten, ist er sofort gekommen und hat das Problem gelöst. Die Lage ist super, vor allem für Leute die abends gerne in einer Bar oder tanzen gehen wollen. Trotz einiger Obdachloser in der Gegend haben wir uns nie "unwohl" gefühlt!
