  Comments: We had an amazing weekend here! Martha and Øyvin are inspiring people, really open and kind. We were the first people to stay there after the renovations. Because of that, there were some minor complications to the room. This was handled well by the couple. Definitely recommend this place!

  Comments: My mum and I stayed at Martha's and Oyvin's place in the beginning of April for 6 days and we had the most amazing time! The house is newly renovated and situated on a very privileged location with amazing views over the city of Barcelona on one side and the hills surrounding the city on the other side. It takes you about 30 minutes to get down to the center of the city by public transportation (first a bus, then a funicular and then the metro), which makes it a perfect place for those wanting to combine the calmth and peacefulness of the nature surrounding Barcelona and little trips to the inner city. Martha and Oyvin are a very warm and inspirational couple who like to share their life experience (which is mind blowing) and are really eager to meeting new people and getting engaged in all sorts of projects. My mum and I came back from this trip inspired and will definitely keep in touch with them! I would definitely recommend it to everyone, and mostly to open-minded people looking for an escape in an amazing setting!

The place is stunning and it's a 10 min beautiful walk to the nearest communication transport into the central city. But I never wanted to leave :) Can't wait to get back!

  Comments: We had a great time at Martha's. She's a lovely host with a great family that invited us into their home like we were one of their own. They were generous with everything and shared many inspiring stories with us. Advice, food and drinks were offered without even having to request. The place is located in a beautiful scenic village on the top of a mountain. It has an excellent towering view of Barcelona. Despite not being in the city centre, Barcelona was very accessible through public transport which did not even cost very much. This is the perfect place for someone who wants to learn about the rich culture Spain has to offer while relaxing in a place away from the hectic tourist areas yet still being within reach of Barcelona.

  Comments: Martha made us so welcome and went out of her way to travel down to the town with us the first day to help orientate us. We did not expect to be invited to sit at Martha and Onyo's table every morning for the wonderful breakfasts Martha prepared, and we really appreciated that. We absolutely loved being able to walk in the woods, see wild (tame really) boar, hear birdsong, breathe the clean air and swim in the pool in the mornings before we headed down the fenicular railway into town - we definitely had the best of both worlds. If we return to Barcelona we would love to stay here again and enjoy the reading room too that they developing, Fiona and Jen

  Comments: Martha and Oyvin's place is breathtaking. They were one of the most gracious hosts I've had through airbnb! The room is newly renovated and very comfortable with everything you need. The views, the hills, the running and hiking trails, the breakfasts in the morning, the converted library with the grand piano! I could go on and on. Not to mention, their very adorable dog Black. Who is very friendly! You are able to get a cab to the city centre if you don't have a car. Overall, it was such a nice change of pace and I hope to return! I highly recommend their place.

Our room, the pool, and garden are absolutely beautiful - not to mention the INCREDIBLE views. The whole place is breathtaking. We were made to feel so at home, with a lovely breakfast each morning too :) The property is situated a short walk from public transport in form of a bus or funicular, but better, it is surrounded by woods and picturesque trails which we loved exploring. It is incredibly peaceful and serene but is well connected to the city. Martha and Øyvin are a very kind and inspirational pair - also their family we met are lovely too!   Comments: the house and location are beautiful and Martha and Øyvin are very welcoming and kind people.. we couldn't have asked for more from our hosts, they really go the extra mile. once you figure out the public transport it takes no time at all to get to central barcelona, and if you are coming late then you can hail a taxi from the bottom of tibidabo without any problems. we definitely didnt spend long enough here to enjoy properly so come for at least 3 days.

  Comments: Words cannot express how wonderful this residence is! Martha and her husband made our first trip to Europe a magical experience! She was open to communication before arrival, letting me know what items I needed to have with me and providing directions. Breakfast with the family each morning was an unexpected treat! Through open and meaningful conversation, I was able to learn about some of Barcelona's traditions and history. The private room was very well kept and provided amazing views of Tibidabo and the city. The house is close enough to the city, about a 20 minute funicular and train ride, but far enough away that the evenings were peaceful and quiet. Staying at this residence made our trip magical and a return trip a necessity! You will definitely leave a piece of your heart at the top of Tibidabo if you choose to stay at this amazing house!

We enjoyed the great breakfast (which Martha prepared for us every single morning), took a swim in the pool when it got too hot and gazed at the stunning sunset with a glass of wine. If you want to combine a city trip with a few relaxing days, there's no better place! Most of all we loved spending time with Martha and her lovely family!   Comments: The appartement is apart from the house, you've got your own place and the pool in front. Every morning a very nice breakfast, with all kinds of cereals and nuts and warm bread. Hospitality is erywhere! The place is high above Barcelona City. We walked a nice walk down to the edge of the City through the woods in about 30 minutes. But when you dont like to walk, you can take the little bus to the funicular and get into the metro. All is in zone 1, so you dont have to but extra tickets. I will certainly go back to this place!

  Comments: Superbe location qui correspond en tout point aux photos, Proche des transports en communs calme et frais la nuit, dans un cadre de verdure et une vue époustouflante .... Un accueil comme dans notre famille, merci à Martha et Ovin pour cet accueil si chaleureux et leur chien gentil mais foufou que notre fils à adoré, la piscine est très agréable surtout le soir en rentrant de Barcelone après avoir beaucoup marché ! Et le matin avant de partir pour se rafraîchir pour la matinée ... on a apprécier le petit frigo dans la chambre qui nous a permis de mettre des boissons au frais et de quoi faire l'apéro au bord de la piscine ..... nous avons aussi apprécier le petit déjeuner le matin ... et la salle de la bibliothèque est à couper le souffle, vraiment un endroit à voir et à connaître.   Comments: This has been one of my favorite experiences with Airbnb. My only initial hesitation with booking Martha's place was the location given that its a bit outside of the city. This turned out to be one the biggest perks of staying here: stunning scenery, spectacular views, felt like staying in a private villa in an exclusive location. Getting into Barcelona was not difficult or time consuming at all, and taking the Funicular was super fun and different. Martha was gone during our 4 night stay so we were hosted by her daughter Alexandra who treated us like family instead of guests. The property is beautiful, right below the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor which is just a short walk. Breakfast was a big plus and moving around was not a hassle. This was the perfect escape from the city, especially during the scorching summer heat, as the temperature in Tibidabo was always cooler and of course you could take a dive in the pool whenever. Overall, amazing place and excellent stay. Dont let the location deter you, it will end up being the highlight like it was for us. Thank you Martha, Alex and family, we will surely be returning to your lovely home!

  Comments: We had an amazing stay at the house at the beginning of August. Martha was away, so her daughter Alex hosted us. She met us in the city centre and showed us the way up to the house. (it is a little bit out of the city, but easy to access and the views are worth it!) The funicular was off, but replacement buses were on to take us from the metro station up to the house. A taxi from the city centre is only around 20 euros if you want to stay out late too. The house was absolutely beautiful and we were in the pool everyday! If I was back in Barcelona I'd definitely stay here again, and have already recommended the house to people thinking about visiting the city.

  Comments: We had an amazing time at one of the most beautiful places on the top of the mountain. It is close to an amusement park, but you can’t hear a thing. The view is amazing. It is very easy to go from the house to placa de Catalunya (30 min by public transportation). The breakfast was local what was very nice and delicious. We recommand this place to everybody. There is a dog who listens to the name ‘black’. He is very playfull but so sweet. Thank you for a beautifull vacation!!!

  Comments: I couldn’t recommend this enough! Tibidabo is beautiful and an amazing oasis away from the city. We were served a beautiful breakfast every morning and our hosts were so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. There is a friendly German shepherd named Black who will want to be your best friend from the moment you arrive - he’s big but gentle. Public transportation into the city is very easy, although if you are a night owl, you’ll have to take a cab up to the house if you are out past 930. The space is comfortable and serene, it was hard to leave every morning! Overall I would highly recommend staying here, just make sure to budget some time in your agenda to hang out at this comfortable home.

  Comments: This is a truly special place. Maria and her husband were out of the country, so I was hosted by their lovely daughter Alex. The home is one of the most stunning Airbnb’s I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The views are lovely, and I enjoyed taking a dip in the pool at the end of each day. Their German Shepherd became my best friend and followed me around during my stay (great if you love dogs). Mass transit stops nearby, and once you get your bearings it is not difficult to use. Truly a remarkable stay.

The room is a nice size for two. Clean space, comfy beds, and hot shower. The home is not a far travel to the city and is easily accessible by public transportation. For late nights we were able to take a cab home with no problem. For a short stay we were able to relax, take a dip in the pool, hang out with black (very sweet dog), and make our way to the city. Alex (Martha‘s daughter) and her siblings took great care of us, always responded quickly and were very helpful and flexibel. Great for those who enjoy being in nature, have a car (in case you want to be in the city for dinner etc - cab drivers didn‘t find the place easily) and love dogs (black, the dog, really enjoys company)... The room is a perfect bolt hole set in gorgeous surroundings just a 25 minute trip on public transport from the centre (or a very reasonably priced taxi when it’s late). The short distance out of town is worth it for the unique stay and hospitality of Martha and her husband, who are faultless hosts; not forgetting their adorable dog who will just want to play with you all the time. A delicious breakfast is provided each morning (yogurt, bread, cheese, fruit etc) perfect fuel to head out and explore the city all day. Some days we would come back for a siesta before heading out again in the evening, but the travel links are great so was very easy to follow Martha’s instructions even on our first attempt. If you look for places with character and warmth, then I couldn’t recommend this highly enough! We hope to be back in the near future!

A truly magical setting , amazing hosts , comfortable stay - an ideal retreat : close enough to the main attractions of the city but perfect distance to revitalize and rest after a day of sightseeing . It’s a retreat vacation within a vacation . The views from the room and through out the grounds of the property were breathtaking and out of this world . Martha and entire family went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable , well taken care of , with great recommendations and invaluable warmth and welcome . The site itself of the Antigua Biblioteca Almiral has a remarkable history aswell as an inspirational story . It’s a work of love and creativity and as guests we really felt it . The breakfast and beautiful Black, the German Shepherd added to an already perfect stay . It’s a rare treat , a deep memory , and nostalgia to return as we say goodbye.

In dem sehr schönen Zimmer mit eigenem Bad konnten wir uns sehr gut von den Eindrücken der Großstadt entspannen. Die Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft der Familie ist außerordentlich gut. Nach kurzer Zeit fühlt man sich schon fast als deren Mitglied. Das Frühstück war super lecker und abwechslungsreich. Wer die Unterkunft bucht, sollte ein Herz für Hunde mitbringen, da das Anwesen von einem lieben aber unternehmungslustigen Vierbeiner gut bewacht wird.

  Comments: This stunning property was the perfect place to recharge after spending the day in the bustle of Barcelona. There was so much to love about this AirBnB. Located on a mountain overlooking the city, the views from Martha's property and the drive up to it are simply breathtaking. The accommodations were stylish, comfortable and very clean. But what truly makes this property five-star quality was the warm hospitality of Martha and her family, including the family German Shepherd that you cannot help but love. Martha went above and beyond, providing us with a hearty breakfast each morning, directions and tips on transportation, and sharing the history of her beautiful home with us. By far one of the best AirBnBs we have stayed at. Highly recommend.

  Comments: This is a truly special place with views that are beautiful all times of the day. Make sure to set aside time late afternoon and evening to enjoy the incredible sunsets and relax on the terrace by the pool. The hosts are very helpful with all questions. Their gorgeous shepherd will look to bond with you on arrival so be sure you are a dog fan! The history and beautiful view make this special. Plan on meals down the mountain and a little extra time if you want to go downtown Barcelona.

  Comments: Staying at Martha and Oyvin's home on Mount Tibidabo was one of the highlights of our trip. They are wonderful hosts - very welcoming and accommodating. The location was wonderful - the views of Barcelona were breathtaking, and you were really able to appreciate life as a local walking through the village. It was a nice retreat to return to Tibidabo after a day or time in the city and would highly recommend to anyone.

  Comments: Just as the reviews say, this place was magical and just perfect. My stay was absolutely wonderful. Martha and her kids were extremely nice and helpful. They called me a taxi to ensure I was on time for the airport (as the home is a little out of the city and taxis can be tricky at times). I felt safe and comfortable which was a huge deal to me as a single female traveler. Martha checked in with me every day to make sure I was happy and doing okay, I loved this. It made me feel even better. If you get the chance, stay here...you won't regret it!

  Comments: It was our best Airbnb experience so far. Martha and her great family did their best for us to feel comfortable and welcomed, as we were at home. We stayed at their place for almost a week, and we want to repeat this experience as soon as possible (and advice everyone we know to do the same ). Every morning we had a Catalonian breakfast all together, talking about literally everything! Martha’s family travelled all around the world, so believe us — they have so many stories to share . Our room was so simple and so perfect. It had everything we needed for comfortable stay (great view is included ). Can’t not to mention Black — the cutest and the biggest puppy we ever played with . He is definitely the part of our great time at this house. I guess, it’s just impossible to share our thankfulness and describe how we miss that time at Martha’s place. You should just try once...

  Comments: You should stay here. The apartment is up in Tibidabo, which is a thirty or forty-five minute commute from most of Barcelona. From the street out front you can clearly see all of Barcelona -- and on a clear day, Mallorca. The view is the first memory you'll make here. Martha and her family are very warm and interesting. Take time to ask them about their travels and the history of the home. Their dog Black is enormous, and enormously charming. The library and attached homes are really something. There's a pool, though it was too cold to swim in when I was there in November. The grounds are beautiful. The church and amusement park nearby are worth a visit. The lodging itself is clean, comfortable and private. It has a terrific view. They have gone to some lengths to make sure that everything feels right. I can't say enough nice things about this place or these people. I will be back.

  Comments: Martha and her family hosted us in a warm and aimicable way. They provided everything needed for our stay in the house,as well as some useful advice and recommendation about the trip and traffic to Barcelona landmarks. The breakfast is provided every morning and their house is very fantastic with a modern & classic style after refurnishing the main hall of a previous famous Spanish writer.   Comments: Our stay at the library was fantastic. There are beautiful views from the property, including of the church atop Mt. Tibidabo. Martha and her family were gracious hosts that made a wonderful breakfast each morning and joined us to chat about current events and the day ahead. They were also always willing to provide great recommendations. Public transport very near the Airbnb made getting into Barcelona easy each day and yet the distance offered great serenity and quiet for good sleep each night. We highly recommend this Airbnb.
